Every 6 months or so I get lazy and decide that its not worth it to go across the island to the place I like, so I go to Magic Nails because they're the closest nail place to my apartment. Every 6 months or so I remember why my nail place is across town. Today my nails were soaked in acetone for over 45 minutes and then aggressively buffed to the point that skin was broken. 6 months ago- my gel polish was attempted to be removed manually with a hand file for almost an hour before some else finally dremelled it off. Around the 30 minute soaking mark, the owner* asked if I was local- and then tried to get me enrolled in a rewards program... who wants to be in a rewards program for a place that isn't acknowledging you? I couldn't even fill out the paperwork because my NAILS WERE STILL IN FOILS. Not happy, will not be returning. read more

If I could give zero stars, I would. Although their service and procedures of my pedicure were relaxing, their lack of sterilization and lack of "unseen" sanitary conditions left me with a painful case of athlete's foot fungus on top of my toes. Be VERY AWARE that just because a nail salon LOOKS clean doesn't mean it actually is. I don't know if it was from the foot bath part, tools and brushes, or if they are reusing the hot orange parrafin wax in the baggies from other customers (she brought them out from behind closed doors). Meanwhile, less than 2 days later, I'm left with pain and itching on the tops of my toes and in between. NOTE TO NAIL SALONS - thoroughly wash and sanitize your tubs, tools, brushes, etc. read more

I love going here! Helen and Ben have done my nails for YEARS! I follow them wherever they go. Even now that I'm in college and away from home, when I come back, I go straight to them. The salon is clean and I've never had a problem with the other nail techs. I take my friends and they never have any complaints about the service. read more

So, I've used this place many times & had left a shining review previously-but never again as they denied my gift certificate from their salon gifted to me by my daughter! They said it was too old???? Whaaaattt?? I had already redeemed a large part of it & they rewrote. The remainder in another certificate. Gift certificates don't expire unless there is a date saying so, which there was not! I was not happy! I even had the same envelope it came in, which is the same envelope they still use, it was signed by an employee! So what they changed their style of gift certificate! He still knew it was legit! Wow! What a way to NOT run your business! Or someone else's for that matter! Not cool!! He yelled at me as I was leaving "don't come back"-causing a scene in front of my two small granddaughters scaring them. I had already told him I was going to pay for my service & tip the woman who did my pedicure & her 20% since it was not her fault. Foolishly lost my business & all my family, etc. Really??? He knew he was in the wrong!! I told him I would not leave a good review on social media. So beware-not recommended. People should NOT have to deal with drama & unscrupulous people when they simply came in to relax & get a service! read more

One of the worst nail salon experiences I've had, they clearly don't understand costumer service here OR how to give a regular manicure. I tried this dump because my usual spot was too crowded and I needed a QUICK mani before a wedding. I walked in as they opened around 905 along with one other lady. I wanted a manicure and she wanted a (more expensive) mani/pedi/wax. So after she was seated I was told to sit at a station and wait "just a minute". There appeared to only be one girl working, two men standing around on their phones, and a girl doing nothing. I sat there for ten minutes...then another person walked in wanting a mani pedi and she was immediately sat. All of a sudden the other girl begins to work?! Excuse me?! Apparently a manicure is not worth their time. I asked what was going on and was told to wait, at which point I said I had been waiting and would happily take my business elsewhere. Well I should have! The guy on his phone then comes over and OH YOU WORK HERE TOO, OH GOOD. He never even took his headphones out of his ears the whole time. Beyond that he didn't use cuticle cream, he filed my nails unevenly and refused to fix them when I said so, "they look fine to me" he said. He got paint all under my nails (which he never cleaned out) and for some reason put like four coats on. My nails chipped within hours. I will not be coming back here. The only reason I even paid them was because I wanted to get the hell out after over an hour of being there for what should have taken half that time. One star because at least they have a view of the ocean. read more

This nail salon opened about a year ago and it is the best in Galveston! -They take their time and never make you feel rushed -They are polite and courteous -You can get something to drink while you are there (wine, sprite, or coke) -Prices are very reasonable Go give them a try...you won't regret it! read more

Just visited this salon for a shellac mani and a super deluxe pedi. The salon is very clean and comfortable. Justin did my pedicure. He did a great job cutting my toenails evenly and filing and buffing them. The massage was very nice and he paints very well with the polish, evenly coated and smooth!! Quinn did my shellac mani and she was also very efficient with filing and shaping my nails. She did a nice job with applying the polish, so that it was even and shiny. I was quite satisfied with their work and will be going back in two weeks! read more

They did a pretty good job. Not pushy to get everything all done a once. I enjoyed reading a book as they did my pedi. The new owner is great and the staff was friendly. Good place to come while your on vacation in Galveston. Will be back next time I'm here. read more

The first time I went I wasn't impressed at all. The lady doing my nails was rude and left my manicure looking horrible but I decided to give it another try and I loved it! They did a full set, pedicure AND eyebrows in an hour! They took their time and made sure I liked my nails. This is now my favorite place to get my eyebrows done because they leave them thick and not thin like other places. read more

The pedicure here is really good. The nail tech took his time and I was pleased with the result. But I got a pretty bad shellac, he missed the edges of my nails and it was just not done with any attention to detail. Would definitely return for a pedi, but not for shellac!! Customer service could stand to improve. read more

This use to be my go to nail salon when it was ran by Vicki, but after she passed away the service went down hill. The people running it are extremely rude. They messed up my nail color because the tech doing my nails did not speak English. The service took 3 hours, they took 2 people in the middle of doing my nails. I ran out of time and couldn't stay to fix my nails. I came back the next day and when asked to fix my nails it turned into a big ordeal. I had to go back a few weeks later because my Mom's nail broke and she needed it fixed and they were extremely rude again. They want your money but if your not a regular you get tossed to the side and given nail techs that don't listen to your request or even speak English. Way better when the place was ran by Vickie. Very clean, nice decorations. Technitions are friendly. I've been a loyal costumer of this nails salon. They use new, sanitized tools for each costumer and do open a new package of tools everytime they start the service. Good shellac manicures, reasonable prices. Very quiet and relaxing!!! read more

Took my daughters and niece for pedicures and ended up getting mani/pedis because of the M-W special for ladies!! Nice chairs, clean place, took care of us all at the same time, and no acetone smell!! We will be back! read more
