Do not eat here! I ordered the "Bourbon Chicken," and when I got my food, the "bourbon chicken" looked nothing like chicken and did not taste like chicken at all. My wife ordered the Kung Pao Chicken, and same thing. The "chicken" tasted chewy and gummy and when I brought it up to the manager (see photo) she stated that this is "our bourbon chicken" and that "it's different from other places. When I asked for my refund, she denied me my refund! She would not give me money back and said that "just because I didn't like it, doesn't mean I am entitled to a refund." They did not have a "no refunds" sign or anything indicating that all sales are final and nothing that stated that the customer is not entitled to a refund. I don't know what other reason you need other than "I didn't like it" to get a refund. But I was robbed of my money and I didn't even eat the food because it was completely disgusting. I needed to grab a quick bite, but didn't want fast food. I stopped into the Magic Wok. The atmosphere is awful and it was stifling hot. The lady taking orders was not friendly or appreciative at all despite me being as polite as possible. The broccoli with beef was hot, but lack flavor, the fried rice was dry and hard, the chicken egg roll was hot and probably the best thing on the plate. Well let me say. We were so hungry that we got back opened up togo boxes and chowed down so fast that I forgot to take food photos. Haha. Darn it. Might have to go back there sometime real soon. We ordered #1 & # 8. General Taos, chicken, and sesame chicken . Both lunch specials came with rice and a soda pop. I don't drink soda so I gave my wife the 2 Dr. peppers. Anyways food was excellent. Service was good and fast. I read all the reviews after ordering and before we ate. So I was a little iffy. But let me tell you. Our experience was excellent. Food was outstanding. We definitely enjoyed our lunch special meals. So I guess the lesson here is no matter what somebody else's review is, yours might be very different than theirs. Have an experience of your own. -New guest wanting to try this place could be deterred by the the previous reviews that are not so good. But hopefully with my great experience maybe people won't be so iffy on it I hope. The lady or staff in most of the reviews say unfriendly unwelcoming service but maybe she speaks little bit of the english common language? The only "magic " they have is the art of being extremely rude. The health department of this place should be called on this "establishment " I witnessed the staff handling raw chicken with no gloves, the bathroom was filthy with old urine stains covering the floor, absolutely filthy there was no clean surfaces at all, dirty tables and when I went to grab the salt shaker to add a little bit of flavor to a horrible tasting dish it slipped out of my hand because it was covered in oil. 16 March 18 Fort Myers , Fl. My friend and I went to Magic Wok today for lunch as it is located near his place of employment. I ordered the Sweet & Sour Shrimp while my friend ordered the Cashew Chicken. His dish looked pretty good and he said it was delicious. My Shrimp with sauce and white rice on the side was excellent. This was our first ever visit to the Magic Wok and it left me with a good taste in my mouth. I might just return sometime to try the cashew chicken as my friend gave it a thumbs up. The place is casual and small with only 5 or 6 booths available for seating. There is plenty of parking available as the place is located next to a Publix store. Went here with my gf the other day and walked in to a lady at the front almost mean mugging us. We ordered fried rice chicken wings and lo mein and all of it wasn't good at all. I can't tell if she purposely didn't fry our rice but it was hard and flavorless on top of the shrimp almost tasting like it came right out the package and she served it to us. The lo mein somehow had zero flavor also and the only part of the meal that was actually decent was the pork egg rolls. I'm not even one to leave reviews but man the food was bad especially for what we paid for. Yesterday we not only witnessed one of the cooks out back having a cigarette break to return to cooking without washing his hands and not wearing a face mask, always touching his face and nasty dirty self looks like a shower is in need. We had gone to Publix to get dinner and unable to decide what we wanted we chose to just grab some Chinese food. Wish we wouldn't have chosen this place. We walked in and the lady behind the register was rude. Did not make eye contact, answer my questions about the size of lo me in they had, and was just ignoring us all together. At one point I asked her if she was ok, if I had done something wrong... no she was just rude. The food was the same, horrible. There was too much fish oil or something in their sesame chicken combo and the lo mein smells like ass. I will not be eating that. All in all, horribly rude and food was horrible as well. DO NOT GO HERE I bought a shrimp dinner here tonight drove home. The shrimp was rotten. I called to say I was unhappy and the proprietor said I had to bring it back tonight (it is 10 after 9 PM) and HE would decide if the shrimp was bad and then cook me another. Decided on Chinese food for New Year's Day but our usual go to place was closed. Had to go to Publix too and saw this place next door. Ordered over $40.00 of food for four people, paid the bill, and got home looking forward to a good dinner - obviously not reading Yelp comments first. Rule number one - always check your order before leaving the restaurant. Missing was one of the main orders - moo goo gai pan along with all the packages of duck sauce, hot mustard, and soy sauce. We did qualify for a free order of crab Rangoon but we were not told about free 12 oz soda that went with two of the combination plates. It was too far to go back and we were all hungry so we chalked it up to lesson learned. As to the food itself, the spareribs were burnt, fatty, and grizzly. Pork lo mein was excellent and a very large order with nice slivers of pork. Sweet and sour chicken, steamed shrimp and vegetables, and beef with broccoli were also good but not outstanding. At first, I assumed it was our dog's hair because we were sitting on the couch with him, but then my boyfriend got a longer piece and then I noticed yet another.. Just so there's NO misunderstanding about whether or not this is an "old" review, today is Saturday, September 19th, 2015. I had hoped for a higher quality and tastier fare than what was offered by this restaurant. I've ordered more than a few items from their kitchen, each time hoping to finally find the dish they're good at! I think I'm over that fruitless mission. I went home with an over priced order of bourbon chicken thinking this place has GOT to be better than the food court places at the Mall, right? (Eyes clinched shut, head wagging, fists balled tightly near my face as if to battle the onslaught of a migraine) OH MY GOSH, was I wrong!!! It was horrible! The greasy lo mein noodles I was charged $1.50 more for tasted like the sad salvages of a pot that was left to burn on the stove for a half an hour. The heavily dyed red, dry chicken had nearly NO flavor even after trying to coat each bite with the stuff resembling sauce, which had less flavor than the chicken. I don't even understand how that's possible but, Magic Wok managed to pull it off. An egg roll and 3 sprigs of broccoli were the ONLY things from this order not worth chucking into the garbage. Short version- you are better off eating a frozen microwave entree than ordering from here. Where to begin... we accidentally ordered online from this place instead of one of our regular places.  When we realized this and made our way there, our food should have been ready (almost 30 minutes had passed and we ordered two dishes). The rude woman working there, sitting on her but, watching the flies fly and not caring about how disgustingly dirty the place was (maybe she did not notice as it was obviously a reflection of who she was as a person) began to argue with us.   First she said that we did not order, then that we did not pay, and only after showing her our online receipt started cooking our food while mumbling to herself and giving me dirty looks.   Needless to say, the food was trash.  The taste was horrible and the vegetables they used were still frozen. Plenty of shrimp and the veggies were fresh. I didn't find the meat stringy. It was decent The teenager at the cashier counter doesn't have the most pleasant customer service attitude, but he wasn't rude either. Just looked bored and forced to be there by family. Magic Wok gets three stars. As some people have already said, the little shit that runs the register is depressed or something, rude and most times ignores you as you stand there. He often gets the orders wrong, so if many of you have bad tasting food, it's just wrong sauce or cooking method, or both. Only once I've walked out after standing there with no one around for 15 minutes. He has a white laptop that looks nice, that is covered in Saran Wrap. The food is not bad.
