I grew up in Bennettsville , but been living in Las Vegas since 1991. I visit the Carolinas about every 2 to 3 years now to see family and friends. I remember when this used to be the Sanitary Cafe and Harry ran the place. He had a small display case with some of his old military stuff in it from when he was in World War 2. I was happy to see the stainless steel wall cover still there behind the counter. I met a friend of mine for lunch on my way to Myrtle Beach. We've been friends since 3rd Grade ! I had the Country Ham Plate with Mac-n-Cheese , Mashed Potatoes and Gravy , Roll , and Sweet Tea. He had the Patty Melt with Fries. I love getting Country Ham when I come home to visit because we can't get it in Las Vegas. It was good , but I have to say the portion was a little smaller than I expected. The Mashed Potatoes and Gravy was good , but the Mac-n-Cheese I didn't really care for. Sweet Tea was on point. My friend liked his Patty Melt and fries. He knew our waitress and she was nice enough to take a picture of us. Bennettsville is still the small town community that I remember and grew up in. I would love to see it grow again like many places have even though all the jobs moved away years ago when the factories moved overseas. My father and I walked the streets of Bennettsville everyday after he got off work and we visited many of the shopkeepers after his first heart attack to give him some exercise. He grew up in Bennettsville and never moved as many of the people that he grew up with. Bennettsville was a tight knit community then and I know the ones that I grew up with still have this place in their heart even being thousands of miles away like me. read more

Cheers to Yelp for helping me find this local gem! On the road from the beach, we arrived just in time for lunch. Burger, chicken tenders, patty melt, and crispy Cobb salad satisfied the crew. There were more fries then we could eat and also a side of "corn puffs" like a corn pudding tot! Also have to mention the desserts! Cakes and pies, we ended up with the chocolate cake, something like 17 layers? Like a delicious chocolate cloud! So great, glad we stopped. Clean bathrooms and friendly waitstaff! I definitely needed to update my review for Magnolia on Main. This isn't a high-end fancy restaurant. It isn't even a trendy bistro. Magnolia on Main is more like a good old country café. I rate restaurants for what they are and for a good old country café. Magnolia on Main is an excellent southern cafe. The food here is absolutely fantastic. I typically get salads for lunch when I come here but I have had their wraps which are delicious. Today I had the blue plate special which was chicken pot pie. It came with a side and a roll. There are numerous sides from which to choose. One of them is deviled eggs. The deviled eggs have a little bit of relish, mixed in with the yolks. Absolutely delicious. The chicken pot pie, although a small portion, was seasoned beautifully, and had an incredible amount of flavor with large chunks of chicken. While the portion was small, it was perfect for lunch. This is my go to restaurant when I am in Bennettsville. read more

Absolutely delightful! Stopped for lunch on our way out from Myrtle Beach. We had the chicken salad plate, Salisbury steak, and kids chicken finger plate, added a side of pimento cheese and slice of coconut cake. It was all delicious! Highly recommend, would definitely go back! read more

Got the hamburger steak special today. Ordered it all the way. Crispy but juicy patty with a melted slice of cheddar on it which was new to me. Onions peppers and mushrooms with a good gravy covering it all. It was great. 10/10. Mash potatoes as a side were home made and great. And then I got the onion rings and they were also great. Magnolia is the perfect downtown cafe. The menu has a variety for everyone and new specials everyday. The owner has lived in, and traveled to, a variety of places and pulls fun flavors from all over the map. The food is delicious every time we go. read more

It took an hour and 15 minutes to get our food. Yes, an hour to get a cold spinach salad with a cold chicken breast and a hamburger and onion rings. The ambiance was nice, waitress brought lots of refills, but it took too long for the food. read more

I had their daily special, which was pork chops. I am not usually a huge fan of pork, but they really looked great - and they tasted as good as they looked. This place is unbelievably slow. It is breakfast for crying out loud. How long does it take to fry an egg??? Here it takes well over an hour. In doing so the staff does not provide any updates. I do not recommend this place unless you have an extra 3 hours in your day. We finally bailed because she said it would be another 45 minutes until our breakfast would be ready. They started closing the restaurant and placing chairs on top of the tables while 5 different parties were still waiting for their food. This has nothing to do with the pandemic and shortage of staff. Mismanagement and kitchen staff not knowing how to cook. read more

Some locals told me this was "the" place to go for breakfast. Good call! I went on a Saturday morning. For breakfast I had scrambled eggs, country ham, hash browns, grits, and biscuit. Food was ready quickly. Country ham was good - not over salty as I have experienced in some places. Grits were OK, not as thick and almost tasted like instant grits. Decor was very nice. Magnolia tablecloths, real plates and utensils instead of plastic. Good steady stream of locals. As one lady was leaving, she stopped and spoke to me. "You must be a stranger in town" she said. On the way home decided to stop at a little diner/cafe on Main Street. Cute little place & seems to be the locals favorite. I had chicken salad plate & hubby had 2 hot dogs & fries. Chicken salad was way I like it not too much mayo so I was pleased it overall. It's a very quaint local place. We both say 3 1/2 for food but upped to 4 because of cute little town. read more

I've made this restaurant a weekly lunch stop because the food and service are great. The wait staff are friendly and what you would expect from a good Southern Restaurant. The food is high quality and the desserts are out of this world. Today they had 5 different bakery quality made cakes and they were: Strawberry Lemonade, 12 layer Chocolate, Key Line, Carmel and Chocolate and I think it was a Mocha. Magnolia was great- super-clean, friendly and lovely. We had the chicken n dumpling special of the day that came with 2 sides for $6.95. Both the corn pie and turnip greens we chose were excellent. The homemade cakes displayed in cake savers on the diner style counter looked too good to resist. We tried the red velvet, which was good, but we probably should've taken our server's advice and tried the pineapple. For great southern ambiance and hospitality, as well as good home cooking, you won't find a better place than Magnolia on Main. read more

We drive from Greensboro to Myrtle Beach quite often. This cute restaurant is about a half mile off the route and so much better than the MCD, KFC, Subway options down the road. Good meats and veggies, salads and homemade soups. read more

Very nice place for lunch in a sea of fast food chains on the way to Myrtle Beach. We had our Yorkie with us and sat outside in a nice seating area. Staff was super friendly and attentive. The had a wide variety of diner staples (burgers, sandwiches) as well as Classic American specials. read more

We were just passing through Bennettsville, and found this super-quaint place. The staff was very friendly. The pancakes and eggs were good. The breakfast sausage was clearly home made, and had great flavor (hints of rosemary), but unfortunately wasn't served hot. magnolia on main is actually one of my favorite breakfast spots to take my mom whenever I'm in town. However, my last visit was less than great. Hard hash browns, cold veggies in the hash browns, undercooked grits, and toast cooked on a grill instead of in the toaster. I left there very unsatisfied for the money I paid for breakfast. Seems like they changed cooks or something. Not sure of if and when I will go back. read more
