I really love this place! Anytime I've gotten a no chip from them it's lasted almost a month, plus their prices are definitely below average! Recently, when Magic Nails was closed I walked into a nearby salon and got one of the worst manicures I've ever had. I was back at Magic within a week having them fix and redo them. Like some other reviews say, it's a little rough around the edges, but I haven't had my nails done as perfectly anywhere else! Honestly, don't let the outside fool you. It looks shady because it's in a little strip mall next to Little Caesar's and Dollar General but that doesn't mean that the service matches the outside. There's a parking lot so plenty of free parking. There's a sign in front that mentioned new management and there's some things they still need to work on but they will improve over time. I went on a Saturday around 5pm and it was a little busy. Luckily for me, there was only 1 person ahead of me and it was probably about a 15 to 20 minute wait. I was able to choose my no chip color while waiting so the wait wasn't too bad. I got the no chip manicure and a regular pedicure for $55! This is such a steal considering neighboring nail salons by Oak Brook charge $40 alone for a no chip manicure. My nails looks beautiful and the guy who did my nails was very patient and took his time with my nails, which look gorgeous. The salon was very clean. The salon chairs were comfortable. The workers are nice, friendly, hardworking, and patient. As for the pedicure, they used a sugar scrub, lotion, and hot towel, which was nice and relaxing. Some tips on improvement: - I know they are under new management but when I visited on a Saturday, there were only 3 people working. Like I had mentioned, it was busy and luckily I only waited 20 minutes. There were about 4 women who came after me and they were told it would be a 45 minute to an hour wait. I hope they hire more people so this wouldn't be a problem for customers. - The salon chairs were facing the wall, with a big flower painting (it looked like decor from the 80's?). The TV was placed on the wall which you can see when you first enter the building. The TV was in an awkward spot, I kept turning to my side just to face the TV and not face the wall with the painting on it. Maybe place the tv in front of the salon chairs so customers can watch tv comfortably? They also offer other services like eyelashes and waxing but I can only comment on their service for my nails, which was excellent! I'll be back to bring my mom so she can get a nice pedicure after a long day at work! read more

The best nails I have ever gotten !!! I came in for "coffin" nails and before I even told my nail tech , Ray , that's the style I wanted , he already knew ! It's as if he read my mind . He was a total magician . Perfectly even and the EXACT style I had in mind . He also gave me a pedicure with a massage that was out of this world ! The owner , Ashley (? ) was the sweetest. She gave my boyfriend's sister a manicure and her nails look great ! It was also fun talking with both of them ! I am a hairstylist and everyone at my salon has complimented my nails . Since getting my nails done here the 1st time, I haven't gone anywhere else. Ashley has been doing my gel no chip nails and she is amazing. Always willing to do whatever crazy ideas I bring in to her, and she executes them flawlessly. All of the designs are hand painted, not just a decal. This place is filthy. Old customer coffee cups, all the surfaces dusty and dirty, the product jars so schmutzy and old. The nail polish jars toppled over and unorganized. Please, keep on top of the cleaning, it will make a big difference on first impressions. I went in for a pedicure(no color) and a polish change on fingers. Service itself was fine, nothing great. The kid doing my feet was a bit too aggressive with the pumice scrubber, and I did let him no to take it down a notch. The nail tools were sanitized, they don't use liners in the foot soaking tub, but I'm sure they follow required cleaning procedures. read more

The only thing I can say is don't bother. I went three days ago and they were empty. Just a guy on his computer who said he had no appointments for a manicure and eyebrows til Friday. I tried Friday but, they had no availability again and it was dead empty. The lady told me "You can go to other salons. They all have eyebrow." By the time I was done I was in Elmhurst at a LaNaiks. So I got a Groupon for a Parrafin Treatment, Manicure & Pedicure for a local nail salon so I jumped on it. I saved this one for my trip that I am taking tomorrow. I made an 7pm appointment and was pretty pumped about the parrafin treatment. I walked into Magic Nails, and wanted to run back out. The pedicure chairs were old, the envirement was dingy, the decor was very outdated and dirty, and just wasnt kept up. The staff was bland, distracted and there were children running around and playing, This didn't follow my typical pedicure routine that I normally recieve. So I check in and grab a color, it was a sad selection for choices. The pedicurist dug and cleaned up my barkin dogs with a bit of pain to be honest. Not enjoyable in the least. He didn't even rub my other foot, he just rubbed one! Serious! Before I could blink the pedicure was done, the chair didn't even turn off when he was done applying the polish. The manicure was ok, I've had better. Nothing special. This was a painful experience too. My sister says im a wuss but I beg to differ. At one point I noticed my finger was bleeding!!!! I quickly ran & washed my hands and told him I was done with the service. This place is the pits. I will never go back and my feet & hands and still tender. The owner gave me a card for another visit for the same amount and treatments.....thats okay. Id rather not. read more

It wasn't until I went to my regular nail salon to notice that THREE of my fingers were not pointed correctly- it was off centered. I will never come back after knowing that. This place has gone way downhill over the years. Old polish, lack of selection of colors, and it's just a mess (kids snacks and garbage all over the table in the "lobby" that never got touched). I made an "appointment" and was stuck in the footbath for 30 minutes like a hostage without so much as a warning or apology. My pedicure was nothing special but took FOREVER and was 30 bucks, which is 5 bucks more than most basic pedicures I could get around here. They don't have enough employees to staff for walkins. Also, I have MS wHich makes my right foot hard to keep in a certain position. The nail tech kept yelling at me to move my foot. Had a Groupon the place isn't too far from my home so I went to ck it out. Wow I should have just turned around like my first mind told me to do. I removed my coat and an employee made a noise and nod to get me to go by where she was standing. No English here well some attempt just not successful ones. So I walked over to where she was standing and she pointed down to the wax machine and indicated with her motion for me to stick my hand - hey wait I looked confused so she guided my hand in the wax. - No washing my hands first nothing I mean I just walked in off the freaking street. ( I sat and watched as they did this with the next women she's like well not my left hand I have this thing there and I don't want to wax it ) I did feel the regret at that point that I was there. So after the painful pedi I was on to my mani - products are not labeled well they are but they have hand made labels over the real bottles label. Then the "massage" lotion they used was in a bottle labeled Victorias Secret Body Lotion, I don't know what it was nor do I care. I used to love this place but I won't be going back. I got there about an hour & ten minutes before they closed. They said they had time for a quick mani & pedi. Nothing difficult. Two of my toes were bleeding when I left. They put my flip flops on after they painted my toe nails. They painted my fingernails before I paid so I had to wait for them to dry enough before I could pay. One of guys who helped asked me to pay because he was leaving and I explained I couldn't do anything with wet finger nails. On top of all that, my finger nails are uneven so I had to even them out when I got home. It was THE most un-relaxing and bizarre mani & pedi I have ever had!! Just amazing! My first time here and my no chip is flawless. My 3 girlfriends and I made an appointment together on a Friday afternoon and once we got here we didn't have to wait at all after we picked our colors. Had probably one of the worst nail experiences ever. I came in to get a no chip manicure and pedi. Nails are cut uneven and toes are painted sloppily. I asked for matte nails and they're glossy. I had to put my own mattifying coat on them this morning. I asked for burgundy nails and my toe color looks ok (but sloppy) and my nails look fire engine red. The guy doing my nails kept watching football on his phone while trying to take care of me. He also kept taking off his mask to wipe his nose with his shirt and didn't wash his hands and wasn't using gloves. They also had their little girl running around, climbing on chairs, and being a huge distraction. She had her iPhone going with cartoons, the guy had football playing on his phone, and their wall tv had shows going on all super loud. Sensory overload! This was definitely not the positive and relaxing experience I wanted especially since these nails are for my wedding this weekend! Will not be returning. read more
