The inside of the restaurant was so cool, we loved the themed rooms and characters! That's why I rated it with two stars, just because of the atmosphere! Now when it came to the food... it was horrible! My brother had a cheese pizza... and it looked and tasted as if they had heated up a frozen pizza in the microwave. My husband had the brisket and it was extremely dry! I had the buffalo chicken strips and they were okay.. nothing special. For spending $15 a plate it was not worth it. We were seated after a brief wait (they don't take reservations for small parties so plan ahead or come on a slower night). We ordered pizza for the kids, fried shrimp & catfish. They came with a special trip to the salad bar which is a cute set up. The kids liked making their own salads. The food was decent. Nothing spectacular but ok. The waiters are all dressed up in characters (The Rock, Disney princesses, etc) and the kids loved that. They walked around getting autographs from all the waiters and waitresses. This is definitely a good place to take kids to but don't expect the food to be extraordinary. read more

The host was SO rude. Like inexplicably rude when I asked him politely where the guy doing caricatures was. He held his finger up at me and no one ever did find the guy. Good thing anyways bc I don't need a memory of food poisoning. The inside is really dark and seems not well kept at all. There's no theme. Creepy is all that comes to mind. Servers are all in jumbled of costumes that don't correlate at all much like the decor. There was Disney and super hero's and Alice in Wonderland? And space and crayola and busses? It's all random and outdated and not well kept up. Very dirty. This place is one of a kind disgusting. There are SO MANY bad yelp reviews and somebody keeps responding to them. Neat atmosphere. Each booth has a different theme and waiters/waitresses are in costume. The kids menu is an autograph book so that kids can get the autographs of the characters. I understand that underneath the costume they are still waiters/waitresses with a job to do, however we were in there at a time that they were not very busy. My daughter asked several characters for autographs and she was told "wait right here, I'm busy at the moment". After waiting at least 10 minutes and being passed several times the characters did not come back (and she was standing by the kitchen/ drink area where all would have to pass her). This is disappointing when it wasn't very busy and this is part of the job. It sets the kids up to be disappointed and sad. It would have been better if my daughter didn't know autographs were an option. But we didn't have that choice because it was her menu, and it was explained when she was given it. So if they want to continue that as a feature the employees need to do better. On the plus side, we had Belle and she was very attentive, and went above and beyond to help us figure out something on the menu that our 16 month old daughter could eat. We ordered steaks, ribs, pasta, and the burger (party of 7) and it was all very good. The salad car left something to be desired. The balloon animal artist and the photographer that came around were both extremely fun and personable. The kids enjoyed their magic potion drinks. That was a fun little twist. read more

An absolutely amazing "adventure" and well worth the wait! Food was okay, but the atmosphere is definitely worth the trip. Our girls (5 yrs old and twin 3 year olds) absolutely were in awe of our Halloween "spooky" pumpkin table/world. And to top it off - our server, Thor was absolutely phenomenal. Wilma from Scooby Doo, he,he looked better than the cartoon character. The Food: This is where it gets bad and very pricey, the appetizer Calamari was good but needed more marinara they give you a tiny tray. The Spinach cheese dip was not very good and was lumpy. The wife had buffalo wings, if you gonna have wings just go to the Hooters next door instead. I had the half and half chicken and ribs, what a catastrophe, dried out chicken, and dried out ribs and hardly any BBQ sauce, I wanted my 20 bucks backs, the kiddos had Alfredo pasta, that they could not finish, they both said it was not good. Magnificent!!!! I love this little eclectic restaurant soo soo much! I ordered a steak but couldn't cut it due to just having shoulder surgery so I asked if the cook could cut it for me. Well they are pretty understaffed right now so my waitress actually cut it herself! That was awesome. All of the waiters and waitresses dress up as characters and stay in character the whole time! We had no idea what Magic Time Machine was before we entered its doors. Looking back on that day, it's hilarious. And I highly recommend that you, too, go to Magic Time Machine if you have no idea what it is. Don't read any further. But being two twenty-something adults at the time, we were just looking for a place to go to dinner on a random weeknight. It started off weird. In the waiting area, we were greeted by a host that looked like Mrs. Adaams (from the Adaams family) and she was in a weird ticket-booth esque type spot, not a podium like most restaurants. We waited in an area that felt like my grandparents living room - it felt old and musty with furniture that was well worn. As soon as we were taken back to our table, we got the picture. It's a restaurant that features various characters as employees! We had the pleasure of having Mario serve us, but we really enjoyed all of the other interesting characters we saw that night. Some employees seemed more into it than others, with more or less elaborate costumes and acting depending on the person. It seems like kids get a booklet of some sort to have the "celebrities" sign their books. We LOVED chatting it up with Mario, who never broke character despite our real-world questions about his job. Instead, he mostly redirected to talking about how crappy of a plumber Luigi is. The characters are stopped by children often, so don't expect snappy service here. We both ordered the drinks that smoke & bubble, which was fun for us. The food we ordered was moderately priced and moderately tasty. The salad bar area was not up to par with what I'd expect nowadays from a salad bar, and plus, children and their hands. I'd rate my food at below par but the price reflected that. You definitely don't come here for the food. It's probably the right time in my review to state that my husband and I don't enjoy the company of kids. I will say that most of the kids running around the restaurant were fairly polite, but... yes, children run around this restaurant unattended. Ya know. Just in case you don't know. We heard the time to come back here is for karaoke on Fridays. That sounds like a BLAST, and we can't wait to check it out. But it doesn't start until 10pm, and I guess I really am getting old, because that's pretty late to start anything for me! read more

As far as the restaurant it was pretty neat, but it does need renovations badly and it had character, maybe just needs a deep deep clean, it had a old smell. The food was okay, better then expected based on the reviews as I was expecting really bad. The kids got these special drinks that bubbled because they put dry ice in it, but when our kids got theirs they had a limited supply of dry ice, so it really didn't do much.
