The Broccoli Bites were very flavorful. They were made from Broccoli Bits that were wrapped in flavored cornmeal and fried. I had the Mint Julep and the Bourbon Smash as cocktails. The Bourbon Smash was a special made with Bourbon and smashed Maraschino Cherries and a dash of Cherry Juice. It was very refreshing. My partner had the Lemon Blueberry Mojito which was also a perfect drink for a hot summer day. Our meals consisted of the Seafood Pasta and the Barramundi. The Seafood Pasta was a large bowl filled with pasta, shrimp and scallops. The Barramundi was a nice sized piece of white flaky fish that was seasoned just right. This has become a go-to dining spot in Hartsville for my family.

Our calamari was under cooked and some of the flower was sticky and gooey the result of under cooking. The lobster roll....was just ok ...nothing to write home about . On a roll about 5" long with some lobster meat . The baby back ribs ..SOME OF THE WORST i have had. Definitely not flaking off the bone. As a matter of fact they were dry and chewey. Not at all tender. And as a note to management: throwing a lot of sauce on top doesn't make the ribs underneath any better. These were not freshly cooked. I will not be back......

We came here because not much else was open in this quiet southern town. Waitress was really good…read moreand made sure our drinks were always full. The food was good. I tried a deep fried deviled egg for the first time and it was good! My dinner was a prime rib cheese steak and it was good. My son used the bathroom and came out saying it was gross with bugs and cob webs. It was just a good place...nothing special. Prices were pretty good too! One issue...serving appetizers with main course drives me nuts!

But, I can tell you all about the service and encourage you to make good choices in how you decide to have epicurean adventures that also support your local economy. My dining companion & I walked into an uncrowded restaurant with many unclean dining tables. We were then greeted by a hostess coughing into her hand while encouraging us to choose where we wanted to sit. We opted for the bar, in hopes of not experiencing anything touched by the coughing hostess. However, when I politely asked the bartender if she minded wiping our area down...due to the large crumbs sitting in front of my dining companion...she not quite as politely informed me that she had "just wiped it down but would do it again." At that point, I knew it was time to go. Anyone who follows me here knows that I am an avid foodie & supporter of small businesses. However, I do not stay where I am not welcomed & will absolutely not set foot back in this establishment again.

We were in the area and decided to try Ruth's Drive In. I was expecting a bright green building,…read moreand was surprised by a demure off white building, we nearly passed it. My husband and I got out of our car and were met with an employee who pleasantly asked us to move to the other side of the building, so she can serve us better. This employee didn't give us her name, but she gave us a menu and explained the Big Hot and Little Hot, she wore a mask the whole time. Due to Covid, they were not seating indoors, she would deliver our food to the vehicle. One young man pulled up beside us on a bicycle and he, too waited outside, while his beverage was made and delivered to him (see photo). She also remarked that this restaurant has been in business for 75 years and they sell 100 lbs. of hamburgers daily. I ordered a half Doc Hot and my husband ordered a full Doc Hot. Our bag was brought out to the vehicle and we left, not wanting to eat in our vehicle. We had a 25 minute drive back to where we were staying and we opened our bag to find our food relatively still warm enough to eat without needing to microwave. My Half Hot was 5 oz. burger on one slice bread, coated with carmelized onions and gravy. My French Fries were still warm enough to enjoy and coated with gravy. Both items were delicious, although after eating our meal, I did note that I had a strong salty flavor in my mouth. I hadn't noticed any greasiness to the burger at all. My husbands order was exactly the same, except he ordered a Big Hot, he received exactly the same as mine but with two burger patties. He didn't receive the two slices of bread he was told he would. All in all this was a nice, nostalgic place to dine at and the food is inexpensive and good. If you're on a salt restricted diet, I would not recommend. The food did not taste overtly salty at the time we were eating, but it was noted on my tongue after the fact. We enjoyed our meals and will go back.

Not swayed by the bad reviews, I wanted to try this place out. It sounded like burgers and shakes…read moremade like five guys. Not entirely true. The first thing I noticed was there were only like 5 massive round tables in the place. I assume they don't get a lot of dine-in customers, but I would expect that could be an issue when they do. I looked at the menu and ordered a small cheeseburger, Cajun fries, and a pineapple shake. I asked for the fries to be "like, extra extra extra crispy" because I hate limp fries everyone seems to be pushing these days. After I ordered, I noticed there was another menu off to the side with a way better deal for the same things I ordered. I would have liked for the guy working the register to automatically fix that for me. I ended up paying around $5 more because I'd never been there before and didn't pay attention. I saw they had Cheerwine and was pretty excited for that, as no one I know of in Ohio has it in a restaurant. Unfortunately, I gave up pop for lent, so I didn't have any. The burger was good and fresh, though tiny. The fries were not crispy enough, but the cook was nice enough to ask if they were fine and I didn't have the heart to tell him no. The shake was fantastic! I wish I could have drank it all, but I was so full from water and the food. These guys deserve a 3, but I gave them a 4 because the cook was super nice.
