BEWARE: This business is run by scammers and con artists. They knowingly sold me a broken vehicle, and they'll likely do the same to you. Sonny and Caroline like to present the image of a family-run business, but it's all a façade. They'll say whatever they can to make a sale, and then renege on your agreements and leave you in a lurch. Do yourself a favor and go to a more reputable business. Here's my story: I went to Maharaja Motors and test drove a vehicle. During the drive, the car's check engine light came on. Sonny assured me that whatever the issue was, he'd pay for an inspection and any resultant repair costs. I purchased the car. On the drive home, the car broke down. Sonny sent me to his "mechanic," actually just a neighbor of his. That individual simply turned the check engine light off and sent me home. The car remained inoperable and Sonny stopped replying to my text messages. Finally, I took it to my own mechanic and told Sonny, who finally replied "great!" Unfortunately, the mechanic has been unable to fix the car. Sonny no longer replies to text messages, phone calls, or emails. He refuses to help get the car fixed or take it back. I'm suing them in small claims court for the cost of the car. Save yourself the trouble and avoid these liars and scammers. read more

No hassle, no haggling, no overkill sales talk, a good price, and a car that's both exactly what I wanted and was in great shape. My previous used car buying experience involved two hours of the sales guy trying to talk me into spending more money, and a muffler that fell off four days after I bought it. Women often get treated like they're stupid when car shopping, and that did not happen here. They also gave me money on my 12-year old trade-in, which probably cost them to get rid of. Total cost of all repairs required in the first two months $806.81: 1. Severe vibration above 50 mph, due to flat spots in all 4 tires. Dealer stated to just air up the tires to max and they would be fine. Aired to max and vibration unchanged. Two separate shops took a look and both told me the car required all 4 tires to stop the vibration. a. $105 for diagnosis of the issue b. $511.94 for tire replacement and balance 2. Drivers Side rear floorboard completely saturated from leaking water. a. $14 for epoxy to repair hole in door trim that allowed water in, and around two hours of my time working on the vehicle 3. Cup Holder broken in half and re-installed in dash a. $49.24 for replacement cupholder and 30 minutes to install. 4. Significant Power Steering leak visible within 1 week. Power Steering system required to be flushed due to full of stop-leak fluid. The leak was fixed by replacing power steering cooler. a. $77.02 for new power steering cooler, $29.45 for 3 quarts of power steering fluid to flush the system and get the stop leak out. Eight hours working on the vehicle. 5. Driver's side door window and lock control module intermittently working. Cause was blown fuse that had wire wrapped around it instead of being replaced a. 2 hours troubleshooting electrical system. $3 to replace all blown / rigged fuses 6. A piece of the drivers side door trim was/is held on with double stick tape, found when troubleshooting drivers side door module 7. Neither KeyFOB working. a. Replacement batteries ordered. It turns out that BMW keyFOBs require you to be able to solder to replace the battery. Not just a battery swap. $8.91 battery, 45 minutes of work. 8. Lean Bank 1 and Lean Bank 2 code received within 3 days of driving the vehicle. Mass air flow sensor had to be cleaned. Fault codes have not yet returned (1 month of driving) a. $8.25 for mass air flow sensor cleaner, 1 hour of work 9. 2 outstanding safety recalls on the vehicle, found by buyer verified by BMW dealer, when questioned sellers insisted only one recall was outstanding On top of all the things wrong with the vehicle that was purchased, no information or paperwork for plates, registration or title was submitted to the DMV until five days before the temporary tabs expired (the tabs expired the Wednesday after a long weekend, the day it was finally submitted was only two work days before tabs expired) when prompted by the buyer. Had I, as the buyer, not made multiple phone calls back and forth between the DMV and the dealer to pursue why I had not received registration and title, I would not have been able to drive the car due to paperwork not being filed. read more

When I first walked through the doors of Maharaja Motors I was greeted by an impressive collection of quality vehicles both exquisite and mundane. Soon afterwards I met Sonny, Harry and Caroline each of which made me feel more like a friend instead of a customer. This family run business understands the value of caring for one another. I found myself in Maharaja Motors for no apparent reason on that day other than to look at and talk cars. After speaking with Sonny for over an hour on my first visit I learned that not only did he maintain an impressive array of vehicles but that he was also very well versed on their specific functions and concerns. I remember leaving the dealership that day feeling baffled that I never once felt pressured to buy a vehicle or even test one out. That was over two years and dozens of visits ago. Since then, it is my absolute privilege to say that I have bought two cars from Sonny, Harry, and Caroline and I could not be happier. The first car that I purchased from Maharaja Motors was a Porsche Boxster. As someone who sought balance, enthusiasm, and composure from a vehicle this model interested me. After searching for perspective Boxsters online I tested three (not including the one from Maharaja) and for one reason or another; price, compounding issues, or condition I passed on all of them. After mentioning this to Sonny I learn that he has a Boxster that he would sell to me. On first impression the car looks incredible with gorgeous paint, complete interior, and sound drivetrain. What impressed me the most however was the invoice that I received back from its pre-purchase inspection. The only noted defects were a burned out taillight bulb (fixed) and a blown front trunk strut (common). As I had brought two of the three other Boxsters to this same mechanic for a pre purchase inspection the difference in their qualities was apparent. Both of the other two Boxsters carried with them a laundry list of DIY or expensive shop visits, Sonny's car however needed only a taillight bulb, which I replaced. The hood struts were replaced by Sonny himself. When negotiating the price Maharaja was both very fair and patient. Ensuring that I was happy and not simply wanting to push one more vehicle out of the dealership was what proved to me that these people actually care about their customers. After using this car as a daily driver for six months I only replaced the front brake pads and rotors and in return received an incredible and pure driving experience. When it was time to get a new car Sonny, Harry, and Caroline were exactly as forthcoming and friendly as they were before. This next car however a Porsche 911 needed a new transaxle, I also wanted a new clutch, IMS, and RMS completed with the job. I wasn't expecting all of my concerns to be addressed simply reflected on the price but Sonny took it one step further. Not only did Sonny personally see that each of the aforementioned components were obtained but also properly installed. After trading in my Boxster (for a very reasonable amount) Sonny began to put in an incredible amount of effort on my behalf to properly complete my 911. I will never forget the day in which the car of my dreams was finally ready for me to turn the key and enjoy. On the night of my 21st birthday I thought I would drop by and check on the progress. Sonny did not know that it was my birthday but I found my car together and running. It was at that moment I began to see Maharaja Motors as family instead of your run of the mill car dealership. After finalizing the deal I could not have been happier in terms of price and value. I also learned that he got a transaxle with a limited slip differential and short throw shifter installed for me as well. I am absolutely confident that Maharaja Motors is dedicated to their customers and treats them as family. I would recommend a visit to Maharaja Motors to anyone interested in vehicles. This Dealership is the most unethical and dishonest place I have encountered. Sonny is a real piece of work. I drove from the south end twice. The second time I paid a mechanic to check the vehicle out for any problems or issues. Sonny and I made the a verbal agreement to purchase the vehicle and would pay him cash the next day. Sonny decided not to let verbal agreements or ethical morals to stand in the way of selling the vehicle to someone else. Sonny did not even ask if he could reimburse me for the costs I incurred. I called them a day later and spoke with a women that was to get pricing on parts and to see if they could order them for me. She called me back 2 weeks later, still didn't have pricing and told me she would get back to me. I never did hear back from her. This place is a joke! read more

Over the 2016 Memorial Day week-end I took delivery in Chicago of a 2007 Mercedes purchased from Maharaja Motors from their eBay posting. Within 3 weeks, I started having intermittent starting problems...long and short, rear fuel pumps are bad, repair costs $1,658. Front fuel pump may be impacted, estimated replacement $1,080. Right front bushing is bad, estimate $678. Oil leaking from oil cooler, estimate from dealer is about $2230. Even if they were unaware of the fuel pump situation, the oil cooler leak and front bushing would have been obvious from any inspection. No discolsure...buyer beware...integrity/character issue. these people sell defective cars, promise to either fix them, or let you exchange them, they keep pushing you off for weeks on end. the car i bought has a defective steering gearbox that locks up in a turn, i almost crashed twice. i have seen some of their other cars that they have on their lot, and they are pure junk. the only good cars there, are the ones they drive off the lot at night, and promise they will exchange yours for, but then mark down the car you bought from them a week ago by $3,000, and raise the price of the one you want by $2-3,000. keep away from these scam artists. read more
