This is a great shop. I went in desperately asking for help because my vegetarian in-laws were coming to town. I also have a gluten allergy and my daughter has a nut allergy, and they were so super accommodating and helpful. I was so grateful for the help, and the food was delicious! Everyone loved it. While the taste and quality of the food range from pretty good to very good, nothing I've eaten there is memorable and the price they charge for the quantity of food they provide is outrageously high. My friend and I ordered a variety of takeout items for lunch and were charged $55 which didn't include drinks or dessert. We barely had enough to go around. This is a great little Turkish-inspired restaurant. I ordered a lovely take out feast for a small party and everything was a big hit. Delicious dips, veggie main courses and desserts. If you want an amazing treat, go to Magic Bites. Everything is super fresh and delicious, made in the cafe. I tried it once and now it's part of my regular bi-weekly shopping. So many wonderful lunch and dinner items (various types of hummus, baba ganoush, various veggie dips and salads, lots of baked goods, etc.). My family especially loves the Mediterranian and the regular hummus, the baba ganoush - which she makes without salt on request! - the tahini cookies (addictive and not too sweet), beet salad, beet cacik, hadari (made with a thick yogurt), stuffed grape leaves, baklava. Oh gee, I'm probably leaving out some favorite - trust me, it's all incredibly yummy. When I asked my young niece what she wanted for a treat on her birthday -- anything! -- she said instantly, Tahini cookie! And everyone says the baklava is the best they ever tasted - not super syrupy sweet and delicious. And, important for me, she goes light on the sugar and salt! Try it! You'll be a fan! read more

The owners are Turkish, as is my wife, so we were obviously interested in checking Magic Bites out when they first opened. And boy are we glad we did, as it's become one of our go-to places. Great owners, very friendly, and the food is fantastic and authentic Turkish. They catered a birthday party for our 1-year-old for 30+ people, and the food was a real hit. Only downside is that we didn't have as many leftovers afterward as we had hoped! Get the lentil fingers, check out their dips (the muhamarra, mediterranean dip, and hummus are our favorites), and try out their pides (basically a Turkish-style pizza). For the party we also got dolmas (grape leaves wrapped around veggies), meatballs with potatoes in cream and cheese, vegetables and haydari (a type of yogurt dip), poacas stuffed with cheese, and 3 different types of cupcakes. An asset to Arlington! As others have said the lentil fingers are special and the muhammara (which I can't spell but can eat) is extraordinary. I also love the pide, the little lunch pies with things like spinach and cheese. But if you really want a phenomenal treat , ask them to bake you a cake! Magic Bites is family run and makes delicious, unique Mediterranean/Middle Eastern food. Beyond the beautiful baked goods, they offer side-dishes/appetizers/dips from their traditional family recipes. There's a small amount of seating for a quiet lunch with a friend but this is mostly for takeout. My local farmstand sells Magic Bites goodies, too. Very special, and nice people, too.
