Amazing service, and delicious food! I requested my hash browns to be extra crispy on both sides (you can't over cook them for me) and they came out barely cooked. I asked the waitress if there was any way they could be cooked more as I hadn't touched them and she said she told the chef she didn't think the hash browns were cooked enough. She brought them back to the kitchen and a little later the chef himself came out with them to make sure they were done to my liking and they were perfect. He was delightful. All the staff was wonderful and on it. Our server (I wish I could recall her name) kept the water and coffee filled up and it was really busy! I would definitely recommend stopping at Magnolia Cafe. It's a great place to start the day after a concert at the Choctaw Casino the night before, or for any reason...Just go! You won't be disappointed. read more

We're here visiting from Texas and found this wonderful breakfast spot. Service is the best. Our waitress was outstanding and so were the guys in the kitchen. (Emily was waitress, according to receipt.) My wife sent her hash browns back because she likes them almost burnt. The gentleman from the kitchen made sure my wife was happy. I like to eat lite, so a lot of green leaf salads. But, quality lettuce is hard to find in many resturant s, But Magnolia had the prettiest salad with the "good" lettuce! YAY! No belching iceburg!! While my hubby is a fan of their catfish (especially when it is all-you-can eat! My brother ordered the Mushroom Swiss Burger which had maybe the best fries I've ever had - they were thin and extremely crispy with the perfect crunch to potato ratio. I got the chicken fried steak w a pancake on the side. The pancakes were extremely tasty with a classic diner buttermilk taste. The chicken fried steak was exactly what I expected and had a good crunch from the batter without being too thick or oily. The hashbrowns could've been a bit more crispy but the over easy eggs were cooked perfectly! My sister got the Jackpot combo which came with two slices of bacon, two slides of sausage, a piece of ham, 2 eggs, hash browns, and 2 pancakes. I was impressed with the portion sizes and the reasonable pricing - it was refreshing to have a good deal compared to Austin dining prices! Not wanting to eat Whataburger or at the casino we headed to Magnolias for breakfast in the evening on a weekday. I got the cinnamon French toast with double bacon instead of sausage and bacon. The toast was really good. Eggs cooked as asked for and bacon crispy. The staff were all friendly. Service good. The restaurant was clean. Food good . Portions decent. Prices reasonable. Only downside is no real butter. I'd pay for real butter. But for some reason everywhere in Durant likes to use margarine. 5/5 I'd eat here again read more

Ambiance is tasteful and welcoming. Our Service was impeccable (I wish I could remember her name). And the food was served up hot, quick and really good. I had the liver & onions with mashed potatoes, brown gravy, peas & carrots, with Texas toast. Hubby had, chicken fried steak with mashed taters, cream gravy, pinto beans, and Texas toast. We did a good job on those plates considering they both came with a nice fresh salad before the meal. Better than Expected! Nice clean breakfast place. Service was great! Our Farmers Skillets were served up hot and fast and were really delicious. It comes with biscuit or toast but they were happy to substitute sliced tomatoes for us. They also had my favorite condiment Chalula upon request. Coffee was good and served with a small selection of little creamers. They kept the iced tea coming for my hubby too. The owner is a nice lady who took the time to speak with us and told us about how she came to live here in Durant all the way from Yugoslavia! Tried this new restaurant in Durant, Oklahoma with my daughter, son in law, and GRAND baby. We were immediately seated and handed menus. Drink orders followed quickly as we tried to determine what to eat. We all chose something different and each meal was fantastic. My daughter had the fried catfish. Along with french fries and green beans. I had the chopped steak with mashed potatoes, gravy, and fried okra. So good! My son in law had the chicken fried chicken. His sides were mashed potatoes and red beans. Each meal came with Texas Toast. Everything was hot and delicious. No complaints at all. I always want dessert, but never save room. Hopefully next time, as we will definitely return! They also serve breakfast for lunch as well. I will be trying that out too. Thought about stopping in here before heading back on a long trip because we saw good reviews. Mexican skillet was decent. jalepenos were nice and spicy, asked for over easy eggs and got over medium. Overall not much flavor past the jalepenos. Fiance got the breakfast tacos and they were okay as well. Something was off about the salsa. The service was not the same as previous reviews we had read. It was very slow and it took over an hour to get our food. It was one older lady serving our section and she just couldn't keep up. Maybe it was just an off day but the reviews did not match our experience. read more
