They went…read moreoff an old xray from years ago and what was suppose to be a cavity filling turned into a tooth needing a root canal and crown. They hit my nerve put a temp filling in once the numbness went away I went so much pain! I couldn't sleep I couldn't close my mouth they didn't give any medicine. When I called the next morning they couldn't squeeze me in to fix the pain and issues they caused! My husband comes to San Dimas family dentistry and highly recommended them. I called was a new patient and they were able to get me in same day, take care of the root canal and do the temp crown all in the same day. My pain was wrong. The dr was gentle explained what was happening through out the way. Him and his staff are very honest and explain everything. Being able to be seen as a new patient and have so much work done the same day meant so much when the dentist I've been going to couldn't even do that. I will no longer be going back to them and sticking to San Dimas Family Dentistry. I highly recommend them and promise you won't be disappointed.

I found the Dentist of San Dimas through a landing page via google search. The option was for a new…read morepatient special $59 for a basic cleaning including digital x-rays. I called the office and spoke with Ely who confirmed the details and then I proceeded to make the appointment online. The process was very easy. Upon arriving at the office I was greeted by Brenda who was very nice (not sure what the other reviews about her were about) she sent me a link to complete my patient profile and it took all but five minutes. I was taken back for X-rays and photos of my teeth first and a saliva test which I'm so happy that they did. Everyone at this point had been so nice and caring which can usually be a hit or miss with dental offices. Then I was greeted by Dr. Courtney (USC educated Go Trojans!!!!) who was one of the most pleasant dentists I have ever been with. We had a briefing of my visit and then I was taken to the treatment room. Dr. Courtney then came and went over my X-rays and photos. I had been a previous tobacco smoker for years and knew that my basic cleaning was likely not going to cut it so I had come prepared. Dr. Courtney thoroughly went over the issues and suggested doing a deep cleaning to match my expectations of the visit for the day. She didn't try to upsell me on any additional unnecessary cosmetic services or anything that was beyond the scope of what we spoke about in our briefing prior which really made me feel comfortable. After I questioned cost Ely (who is such a sweet person) came and went over costs with me, everything was transparent, and I had a budget that I was working with. Without having to have a long extended negotiation and without any pressure Ely worked with my budget and came to an agreement. Once the treatment began I was greeted by the RDH Sarah B. Who was OMG so amazing and so knowledgeable about her craft!!!!!! She let me know that she had a meeting and that she would be doing half and Dr. Courtney would come and do the rest. Deep cleanings can be painful I knew this going into it and I didn't even feel the numbing injection that's how great she was. She got straight to work and was a perfectionist which I appreciate so much. Dr. Courtney returned for the second half and also with a perfectionist mindset really went in as gentle as possible and took care of my teeth. They were both so attentive in the process and asked if I needed breaks or if there was pain. Sarah returned to finish the process and when she showed me my teeth I was just amazed. They looked 100x better than what I arrived with! Yes. Pricing is a marginally higher than some dental offices, you just need to have a realistic budget to allow them to work with you. I would also say that the overall team was great and if it helps support the entire team then it's worth it. I will definitely return to them and highly recommend both Dr. Courtney and Sarah B RDH, not only for their knowledge and care but also just for the great energy they gave off during my visit. I am leaving 1 out of 5 stars because I left the visit confused, overwhelmed, and inadequately…read moreinformed. I expected clearer communication, clearer documentation, and a more transparent explanation before being presented with a significant periodontal treatment plan. I scheduled what I understood to be a routine dental cleaning, but the visit became a comprehensive diagnostic appointment with X-rays, CBCT, intraoral photos, and an OralFitnessCheck/aMMP-8 test. I was then told I had Stage III periodontal disease and was given a treatment plan for four-quadrant scaling and root planing, plus an added "Bac Decon/Qd" procedure. My concern is not that periodontal disease was discussed. My concern is that I did not feel the diagnosis and treatment plan were clearly explained to me with objective documentation at the time of the visit. I was not shown a full periodontal chart with probing depths, bleeding-on-probing findings, recession, clinical attachment loss, mobility, or furcation findings. I also did not feel that the CBCT/X-ray findings were explained in a way that clearly justified a Stage III periodontal diagnosis. Because Stage III periodontal disease is a serious diagnosis, I expected a clearer explanation of the clinical criteria, the imaging findings, and why each part of the treatment plan was necessary. I also felt overwhelmed by the financial/treatment plan when I had originally come in expecting a routine cleaning. I have requested my complete records, including the periodontal chart, imaging, clinical notes, written diagnosis, and explanation of the treatment plan, so I can review them and seek a second opinion before moving forward. We will see if they send me my data. Update 6/1/26: Only one test was given to me. I've asked again for all the information and called the front desk. Front desk staff said I would have this by end of day today. I will update again. Final update 6/2/26: The office eventually sent me a PDF of my records after multiple MyChart messages and phone calls. After reviewing what they sent, I remain concerned. The records I received do not appear to include a full periodontal chart with six-point probing depths, bleeding-on-probing findings, recession measurements, clinical attachment loss, mobility, or furcation findings. That is the type of documentation I expected to see after being told I had serious periodontal disease and being given a treatment plan for four-quadrant scaling and root planing. The written clinical note in the records states: "Stage II, Grade B Periodontitis, Distribution: Generalized," not Stage III. This differs from what I was verbally told during the visit, which makes me agree with other 1-star reviews that they engage in "scare tactics" to have new patients agree to costly treatment plans. The CBCT note in the records also states that alveolar bone levels were within normal limits, bone density was good around all teeth, and CBCT findings were normal. However, the exam note also states generalized mild horizontal bone loss, and the treatment plan still recommended scaling and root planing in all four quadrants plus "Bac Decon/Qd." I have now asked the office in writing to clarify: whether a full periodontal chart was completed, whether my diagnosis is Stage II or Stage III, and how four-quadrant scaling and root planing is supported by the records they provided. My next steps are contacting my insurance to reject their additional charged services and obtain a covered second opinion due to their inconsistent reporting. LESSON LEARNED: Please be informed about each test they are running if you are coming into this office. The time spent, the imaging taken, and the tests performed may go beyond what you expected if you scheduled a routine cleaning. Ask in advance what procedures are being done, why they are needed, whether they are covered by your insurance, and whether you may be responsible for any non-covered costs. If you are given a serious diagnosis, ask to see the objective documentation before agreeing to treatment. For periodontal disease, that should include the periodontal chart/probing depths, bleeding-on-probing findings, recession or attachment-loss measurements, X-rays/CBCT findings, and a clear written diagnosis. Do not feel pressured to schedule treatment immediately if you do not understand the diagnosis or the charges. Request your records and get a second opinion if needed. Good luck!

I was told that a 2D oral photographic image would not result in any additional cost to me or my dental insurance. However, when I later reviewed my insurance explanation of benefits, I saw that my insurance had been billed $346 for that imaging. After noticing the charge, I reached out to Dr. Pardo for clarification. Instead of receiving a straightforward explanation, she responded dismissively. Because Dr. Pardo knew I was trying to make the most of my annual insurance benefits, I was disappointed to see my available coverage used for a service that wasn't necessary. Dr. Pardo later said the imaging was necessary, but then why would the dental hygienist ask as if I wanted it in the first place? I shouldn't have to pay for the lack of communication between Dr. Pardo and her staff. I also called several dentists, and they all confirmed that those specialized images aren't necessary for care. There is absolutely no reason for Dr. Pardo to be dishonest and rude.

But that quickly shifted -- because it turned out all they really wanted was to get me scheduled with Dr. Hannah, their oral surgeon, and push me to extract both of my back right molars. As soon as I said I couldn't afford both and was maybe looking to do just one extraction, their energy changed. The warmth disappeared. I went back a month later just trying to get a price for removing one tooth, and the receptionist still kept trying to pressure me into getting both done. It felt like I was being sold something, not treated as a patient in pain. Today I returned again because my bottom right tooth and gum were hurting badly, and I was told the oral surgeon wouldn't be back until September. No alternative, no sense of urgency, nothing. Just a "come back later" attitude. I was standing there clearly uncomfortable and still got brushed off. And to top it off -- their prices are way overpriced compared to other places. I've since checked with multiple local dentists, and Sunshine Smile's numbers are way above average. Unless you're walking in with thousands of dollars and agreeing to everything they suggest, don't expect them to treat you with the same care. Once they see you can't afford their full treatment plan, the compassion disappears fast. If anyone from the office genuinely cares about how that feels, I hope this review reaches you. I didn't want to write this, but I walked out feeling hurt and dismissed -- and people deserve to know.

After getting home, I decided not to have procedure at my age for 3 back teeth implants. This was relayed to office, and they tried their hardest to change my mind. After a month, I asked where's my refund. I got "we'll, biller is not in until Wednesday" they will call you. No call. I went in for follow up of deep cleaning and Dr. Kayali explained how is money is tied up and that he didn't have the money and he would make 3 monthly payments to me. Each month, I had to remind them. I received 2 payments of $2,242.50 and 3rd payment of $2,242.00. He shorted me Fifty cents. I questioned it and supposedly they send me a check for .50. I received a empty envelope. Now if I drive 90 minutes to their office, he'll have my balance. ?? It would cost me close to $8.00 to do that. Bottom line, they have cheated me out money. How many others have they done this to? The 50 cents is not going to make me go broke, possibly him but it's the point. They want their $$ upfront, if you use credit card there is a percentage fee. What is this world coming to?? Keep your money, go else where in my opinion. He is a very nice dentist but not in the way he handles his business.

I am appalled by the negative commentary by Michael O. and CM. i have been going to Dr. Maher Bouz, DDS. since 1995. i took a chance with him because Dr. Paragin was the Original Owner of the Dental Facility. Needless to say in 20yrs the service the staff and hygentist have all been exceptional. I have had 8 root canals 6 implants the service has been incredible, it is a pain free enviorment the workmanship id as good as It get. The front office Group always provide the best possible service available. I personally have to pay cash for all my services and I have to pay over time. I have run my bill up in access of $20,000.00 and Dr. Mauher Bouz has let me pay what ever I can afford he has been ver flexible with my payments. Amanda, Dr. Bouz's right hand girl (who has been with the office since she was 19yrs old) is just as qualified as the Dr. at what duties she preforms, the hygentists have all be been there along time and are equally a caring bunch. I personally would not use any other Dental Facilty on the Planet. What ever Michael O. and CM's Issues are they can both both go blow sand. Did either one of you even really understand. My family and I have been going to Dr. Bouz for more than 20 years. Sadly, this year--after several botched dental services, we learned that Dr. Bouz and his office were merely taking advantage of those with decent insurance and not providing the level of dental services one would expect from a long-time family provider. Specifically, he does sub-par dental work which requires the work to be redone, only benefitting his pocketbook and not the patient. Notably, the only two decent reviews are from Rita and Mona--Rita is the rude front office manager who has zero people skills and Mona is Dr. Bouz's wife. Sadly, it took this family several years to figure out the incompetence of this practice--both in the front and back offices. Now that we are aligned with another (highly-rated) dental provider in the area, it was time to write this review in hopes that others will not suffer years of misdiagnoses, shoddy dental work and incompetent front office staff. Steer clear of this practice. There are many great providers in the area. read more

Relates information, crosses your T's, and dots your i's. The front desk makes the process to go smoothly, and your appointment go well. Not here. I lost a days pay because the lady at the front desk didn't take the initiative to follow through with my insurance to confirm I am relocating dental offices. And then, she wants me to call the dental insurance people to make the changes, when I was told just to come in to the dental office and they would make the adjustments. Long story short, I'll take my business somewhere else. I follow up with a recommendation.

Beware! SCAM!!! Corrupt, terrible, unethical, irresponsible dental practice. Stay away…read more My housekeeper went for a free consultation with Dr. Acevedo as advertised on Facebook. Dr. Acevedo recommended she get an upper arch replacement, for which she charges $35,000. My housekeeper took out a $23,000 loan two days later to pay for the procedure scheduled six weeks out. The cash from the loan went immediately into the doctor's bank account. My housekeeper then decided to get the procedure done with a different doctor. She tried to cancel the procedure three weeks in advance, but the office would not allow her to cancel without forfeiting all the cash that they had already received. She had to go back in person to the office multiple times and beg to get any refund. Ultimately, they did no dental work. One of the two crediting agencies, lending club, was able to get them to refund most of the money. Cherry lending, however, is not able to help in these cases. It was a terrible ordeal. After three trips, and several phone calls, the office returned most of $23,000-- but they made her sign a document allowing them to keep $2000- at first calling the $2000 charge a diagnostic fee then changing the paperwork to call it a cancellation fee. They did no dental work on her at all. They didn't even have molds made or anything. They only took x-rays, which she paid cash for. And they kept her money! This is outrageous. No one should ever go here. Be careful. They are not trustworthy. They just take advantage of vulnerable people to steal their money. They are now under review by the California dental board. The crediting agencies are also on notice regarding their unethical business practices. Abigail subsequently went to a different doctor who carefully monitored her blood sugar levels and did not perform the procedure for a full year until they were low enough to support a stable recovery process. At first, they gave me a quote for $1,800 out of pocket, which I never agreed to. Despite that, they went ahead and charged my credit card anyway. I had to schedule multiple appointments with the billing and coding representative to get the issue corrected, which wasted both my time and money. The cleaning was done by a dental hygienist instead of the dentist, and my teeth didn't feel as clean as I expected afterward. Overall, it was a very frustrating experience. Do not recommend this place!

I had a very disappointing and unprofessional experience at this office. My appointment was…read morescheduled for 1:30 PM, yet I waited over two hours with no updates. When I asked the front desk for an estimate, I was told "10 minutes," which turned into another 30 minutes on top of the long wait. When the dentist finally came in, he did not greet me, introduce himself, or explain anything. He came in grunting, immediately grabbed my bottom lip with force, and said "lots of tartar" -- which I already knew, that's why I scheduled the appointment. He then walked away to see another patient. Meanwhile, he spoke politely and attentively to the next patient, asking her about her concerns -- I was never asked how I was feeling, what my symptoms were, or anything about my pain. After this brief interaction, the dentist never returned. After nearly three hours in the office, I was told no treatment would be done that day. I was only given a prescription, and even that was communicated indirectly through the assistant while he was in the room. This experience felt dismissive, disrespectful, and completely unprofessional. Patients deserve basic courtesy, communication, and consent -- none of which I received here.

My daughter who has Down Syndrome is a patient with Dr. Banner at Elevated Dentistry and now I am! Dr. Banner has top of the line equipment and a very clean dental office. Elevated Dentistry is conveniently located near the 210 frwy & foothill in La Verne. Dr. Banner also makes house calls with his mobile business, In Motion Dentist for those who cannot make it to the dental office due to restrictions such as disabilities or other issues. This is such a great service! We've used it for my daughter before and we were very well pleased with his services. Dr. Banner was the only dentist who was able to get X-rays on my daughter in the comfort of our living room. I look forward to getting my smile back with Dr. Banner and highly recommend Elevated Dentistry in La Verne! They get 5 stars from me!

It's a high pressure, buzz word sales clinic, I came into this office because I had changed dental…read moreinsurance and my old dental office which I had been going to for years was no under this coverage. I have always been on top of all my dental visits, check-ups, X-Rays and cleanings (3x/year). Come the appointment for cleaning, the hygienist comes in hot and tells me I have major issues with my gums and need to have a deep cleaning ($140 OOP) and laser gum treatment ($400 OOP) then maintain deep cleanings every 2-3 years with routine cleaning every 3 months because of my "advanced gum deterioration" keep in mind my other dental office with routine check-ups and X-rays never found anything wrong nor have I felt anything out of the ordinary. I asked her to just perform routine cleaning and she refused stating that there is no point to doing that and only a deep cleaning and/or laser gum treatment is what is recommended, I was stuck in the moment and the chair I said go ahead and deep clean it. Also note, the only time I ever did a real deep cleaning it was done in two visits with 2 quadrants cleaned at a time, she cranked it out everything so fast so it was basically a normal messy cleaning labeled and charged as a deep clean. After the cleaning I consulted a few hygienist friends I have and got their opinion, a deep cleaning is pretty extreme and almost unnecessary if you've already had one and maintain good hygiene and regular check-ups/cleanings and they all pretty much summed up how some clinics will absolutely be sales driven and up-sell or recommend unnecessary procedures to rack up the bill. I'm going back to my old dental office and paying out of pocket, I had no idea there's a dark side to this industry and it showed here. The whole process did not feel right at all, it was rushed, sales pitch was fast, filled with strong buzz words and fabricated urgency like a used car lot or old gym memberships. I should have just left and went for a second opinion at another office.

Upon arrival, the receptionist was warm and welcoming and helped validate my Groupon purchase. The sign in process was fairly quick, just your standard dental intake form and I was soon called back to start the process. The dental assistant who administered the whitening treatment was so knowledgeable and kind! She talked me through the whole process, what to expect during and after the procedure, and she constantly checked up on me every few minutes to make sure everything was going smoothly. They also have tv for you to watch during the procedure! My teeth are noticeably whiter and most importantly I only had minimal discomfort. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for professional teeth whitening done right. Needless to say, I will be back! Thanks Glendora Dental Village!

Well.....we have more than one in our household. She billed me wrong 3 times!!! She does a incredible bad job looking up insurance and tries to over charge and a lot of people are probably getting ripped off but not me! I called her out 3 times for over charging and putting in improper codes to insurance company. When I was taking to my room and getting set up for my visit the assistant girl told me how her husband was trying do stuff with her and went on talking so inappropriate. So gross...I was just shocked. The dentist might be ok...idk but it's not worth it to me to deal with the staff.
