I bought a groupon for haircut and partial highlights. I was told during my appointment that I would be charged an extra $25 for toner. When I asked if you can do highlights without toner I was told that you could if you had super blonde hair. I have never seen a quote for highlights that didn't include toner in the quote. As for the haircut; Bernard Said that he could lighten up my thick hair without losing any length and then proceeded to give me two separate haircuts where he cut the top layers very short and left the under layers long. It looks like two separate haircuts. When I asked to look at the back after it was dried he said he didn't have a mirror. Now I know why! It is the worst haircut I have ever had by far. read more

He was unprofessional and careless while cutting my hair: talking on the phone, texting, looking away to chat with people while still in the process of cutting.. He completely destroyed my hair to where it's not fixable: I asked for layers on long hair and he created some lines and chunks of hair sticking out at the level of my ears all around my head. When I came back to complain, he refused to even look at what he did and said that I asked for it myself. He was rude and openly showed that he does not give a damn. Amazing surprise in the middle of Weston! I got a Groupon to do a keratin treatment here. When I called to make an appointment I felt really welcome and I love that he didn't waste too much time and got to the point! I told him I have alot of hair but at the same time don't have alot of time. I've never had a faster keratin treatment and I get these all the time! Called to make an appointment with a Groupon. Bernard said don't get the Groupon, I'll honor the price - which was a good price because there was a sale. Get there, wants to upcharge extra $30 for blow dry long hair, wants to upcharge for toner. So I left. Already a $60 upcharge on top of the regular cost. The worst. Thanks Bernard fir using up my valuable time with your bs right before a holiday. Waiting at another salon right now. I'd rather pay full price than feel like I'm getting scammed. Mine is a multi part review and will try to remain as factual as possible. I went here for the first time years ago. It was ok, but nothing special that would have kept me as a regular customer. Fast forward a couple years. My gym is nearby so I see it often. Consistently moderately busy. I bought a deal so went again. Same experience. Another couple years. Another groupon. My fault for not using it quickly enough and letting the deadline loom. I called, explained the situation and asked if I could make the appointment past the deadline as long as I booked. No go. Bernard the owner told me to get a refund from Groupon. Which they wouldn't give me. So I made the appointment despite the fact that I didn't really need it. I showed up on time, early on a Saturday. Once I got there they couldn't find me on the schedule. My appointment was with the owner Bernard. He said ok, wait I will fit you in. I sat for about an hour. After that, he told me that he recognized me and the groupon was only for first time customers. Fine, I understand that. My biggest issue with that was that you couldn't tell me that before having me wait and waste my time for an hour. I admit, I was pretty angry but held it in well. What really sparked it was his attitude. It is my opinion - I say that even though I am sure others would agree with me - but he is so brusque, abrupt and pretty much the opposite of what I think customer service should be. After I left I get a couple weird calls from him on my cell. The first was a long message but just silent, and then it goes into the background noise of the salon. The second one was where he was offering another appointment without any explanation. Maybe it's age, new york attitude but it was very strange and off putting. He must be good at what he does but with so many salons out there, why subject oneself to such an atmosphere/experience? I definitely won't. At least it's sharpened my instincts and made me much more willing to walk out if I feel uncomfortable. At this point, I wouldn't go there if they paid me. read more

Buyers Beware. I purchased a $99 Keratin treatment for my daughter which says it is a $300 value. She went there and they told her that because of her long hair she had to pay more. Nowhere in the Groupon does it say that it was based on length of hair. She was way overcharged by them, and taken advantage of. Big Scam!! read more

Absolutely fabulous. Today I tried Hi-Tech for the first time for a partial highlight and a cut with Bernard. My hair looks better than it has in years, maybe even decades. Bernard was a pleasure to work with and his wife, Belkys (?), was equally lovely. All the staff members I encountered were very kind and accommodating. I did read some of the bad reviews beforehand and was a little cautious about trying Hi-Tech. My experience was nothing but positive. It's a busy little salon, and I watched several other customers get great hair and service. I do agree that the salon is a little hard to find, but that's a relatively minor issue. Now I know where Hi-Tech is, and I will be back! read more

So. I'm sorry I had to write this review because Bernard is so nice & I really enjoyed the service. But my hair is what matters and my hair looks terrible. I came in with a "Groupon" wanting a balayage haircut. He said the groupon didn't work for that it would be 100$ no problem. So as he starts to dye and cut my hair. My heart is breaking with it. I kept saying my hair looks short. It doesn't look like what I asked and you can tell he tried but he botched my hair. I even had to go in the next day to "fix" it... but it came out worse than the day before. I gave two stars cause I feel bad giving one. He's nice. But refused to give me back my money even tho I need to get it redone by someone else... I tipped 20$ for his time. But honestly want my 100$ back. Going through my bank to get it. The pictures speak for itself. So enjoy. Non stop people are asking me.. who the hell did my hair. I wouldn't have wrote the review if I would have gotten my money back. I called the same day to get an appointment for my daughter and I for the keritan treatment . Bernard was very accommodating and did an amazing job on my hair and another girl assisted my daughter. Our hair is very smooth compared to what we looked like prior. Florida humidity is not our friend. I highly recommend Hi Tech Hair Salon. We would certainly come back when we return to Florida. I bought a groupon for a keratin treatment and after reading the reviews was super skeptical and really expecting the worst. Yes, the guy that made my appt was not the warmest person. He was very matter-of-fact but not rude. I was pleasantly surprised when I went in for my hair appt. The salon was empty so I got a little nervous but to be fair it was a Monday. Sonia immediately started on my hair. Again, I was expecting the worst. Well...this is the BEST keratin I've ever gotten. I've had keratin done several times at high end salons. Not that they were bad but this has been the best. I washed my hair this morning after doing the keratin on Monday. My hair is honestly wash and go! I've never had that!! Went for a Keratin treatment that i recently bought on Groupon. First impression, it is pretty tricky to find the place, not forget to mention the sign is being covered by a tree that makes it harder to find. Bernard, the owner seems to be really laid back, some might think he has a slight attitude which i find a bit understandable since he seems to be talking in short sentences. I don't want to judge someone and as long as he doesn't disrespect me in any kind of way, i could careless. Bernard assisted me for appointment and he is also the one who discussed the price with me. Even though they never mentioned extra charge for the Keratin treatment if you have longer hair on Groupon (kinda sketchy eh?). Tbh my hair isnt that long to begin with, it's a bit over my shoulders. I thought for myself if the charge is reasonable and the work is done right, i wouldn't mind a little extra. I went ahead and said ok. (The extra charge was $20). I also asked for a color change service because my just want to even out my hair color. My hair was done by Bernard's wife, or maybe lover, one or the other. She was really sweet and meticulously took care of my hair. Offered me coffee and engaged in small talks, which i didn't mind since i'll be there for a couple of hours. They have a cute little doggie that doesnt like you if you wear shorts lol. The color job was outstanding, my hair looks so much better afterwards. Keratin treatment wasn't too bad. I was expecting her to put more keratin on my ends instead of the middle part of my hair. I have naturally straight hair so i didnt really need much of it in the middle. My ends need the keratin the most because it was ruined caused by over-bleaching job by my friend... Overall it was a pleasant experience. My hair came out much better than i expected from all the bad reviews on Yelp. It looks so much better than before and they also gave me a $20 off coupon for the next service. I went here to get my hair and makeup done for prom, as well as a balayage the week before, and I couldn't have been more impressed. The staff is all great and couldn't have been nicer, and their work is absolutely incredible. I brought 6 other girls with me and they all loved their hair and makeup so much. I bought a Groupon and as all hair groupons are skeptical, I was skeptical walking into the salon. I called and the person who answered the phone was very firm they really had no idea what I was calling about so I mentioned the Groupon and then she said that I would have an appointment, On Friday first thing in the morning I get there you no one understands why I'm there. I said I have an appointment , the person didn't tell me who my appointment was with so I couldn't refer to the stylist so they hand me off to one stylist who does not have the best Communication because English is not her first language. That didn't bother me what bothered me was is that I refer to the pictures of what I want she does not have enough education to understand what I would like. She starts to do my roots and asked for how do I get the pictures I had no idea what she meant so I referred pictures of what I'm looking for and she wants me to look for them on her phone she is not explain to me what she's doing she's just going with the flow she tells me I need more color more color more color that's all she saying. I finally get done with my service and my hair is nothing to any of the pictures that I asked for nor is it anything that she tried to refer me to go twice. But what the worst part is is that when it comes down to the payment I've already told her I've paid for my Groupon she still tries to charge me three times what she told me the additional charges going to be because she does not understand what she is doing. This was not a pleasant experience I do not like my hair color I felt very uncomfortable being there and none of the stylists are helping each other I was very sad that I will not be back. read more
