Walking in makes you feel like you have been teleported and welcomed to Thailand. The ambiance is great and makes you feel the essence of Thai culture. Came with a friend for dinner, and she ordered the Chow Mein with Shrimp with a spice level of 7. Usually, when I go to the Thai restaurant, my go-to dish is the Panang Curry with a level 2 spice. I usually start off low and ask for the condiments, which also include the fish sauce with diced chilies. My Panang Curry was pretty amazing. It came with chicken, red bell peppers, and green beans. I had seen this place driving up and down Eastern and always wanted to stop there but never seemed to find a moment. My friend and I decided to go have a lunch break after a convention downtown. From the outside, it looks like just about any other building in this strip mall. The real magic happens when you open the doors. The inside is very well appointed with wood treatments throughout. It actually has a very warm, cozy vibe to it.. would love to sit at the bar on a Friday night and see what sort of cool stuff goes on there. The food was so good... My friend ordered it at a level 5, but we could have gone higher. In retrospect., spring rolls, and of course, a couple Thai iced teas The real magic happened was when I saw the dessert menu. I was very torn between the sweet sticky rice with mango and the Thai iced tea creme brulee. With the suggestion of the waitress, I went for the sweet sticky rice. Wow! Was not expecting that. What a great culinary treat that was. I could have eaten another one of those. I'm telling you. Make sure you leave room for dessert. You will not regret it. As you can see from the picture, the sweet sticky rice with mango almost looked too good to eat! Bottom line is run, don't walk to this place! Were over a bit further west than Eastern helping wife with an errand when we decided to stop and get some food. We stopped here, remembering friends complimenting it in the past, being in the mood for Thai. It's a Friday night, right around 6pm with monsoons that passed moments before (still drizzling) but still, most places we passed to get here had a line out the door. We figured we'd check the wait times and decide from there. Amazingly, while it was busy, we were seated as soon as we wiped off our feet on the welcome mats. Right away we were offered drinks and apps, but being first timers we asked for a few minutes. Drinks: Hers was a lemon drop. While I normally get an old fashioned to see how the bartender is, I decided to go a bit more floofy and got a tropical-esque drink, but I can't remember the name of it. It wasn't the lychee martini, but very similar. While I do wish I'd stuck with my regular, it was fun to try this, but a bit sweet for me. Wife liked it, and said her lemon drop was one of the best ones she's had. Apps: fried chicken skins and fried spring rolls. The skins had some seasoning on them, but not a lot. The dipping sauce was basically the same orange (colored) yum-yum style sauce used on sushi. Overall it wasn't bad, had the flavor of fresh fried skins, but the seasoning was underwhelming overall. The spring rolls were good. I'm one of the rare people that doesn't gush over eggrolls/spring rolls/whatever Asian fried crispy pastry with veggies and meat inside you can get. Usually even if the outside is nice and crunchy, the inside is just a soggy mess. I just don't like em. These actually weren't bad. Good crisp on outside, and the veggies still had some body, not just a slimy mass. The best part, both of the apps were only 8.95--actual appetizer prices!! Can you believe it?? I haven't seen an appetizer under 15-20 bucks since Rona. Mains: I got Chinese Broccoli with fried Pork Belly in oyster sauce. She got Red Curry with Chicken. Both of us felt like some spice, but not burning. I'm a heat-seeker, usually getting the hottest, but because I wasn't in the mood for that tonight, I can't attest to how hot they can get. We went with a 3, expecting a slight burn and consistent tingle. I thought mine was great flavor. It's a mass of greens with a much smaller amount of belly. The belly is fried perfectly, good crunch on outside, tender chew on inside. If you don't eat it quickly, however, the crunch will turn soggy, but the flavor was still great. The greens were well done, just a bit more than steamed level--still had good body without being super crunchy. Wife really liked her curry. She said it was great flavors, good amount of chicken, and for her, they did not over-do it on the basil. Our former regular place has been shrinkflating us. As the price goes up, the portions go down. Last time we were there I barely had any chicken, and we haven't been back. She said the ratio was good and the portion was enough to finish in one sitting (usually we get leftovers, but it's mostly just sauce and rice). I found it on the sweet side, but she said it was perfect. Down side: our spice 3 was a spice 0. Neither of us even got a hint of tingle. I usually write this off for me as my buds have been so abused with multi-million Scoville sauces I'm usually adding to my food, but for her not to feel any spice as a mid-to-low level heat seeker means there was barely anything. I hate ordering from places that have a spice rank because it seems to be dependent on the cook, the place, the kind of food, etc. Overall, definite quality, friendly folks, quick service, good food. Other than the spice level, we didn't run into any problems. If it wasn't on Eastern (yuck), we'd probably make it here more often. On the plus side, if cruel fates to bring us back to that God-forsaken stretch of road, we have a great place to eat! read more

i hardly put bad reviews out there, but this was such a terrible experience. we had a reservation set for 9:30 online and came in at 9:15 (earlier than our reservation) upon entering, we told the waitress up front we had a reservation for 9:30 but came a bit earlier and she just looks at us crazy as if we weren't supposed to be there? right upon sitting us she tells us "kitchen closes in 15 mins" so that means it closes at 9:30 when we had reservations for 9:30... then just rushed us right away to order- she came back after not even a minute of us being seated to see if we knew what we wanted to order as we barely sat down and started looking at the menu. Typical courtesy in the dining/hospitality domain would be to offer water or serve water right upon the guest sitting down but that was not the case, instead we were rushed and treated with poor customer service and was not served any water until we requested. The waitress continuously was looking at her watch for the time as we were ordering , she probably did it like 4 times to be so honest! That is highly disrespectful especially due to the fact we had reservations online for 9:30 PM and came early. I understand the restaurant closes at 10'o clock and if you won't make your guest feel welcome despite having reservations why have a website with openings for reservations at such times ? I kindly asked for no nuts in my Kung pao and was still given peanuts, which really topped it off for me. Now if i was to send that back for wrong order the waitress would've probably told me it's too late and the kitchen is closed. I was left to separate everything off the plate to remove the peanuts. We were sat as soon as we walked in! The first thing I noticed is the low lighting. It set us up for a relaxing late lunch. My brother ordered Thai mule with lemongrass infused vodka. It was delicious and refreshing. We ordered the thai beef jerky and fried taro for appetizers. The sauce that came with the jerky was SO GOOD. The beef jerky was so tender and juicy, not really what I expected for beef jerky but boy did it hit the spot! The fried taro was underwhelming, but the crunch paired with the sauce made it redeemable. My brother ordered the pineapple fried rice and I ordered garlic stir fry with tofu and chicken, these were the perfect comfort meals. The menu is affordable. You can't go wrong here. However, we arrived 35 minutes before closing and felt rushed, they basically told us we had 5 minutes to order. Vegas has AMAZING restaurants-- like seriously, head and shoulders above current-NYC right now (I know, I escaped)... But I don't "get" the acclaimed Thai restaurants in this town. I remember everyone went nuts over Lotus of Siam, and I thought it was overpriced and merely "ok". To clarify, I had only tried their new location, and others have told me the original was the best, so there's that. Pin Kaow has all sorts of awards outside their door, and I was excited to try it... But... similarly to Lotus of Siam... it was... meh... and overpriced by far. I ordered the chef special of mango salad with scallops. I literally will NEVER understand how people can overcook scallops... but... there they were... chewy and textured instead of... buttery soft. The presentation was lovely, it was served on 3 seashells... but it was a lot of frills and not much... salad. For $20, it was 6 meaty chewy overdone scallops, a mango cut into straws, fish sauce, and 3 leaves of green leaf under the sea shells, some sorta pork crumble or I-honestly-couldn't-tell-what-it-was-but-it-was-ick and a vinegar-y fish sauce dressing that... was heavy on the fish and lacking in tastiness. Crab rolls were ordered for the table, and they too were overcooked and... honestly gross. How do you mess up on a fried appetizer? Honestly. The best part was the sweet chili sauce, which you can get a bottle of at Sprouts/ Trader Joe's. Everyone else at my table ordered regular Thai fare... Pad See Ew, chicken satay, fried rices of different types... and they seemed content enough, I suppose. Our table of 7 was charged an extra service fee (of almost-$5 ea, I think?) because we were larger than a party of 6. This is absolute NONSENSE. I believe the rest in my party, who were on separate checks thought that that was an already-calculated tip... but I'm not certain it was... so I tipped on TOP of the service fee... bringing my total to $36 for the scant mango salad and an ice tea. Almost $40. FORTY DOLLARS. Those were probably not even wild caught scallops. This place can't cook them properly. It is a run of the mill Thai place. I wouldn't give it any awards. And I certainly wouldn't budge from noodles and fried rice if I ever find myself in there again. And I don't think I will. read more

This is one of my favorite Thai places in town. I have been coming here for years and the soup and noodles are always amazing. It is a bit dark inside, but lately they have added small table lights for ambiance, and it makes it easier to see your food. The staff is always so nice! Some of my favorites are the war wonton soup, pad see ew with seafood, and the barbecue chicken. Their bathroom is always clean, which I appreciate. It is a great spot for a date. read more

We have ordered pick-up to-go dinners here several times, but have never eaten in-restaurant so this review is specific to those experiences. I'm specifying that, because I hate leaving bad reviews but I've been contemplating this one for several days and decided things needed to be said. First off, for the small portion size and the higher prices, the food and service should be fabulous. The food here is generally better than standard Thai restaurants, but is very inconsistent from visit to visit. My husband has ordered the Pineapple Fried Rice 3 or 4 times, and wants it really spicy - he specifies spice level 8/10. The first time, it was what you would expect from a level 8 (I couldn't eat it, he loved it). The second time it was basically no spice and I ended up eating it because it didn't have enough for him. This week, it was somewhere in between - he didn't complain but didn't finish it, which is unusual. And was mild enough that my son ate the leftovers the next day with no concern over spiciness either. The inconsistent spiciness goes the other way too, because I order either no spice or level 1 for myself and the kids and there have been times we couldn't eat it at all. But our most recent, and the last as far as I'm concerned, order earlier this week was the final straw. We decided to order last minute because we'd spent the entire day trying, unsuccessfully, to replace our fridge so really didn't have a way to cook dinner. I ordered online, and my husband picked it up. He got home and right away I noticed that there was no rice included in my son's curry dish (which it does specify online) and that my soup was not the correct soup. I ordered the Tom Kah hot pot, which should have a creamy, coconut base to it with a lot of lemongrass flavor and I ordered it spicy level 1. While I haven't ordered this soup from here before, it's pretty standard everywhere and looks the same as what I expected in the picture on their website. What I received was a reddish brown, super spicy soup with tomatoes. So I was starving and irritated - admittedly, not a good combination, but I also know it was likely not the person on the phone's fault so I definitely was trying to be as pleasant as possible when I called to ask for a refund for both my soup and the curry. (we did eat the curry, but I had to make rice for it which was super inconvenient and delayed our dinner because who wants a curry broth with no rice?). The woman who answered the phone initially told me they would only give me store credit (not refund) for the soup and an extra small rice next time we ordered. While I would have prefered a refund to my credit card, I was fine with credit but when I pushed giving credit for the curry as well, since I had to make rice myself she replied "okay, I give you credit and the person who packed it will have to pay for it! Does that make you happy, maam?! Does it?! Are you happy now?!" Her tone was so nasty and clearly intended to make me feel guilty over this. I seriously have never been treated so horribly or talked to in such a terrible way by any service provider before. But what really has had me thinking about this is her reply about the person packing our dinner. Okay, yes - mistakes were made, and could have been easily rectified. But I do not want to be patronizing a restaurant that treats their employees in this manner, let alone how I as a customer was treated. So I won't even be going back to use the credit for these two dishes. PS. And just to pour salt in the wound, I ended up sharing my other son's Thai fried rice since I couldn't eat the soup (which went wasted) which did have chicken, but no vegetables or anything else in it. We did request no onions, but there were no tomatoes or anything else that is usually in it. So basically we got rice, which is super cheap, and a little chicken. Both the Thai fried rice and the Pineapple fried rice were very dry as well, like the rice had not been cooked quite long enough. read more

I thought this place was decent at best for the price you pay. Although, the customer service was great. I had no complaints. They were thorough and attentive while being seated. Ordered Pad Thai, sea bass, spare ribs, some type of curry (forgot what it was called), and Thai coffee. The pad Thai with tofu tasted great, rich, and flavorful. The sea ass was nothing special and for 35 dollars, I would def pass on it. The curry and Thai coffee both were great as well. A+ for everything! The server was very friendly and accommodating, and the decor is inviting and cozy. At first I thought my coffee wasn't gonna be sweet enough because it was so dark (even after mixing), but it was quite sweet. The spring rolls were just veggies and glass noodles, but I think black pepper gave it the finishing touch. Since it's now chilly out, the chicken Tom Kha warmed my tummy; level 3 was just the right amount of spice for me, and the flavor was chef's kiss. Finally, I really enjoyed the chicken Pad Thai; if you don't like fish sauce, you might not be a fan, but I loved it. We arrived for dinner around 8:30 p.m. and were enjoying our meal until about 9:00 p.m., when an employee named Jenny brought out a large bucket filled with Pine-Sol and placed it directly beside our table. She then began mopping immediately. The strong chemical odor quickly overwhelmed our food, and I began to feel nauseous. I politely asked her to stop, and she replied, "I will," but continued mopping as if she chose to ignore the request. At that point, it was impossible to continue eating. No manager to address the issue. Trying to eat dinner while surrounded by strong cleaning chemicals is unacceptable. We ultimately had to pack up our food and leave. So I go in for lunch and I ordered the lemon chicken. For my entire life lemon chicken had a good lemon type of dressing with a filet of Chicken. Whenever I go to a restaurant and they give me pieces of chicken deep fried in something I'm done. That is a cheap way to get around a dish that should be served as a filet ,not pieces. read more

We took our boss here for his bday and it was pretty darn good. We had a group of 16 and this place was super accommodating and spacious. I had the Pas See Ew with Shrimp and it was pretty good. I'd probably go elsewhere for the same dish as it just didn't have all the flavors I'm used to. The ambiance is cute and quaint. The noise level is a little loud when the place is packed. I really hate writing reviews like these. I really hope I can come back next time with a much better outlook. We ordered the lunch special with beef and chicken. They both tasted like ammonia. You know when you buy meat and it looks okay. When you defrost that meat and it starts to smell really bad, that's when you know the quality is not good at all. That's the same exact quality the beef and chicken had. There was this smell and taste of ammonia that made me really sick. I only had a bite and I couldn't continue. Even the smell really bothered me. When getting the waitress' attention, I tried to be really polite and give them the benefit of doubt. Again, I don't like to be rude but the meat was so bad. The waitress was really rude. She didn't even apologize. She simply took away my plate and said okay I'll take it off. It wasn't about what she said, it's more so about how she said it. Came here with coworkers for lunch yesterday. Been coming here before since they have great Thai food. The restaurant is very traditional when you enter. It's Thailand decor with the wood panel seats and the walls. Very sophisticated. The workers are warm and welcoming. Always checking in with us and see if we're ok or have any questions. What changed with this visit from all the visits I had in the past, is that they took away their lunch special. It was great to have lunch specials that included rice and salad and dessert for a great price. Anyways, the food is delicious. Previously, I discussed how it wasn't all that long ago that it seemed like all the best Thai restaurants in town were all clustered near Chinatown or central Las Vegas, in the seedier areas. Now, it seems like you can't go anywhere without finding one just hiding and waiting to be discovered -- all the more so if the restaurant turns out to be one of the more well-known Vegas mainstays. This is how we found Pin Kaow's Eastern location -- it was just about two years ago when I wrote a review for Pin Kaow's original location by Lake Mead and Rainbow, but now I'm only just now getting around to writing a review for the Eastern location, as well. Anyone who's seen my previous Pin Kaow review will recall how I raved about their food -- for me, this place hits just as hard as the original location, so much so that this place and Weera Thai Seafood at Town Square are, to me, among the definitive Thai restaurants here in Henderson. I've actually been coming here for at least a year, a year and a half now -- which is also embarrassing that it's taken me that long to actually review this location as well. The interior is done up with the same wood temple decor as the original location at Lake Mead and Rainbow, but it's a considerably bigger space and includes a patio for warm/cool weather seating when applicable. And the food, as I said before, slaps just as hard -- I've posted pictures from our most recent visit to the restaurant, but we've always been satisfied with what we get here. Standouts for me include the mango salad (so bright and fresh-tasting), the wor wonton soup (it's basically just a big warm hug in soup form), the moo ping (Thai pork skewers that to me rival even the barbecued pork skewers you get at Filipino restaurants), and their fried rice (during our recent visit, we ordered the crab fried rice, which is honestly one of the best crab fried rice dishes I've had anywhere). Of course, their menu is expansive, and you can find anything and everything even for the fussiest eater. When we were there last, we also had the chance to try a dessert they were planning to add to the menu -- banana spring rolls, which you can see in the pictures I've posted with this review. As a Pinoy, these reminded me of our very own turon, but they were a lot lighter and more subtly sweet than the ones I'm used to, which I actually liked. (To restaurant staff reading this, these would be great with ice cream and extra caramel sauce!) Here's to hoping they add it to the menu, because they were just the right amount of sweet and perfect for ending the meal with! All in all, everything here was just as good as I remember at the OG location on Lake Mead and Rainbow, but with the bonus of it being closer to home -- hence why it's become one of my go-to Thai restaurants in town whenever I have the craving for Thai food. We came here after getting picked up from the airport. I was craving something lighter and spicy so we got the tom yum soup with shrimp, beef salad, seafood salad, yellow curry with chicken, and crab rangoons. The tom yum soup was served in a boiling hot pot, so it was really hot and stayed hot. The beef salad and seafood salad were really refreshing, I ordered a level 10 for the seafood salad, and I think it could have been taken up a few notches, I should have asked for thai spicy. Pin Kaow Thai Restaurant definitely have stood the test of time! It's comforting to see that even through a pandemic, the food and service has been consistently good! They're located at Sansone Park Place in a busy plaza on Eastern and Richmar, and there's ample parking. They have enough table seatings available for groups, and there's also a few booths. For refreshments they have fresh coconut juice, Thai Tea (no boba), coffee and soft drinks. I had the Butterfly Flower Tea ($4) which is a blue iced tea that comes with a pretty flower, it taste light and refreshing, and not too sweet. For appetizers, the Spring Rolls ($6.95) arrived to my table freshly hot and crunchy. There's four vegetable rolls stuffed with cabbage, carrot, glass noodle and celery, and it's served with sweet chili sauce, it's good! I also enjoyed the Potstickers ($9.95) which are seven hand-folded dumplings filled with chicken, ginger, and Napa cabbage that's perfectly pan seared and served with a tasty house chilled vinegar soy sauce. They offer many great entrees from savory curry, Pad Thai noodles, hot soups to stir-fried, rice dish, there's all kinds of meat, seafood, and vegetarian items to try. I opted for Veggie Pumpkin Curry ($12.95) and it's very delicious! The red curry is hearty and super flavorful! It's simmered with kabocha squash which is cooked well and still maintains a slight crunch, there's red bell pepper, and Thai basil, with mixed veggies of carrots, cabbage, snow peas and baby corn. Curry is usually served with Jasmine rice but I requested for brown rice (+$2) with a spice level 2, and it was perfect! For dessert, they have mango sticky rice. I chose Fried Banana ($8), it's eight round pieces of crispy puff bananas accompanied with a yummy coconut ice cream that's topped with maraschino cherry. It was a delight enjoying this treat! Everything I had was satisfying and fulfilling, I left feeling happy :) The servers are very welcoming, attentive and polite. I didn't experience a long wait and someone would come by to occasionally check if there's anything else needed. I do recommend coming to this restaurant especially if you enjoy delicious Thai food. The flavors here are bold and authentic, dine in atmosphere feels calm and intimate, and the background music is soothing, it just feels nice to relax and have a good meal! read more
