She brought ponchos so we could continue on as it rained. It was beautiful to learn about and see this neighborhood through the eyes of someone who grew up here. Toni knows so much history and seemed to know so many of the people, too! The tour has so much food - I was honestly more than full at the end and I didn't even finish all of my portions. I think it was a really good range of drinks, desserts, and food. Even though that coffee cup looks small, that's a full serving size and it was strong! I really really appreciate that this tour not only accommodated for vegetarians but also chose options for me that were realllllly good. Instead of the cubano, I had these fried plantain cups stuffed with veggies. They were SO good and seasoned well! And the spinach and cheese empanada was also amazing. My friend who got the meat options also loved her food. This tour is the perfect way to learn more about Cuban history, the history of the neighborhood, see all the street art, watch a game at domino park, and experience some of the best food in Miami. I cannot recommend this enough!!!

We even stopped by a cigar store and learned all about cigar making while watching a woman roll cigars. The time went by so quickly and it wouldn't have been the same experience without Mariela as our guide. She is so passionate and knowledgeable. Her energy was so upbeat. I think this a great tour for visitors who want to learn about a culture that shapes Miami as well as locals who want to learn about a neighborhood they may not know the ins and outs of. Mariels brought Cuba to us and we can't thank her enough! We highly recommend this tour!

The meet-up point is the Art Deco Welcome Center in South Beach, located in a park adjacent to the beach at 10th Street. We parked in a pay-lot about 4 blocks away on Washington Street. There were plenty of spaces when we arrived at 9:45 a.m. or so, but it was pretty full later when we left (a bit before 1 p.m.). I was pleasantly surprised that the cost was under $10! We checked in and were invited to browse the gift shop or to check out the Art Deco Museum. We did both. They also issued us lanyard-and-headphone combos for the tour. They had enough people booked such that they split it into 2 tours. Whoever was there a bit early was assigned to the first one, and we headed out by 10:20 a.m. Our guide was Howard. He had a voice that carried quite a ways, so we didn't end up needing the headphones. Given the topology, there were no hills to climb. Everything was uniformly flat. The tour began with a short history of Miami Beach, the concept of Art Deco, and why there happened to be a concentration of the style there. They later touched on how the preservation efforts saved it in the 1970s. Much of the rest of the tour was walking up Ocean Blvd (as well as some other streets) with Howard pointing out features on various buildings and how they reflect various aspects of Art Deco. It also involved the history of the buildings and what they are used for currently. We went into the lobby of one hotel for an interior glimpse. The tour also included a few other miscellaneous structures along the route (Versace's mansion and the oldest remaining house on the island, from 1916). The tour wrapped up after a bit over 90 minutes back near the visitors' center where it started. I thought this was quite a good overview of the subject and provided a lot of insights about the area and its history. If you have an interest in Art Deco and this area, you should definitely check it out.

I have been to Miami couple times and passed by that area many times but never knew the history on this street. Joining this tour makes the cultural icon of Miami even more colourful and meaningful! I got hired on to work 30 hours a week at $16 and hour along with whatever the rate per course/class is. My first week I worked well over 40 hours, taking care of task that I already knew how to do. Come pay day, I'm told that this is the training period and I will receive $150 for the 40 hours worked or nothing at all. I make it through the training period and i am suppose to get my full hourly wage no matter what, and guess what? There suddenly isn't any work. It make sense why Pedro typically hires younger females with little to no self respect or esteem, because they won't stand up for themselves and they'll play along with his narratives, even if the are wrong or disrespectful. Because when I stood up for myself and my property he tried to get physical with me at his co working space in Wynwood. Now, Pedro won't pay me for the hours I worked because I stood up for myself and in the process he embarrassed himself in front of everyone he displays a fake attitude and demeanor towards. The tours and the can control course are a great time however I would just like to let you guys know what happens behind the scenes and the kind of person you're dealing with! P.s. try to catch the sober him, if ya can.

Unlike other places where you can buy online and get a printed ticket, for this you have to download their app, purchase through it and show your phone to check in. I am not exactly thrilled at being forced to download another app but I guess that's where the world is heading. Parking - there are numerous garages and street parkings nearby, and even valet, some options less expensive than others. We timed to arrive a little early so we could circle around a bit to find parking on the street. The exhibit starts like a typical museum exhibit, some videos, some reproduced paintings along with caption, which gives you some basic background of Van Gogh's life and talent. The highlight is the main immersion experience. There are rugs and beanbags on the floor, as well as chairs and benches, for you to sit down and enjoy the looping show. The vibrant colors and emotive music really let you immerse yourself in his paintings. They also add some animation by moving parts of the painting (like a boat or the birds). There is minimal narration, except for a few lines of Van Gogh's words. Some may consider the pace a bit slow but I think it's perfect for letting you really sink into that feeling, whether it be the beautiful nature or the psychotic mind. I was also glad to pay the extra $5 for the virtual reality experience, which gives me a better understanding of his work, as you stroll along the village and see where he sets up his canvas, so to speak. The show suggests that the whole experience takes an hour, but I ended up staying for almost 3 (watched both the VR and immersive twice), and probably won't mind spending even more.

We showed up at 9:10 AM, exactly as instructed, only to be told our booking had been moved to 11:30 AM without any notice whatsoever. No email. No call. Nothing. Just "oh yeah, it was changed." From there, it was 30 minutes of standing around, being sent back and forth between employees who clearly had no idea what was going on. Eventually, we were told we'd receive a refund and a free boat tour as compensation for the inconvenience. Sounds reasonable, right? Except when they went to process it, they tried to charge the boat tour tickets against the refund credit -- essentially undoing the compensation they just promised. If we hadn't been paying attention, we would have been charged anyway. Luckily, we caught it, demanded clarity, and only then did they issue a full refund and actually give us the boat tour tickets for free like they said they would in the first place. The boat tour itself (celebrity homes) was fine -- nothing special -- but that's not the point. We're locals who intentionally tried to spend the day as tourists, and this experience made it painfully clear how miserable this must be for out-of-towners who don't know better. Disorganized, misleading, and careless with customers' time and money. Miami deserves better than operations like this -- and tourists definitely do.

We thoroughly enjoyed this one, especially with Will, the narrator of the tour. He gave grear info, made some really good stops and took us to a bakery where we enjoyed some really good Cuban coffee and got some treats that were actually priced reasonably. He also took us to take some pictures of the skyline, which was beautiful. Will was exceptionally funny, friendly and knowledgeable the entire ride. He really made the tour worth it. The bus is air conditioned, which was huge for us because we had already been on that other scorching bus the day before with no guided tour. My husband loves the information with the tour because he loves to learn about the history. I would recommend this tour to everyone!!!
