I cannot say enough about this restaurant. They are often busy, but this does not affect quality or service. We are always greeted almost immediately and seated as soon as possible. The food is hot, fresh, delicious, complex (as in complex flavors- so good). The servers are exceedingly professional. The decor and ambiance are great. I always feel good walking in the door. This is one of those "crave-able" restaurants where you don't want your meal to end, and can't wait to go back. Lunch is super reasonable. My last visit was about 8 yrs ago. Recently met a friend here for lunch. 8 yrs ago was with my parents; mom is Filipino and dad is Thai. Neither likes it, stating it wasn't authentic. Is have to to agree that it's still true. However, the food was still good. I did like that the Pad See Ew was good and had the traditional thicker rice noodles....could use more noodles on the dish. Down side was the shu mai (a Chinese dish) appeared to be frozen and not authentic (I'm a huge dim sum fan). The service was slow...taking about 20 minutes to get a server. read more

Awesome Thai food. While serving the USAF in Thailand I had many Thai dishes. Our local Thai place on Ohio Pike has seemingly gone away. IDW if she moved back to Thailand. Mai Thai in Milford is a bit a drive for us but well worth it. Pad Thai and Pineapple fried rice w steamed dumplings. My oh my. Just down the road going west from White Castle and Sonic. I ate around 7pm on a Tuesday. The place was packed! The ambiance is good, Asian-inspired but not tacky. Service was acceptable - they were very busy. There was a continuous din of conversation that wasn't too loud, and added good privacy to your own conversation. The sake came hot but quickly cooled, so I asked for hot water to set the sake pot in. They were happy to oblige. I have mixed reviews on Mai Thai. I was a little disappointed in my dinner after reading all of the wonderful reviews and seeing the high ratings on Yelp. The sushi rolls were huge!! Unfortunately, they were so big I could hardly put the entire thing in my mouth! The noodle dish I ordered was delicious! It will take me 3 days to eat the entire dish because it was so large! The service was spectacular! Everything was delivered very quickly and they checked in on me just enough. I did think it was on the pricey side, even though the portions were large. Compared to other places in the city, I would probably not come back for sushi, but I would come back for their noodle dishes! read more

Did you know that before Mai Thai was Mai Thai, it was Long John Silvers? Yep, this delicious Thai restaurant is housed in a former seafood fast food chain. The only way you can really tell it was a LJS is the floors and maybe the way the bar looks. Seafood aside, if you want delicious, yummy, make your mouth drool Thai food, go to Mai Thai. You will not be disappointed! Mai Thai used to be this sweet little secret on 42 but now a lot of people have caught on which means you'll probably have to wait for a table if you go around dinner. The waiting area is pretty small - it's right by the door/cash register area and has 2 chairs and that's it. But the space itself is pretty small, so there isn't much they can do about this. They don't do call ahead seating, so either get there early or make a reservation. I've never had their sushi or a drink from the bar so I'm not sure how those things fare. My husband gets the Thai Iced Tea every time we go there and he loves it. As for the food itself, it is so good. Vegetables are fresh and delicious, the meat is great, portions are excellent (if not slightly large, which means leftovers) and the price is reasonable. The sauces are flavorful. It's an all around great experience. Probably better than Sweet Basil. If you go there a lot... like we do... the servers eventually get to know you, as well, which is fun. The servers are very nice and professional. Never had a bad experience there. If you go there when they're busy and there is no parking in their lot, you can park at the nearby business area that's just immediately to the left of the restaurant (if you're looking straight on at the restaurant). read more

My favorite restaurant in Northern Kentucky! Hands down THE BEST THAI in this area! Don't waste your time, gas, and money driving all the to Mt. Adams for good Thai. The service is excellent here. There are lots of adorable and super attentive servers taking care of their customers. And often times the owner will stop over and say hello! I'm a big fan of Mai Thai. It is a relatively new restaurant located in a former Long John Silvers, which I find hilarious. The place is a little bit small and can get pretty packed on the weekends and even on an unusually busy weeknight, but for good reason. The food is great and the prices are pretty decent too. Their sushi is great, probably not the best in town but definitely a good addition to their menu. The place is well decorated and really covers up the fact that it was once a fast food mecca of fried fishy goodness. My favorite things to get here are their curries. I highly recommend the Mango Curry to anyone, get it a little bit on the spicy side. The sweet and spicy sauce that comes with it is amazing. Their mango curry is one of my favorite meals in town. They also make great appetizers, their spring rolls are pretty high quality and they make a great thai salad with carrots, peanuts, ginger and honey dressing. I often will get the thai salad with a sushi roll and get out of there for 12-15 bucks. Not bad at all considering the food quality. Their pad thai is also very good and I recommend it for anyone who just needs a pound of delicious noodles in their face, sometimes I know I do. read more

The Thai ice tea is tastes fine, but is served in a fairly small glass. Ask for it with no ice, so you get more tea, then put ice from your water as desired. We ate at Mai Thai tonight. We were going to catch a plane at CVG and our plane was delayed so we had a chance to stop and eat. We picked Mai Thai based upon good Yelp reviews. We eat sushi and Thai food all over the country and in Louisville. We had Pad Thai, Penang Curry, Satay, spicy tuna roll, and a eel roll. Pad Thai was ok. Penang Curry has a super thin sauce and was ok. Both sushi rolls were small not much fish lots of cucumber and disappointing. The chicken satay was a very generous portion and pretty darn good. The service was pretty good. Atmosphere was nice and they had a good crowd. I don't live in the area but do travel passed the exit frequently and I would never go back for sushi. Mai Thai is a gem of a restaurant in Florence. It is by far my favorite dining spot in all of NKY. The Pad Thai is respectable as is other rice dishes (Thai Spicy and Chicken Cashew). The Yellow Curry is also great. And if that wasn't enough, they have a very good Sushi menu. Their prices are right and service level good, though you may need some patience on busy lunch days.
