A friend and I had breakfast at this restaurant because it was free for guests who stayed at the hotel across the street. The buffet menu had regular breakfast food: fruit, yogurt, grits, sausage, sausage gravy, turkey bacon and sausage, corned beef hash and scrambled eggs. The meal included one free beverage. Can't complain since it was free. The buffet was served cafeteria style. The waitress Sandy was very friendly and attentive. The ambiance was very relaxed and casual. Overall the experience was satisfying --nothing fancy. Will be back since we have another free breakfast tomorrow. I'm not sure of the price. Try looking that up on their website. read more

Wonderful food- buffet, great service - our server was happy, speedy and brought coffee quickly. All you can Eat. We got to pick and choose in the buffet line, fresh made, good quality and the chefs dish it up on your plate. You carry your full plate back to your table. Normally, I get too much, but this time I selected just what I would eat. I asked for a few things that were new to me. I was down in Myrtle Beach, SC visiting the folks and since my Mother had an event of her own that night, my Pop and I decided to go to get something to eat just the two of us. Truth be told there is no shortage of places to dine in Myrtle Beach and for me, I always like to try a new place since it gives me food photos, a new experience and of course the chance to offer up a Yelp narrative and hopefully inspire the masses or heaven forbid, steer people away from the terrible. Pop and I were sat quickly and handed the menu in case we wanted from there over the buffet options but that was what we were here for. We were mostly there based on meatloaf being one of the options that particular night and I was looking forward to something hearty this evening. I made two trips to the buffet line and can say that Magnolia's does this a little differently. The customer doesn't serve themselves but the staff works the line and passes your plate down where each staffer will load up what you ask for. I imagine that this keeps the trays of food neater and not looking like a disaster. Among the choices I made were the mashed potatoes, some mac n cheese, green beans, the meatloaf, a piece of fish and some battered shrimp. All of it was very tasty and I didn't need to go back for a third visit of that stuff but did for the dessert which was banana pudding. I couldn't recall ever having that but I am sure that I did at some point in life. The place wasn't crowded at the time we went and our timing was to hopefully beat the incoming rain which we did not. Once we got outside it had started and by the time we were halfway back it was horrible. That's South Carolina for you though. It will be nice and then rain like nothing you've seen before only to clear up like it never happened. Went back to Magnolias for lunch. I was not happy, cause I had a snack before we went. Fried chicken, the colonel thinks he knows about finger licking chicken, and the hamburger steak in gravy was out of this world. What a nice buffet!! My friend and I were staying at a condo nearby which offered breakfast vouchers each morning. The breakfast buffet was better than the quality you would find in a hotel and the staff serves everything for you so there's no mess or germ issues. Coffee is poured hot and fresh at your table by the wonderful waitstaff. Really nice spot to take your family as they can accommodate larger tables but you may have to wait to be seated. It was clean and really convenient to the beach. Be sure to bring some cash to tip your lovely servers! read more

The website says $11.99 for week day buffet which we thought was fair but they said their website is not updated and it's $15.99. $8 per kid, 5 and under was $6. I come home frequently to Myrtle Beach and I always eat at Magnolia's, it is my favorite place to eat, the food is outstanding, I love it, now I want to eat breakfast, lunch, and dinner there. Such a disappointment! I've always bragged about this place and brought my out of town guests here. The booths were so uncomfortable, you could feel the springs poking through the vinal seats. We found this place right down the block from our hotel. It's quiet and small and very clean. There is a menu you can order from, but they also have an all-you-can-eat country-cookin' buffet. My hubby got the chicken tenders and I got the buffet: I had greens and Lima beans, Mac and cheese, yams and fried chicken. It was so delicious!! Our service was good-Josh did a great job!! Just okay. Food was okay. Had the buffet. The eggs were perfect and the pork patties were fine. Nice touch using the fresh strawberries being sold at the front desk. Yes, they were good. The warm stewed tomatoes (regular from a can) were nice, too. I didn't eat anything else, so can't speak for it. The buffet had quite a few high carb items such as biscuits, potatoes and grits. The service was just okay, but I must admit getting a little annoyed at myself and them. First, asked the waitress if I can order off the menu. She said everything was available on the buffet. I'm annoyed at myself for being such a pushover. The buffet was way more expensive than the menu. Second, paid for the meal and gave the cashier a five to have changed for tip. She was trying to get a repair service on the phone and assumed the entire bill was tip for an under $15 check for the waitress. All the waitress did was serve coffee (not good coffee, by the way). Ate here last week and was impressed. The food was excellent - crisp, fresh salad and the chicken salad was really delicious. I'm a very picky eater so didn't try most of it, but what I did get was great. Fried chicken was excellent. Everything that was supposed to be hot was hot. Waitress was attentive and soooo friendly. But I have to RAVE about the chocolate cake. I normally do not like chocolate cake, but this, w/the whipped cream layers - OMG! You do NOT have to eat anything before or afterwards for the whole day. Had lunch today, for on the food bar was cold. They serve you on a plate, no more buffet fo help yourself. They act like they are taking it out of their pocket to serve you, have a terrible attitude. Chicken Cold and hard, mac and cheese at the end and stuck together, only thing that was good was fried squash. Potato salad horrible. They even have to get your ice cream and not such is given to you. Go back to the old days and hot food and great service but you helped yourself. Price gone up and food has gone down, not fresh. My husband and I had a great breakfast here. We loved that it was a buffet and we were able to pick what we wanted. We also loved that there were so many options available! I took my husband here over Father's Day weekend. It was definitely busy. We were placed on the list and received a text once a table became available. We were seated within 30 minutes. Not too crazy of a wait. Our waitress was helpful. I always like to get their opinions on meals, she provided her recommendations. The food was okay. It was breakfast. Nothing to rave about. I would be willing to try them again because I'd like to experience some of the other popular menu items. On this trip, I kept it simple and didn't want to rattle my belly too much. Last time we came a mouse literally ran across our feet idk why in the world we came back.
