We came here because not much else was open in this quiet southern town. Waitress was really good…read moreand made sure our drinks were always full. The food was good. I tried a deep fried deviled egg for the first time and it was good! My dinner was a prime rib cheese steak and it was good. My son used the bathroom and came out saying it was gross with bugs and cob webs. It was just a good place...nothing special. Prices were pretty good too! One issue...serving appetizers with main course drives me nuts!

But, I can tell you all about the service and encourage you to make good choices in how you decide to have epicurean adventures that also support your local economy. My dining companion & I walked into an uncrowded restaurant with many unclean dining tables. We were then greeted by a hostess coughing into her hand while encouraging us to choose where we wanted to sit. We opted for the bar, in hopes of not experiencing anything touched by the coughing hostess. However, when I politely asked the bartender if she minded wiping our area down...due to the large crumbs sitting in front of my dining companion...she not quite as politely informed me that she had "just wiped it down but would do it again." At that point, I knew it was time to go. Anyone who follows me here knows that I am an avid foodie & supporter of small businesses. However, I do not stay where I am not welcomed & will absolutely not set foot back in this establishment again.

No greeting, no acknowledgement whatsoever. Male employee counting dollar bills on counter. Did not say anything to me. I requested my curbside order. Told 'when I've done counting". Um, No! Got my order. No apology for not being brought to curbside. No thank you. Nothing. Food:- Orders pork belly tacos with FFs. $10.99. 2 small soft taco with 3 inch strip of pork, queso, pico and spicy ranch. Flavorless is an understatement. Only thing that had any taste was the question which dominated the dish. No pico or spicy ranch anywhere. FFs were cold and soggy. Also ordered the half BBQ chicken plate with 2 sides and hushpuppies and choice of sauce. $13.99 I went with collard greens and onion rings. Again food was cold. The hushpuppies would have made great golf balls. The collars were swimming in juice despite me requested they be drained well. The chicken had a good tangy glaze, unfortunately it was only on the skin which was not crispy but rather soft and unappealing. The chicken itself was reasonably tender seeing how it was cold. The BBQ sauce had not flavored the chicken meat which lacked any flavor at all. I had requested silverware, napkins etc along with my choice of BBQ sauce. All of which were missing from my order. To sum up. Poor service, lack of attention to order requirements, food not kept under warmer, overpriced and most importantly, flavorless. Doubt I will recommend to any family and friends.

We were in the area and decided to try Ruth's Drive In. I was expecting a bright green building,…read moreand was surprised by a demure off white building, we nearly passed it. My husband and I got out of our car and were met with an employee who pleasantly asked us to move to the other side of the building, so she can serve us better. This employee didn't give us her name, but she gave us a menu and explained the Big Hot and Little Hot, she wore a mask the whole time. Due to Covid, they were not seating indoors, she would deliver our food to the vehicle. One young man pulled up beside us on a bicycle and he, too waited outside, while his beverage was made and delivered to him (see photo). She also remarked that this restaurant has been in business for 75 years and they sell 100 lbs. of hamburgers daily. I ordered a half Doc Hot and my husband ordered a full Doc Hot. Our bag was brought out to the vehicle and we left, not wanting to eat in our vehicle. We had a 25 minute drive back to where we were staying and we opened our bag to find our food relatively still warm enough to eat without needing to microwave. My Half Hot was 5 oz. burger on one slice bread, coated with carmelized onions and gravy. My French Fries were still warm enough to enjoy and coated with gravy. Both items were delicious, although after eating our meal, I did note that I had a strong salty flavor in my mouth. I hadn't noticed any greasiness to the burger at all. My husbands order was exactly the same, except he ordered a Big Hot, he received exactly the same as mine but with two burger patties. He didn't receive the two slices of bread he was told he would. All in all this was a nice, nostalgic place to dine at and the food is inexpensive and good. If you're on a salt restricted diet, I would not recommend. The food did not taste overtly salty at the time we were eating, but it was noted on my tongue after the fact. We enjoyed our meals and will go back.
