I ended up purchasing two sets of lightning bolt earrings with tiny stones, one pair in each gold color. She was meticulous in positioning and marking my lobes. We didn't have the original receipt and they only had the signed waivers (seriously?!?!?). The person who rang us out each time said the person who rang us out (you) must have not sent you the original receipt and the waivers aren't enough. We showed him the receipt where they fixed it a couple weeks ago and we weren't asked for documentation then and he still refused to perform the service without payment. We paid him the $65 and he told us to take it up with corporate (we will be) and kept saying how nice he was and we shouldn't be angry. The piercer had the nerve to want a tip after this interaction. Good luck with that! Niceness + incompetence doesn't = great customer service. Stay far away from this place.

For someone with metal allergies, this is a serious and potentially harmful. As for the manager -- he was rude when we walked in, didn't say hello and just asked if I had an appointment, but that paled in comparison to how he treated a grandmother who had come in excited to wait for her daughter and granddaughter for the little girl's very first ear piercing. He was really rude to her, and that's not okay. That's a memory-making moment for a family, and she deserved so much better than that.

The prices here are a bit high, in my opinion... the cheapest price for two basic, "starter" earlobe piercings was ~$110. But I feel like the price is worth it because they are super sterile, surgical-grade, extremely knowledgeable in any piercing placement, and seem like they have many years of experience, no matter which piercer you go to. They're super thorough and sterile with everything, which obviously matters most. I highly recommend and will continue to go back in the future!

Another huge plus: this was one of the few tattoo shops I found that stayed open late, which was perfect for my schedule. I am so glad that I found Magic Touch Skin Care. It has been a life changer for me! When I went for my first visit, the hair on my face grew so fast that I had to shave every morning. But I am so fair that I had patches of five o'clock shadow under my chin. What made matters worse is that the texture of my skin looked bumpy. Makeup could not even cover up the stubble and breakouts. Hormonal problems from PCOS contribute to this problem. And as I have gotten older, it has gotten worse. As a woman, it was very embarrassing!! I knew I had to do something about it! First of all, I can't say enough wonderful things about Surila. She put me at ease. She is very experienced and thorough! What impresses me most is that she is very skilled with treating ingrown hairs. Unfortunately I get a lot of them since my hair problem is mainly under my chin. I have VERY sensitive skin so I do get scabs after she has had to remove an ingrown hair. Surila told me to treat the spots with tea tree oil. Witch hazel also calms any irritation. This combination works. In a couple of days, I am left with no scars! I would recommend Surila for a man that experiences a lot of ingrowns. Secondly, the location is perfect! It is so close to work that I get electrolysis during my lunch hour-- very convenient! I tried a clinic in midtown but the location was so far out of the way. Not to mention that they did not use the blend method. It would have taken me three or four times as long to see the results I have experienced with Surila. Lastly, you will see results! I was going twice a week for three months because I had a lot of hair that was really thick and stubborn. But now the hairs are sparse and much finer. I am down to once a week and soon I will only have to go in for touch ups. I have tried electrolysis before but never had these kind of results. I plan on working on other larger areas with a combination of laser and electrolysis. I'll admit that I am not really sold on laser treatments alone but I have come to appreciate that using both together really speed up results. All I can say is that I am very happy and I trust Surila. I only wish I went to her sooner! read more

I'm in my early 30s, and I was pretty bummed that my skin clearing up (yay) coincided with lots of dark stiff hairs coming in on my chin and neck. My dermatologist recommended electrolysis for the area (I have a lot of fine hair on my face, and didn't want to shave for laser) but didn't have a person to recommend. I found someone through Yelp, but after 6 months of bi-weekly treatment, I wasn't seeing a huge improvement, was still coming in every 2 weeks, and I was kind of bummed my electrologist was slow and spent a lot of time talking on the clock (i.e. in between treating hairs). I decided to try someone else and found Magic Touch through Yelp, and it's such a difference! I've seen a pretty significant improvement after 5 months with them- when I started I was coming in every two weeks, then I switched to 3, and now have been coming in about once a month since I don't have enough hair to treat until then. I've been seeing Manjula specifically and she's great- she's very efficient and works quickly and gently (my previous electrologist left bruises from broken blood vessels several times) and can chat and work at the same time. She's treated a ton more hairs than my last electrologist in less time, and was actual excited that I noticeably had less hair coming in! The office is small but clean, and scheduling is very easy and Manjula is responsive to texts, which I appreciate. Electrolysis isn't the most pleasant experience in the world, but it does work and I'm glad I found a great electrologist! read more

Words cannot describe how blessed I am to have found Surila at Magic Touch. Although I have only gone to two electrolysis sessions so far, I have already noticed a tremendous difference. Surila is truly a miracle worker, and an incredibly kind, generous, and friendly one at that. She is extremely professional and efficient - the time flies by as you are lying down getting treated. I had previously experimented with laser hair removal about five years back, and saw little to no long term results. I decided to finally get up the courage to try electrolysis - which I was nervous about since I heard it was more painful - but I am so happy I did and so happy I am doing it at Magic Touch. Surila makes you feel extremely comfortable and at home during each session and will talk with you as she is performing the electrolysis. She has been doing this for over 30 years and it's very clear she is extremely skilled; I hardly noticed any pain despite the fact my first session was over an hour. I cannot recommend Surila at Magic Touch enough to anyone out there that has to deal with unwanted hair. You will not find a better, more professional and skilled woman in the city to perform electrolysis. I have received great results from magic touch via electrolysis hair removal from my face. My life and confidence has changed so much becuz I thought that permanent hair removal was all a dream. My dream has come to reality. I am happy to share with you that magic touch electrolysis technician Surilah is has great skills. I now have permanent hair removal. Hairs that have been gone for atleast 6 months and I have not seen them return. I am so happy when I visit magic touch now because I don't see the regrowth of the hairs that were permanently removed. Bottom liine is electrolysis does work to permanently remove hairs and the magic touch tech. Has experience and got the job done for me. I hope whoever is reading this gives magic touch a try. I've been so pleased with my experience at Magic Touch. Manjula is kind, thorough, and effective -- I've seen a dramatic improvement over the 3 months I've been going (coarse facial hairs effectively gone along with many finer ones). When I researched electrolysis options in the city, most sites suggested their specialists would address ~1 hair a minute. I'd say Manjula does 4-5x that, so I really do feel that I've been getting my money's worth. Also, Manjula is incredibly flexible -- I've had no problems securing appointments and she continues to accommodate last minute changes as my work schedule shifts. Surila is the best electrologist I've been to in NYC. I have very thick, coarse, dark hair. She's the only one to remove all the stubborn ingrown ones and never once leave a scar in the process. Magic Touch is an excellent place for electrolysis. Surilla, the owner, is very skilled and knowledgeable. My previous electrolysist used the thermolysis methdo with poor results. Surilla uses the blend method, which I find to be gentle and effective. It works well with my African American skin, and Surilla has done an excellent job clearing my skin of bumps and pimples caused by ingrown hairs. And she works hard to accomodate my schedule. I went for a Brazilian wax and I'd never had one before -- she was patient, took her time and it barely hurt (though it should be said that I have a high tolerance for pain!). (If you charge such high rates you should take credit) that's a big negative it's very inconvenient for a business in this day and age. Also she is pretty slow compared to another place I just went too. She told me she needed 15 more mins to cover the areas (chin / jaw bone area) and then the worst part .... The post treatment was nothing but witch hazel! Let me tell you from experience & knowledge that after getting laser or electrolysis one needs to have appropriate after care. She has no ice (to close pores) and no aloe Vera (to calm the skin) she just let's you walk out and what happens I get like tiny tiny white (puss filled) pimples in ever pore she took a hair out of. It was awful omg I was popping them all week. It's not right, to open the pores & not close them back up esp in nyc's pollution. I would say if you're close and have open money to spend it's fine if you're on a budget there are MUCH better places that are also cheaper. Dropped her and on to the next one :)

My last electrologist (in Queens) came highly recommended, but after 18 months I was seeing a lot of regrowth without the hair reduction that I was hoping for. On the recommendation of a friend, I visited Kathy at KB Electrolysis. Since starting with Kathy, most of the treated hairs have been eliminated. She is very personable and has great insertions with her machine. Even though Kathy uses the same machine as my previous electrologist, I now experience significantly less regrowth and no scabbing between appointments. Being a grad student, I initially hesitated to visit Kathy because her prices were more than what I was used to. However, I'm seeing significantly less hair than ever before. I honestly wish I had switched to this place sooner because Kathy's treatments work better and are therefore so much more cost effective in the long run. It pains me to think about how much money I wasted before coming here.

I called to explain and apologize, and asked if the no-show fee could be waived or the session rescheduled, given that I'd never once been late or missed an appointment in years of coming here. Both requests were declined, and I paid the fee. I understand policies exist for a reason, but I was disappointed that years of reliability didn't factor into the conversation at all. If anything, it felt like the opposite, like being a long-time client counted for less rather than more, and that keeping my business going forward wasn't a priority. Good, reasonable customer service is very important to me, more than the fee itself, and it's a real part of why I'm now looking for a new provider.

I'm at the stage where I'm really seeing a big difference in hair density, which feels amazing after being consistent with treatments. Farha is incredibly knowledgeable and always takes time to explain what's happening and answer my (many!) questions. She also has the best bedside manner. Electrolysis can be a long process, especially when you're working on larger areas like I am, and she makes the experience as comfortable as possible. I do marathon sessions on weekends (8+ hours), and she is always attentive to pain tolerance and makes adjustments so it's very manageable. On top of that, she's just a lovely person--warm, kind, and accommodating. You can tell she genuinely cares about her clients and wants them to feel safe and supported. If you're considering electrolysis, I can't recommend her enough.

I've been researching this place for years, secretly reading old and new reviews...making sure that I don't regret any decisions. I think my first consult was when I was 19 ( I am now 23 ) and I thought about it long and hard until I was 22 when I finally decided to go for it. I have ZERO regrets. The only thing I probably regret is not doing this sooner. I started out wanting to do my arms only...then I started laser on my armpits...then electrolysis for facial hair....then nape.....and now brazilian. (soon to come: legs!) After 2 sessions my arm hair was mostly gone - i know this varies per person, but I'm glad I was able to see results right away. My armpit hair grew back MUCH thinner after the FIRST session. Electrolysis is painful....don't let anyone tell you otherwise - BUT if you keep thinking "you're gone for good now, sucker!" about those little hairs being zapped away - you'll make it through and you'll love the results til the day you die (even your afterlife, if you're into that kinda thing). I've been meaning to review this place for a year now, but what finally gave me the push to do it was my electrolysis session yesterday. I let my whiskers grow out for about two weeks and my eyebrows as well....Sapna took care of (I would say) about 80% of it (again, varies per person) in 30 minutes and one day later I am just STOKED about NEVER having to do my eyebrows or whiskers EVER again. But once Sapna spoke with me at length about the procedure and what to expect, she got right down to the get down for my armpits and let me tell you - it hurt like an old school whooping. Yet, it was only about 30 seconds (no numbing cream) under each arm and before you know it I was done. She was extremely professional and patient with all of my questions (I can be annoying at times), and this is something that I truly do appreciate. So her spot is all about the no frills...so what? It's neat, it's clean, and the equipment is state of the art - that's what matters in my book. Oh, and after a couple of weeks when I didn't see any difference in my hair growth I thought, "I've been bamboozled!!" Sure enough though, a week and a half later, my underarms are practically hairless, and that's after only one session. So I say to you, be patient...you will see results soon enough. I have two more sessions left and I'm more than confident that I will be completely bare.
