I stayed at the Madison (Ocean Tower) and definitely recommend! I'll start by mentioning the three things that prevented me from giving a five star review. First, the elevator was down while we were there which wasn't a huge deal for us but since we were on the 3rd floor it made me wonder about folks with disabilities or any kind of knee or back issue. I felt this was a new resort growing pain though and hope they can get this worked out. Second, and another growing pain likely, while the pool on day 1 was heated and amazing as was the hot tub, on day 2 the heater wasn't working and there essentially was no hot tub and the pool was much cooler, though still enjoyable. The final component is more of a structural design issue that won't change but I thought I'd mention. The sink is outside of the bathroom. There is no sink in the bathroom. This means you need to exit the bathroom to wash your hands. We dealt with it but it's a bit of a design flaw. Now onto all the good! First, when I called about an early check in they said that while they couldn't guarantee that, we were welcome to come and get a parking pass and our pool passes while we wait. I think that's a wonderful alternative! It was much appreciated! Then, when we got there our room was ready! An even nicer surprise since we were about 2 hours early to check in. The place is new with new furniture and new flooring in the rooms. We had an adorable retro-looking microwave and refrigerator in our room. We even had bath robes available. The room was also stocked with really great smelling (green tea and coconut) shampoo, conditioner and bath gel. The pool area is wonderful with a cute pink and white theme. The cabanas are rentals, which we didn't do, but they certainly looked lovely. At night there are fire tables available and the deck has beautiful lighting. There is a rooftop open longe area on the 4th floor. There is also a snack stand right on the pool deck and a restaurant connected to the patio. When staying at the Madison you have access to both pools (though since we were only there a weekend we didn't venture over to spend time at the Royal Tower pool, which is the old Royal Hawaiian pool, and is still in tact with the middle island and large hot tub area). There is a small gym on site (again, talking specifically about the Ocean Tower - not sure what's at the Royal Tower in this capacity). Checked it out but didn't use it. The tower sets up chairs and umbrellas on the beach in a first come first serve capacity but again, a great service. Makes you feel elite. And lastly, something we used a lot, was the free shuttle service. The shuttle service is unique (only one other hotel in the area does this) and will take you to and from the boardwalk, local restaurants or close attractions. Tom and Jack, the two drivers we had, were super friendly and accommodating. Overall, everyone was quite friendly and we really enjoyed our stay. It was clean and comfortable. Disappointing stay despite high-end price The silky-sand beach, free lounge chairs and umbrellas, and beachside food service were the best parts of our stay. Our two-room suite was quiet, and the restaurant staff were pleasant. Unfortunately, the bathroom looked grungy with a rusted toilet paper holder and poor cleaning, and the bed was uncomfortable. Both the bedroom and bathroom were tiny, and I kept hitting my leg on the bed frame when walking around. We were handed one vague sheet of information at check-in, and when my husband went back for clarification, the front desk still couldn't clearly explain the amenities. Most of the staff were unable to answer basic questions. The towel attendant stayed on her phone, and the manager seemed "put off" when asked anything. For a hotel on the high end of pricing in the area, I expected comfort and at least a touch of "luxury." Required valet parking added to the inconvenience. I would not stay here again. read more

Stayed here July 1st thru the 3rd 2026 and paid for an Ocean front room with a kitchenette. The price for two nights at The Madison Royal resort with the "Summer Sizzle Special" with taxes was just under $1200 dollars. I thought that was awful expensive but for Ocean front I expected a beautiful room with a view of the ocean. When I arrived and checked in BOY was I mistaken. My Ocean front room was ground floor with a view of the pool, lounge chairs and a fence. The room was very basic and everytime you entered the bathroom you would trip or stub your toe due to a tripping hazard that the bathroom is 1 1/2" higher and the same type of flooring that it blends in and you don't notice the problem. Beware of room #100. Tried to get moved to a similar room or even a downgrade but to no avail. I have stayed in a lot of hotels and condo's all over the USA and I have to warn everyone SAVE YOUR MONEY and find another hotel to stay even if it costs a few dollars more. read more

BED BUG WARNING: Just recently stayed here, a 5 star hotel that cost a few thousand dollars for a week's rental. After waking with up bite marks, I was concerned , showed them to the staff. I was surprised that I got no response from the hotel staff which makes me belief it will fall of deaf ears. I do not trust this staff will do the proper extermination, not just a standard cleaning. PROS: The overall ambience of this hotel was giving retro vibes. From the refrigerator to the microwave everything was very old school. The pool was also great although they do charge $15 for pool access and a towel card for your entire stay. They have two towers: the North Tower and the Royal Tower. The pool in the North Tower was very warm because of the water spilling out of the hot tub. The pool in the Royal Tower was much nicer and went as deep as 11 feet and they had a separate hot tub with a little waterfall as well as a kiddie pool. Both pools were open from 8 AM to 9 PM. The Royal Tower also had a grill to barbecue. I definitely recommend staying in the Royal Tower because not only is the service there much nicer there, but so are the rooms. You can have your own balcony, and the walkways are not as narrow as in the North Tower . Valet parking is also complementary at this property and it is very close to the beach as well. CONS: The service in the North Tower was awful. One of the employees there named Becky did not really care to make things right. They had got our booking reservation wrong and gave us a room that was missing a whole bed. She was unwilling to compromise or offer any help. She possibly gave the worst customer service I have ever received in the hospitality industry. Becky basically waved us off as something she did not want to deal with despite the room reservation being a mistake on their end. Not only that, the room that we mistakenly did get had the AC system broken and when maintenance came up, apparently it was a known issue that the vent was not working. They still gave us that room knowing there was no AC. The other room had the some knobs from a cabinet missing, as well as the bathroom faucet just popped off out of nowhere. Our room did consist of a pullout bed and they do offer mattress toppers, however I had requested one and it took about two hours to actually arrive. I went downstairs to speak with Becky about where the mattress topper that I requested was and she said that it should be there soon. I told her I've been waiting for over an hour and it's almost 10 PM now and I would like to go to bed and she just shrugged me off, saying that there was nothing she could do --- My suggestion is that if you're staying here, I would call in advance to clarify what kind of room you will be getting and verify the number of beds as well. It seems as though the employees at this hotel, especially at the North Tower were very careless in booking our rooms. read more

Way too quiet. People are on vacation. We were unfortunately stuck next door to someone who was in a dance competition. The kids were laughing in the room when we returned from the boardwalk. Had been in the room 10-15 min it was around 1145ish we were leaving to go to the fire pits at the other building when walking out the dance mom literally glared at us complaining they have a dance competition in the morning. Staring and giving us dirty looks the entire time until we shut the door to our room. Talk about awkward. Immediately following staff to tell us they got a call for noise. The staff member followed us over to the other building and while sitting there no more 5 mins talking with my teenage kids the staff member Jose said he received another noise complaint walked over to the fire pit and shut it off while we were sitting at it. Like almost to tell us it's time for bed. Then proceeded to pace around watching us and then came back and tried to get a reaction out of us by walking around us picking up trash telling us that it's his job. Such an uneasy feeling and totally killed the mood for me and my kids. We just got up went back to our room whispering the entire way back and then had to whisper in our room. We reported it in the morning and front desk seemed to take how we felt into consideration and agreed that hey it's the kick off to 4th of July weekend people are here on vacation. The front desk staff seemed quite upset at how staff handled the fire pit situation. We felt better after expressing our concerns and how it made our family feel. Yet next night went down to the fire pits to sit and same staff member comes over doesn't say anything squeezed between me and my nephew and shuts off the fire pit and walks away. My jaw literally dropped. Like wow. For as much money as you spend I have never ever seen such ignorance. I have never been to wildwood over the summer and have ever felt like this anywhere. Never experienced nothing like it. Not a friendly environment or experience for us. Two nights killed the mood for my kids. I just was totally blown away. I'll never stay here again. Felt very out of place this is not family friendly. More like boot camp resort. If you're looking to enjoy some laughs and fun seeing your kids smile. I recommend this not where you book. Definitely not worth spending the money to be treated like this. Not to mention dry bar too. read more

My husband, two kids and dog stayed in the Royal Tower in Sept. pros: location is GREAT! walked to the park everyday, rented bikes, and there's a cafe (not part of Madison) they were so nice, even gave my dog a pup cup each morning. Pool and hot tub area were really nice, the weather wasn't great but my kids still got in the pool and it was so warm! Parking was easy too. Cons: room in the Royal Tower was lacking everything! It felt like they just slapped the room together. Rust in the bathroom, floors were sooo dirty! Barely any decor...maybe the rooms in the Madison tower are better but Royal tower def not it! Also the balcony railing was super concerning for my small dog, she could have easily slipped through the bottom and fell so I had to keep her on a leash when we were sitting out there. If you are going to be dog friend, it should be safe for dogs of all sizes. Customer service was lacking. The ONLY reason we would go back and is because of the location and pools/hotel grounds. read more

The new Madison Resort in Wildwood shows promise with its modern decor and comfortable accommodations. I did not stay at the previous Oceanside Motel but I can only imagine this is a drastic improvement. The rooms are clean, new and well-appointed, offering a pleasant stay overall. They managed to keep the vintage vibes but make them modern and aesthetically pleasing. The location is convenient, just a short walk from the beach and Wildwood Crest boardwalk attractions. However, there were a few things I didn't love during our "girls weekend" stay. The check-in process was very disorganized and the staff at the desk was unable to answer any questions about girls weekend. When they couldn't figure it out they just made something up. For example, telling us the goody bag would be waiting in our room. When we came back to say they weren't in our room there was a table set up with people handing the bags out. The info handed to us in our room envelope was just general hotel info even though we were told it had the itinerary for the weekend, which was also at the table when we went back. The noise levels from the courtyard area were very loud especially when the beds are right near the windows. Quiet hours really need to be instituted or this place needed much better insulation. Nobody seemed to say anything to other guests yelling at 2am in the courtyard. If the noise doesn't keep you awake the beds will. Both the "new" bedroom mattress and "new" sofa bed mattress were lumpy and terribly uncomfortable. The staff was not the friendliest and I felt like I was inconveniencing them with questions or even just my presence. We never got a good morning or hello in passing. When we checked out we didn't even get a thanks for staying or have a safe trip home. Another thing to note the motel has very limited, very narrow parking. If you don't get a space you need to valet. Girls weekend was a nice idea but the weekend seemed to be more for the "influencers" and marketing agencies. If you look at some of the posts they're tagged in you will see they are from consulting agencies which I'm sure were gifted their stays. The normal customers just got the shaft especially when bringing up concerns. It would have been great if they hosted a separate weekend for regular guests. Although this was the first "girls weekend" at The Madison, the hotel group hosts the same weekend at their sister hotel in Cape May twice a year. We were told the girls weekend there also does not go on without hiccups. With some big time fine-tuning in service and attention to detail, the Madison Resort could easily improve to provide a more seamless and enjoyable experience for guests. read more

We have been here for the past couple days and all I can say is wow we are blown away by the level of service, the comfort of every inch of this place it's pristine It's clean. I don't know how anybody can complain. OK people yes it's brand new. There's going to be some minor glitches have patience. I've been coming to the Jersey shore all my life and this is tops the manager at the front and all those girls work super hard and they're very nice and they have to put up with a lot of bitchy people kudos to the front desk girls, also kudos to the maintenance and cleaning people phenomenal work And we are even extending our stay because we are having a great time we are in room 202 and I feel like I'm in Paradise. So I have been staying here for 25+ years. The old royal Hawaiian last year everything went so smoothly and the new Madison resort.I was even upgraded to a new ocean front room. Everyone was so accommodating that I booked and paid in full for my room for 2025 while leaving my 2024 stay. Then this year we are already off to a bad start. Money hungry resort I was checking it at 3:05 pm I was told my room was ready but I would be charged for early arrival if I checked in before 4:00 pm. Very bad business practice folks. Pros: The decor and vibe is fun and vintage. Staff was amazingly friendly and we had a wonderful breakfast at Vinyl one morning -- the server was amazing (wish I remembered her name). Vinyl also became our go-go place for a morning latte. Cons. The rooms can be dark. There are black out curtains on the windows (which are great for sleep) but no sheer option to let light in during the day while maintaining privacy. The lamps are very low so at night it is VERY dark. Getting chairs/umbrellas around the pool in the am is difficult as people "reserve" them with towels at 9 am. The pool was closed by the health department on one of the hottest days so far this summer. The only option presented to us was to use the pool at their sister resort next door. But it was the hottest day of the year (see prior comment about chairs and umbrellas) We later heard that larger groups were offered the option of taking the shuttle to another resort (we were not). Overall we enjoyed the stay -- just not sure if we would stay again based on the health department issue. read more

My family and I stayed here for 6 nights and it was our first time trying a hotel rather than an airbnb. We have been coming to Wildwood for 4 years now so we are huge Wildwood fans! I will start out by saying the food at Vinyl is really good! We had breakfast here a few times and also lunch and it was consistent and the waiters/waitresses were very accommodating and nice. Upon arriving the first day we were told we had to park in the lot of the hotel and that you get two passes per room to park there, which was great because I am horrible at parallel parking lol . The parking spaces were literally on top of each other. Half the time the person next to you did not know how to park so you had to shimmy out of your door in order to not hit the car next to you. Horrible parking! The maid service also horrendous. Our room went 4 days without being cleaned and we had to basically call and beg 2x a day for new bath towels and toilet paper. The floors were filthy upon arrival also. Better off wearing your shoes in the room! Lastly, the balcony!! If you have children the front balconies are so beyond dangerous they must have paid someone off in town in order to not redo them. If you have small children they could easily lay down and fall right off and I am wondering if the establishment is waiting on something tragic to occur before them remodel that to be more safe. All in all.. the internet and social media "influencers" make this place look a lot better than it actually does. The people were nice but the way it is ran could use tweaking! read more

My wife and I stayed there from July 6 - July 10, 2024. This is MY review so I'll go based on MY experience. Anyone who knows me knows I'm a very picky SOB. I've been in customer service all of my life so; my review is as follows. Upon check-in we were greeted by a very nice young lady who checked us in and greeted us warmly and professionally. The staff there are all in uniform which gives the resort a very polished professional look. Each and every staff member I came in contact with greeted me with a simple good morning, good afternoon or good evening. I never came into contact with a staff member who had a frown or scowl on their face. Two incidents I can mention was when I locked myself out of my room (yea I know, I'm a genius right?) I went to the front desk, and they gave me another key after checking my reservation etc., when the key didn't work after a few tries they got the building maintenance staff member to open the door and let me into my room. The second incident was when I went to get change to use the dryer for my towels and bathing suits and they were all out, so they remedied the situation by taking my wet items and taking down my room number, put the wet items in a plastic bag and taking them to housekeeping. The front desk Team Member said can you come back in about an hour? Housekeeping is putting it in the dryer when they dry the next load of towels. Came back about three hours later after dinner and my items were neatly folded, dry, and in a bag with my room number. That right there is called "owning the problem" and "problem resolution"That's Next level customer service. I had a very enjoyable stay. Now there were a few hiccups, which I brought to their attention, and that night I got a call from the manager, and we had a lengthy telephone conversation. Mind you 90% of the conversation was good and the other 10% was constructive criticism in areas in which I felt there could be improvement. Housekeeping is on point as the rooms are extremely clean. The grounds are also clean and neat. I actually saw one of the team members with a rolling bucket and a mop, mopping the outside patio......WHO DOES THAT?!?! By the pool, the staff were doing EVERYTHING in their power to squeegee the water into the drains. They were constantly out there keeping the ground, water free, from all the splashing. March 2026 - Booked with Madison on Oct 1, 2025 for Barefoot Country weekend 2026. This will be our third year staying there since their revamp. 20024 was hectic with their grand opening but a wonderful overall experience. 2025 was good - no issues. Today the pricing went down. I called and spoke with Iona who said they don't price adjust and said "When prices go up, do you want me to charge you more?" What a joke. No hotel has ever had this policy nor spoke to customers this way. It's a difference of almost $500. I then spoke with Carmen, manager, who confirmed what Iona said according to the "new" policy and that if I cancel and rebook the same exact room at new rates, I would still be charged 20% cancellation (approx $500). I wrote this info on their Facebook and Instagram pages in the comments, and Madison Resorts deleted the comments and blocked me. Wow the time here just kept getting worse. At first, I was taken aback by the theming it was wonderful and the room was cute. The pullout couch bed is not great even with a mattress topper, I could feel the metal support beams. The pool and amenities are great but didn't really get to experience them because it was rainy. The smashburgers were good! My girlfriend got the crab sliders and she said they were good. I will say the bathroom felt blank. I thought the bathroom could've used shelves for the towels but if you wanted a towel they're stored under the sink outside the bathroom. My girlfriend's mom took the bedroom and the tv was broken (half of the tv was black). Now we decided to leave early because our trip was impacted by Hurricane Erin. That didn't impact the rating though. There was black mold coming from the A/C vents and causing us to become sick. When my girlfriend's mom brought this up to the front desk manager, she didn't care. The DJ also was super loud and he started at 9am and didn't stop until 9pm. read more

Site manager Iona and her manager Carmen were unavailable and unresponsive after multiple attempts. Ended up cutting our trip short by a day because of frustration. It is an old hotel posing as upscale resort.They are charging Hampton prices for an upgrade to Motel 6.Loud music playing from 8 am until midnight and you're on your own if you call the front desk. I booked a stay at this resort and needed to reschedule. I was told that I would receive a credit for my deposit to be used at a later date when I followed and when I spoke to management via email, they were absolutely rude and dismissive. upon further request for information about my stay. They ignored my email. I have traveled a lot, and I have never been met such rude customer service. The two other families that I were traveling with both received their voucher I was told that they don't do that so I basically lost $500 on top of that. I just got a text message asking me to review my stay. I didn't even come. I wound up canceling the reservation. Extremely upsetting experience. read more

We had a great, long weekend at the Madison. Being a 50 plus year vacationer to wildwood, I didn't expect the resort to be just that, but it was. The amenities and accommodations were great. The food truck and restaurant on the property were a plus. There were plenty of areas to relax, the pool, hot tub, cabanas, fire pits, and of course, the beach. We come to wildwood for our large annual family vacation and we were excited to try this new modern hotel, mostly because of the aesthetic and the hot tubs. Unfortunately, neither of the hot tubs worked during our entire stay, the children were walking near the pool and almost fell and busted their faces multiple times because of how slippery it was. We had about 10 rooms for the last 3 days, and over half of the rooms my family occupied had no hot water. Everyone was showering in freezing cold water and going to bed freezing. The pull out mattress required my brother to apply the couch cushions to sleep on in order to be comfortable. The house keeping cleaned my cousins rooms and took their towels without replacing them, so when they showered they got out and had no towels. The elevator is extremely extremely slow, I never even got to go inside of the elevator because it barely worked. People were carrying their strollers down the stairs. We loved renting the cabanas and the dj's at the pool and we loved the shuttle service, but it still missed the mark on quite a few things. And during the only season being open, the hot tub should be at least warm for paying 300$ per night. We wanted to love the place and we had a great vacation, but unfortunately there were too many disappointments for our party of almost 40 people... read more

Stayed here now 4x and the place is awesome. Great location and every time is better than the last stay. The front desk staff ( Kenisha) is the best she should be promoted and the Hotel manager Justin is on top of his game. They both are there to please the customer. I would tell anyone who is looking for a great location and at a great price and fun atmosphere this is the place to stay. The new restaurant that just open is terrific and really well price for a resort style location. The hotel itself looks beautiful at first appearance. The pool area is really nice and so are the outdoor fire pits. They have shuttle service to various places you would want to visit and free valet service that will park your car for you. Unfortunately there are many negatives; too many to want to stay here again. The room was given to us filthy, our feet were quickly blackened if walking around without shoes, the glass shower door came off the rails and left my wife yelling for help while trying to stop it from falling on the floor and shattering. There is only one elevator that looked like it was on its last leg was the only option unless you took the stairs. You get two coffee cups and thats it... no cups for drinking. The inside house phone in your room doesn't work so you can call the front desk and ask for the things that are missing from your room like hangers. They rarely answer if you call using your cell eventually you get sent to voicemail. The land line phone was just placed in the room for appearances as its not fixable without actual wiring behind the wall, the outlets didn't work behind the bed either. Guess they didn't finish wiring that either. Black mold in the shower makes one not to want to take a shower there. Hair, in the bathroom floor. If you go down to the pool or go out and come back around 3pm don't count on your room being made up when you come back. Basically this hotel is lipstick on a pig, it looks pretty at first glance but if you stay here you will wish you hadn't. They charge to much $$ for these kind of issues. read more

First off for a +$600 price tag this place is lacking all around. We stayed at the Royal Tower. Between the animals barking all day at the pool and night with no one trying to stop it. We arrived early, around 12, and they allowed us entry to the pool and told us check back later if your room becomes available. We checked back around 2 and they said the room was ready. Awesome. Well we got a charge for $60+ for "early check in". If the room was ready at 2pm why charge me or at least let me know I will be charged and give me the option. The pool does not do food service and you have to either get delivery elsewhere or order from their restaurant and walk around the corner to pick it up. The room was nice but a few issues, 6 of us in the room only 4 towels. We called room service 3x to get towels and no one ever came. There is no way to control the AC in the room as the living room was very warm. The pull out coach/bed was pure springs. Absolutely zero mattress or cushion. Finally the TV did not work as there was no Roku remote and the Comcast remote was not synced to the TV rendering the living room TV useless. There was no shower or hose from the beach stairs to remove the sand that people were just getting right into the pool. For the 600+ price tag, 4pm check in and 10am check out, warm room, dogs, no TV, no thermostat, lack of towels, no room service, no food service and extremely uncomfortable pull out coach you can find a room for one night at 600 pretty much anywhere else. I 100% do not recommend as this place looks incredible until you pull the peel off the onion. read more

if there could be (-) minus or zero stars that's what this place warrants. first off, perceived dollar value... at $400 per night and pushing $500 with all the resort feee and additional bs this was an absolute robbery. we booked 5 nights, 4 rooms as this was a huge family gathering. the time with the family, priceless...... the review... if there could be (-) minus or zero stars that's what this place warrants. first off, perceived dollar value... at $400 per night and pushing $500 with all the resort feee and additional bs this was an absolute robbery. we booked 5 nights, 4 rooms as this was a huge family gathering. the time with the family, priceless...... the good: keurig coffee maker an ok coffee blend. nice new tvs shuttle service beach shuttle service the bad: breakfast at the cafe!! overpriced, small portions, and multiple bathroom trips due to cross contamination. a broken elevator (a full 6 days not working ) carry everything like a pack mule no way to get a cart down to your room as the diagonal wall resides 2 heel to toes, plus about 3 inches, (so about 2 feet proper to the railing). meaning you have your say excuse me and hello to everyone on the floor as the entry way is the balcony. this is not current fire code or ada compliant . a true grandfathered in debacle that is unsafe, unfriendly to privacy, and an overwhelming disaster that you learn as soon as you go to pack mule your belongings to your room, knocking into unsuspecting guests who are just trying to relax and gawk at you like, " hey watch it buddy" !!!! one would think a new remodel would implement current public safety codes, but not this group. no retention wanted! another level of "shit quality " pull out couches. the pad on the couch was such shit quality, i had better sleep when i was "detained" in a legal matter for a few days on a concrete slab with a "lessor shit quality pad, than the madision resort" in that county facility!!!! the madison mattress was so cheap, all 4 rooms opted to sleep on top of the couch cushions on the floor with a blanket over the cushions. the reminds me of when i made forts with the couch cushions as a child, not paying $500 a night !!!!!! primed but not painted/finished rooms. at $500 a night one would think the quality control would be amazing. no sir! bathrooms are partially finished, primed around the new cover "but old exhaust fans" in the shower/toilet and one would figure that wouldn't have been missed, but has!!! beyond a joke end-tables!! the end tables are 12 inches wide!! throughout the suite!! they dont even open!!!!! did odd lots have a special?????? g a r b a g e! dorm room quality!!! non-leveled a/c-air return units in the suite. the hvac unit would vibrate so loudly my father could not sleep. maintenance came and confirmed my suspicion, when i asked him. the maintenance staff (were very cordial and polite) apologized profusely, and stated we been getting a lot out of calls about the same issue!! nothing a few shims or 2 and a level could fix!!! this is a management issue!!! management needs to inform the maintenance team of the fix and implement!!! "full sized bed, in the queen suites!!! if you're 6'ft or better, you are shit out of luck. these beds are comfy, but small. if you have a queen size mattress at home, you'll understand!!!!. why call it a "queen suite"??? m i s r e p r e s e n t a t i o n!!! my 6'4" brother in law had a hell of a time getting comfortable and knocked my sister just about out of the bed when he had to turn !! non osha regulated stairs. another grandfathered in dangerous zone. we had rain and the steps are epoxy coated *concrete-and have high spots in the middle. slippery when wet, and not flat footed. be cautious if you have older loved ones with you!! you'll have to walk with them holding the open arm and one arm on the handrail!!! dirty pool! ironically, until thursday night we have never seen the madison logo in the pool even during the day!!! forget playing find the quarter with the kids, you can't even see the bottom. cloudy cloudy!! minimalistic attempt to keep chems balanced!!! don't forget to check out the floating cesspool of sunscreen, fritos, and other products floating by the right side handrail closest to the building. im still trying to figure out what that collage of items were. my sister refused to enter!!!! was dry heaving!! ice machine capacity 1-800-out-again yet again another cheapest way out, the facility has very small ice machines with small capacity hoppers. set your alarm for 1am and fill your cooler up to max! dont forget your running shoes as most likely you have to got to multiple floors. forget during the day !! z e r o !!!!!! part 2 to follow............ read more

There are some kinks to work out as this is a brand new resort. We stayed in room 316. I have mixed feelings, but this place has potential. Positives: Great poolside vibe - large pool and a hot tub. The cabanas do take up a lot of room by the pool, but still were able to snag lounge chairs. Beach access was great. Loved the DJ at the pool during the day - I'm Gen X and appreciated the music choices!! There are several firepits with seating next to the pool area which is a nice touch. The restaurant is small, but we had a great breakfast there every morning. We had a not so great dinner meal there...I'll get to that later. We had an ocean view (side view), and the room was very clean with retro modern decor - loved the fridge and microwave! We also took advantage of the shuttle van. Jack was great and friendly and responsive! It was nice not to have to drive in the evening (restaurant, boardwalk, etc). The staff at the hotel was friendly - no complaints about that. Negative: Some room quirks: One outlet broken by the sofa bed which was pretty inconvenient - the staff knows about it as an extension cord was running from the lamp to the outlet on the other side of the room. I found it strange there was nowhere to put our shampoo, soap, etc in the shower. I had to put it on the shower floor. I've never encountered that. The shower floor was old - I think when the renovated the place, they kept some parts of it. The sink is outside the bathroom. The fan in the bathroom was super loud, and could not get a super hot shower - water was barely warm. The sofa bed was beyond awful!! You feel the springs and was so uncomfortable. Thankfully my kids didn't complain. The maid service wasn't great. On two occasions, the maid forgot to restock our coffee, water, and toilet paper. I understand once, but twice?? There are no private balconies - it's a shared walkway - so when you sit outside your room, people will walk by. Chairs outside the room were super uncomfortable too. The area we stayed in on the 3rd floor had a super narrow walkway. I would not recommend a room on the 1st floor if it's by the pool - the area gets flooded and I felt bad for those people. I'd recommend staying 3rd or 4th floor and get nearer the pool area/closer to the beach side. We had dinner there the first night - it's expensive (but isn't everything now?) - the chilled lobster cocktail was small and chewy. I didn't like it. I had a caeser salad with chicken and the chicken must have been left over from lunch - it was as dry as a desert. I had to send it back, just awful. The calamari was just OK we had, my husband enjoyed his fried flounder. The kids pasta with butter had pine nuts on it - nowhere on the menu does it say that...just states pasta with butter. Of course, my kid wouldn't eat it, and I had to pick the pine nuts off of it. Word of advice - do not make anything fancy for kids. Kids can be picky (especially mine), and do not appreciate gourmet crap like that, lol. The elevator is super tiny - they offer luggage carts for your stuff, but they barely fit in there. When checking out...no one asked me how my stay was...I found that interesting. Just gave me a receipt, that's it. Would I stay here again? Not sure.... probably not for the price. read more

On the Friday before our trip, my wife was reading reviews and we started to get concerned. People were stating that when they got there, the rooms they had booked weren't available so for peace of mind we called ahead to make sure our room was good to go. We had to call the sister property, the Montreal because no one was answering the phone at the Madison's ocean tower. They confirmed our room/type and we felt reassured. When we arrived they told us that the room we booked wasn't available which was a king suite with an ocean view. They offered us the queen room but it was not comfortable for the 3 of us and we requested to move. They then offered us an interior king suite which was much better for our needs but it didn't have a balcony area. The only problem was there was no water pressure and no hot water for at least 45 minutes of running the water. For the remainder of our trip we had to fill up the ice bucket with water in order to take a shower. There also is no door to the sink area and only one switch which controls both the light and the bathroom fan which is so loud. The lighting in the rest of the hotel room is poor at best. The walls are super thin, you can hear everyone's conversations in the surrounding rooms. The door has no latch on it, so you can't safely lock it from the inside. We had to put a chair in front of the door every night. We stayed from Monday, July 1st to Sunday, July 7th. The elevator stopped working on Thursday, July 4th and still hasn't been fixed. The grapes on the charcuterie tray at the pool snack bar were moldy. If you don't get to the pool area at 9am and claim your chairs, you aren't getting a pool chair for the day. We prepaid for breakfast but were told incorrect information when booking and were charged more than we should have been. The restaurant was still under construction when we checked in but we were given vouchers for the restaurant across the street. After speaking with management they did comp us 2 nights which we appreciated. There were some pros. Kim at the front desk was attentive and very nice. They do have a shuttle that will take you to and from the boardwalk and to local restaurants - Sean and Jack were great and this service was definitely a highlight. The beach was nice and the complimentary chairs, umbrella and towels were a plus. The hotel looks nice from the outside but it feels like they rushed to open before staff could be properly trained, stairwells could be painted and the restaurant could be opened. There are lots of growing pains to address before recommending this property. read more

Where are the spacious rooms? I have a mobility disability and I did not get the wheelchair accessible room that I requested. There is a step to get into the room, a step to get into the bathroom, and I had to crawl into the living room because the doorway to the living room was too narrow to fit my wheelchair. I did enjoy the pool and it was near the beach patrol where I was able to get wheelchair access to the beach. I had high expectations for this hotel but I was disappointed. save your money . this place puts profits over people . I've been going to the royal Hawaiian my entire life but I'll never go back to the royal tower . 20 something years . From the moment we arrived some prick that worked their was barking orders at me. The first day we arrived our ac was broken and they didn't fix it . The pool was absolutely filthy until the health department came they didn't have the pool filter on and they didn't have the proper chorine tabs . they had kids swimming in a hot tub like a pool . to get any type of assistance we had to call 17 times. They aren't on the premise during the day they were at the other hotel in the office only the maids & matience . Hospitality was non exisistant . The place dosent look like the pictures on the website only a few floors were actually renovated . they lacked respect. to the original owners I feel bad for you we loved you and seen you as family in half a year they've ruined what you build and were weren't the only original royal Hawaiian guests that said we weren't coming back their was more . My wife and I stayed there from July 6 - July 10, 2024. This is MY review so I'll go based on MY experience. Anyone who knows me knows I'm a very picky SOB. I've been in customer service all of my life so; my review is as follows. Upon check-in we were greeted by a very nice young lady who checked us in and greeted us warmly and professionally. The staff there are all in uniform which gives the resort a very polished professional look. Each and every staff member I came in contact with greeted me with a simple good morning, good afternoon or good evening. I never came into contact with a staff member who had a frown or scowl on their face. Two incidents I can mention was when I locked myself out of my room (yea I know, I'm a genius right?) I went to the front desk, and they gave me another key after checking my reservation etc., when the key didn't work after a few tries they got the building maintenance staff member to open the door and let me into my room. The second incident was when I went to get change to use the dryer for my towels and bathing suits and they were all out, so they remedied the situation by taking my wet items and taking down my room number, put the wet items in a plastic bag and taking them to housekeeping. The front desk Team Member said can you come back in about an hour? House keeping is putting it in the dryer when they dry the next load of towels. Came back about three hours later after dinner and my items were neatly folded, dry, and in a bag with my room number. That right there is called "owning the problem' and "problem resolution". That's Next level customer service. I had a very enjoyable stay. Now there were a few hiccups, which I brought to their attention, and that night I got a call from the manager, and we had a lengthy telephone conversation. Mind you 90% of the conversation was good and the other 10% was constructive criticism in areas in which I felt there could be improvement. Housekeeping is on point as the rooms are extremely clean. the grounds are also clean and neat. I actually saw one of the team members with a rolling bucket and a mop, mopping the outside patio......WHO DOES THAT?!?! By the pool, the staff were doing EVERYTHING in their power to squeegee the water into the drains. They were constantly out there keeping the ground, water free, from all the splashing. Bottom line is, I had a fantastic stay and would not hesitate to stay there again. read more
