I was looking for somewhere to have a nice easy lunch. There's a restaurant that faces the street that I go to quite often. As I drove around the building, I discovered this Chinese buffet. As I said in the parking lot and I pulled up the reviews, I was very hesitant walking in. But I decided I'm going to make my own evaluation. As I walked in, I was greeted by a very nice young lady. She took my drink order and I proceeded to the buffet. Everything was very fresh steaming hot and the buffet looked great with a very large selection of different items. I tried different items from each tray. They were all delicious. Everything was fresh, hot and very tasty. I didn't notice that employees would exchange the food out and the food that was there. They were constantly stirring it so that the bottom half that is hot, they would rotate it. The desert buffet is limited but more than adequate. When I did enter the restaurant, there was only a couple of other people, but as I ate more and more came in and as I left, there were several people there for lunch. It was a great experience. I plan on returning. It is difficult to locate the restaurant. You have to drive in between two different locations. They have ample parking. There's a lot of shopping in the area. I would highly recommend that if you're gonna go to any buffet that you goduring the times of 11 to 2 and probably 4 to 6. I got there right at 11:30 and as I said everything was as fresh as it could be expected to be. I say great job to their team.

A very underrated restaurant. Friendly staff and fresh food keeps coming out. Food is excellent. Clean establishment. Also noted to be doing everything possible amidst the current pandemic.

Excellent Chinese food. Not sure why some have such low ratings. Owners are very nice.

Food is good for the price, especially for lunch. Battered shrimp is particularly good. Staff keeps the place clean, are all great folks.

The only thing I wasn't a fan of was the coleslaw it didn't taste like a traditional coleslaw and just wasn't for me. My husband ordered the fish and chips and said it was one of the best he's had in a very long time. The service was excellent, and everyone was so accommodating with our 11 month old, which made a big difference. Also, if you like cocktails, order the "I Don't Give a F...ort Myers." You tell the bartender your liquor of choice, and they make you a custom drink. Such a fun concept, and ours turned out great. We'll definitely be back!

People without reservations (I know this bc I dropped my party off and parked the car and walked in and heard ppl walk up and say they didn't have a reservation) were given a nice table by the window. Pretty annoying to watching the staff all laughing and joking around and not paying attention as we are trying to eat and then waiting around for a box and the bill. Staff should be out in the open more often and checking on their table. Not coming 1x during your whole meal and hiding behind the walls. The Gulf Coast Cioppino is an attempt on Asian flavors, but in a seafood/italian style/vibe. Idk. Lemongrass needed more flavor. If you didn't eat everything all together it seemed like it didn't balance well. Overall it was okay, but I would not order again. The triggerfish sandwich was probably the best food served for the evening. Ahi tuna nachos, tuna was tasty, but was the size of an appetizer in my opinion for $22. Oxbow pork belly - Tasty flavor but a little dried out/over cooked. Needed that coleslaw to help hydrate it. Amazing location and view of the water. Gift shop area as you walk in is a little weird and random. Felt like I was walking through Cracker Barrel to get to the hostess. I Have wanted to try this place for years. Guess I should have read other reviews first on what foods are said to be best. Only thing we would order again would be the fish sandwich. Maybe one day we will come back and try the other food that people talk more about.

We opted to sit at the bar and ordered a mix of plates to share: Ceviche shooters -- refreshing and full of flavor. Hot honey chicken sandwich -- sweet, spicy, and perfectly crispy. Grouper tacos -- light, fresh, and delicious. The food was excellent across the board, but the service was truly outstanding -- warm, attentive, and welcoming

Let me start with the good: this place has ambiance. Sleek granite countertops, copper salt and…read morepepper mills, that upscale-casual waterfront vibe without the water-- Oar & Iron looks the part. But looks, my friends, will only get you so far. Before we even get to the food, let's address the strangest thing I've ever encountered at a restaurant: there is no complimentary water. None. You want water? That'll be two dollars per person--for filtered water. Not bottled Evian. Not fancy sparkling from the Alps. They're filtering tap water and charging you two bucks a head for it. I've dined at a lot of places, and I have genuinely never seen this move. We passed on principle--but imagine sitting down for a nice meal and being told basic hydration is an upcharge. Absolutely bizarre. We kicked things off with the calamari, served up on a long plate with a creamy dipping sauce. Crispy, decent flavor, no complaints on execution. But the portion? Twenty-one dollars. Twenty-one dollars for what amounts to about five bites each if you're splitting it. At that price point, I'm expecting a generous pile of golden fried goodness, not a modest arrangement that leaves you still hungry. The short rib gnocchi had promise--rich, beefy flavor in that sauce, pillowy gnocchi, fresh parsley and shaved parm on top. It wanted to be a star. But here's the thing: half the short rib pieces were more fat than meat, and the portion left us wondering if the kitchen was rationing. Good bones on this dish, but it needs more love in the execution. Now, my wife's scallop risotto. Beautiful presentation--golden seared scallops perched on creamy rice with fresh arugula. Looks like a magazine cover, right? Wrong. It arrived missing ingredients. Just... incomplete. And that's where service comes in. Speaking of which: our server was MIA for the first half of the meal. Questions unanswered, that "are we invisible?" energy. Things improved later, but first impressions matter, and ours was rough. The Verdict: Oar & Iron wants to play in the upscale dining league, but it's not earning the price of admission. No free water--and charging for filtered tap? A $21 appetizer that barely qualifies as a snack? Fatty short ribs, an incomplete dish, and a server who forgot we existed the first half of our meal? This one drops to two stars. Style over substance, and not enough of either.
