This is a hometown diner in the cute town of Alpine Texas. They serve breakfast and lunch. We stopped in for breakfast- The menu has the regular fare, with a Tex-Mex twist. Eggs, biscuits and gravy, pancakes - but also breakfast burritos. Service is fast and friendly. Laid back cowboys fill the cafe with friendly banter. Stop in for a bite- you will enjoy it.

I was hon-gree,and needed food. Out front: Police Railroad Border patrol A perfect indication that this is the place. It in fact was the place and I found it sitting in the Mcdonald's parking lot across the street looking at Yelp. No explanation is needed. Great Food, Atmosphere, Prices, service, and a vanishing Decor...... Go!!!

#2 plate. Eggs, bacon or sausage (not sure why they included both) , potatoes and toast

Seat yourself upon arrival. We both got the plate with eggs, one meat of choice, potatoes and with either a biscuit or toast. For some reason they put a piece of sausage on my plate even though it only comes with either bacon or sausage. Eggs were scrambled and well done, the potatoes had good flavor but some pieces weren't quite cooked all the way. Ordered the oatmeal for our toddler which was supposed to have come with toast but it never made it to our table. Overall average food, not bad for the price. It stayed busy the whole time we were there.

If you're ever in Alpine Tx you have to eat here! Everything is great! It doesn't matter what time of day and the service is amazing! They are professional, kind and if you're not sure what you want just ask them they will order for you lol! And if they are busy help yourself to the coffee, tea or soda refills! They don't mind at all and we absolutely didn't mind getting our own refills to help them out! We went on vacation and even though we stayed in hotels in other towns close by we drove to Alpine to eat! The restaurant is family owned and the ambiance is fitting for a small town feel!

This place had such a great breakfast. We were on our way back from Big Bend national Park and stopped by here and the weather was crappy and rainy and the service was great! The food was good and I love that this is a family owned restaurant and the coffee mugs were totally random and we really enjoyed our meal here .

Stopped by after going to the Davis Mountsin State Park, worth the drive over. Best burgers!!

They brought us drinks and then avoided us for fifteen minutes while taking orders from tables nearby, we left.

Came to Magoo's for breakfast and had the Huevos Ranchero. Food is fresh and dishes & tortillas are homemade. Would definitely recommend.

Easily the best huevos rancheros in town. The other stuff's alright, from the reports of those I ate with.

Great breakfast, cheap, good food! Seems to be where the locals go but us out-of-towners were quite satisfied.

The ambiance is more on the utilitarian side not super classy or trendy but where this place shines is in the food. We ordered the carne asada tacos and the chips and salsa. Everything was clearly homemade. The chips were fried fresh and brought to the table warm, and the salsa tasted like it had just been made. The flour tortillas were also fresh and full of flavor. It was very, very good. We popped in for a light lunch and enjoyed every bite. Authentic, satisfying, and perfectly balanced not too heavy, not too light. Just right. Fast and delicious. Bravo!

They looked really good and on the appetizer menu so I got them. Asked for the salsa flight but waiter said the prep guy did not come in that day so they had no salsa (none at all)! So o ordered the guacamole (which he competed). Also got a Jamaica juice that was so large I had to get a to go cup when we were ready to leave. The guacamole was house made but it did lack some flavor. It needed a punch of garlic and some salt. Only thing I could add was the salt from the table. Otherwise it was good and chunky. The nachos came out and they were massive. I was able to eat about 10 chips before giving up. My provider and I said we should have shared. They are loaded with meat, cheese, sour cream, guacamole, pico, and pickled red onions. I have no complaints bout the taste as it was all very flavorful and seasoned well. There are not a lot of options for food in town but I would eat here again.

That's a rarity these days, and I'm sure the IRS and local school district are getting all that's due to them. (Not really.) I'm an out-of-towner, and I stopped here for lunch before heading back south. The food and service were good. Not great. Indeed everyone was friendly, and there was enough gooey cheese to float a battleship. The "frozen" beer mug was actually a plastic mug, which is horse hockey. If I'd known better, I would've saved the dishwasher some trouble and just sipped from the bottle. Back to the food... The cheese enchiladas here are divine. They're gooey, and the red sauce is wonderful. The hard corn tacos are fine ... nothing special. Same thing with the rice and beans. -- Mexican rice in these parts has been wet at every restaurant. I'm used to dry Mexican rice. (And I was taught by a Mexican abuela how to make proper Mexican rice.) But I digress. Chips here are marginal. Hopefully, they come in on a truck, because they hardly taste like they are fried in the kitchen. The salsa, while served cold (which is proper) is a little too chunky for my taste, although it has a nice bite to it. The locals eat here. Good for them, because this place is decent. But also bad for them, because restaurants like this one should breed some decent competition ... even in a tiny town such as Alpine. Also, bad for them because this place only accepts cash, which most people don't carry these days. (Yes, we had cash, but the six ladies at the adjacent table didn't.)
