I had the loviest experience this morning and it was all thanks to Maggy! I found Maggy Jade Salon through a Groupon I purchased for a cut and style. I called to make my appointment and came in this morning for my haircut. The location is the salon is perfect. Right on university next to the Pet Express Hospital. You can't miss it. Maggy has over 20 years of experience and has had her own salon for over 10 years. The salon itself was nice and clean and I was greeted upon arrival. Maggy sat down with me took a look at my hair and asked what I wanted to get done. Once we had a few minutes to chat we walked over to the washing satiation to wash my hair. What a wonderful scalp massage. Nothing I love more than someone playing with my hair and I just laid back and enjoyed my hair being washed. It was great! We walked over to her chair and she cut and styled my hair. It was wonderful. Maggy and I had a great conversation and before I knew it my haircut was done. I'll definitely be back. Maggy was just the sweetest and I loved my new haircut. So if your in the area and looking for a nice haircut and good conversation come on by. read more

Had an appointment scheduled this morning at 9:00 A.M. that I made earlier this same week. Sat in the parking lot from 8:45 with no one showing up until about 9:16. Someone drives up and informs me that the stylist thought our appointment was at 9:30. Ok. Still not sure why she wouldn't be there by then if she thought her client was coming in 15 minutes? Nonetheless. Continued waiting until 9:30 on the dot. No one showed up at all. I decided to leave and take my business elsewhere. One hour passed and no one bothered to call and see where I was, apologize, explain the misunderstanding, nothing. Very unprofessional all around. Well...I have to say that I had the best experience and service ever. Maggy is a beautiful person. She is friendly, sweet, professional caring, and makes you feel like you are among friends. I went to her for a keratin treatment I purchased on Groupon, my hair was burned from highlights and I was in need of keratin but didn't want to pay $250 dollars which is what I was getting charged at my hairdresser. I have to say that this is the best keratin treatment I've ever had. My hair was pin straight and after the first wash my hair still pin straight and super shiny. DO NOT GO HERE! I had the worst beyond worst experience here. I purchased a Groupon and made an appointment for a cut, highlights and blow dry. I arrived early to my appointment but Maggy was finishing up with another customer so she asked me to wait a bit.. a bit turned into a whole hour! Since I was going on a cruise the next day and desperately wanted my hair done, I figured i wasn't going to get another appointment elsewhere, so I waited & waited. When she FINALLY took me in, she was on the phone with her son and talked about very inappropriate things about his new girlfriend and then she received a call from a business partner and began yelling with her! The partner ACTUALLY came in 15 mins later, mid highlights, and they went at it , IN FRONT OF ME! The most uncomfortable experience I ever felt. An appointment that should've lasted 2 hours, took close to 5 hours!!! After about 15 mins of yelling, she told her to leave and she finished my hair. However, she was in a rush to finish because she had to get to Macy's before they closed to return a dress and she did a HORRIBLE job on my hair! She basically kicked me out with horrible highlights and a bad haircut. I actually had to go to another salon the next morning and pay $50 to repair the damage. Purchasing this Groupon was a complete waste of time and money! I will never return and I urge you to stay away. read more

This was the worst experience I've ever had with a salon. First Maggy showed up late to my appointment, she was completely distracted throughout the session, and when I asked for light brown/caramel highlights, she gave me "honey" which wasn't even honey, it was more of a yellow. I have dark brown hair and it was extremely shocking. After I asked for her to darken it up, she threw in a toner that made it "darker" but in fact made my hair greenish color the next day. I still had a haircut to go after the highlights and her next customer had arrived 1.5 hrs after me, making her rush my haircut. She kept laughing and telling her other customer and fellow employees that I had "freaked out" (rightfully so) and that I had asked for honey, when I had asked for light brown/caramel. Honestly, worst hair experience and she was completely unprofessional as well. read more

This is not a nail salon. Maggie is a hairdresser that wants to expand her salon...but hasn't put the money into it . She advertises gel pedicures but does not have the lamp to provide that service. She had about 10 gel colors to select from. Needless to say the color I picked for my toes didn't match my hands. Not a huge deal but definitely not what was advertised or what I was expecting. The pedicure 'spa' chair was nothing more than a vinyl office chair without wheels. No massage chair here and putting cream on your feet and ankles passes for a 'pedicure' massage. I felt bad for the nail tech who had to explain no gel pedicure would be available, even though that's not what was advertised or paid for. I will not be returning to this salon. read more

Maggy did an amazing job on my highlights. I have dark hair & she didn't turn them orange at all! The process took a while, but that was due to my hair, not the service. I was offered coffee, water and wine while getting my hair done and everyone was very professional and friendly. If you are looking for a high end posh salon that you won't be comfortable in this is not it. Maggie Jade salon is more of a laid-back feel with the high-end services. I love my hair again! I cannot recommend this salon enough! I live pretty close to here so I always passed by. I was brown and looking to go blonde for summer. Aware that the first go when going back blonde can be pretty brassy I expressed my concern to her but explained I knew that there is only so much she can do without being too harsh on my hair. It is the most personable salon I've ever went to, it was just her working. Once she finished off her other client and got to me she offered me a wine which I accepted:) She asked had I any pictures. I showed her and we began. From the time to put the highlights in, to the extra time at the basin to lift it some more with a toner (while chatting about trumps speech) to the cut and blow dry. I am just over the moon with my hair and everyone cannot believe how well it turned out from going straight from brown. I will use nobody else but maggy from now on. Not to mention she is extremely reasonable!! LOVE THIS PLACE!!!! Ps. I see others giving out about her on the phone etc etc, it's quite silly to me. Wow what a terrible and demeaning experience! Bought a Groupon and went to redeem it. When I got there the manager made a big deal because it was after 5pm. The lady kept saying "I don't take Groupons after 5pm", but my appt was for 5:30. She was upset that in didn't purchase the Groupon directly from her and told me I wasn't suppose to get it online but rather directly through them (likely because they wanted to pocket all the money themselves). Either way, she ask me to pick out my color, of which she had maybe 6 gel colors to choose from. I don't think this lady was the owner because she called the owner right in front of me to tell her that they needed to stop accepting the Groupons because they weren't worth it and someone just came on with another one. The salon was very small and did not seem to specialize in nails. After picking out my color (and the manager mentioning to the staff about 10 times that I bought a Groupon) she finally told me she couldn't take me that day. She mentioned that their mani gel and pedi service is typically $70 (I don't know who would pay that in this salon) and I had to come back at another time. I let her have it for making me feel like a second class citizen for purchasing THEIR GROUPON and told her I would not be rescheduling but rather calling Groupon to request a refund. Business need to take their frustrations out on Groupon if they don't feel like the new business isn't worth it to them instead of making people who buy them feel like shit when you show up and they roll their eyes because they in fact don't want your business. read more

I have not experience the salon but I called to book my Groupon and I was told that the only times she will take you for Groupon appointments is between 9:30 AM and 3:30 PM during the week. I don't know about any of you ladies l, but I have a job in which I work 9 to 5 during the week so that doesn't work for me. It's a shame because I just moved here, and I've been looking for a great stylist to be loyal to, but Maggy Jade lost my business in the first point of contact. In reading through these comments, I'm not the first one to have this experience so just be forewarned. I wouldn't want to deal with someone who treats me as second rate simply because I purchased her introductory offer posted on Groupon. Not good business. Edit: the ownership or manager replied below to say that the reason this is their policy is due to daylight savings, because they don't know your hair, and it includes a consultation, which, unless you're also an attorney, is free anyways. I had an appointment to use a Groupon for highlights and haircut. I get a call as I'm driving to my appointment asking if I can come later. I said I'm already on my way. Upon arrival I'm told to come back in 15 to 20 min because her assistant went home sick. I come back 30 min later and the owner is leisurely talking with another client at the shampoo bowl. After another 15 minutes she comes out and tells me she still needs to cut and dry this persons hair. All in all, I would have had to wait close to an hour and a half for my appointment. I ended up walking out after wasting almost two hours driving and waiting for this appointment. How about calling to reschedule instead of having me drive all the way there to wait an hour and a half??!!Total unprofessionalism at this salon. This place was unprofessional and an overall awful experience. The owner herself acted as such. They had no enthusiasm and did not want to be there. There was constant complaint about them wanting to go home and being sleepy. I understand it but you don't act like it, especially not in front of your new clients. Even when blow-drying my hair, she barely dried it through. Everything seemed like she was forced to do it and did a terrible job at it too. I am not the type to ever write bad reviews but feel like they should be made aware of their poor service and maybe change it up if they want to stay in business. Maggy was extremely unprofessional. When I made my appointment for full highlights, I mentioned that I have long hair. I was told it will be extra for the lenght and I was ok with it because I understand my hair takes more time and product. As I arrived for my appointment, Maggy did not look happy with the lenght of my hair (past my shoulders but not my waist). She was not happy that I have "so much hair" and she decided to complained about my hair for the rest of the awful 3 hour appointment. I should of walked out but because it was Mother's day weekend, I really wanted to get my hair done. Half of my highlights were brassy and my hair was chemically burned. She put me under the drier to speed up the lightning and that's when she probably ruined my hair. The blow dry was done in a hurry so I walked out with puffy hair. Overall I had a horrible experience and lots of damage to my hair. If you have tick hair that is past your shoulders then DO NOT GET YOUR HAIR DONE HERE! It won't matter if you are charge an extra $70 for the lenght. Maggy will not be happy and will do a crappy job. Beware. read more

I NEVER wind up going to the same hair dresser twice, but I just went back & saw Maggy for the second time for highlights. I have very long & dark natural hair & i keep it light blonde. Maggy gets the prettiest blonde color on the first try. Never brassy or yellow. She goes out of her way to make her customers comfortable. Everyone was polite there.
