Truly a hidden gem! This is the perfect date night spot that is off the strip. There dishes were delicious! The flavors were all there! We got the tom yum soup and house special fried rice. Wonderful, unique food with incredible, personalize service. The chicken special was juicy, full of flavor with welcome instructions on how to eat it. It was a dish created by the chef/owner that mixed perfectly fried chicken (drumstick and thigh) with egg noodles and curry! The shrimp tempura with basil had very fresh vegetables and a sauce that was both savory and tangy! Quaint restaurant with ample seating and well decorated. It was so good my sister and I absolutely love the food! We both had the pad Thai she had chicken pot Thai. I had tofu pad Thai and we split the shumai. And the Thai teas are so good. It's like slushy ice. We had a great server. The place was so quiet and it's like the perfect date night place. Really hope you guys get more foot traffic. A few girlfriends and I had lunch at Mahanakon Thai. The food was delicious. I ordered the yellow curry which was perfect-o. My friend had the Wonton type soup and she loved that too. The setting of the restaurant is adorable. Small, but classy. The only callout I have is that pricing is a bit on the higher side for a lunch, but if you want a special lunch this is the place. Nestled in a little strip mall next to the best pizza in town (Rebellion) is this gem of a Thai eatery. The ambience and decor is light and cozy, upscale but not stuffy. The service is warm and personal. The dishes presented beautifully. And the food! We started with "The Platter", a fun gathering of appetizers, all with little vats of accompanying sauces. My 3rd visit to Mahanakon Thai. Dined in once and had two orders to go. Every time the food was very good. I've had the young woman working there all three times. Very helpful and very polite. This is my go to place for Thai food. The ambiance was very charming and warm and high class. read more

We were told this place opened just a couple months ago so we decide to give it a try. The food is delicious with quality meat and vegetables. Service was excellent. Growing up in the Bay Area during the 1990s I had been to the original San Francisco location a handful of times and was one of my early introductions to Thai Cuisine as a teenager. When I saw a few years ago that the SF location was closing there was a bit of fond nostalgia and sadness. Needless to say, when I saw Thep Phanom was coming to Henderson, that nostalgia came rushing back and knew it wouldn't be long before I visited. This location had been a number of restaurants over the years and always has good food coming out of here but lacked a customer base in this unique pocket of Anthem. Thep Phanom, with its experience and hospitality has a chance to change that with a few adjustments. Came in on a Monday for lunch and was seated right away. Beautiful decor with classy photos of historical Individuals. Noticed unique offerings on the menu but stuck with Pad Thai to contrast it with other Thai Restaurants in the area. Hands down Best Pad Thai in Henderson, and stacks up with the elite Thai spots in the Valley. The balance of fish sauce and tamarind was well executed. Not overly sweet and not overly sour. Five Star quality of food with fast service. Four star overall rating given due to the lack of lunch options. Standard pad Thai is $21 coming off the Thai Street Food section. All other entrees were between $23-32. This pricing is fine for dinner, especially at its quality, but in order to make it worth while to stay open for lunch there should be a few lunch special offerings. Not conducive pricing for lunch. Being the only patron at 12:30 reflected this. However, I will be back for dinner in the near future. read more

My husband and I dined in here about a month ago, and we cannot wait to come back! The mushroom appetizer is to DIE for and the pad see ew I ordered was also really good! My husband got the pad thai which was also delicious. The mango dessert was refreshing and perfect to end the dining experience! They were quick to refill our water, and in general the service was incredible! The restaurant itself is a bit small, but has more than adequate seating regardless. We love Thai food and have our regular place, but we wanted to try something different. Little did I know there was an awesome place in our backyard! We walked in and noticed a great atmosphere. Lots of neighbors, so everyone was friendly. We were seated and immediately served water and asked for our drink menu. We perused the menu and saw some of our favorites but decided to try something new and get something we usually like. We started off with the Topaz Shrimp - five lightly poached shrimp individually swimming in a delicious yellow curry sauce with pork. Great start! We then had the Spicy Beef Salad. Tender strips of beef with chillis, mint, cucumber in a rice vinegar dressing, there were romaine leaves on the side, which was nice, to cool the spiciness. For our entree we had the Pad Se Ew with Chicken, Wide noodles, broccoli, chicken in a delicious sauce. For two people, this was more than enough. We took some of our entree home. The service was great, the food excellent and the atmosphere nice. A great gem in the neighborhood. They were also reasonably priced. Definitely looking forward to coming back here, and may check them out for lunch to try other items. read more

We are locals who live very near this newly-opened establishment. We love Thai, but hadn't yet had the opportunity to try Mahanakon out. We frequent Lamaii, Charm, and occasionally Jasmine Rice. We were entertaining two other executives who love Thai and decided to place a pick-up order this past Saturday evening. However, it turned out to be a grave mistake. We ordered The Platter, Pad See Ew Beef, Drunken Noodles Beef, and Yellow Curry Chicken. Unfortunately, the restaurant missed on each and every dish. The beef in both dishes was not seared, caramelized, nor flavorful at all - as it appears in their website photos... Instead it looked and tasted chewy and rubbery, like something you receive in a cheap food court at the mall. And adding Beef cost a +$5 upcharge for each dish?! The chicken in the curry was well overcooked and the amount of rice provided with the dish was considerably undersized and mismatched to what the rest of the market provides for Thai/Chinese. The Platter was cold (not pleasant for fried food) and must have been fired too early while we awaited the final dishes to complete while we waited 10 minutes past our estimated pick up time. To be honest, for the premium prices Mahanakon is charging (more costly than Lamaii and Charm and for lesser quality) it is going to be tough to succeed in this fickle Henderson market. We would love for this restaurant to make it as they are within walking distance and again, we very much enjoy Thai, but unfortunately, we just had a really bad initial experience. When faced with future decisions of "where should we go/pick-up food from" with our friends and neighbors, this won't be on our list any longer. I'm an executive on the Strip who has opened more casinos and restaurants than I can count. I can be empathetic that there are bad days and occasional outliers. So before I provided this review, I reached out to Mahanakon directly via their website to offer the courtesy to talk about our experience. Unfortunately I never heard back, so maybe these issues are more commonplace than we understood. read more

Unfortunately, I was disappointed by the lack of flavor in the pad Thai - I kept mixing the noodles around to hopefully get more flavor but it wasn't popping up. the shrimp was well cooked though. Decided spur of the moment to try this place for a late lunch. Bright new interior, friendly service. We tried only a few dishes, all chicken, but each was very tasty. We had the satay, the pad thai, and the cashew chicken. The chicken was actual chicken meat and not mystery processed meat substance. The spicy heat level was spot on and also very tasty. Portions are substantial and we ended up bringing leftovers for both mains home. We do encourage them to consider a happy hour. Definitely worth a try and we will be back. For $40 was expecting larger than something from my fish tank. They have no Massaman Curry dishes nor do they offer duck. The crispy duck dishes at Lotus of Siam are to die for. My family and I came to celebrate a special occasion here and everything we order was top quality from ingredients, to presentation and taste. The menu choices were also very impressive and had unique Thai dishes, but still had some other known Thai favorites. The service was excellent, friendly, didn't make you feel rushed. Tablecloths were clean and presentable and it's nice to see they used table cloths and not just a table, makes it feel special and upscale. Highly recommend if you're looking for a nice place and different Thai dishes than the standard things you can get anywhere, that's why I like this place, unique!
