Positives: -they have a shuttle service to anywhere in Cape May so you don't have to drive anywhere and then they come pick you up after. -they set up beach chairs and umbrellas at the beach for you. -within walking distance to restaurants -nice pool by the ocean Negative- -the third bedroom is pretty small but fine for 1-2 people. -some people might say the live bands at night at Harry's is a problem but it didn't bother me. The staff is excellent and the management seemed to take my complaints seriously and offered to rectify my complaints which I do appreciate. Most businesses don't really care today. The rooms are well maintained for the most part but this visit was poor compared to other years. My screen had holes in it. Not the end of the world and I didn't even mention it until the end of my stay. Add that to a faulty fire alarm waking us all up Monday morning at 4:30 AM and according to the cop on the scene this has been an ongoing issue. Mgmt did explain to me they changed alarm companies- yet all the guests paid the price. Even more disturbing to me is that only about 10 people evacuated the premises. (Not the hotel's fault) I'm just sadly surprised that very few take their own personal safety seriously. In the on-site cafe there are residential portable air conditioning units being used because the cafe central air conditioning system is dysfunctional- plus I noticed burned out lights in the cafe. Another guest was complaining about the ice machine that was broken for several days. The cafe is run by a different group but the Reges has their name on it. They need to be more careful leasing that space. The quality of food in the cafe is slipping exponentially. My husband ordered a broccoli cheese omelette and was unable to detect either ingredient. The potatoes he got daily were cold. He requested onions and was told they don't have onions for potatoes. My first day I ordered eggs over easy and they were very mucous-like and raw- I couldn't eat them-I wasn't hungry any way. We tend to be forgiving about these things bcs it's an included perk. Ever hear that expression? "Don't look a gift horse in the mouth". Service at the cafe is severely declining. The server who took care of us for a few meals was a younger girl with dark hair and was absolutely miserable working there. She clearly hated her job. Our final day we endured an older overly tanned tall skinny blond "ish" server who has absolutely no business being in the service industry. She was extremely rude, impatient, seemed very annoyed we were there and kept ignoring my mom trying to order to go food- literally running away from our table- "I'm very busy". So you have ONE table at 7:30 AM and you are too busy to help a customer?! That's your ONLY JOB! She brought our juice to the table and we said "Thank You", she took our order to which we said "thank you"- -NO RESPONSE- no "you're welcome"- nothing but nasty attitude! I don't need this crap on my vacation. If you read my reviews you know I've been a server for decades-so I am more understanding than anyone- I put up with a lot more crap than I should- but I simply will not tolerate rudeness. This was the second time in my life I did not tip a waitress due to rudeness and I'm 56!! That's saying something. Additionally the beach was laden with trash. That is not the hotels fault- in good conscience I can no longer recommend my friends visiting here. The hotel called public works to rectify this. That's all well and good but too little too late for me with everything else. In the past, I had brought in a considerable amount of business to The Reges. My mom's friends, her sisters and their significant others, my good friend and her family visited numerous times, I had also brought my daughter and grand daughter last year. The Reges management offered to do something for me and they genuinely wanted me to give them a second try. I'm not looking for a free trip- I just wanted to be heard. Management heard me and responded to my message quickly and that's the only reason I am going with the 3rd star in my review. The Reges honored my wish to cxl my 2025 reservations and refund my entire deposit, (without a penalty of 25%) as that was my request. At this time I have no plans to return to The Reges. I have only a finite number of vacation days and the trip for me is nearly 3 1/2 hours to get to The Reges. I just can't chance another bad experience. Maybe someday I will feel differently.

It's located a little outside the main part of town, but everything in Cape May is just 10-15 minutes away, so it's still very convenient. A couple of things to note: * Avoid first-floor rooms if possible--you can hear every footstep from the room above, which gets loud fast. * The bathrooms don't have fans, so after a couple of hot showers, the room gets pretty humid, and it lingers. Still, the overall experience was positive. If you're looking for a quieter stay just outside the crowds, this is a solid option I would give it 3.5 .

My boyfriend was there from Monday to Wednesday, my son and I came out to stay Monday night into Tuesday and we left Tuesday night because I had a notary class the next day on July 30. I did love it here, my one issue was not enough parking. They only allowed one car per room to park on the property. I had so much stuff with me because I was not only packed for one night in Wildwood but packed for the next week without my son in case I ended up sleeping over anywhere. I usually don't sleep over anyone's house but my sister's but I always carry extra clothes on nights I won't have my son in case I end up being offered to sleep at a friend's house or something I'm prepared. So because of my issues with being prepared and having too much stuff when I found out I couldn't park at the hotel I had a mini heart attack on the inside. When I got to the hotel, I had to figure out what I needed and unload my car and than I ended up parking the car 3 blocks away. I am not sure if they can arrange more parking, I don't know if it's possible but it's the one gripe I have. The room my boyfriend, son and I stayed in had a king size bed. I bought a cot for my son to sleep on but my son ended up at the end of the bed because he didn't want to sleep in the cot, I ended up in the middle of the bed and my boyfriend ended up at the other end of the bed. The 3 of us fit lol. The room had a kitchenette. I love the rooms with the kitchenettes. I like to bring groceries with me on trips so I can save money on food out so anyplace that has a kitchenette I love. I bought regular coffee to brew and were dismayed to learn they had a keurig, if I knew that I would have bought some of my disposable k cups with me. It ended up being okay they had starbucks k cups that they provided and I was more than happy to drink that. They had a pretty nice pool. I didn't get to visit the beach but I heard they provided beach accessories. This hotel was also located at the end of the boardwalk and very close to it. This is the first time that we got a condo that is on the opposite side of the building. Typically we always entered the building on the same side as where the main parking lot is. However, the front desk told us that even though we had to park our car in the main lot, we had to walk all the way to the OTHER side of the building by the pool to access the elevator we need to get to our room. I got so lost trying to figure out how to navigate the building and which elevator I needed to access my room, I only figured it out the day before we were leaving. The staff seems nice. We were unable to change the temperature in our room, we were trying to get it to be colder but it would not allow us to set it. The living room got cold, but bedrooms got hot. The bathroom was fine, but the first night, our bathroom electricity got turned off for some odd reason and I had to hit the reset button on the outlet. My Mom also said that the price of the rooms didn't seem right and thinks she was charged double the amount that she should have..... so she will have to look into that. My wife and I have been visiting Cape May for years, and a few years ago we made the third weekend of September an annual tradition for her birthday. We usually stay at The Virginia and spend much of our time at Cape Resorts restaurants and properties. We know the brand well and have always loved the hospitality. This year was different because we have a 6-month-old baby, so we booked the Sandpiper instead. We were scheduled to stay Friday through Monday. Unfortunately, we had a death in the family and the funeral was scheduled for Saturday. At the same time, a nor'easter was forecast to hit the area. I called the Sandpiper, explained the situation, and was told there was no way to cancel or change the reservation. I was also told not to worry because Cape May "never floods." So we adjusted our plans and decided we would attend the funeral Saturday and drive down afterward. Later that day, I called again to make sure our room would not be released since we would miss Friday night. The woman who answered that call could not have been more different. She listened. She expressed sympathy for our loss, understood the situation, and genuinely tried to help. She was able to refund Friday night and explained that her supervisor could not do more. I was incredibly appreciative. To that woman: thank you. You made us feel heard, understood and cared for. That is hospitality. Then Saturday came. As we left the funeral, the storm had worsened. New Jersey had declared a State of Emergency for areas including Cape May and advised people to avoid unnecessary travel. We live approximately three hours away. My wife and I decided that driving three hours through a nor'easter with a 6-month-old baby was not a responsible choice. I called the Sandpiper again and spoke with a manager. I was not asking for a refund. I simply asked if we could move the remaining nights to another date, even months or a year in advance. The answer was essentially: policy is policy. I was again told Cape May does not flood. But that was not the point. The issue was whether it was safe to drive three hours through a major storm during a State of Emergency with an infant. There was no attempt to understand that distinction or find a solution. That is where hospitality was lost. To the owners of Cape Resorts: I sincerely hope this is not representative of where your company is headed. Hospitality is not just beautiful hotels, great restaurants, design, awards or amenities. It is how you treat people when circumstances are inconvenient, unusual or difficult. Policies are necessary. But great hospitality requires knowing when a situation deserves consideration beyond the policy. Guests remember the person who listened to them, and they remember the person who refused to. To other Cape May businesses: there is opportunity here. When another business becomes rigid, be flexible. When another business stops listening, listen. When someone is treated like a reservation number, treat them like a person. That is how lifelong customers are created. And to the manager I spoke with: hospitality cannot simply be enforcing rules. Technology can repeat policies. Software can give the same answer every time. AI can do that. What makes a hospitality professional valuable is the ability to read the moment, show empathy, exercise judgment and turn a bad situation into a lasting relationship. Be human. I worked in boutique hotels for 10 years, and both my wife and I still work in hospitality. We come to Cape May because we have always felt it is one of the few places in New Jersey where true hospitality is still part of the experience. That is why this was so disappointing. I now have about 11 months to convince my wife that we should return next September. I'll do my best, but she is strong-willed, so this may have been our last Cape May reservation. I genuinely hope it wasn't.

Our room (201) was large, clean, and nicely designed, with a full (albeit abbreviateD) kitchen, fast Wi-Fi, and plenty of space to hang out. The balcony had a beautiful view of the sunset and was one of our favorite parts of the stay. One parking space is included and it's a very easy walk to either the beach or town for shopping or food. It's probably (definitely) on the higher end price-wise during the summer, but for a fall weekend, it was ideal: quiet, comfortable, and close to everything.

Would love to visit during peak season to use the provided beach tags and service available. It is also close to many bars and restaurants that are walkable. We really enjoyed our stay here for the perfect Mom and Dad getaway!
