Stumbled upon this place on a Saturday afternoon and really enjoyed it. The food was top tier Thai for this area. Flavorful and deep. Loved the soup. An unassuming Thai restaurant in Bellevue, Siam Orchid is serving up quality eats for a reasonable price. The curries, fried rice and noodle dishes were all well made and had good portions. Even with takeout, they were nice and hot and maintained good flavor and quality. While the food was not incredible, it was solid and reliable and a good value. When I lived in Bellevue i used to go to Siam Orchid so often and it was amazing! The last two times I have tried their food it was not nearly as good as it used to be. I ordered tofu red curry spice level 5 this time. They gave me a spice level 4 instead which isn't a huge deal but, It tasted like a mixture of Indian curry and Thai curry. The consistency and flavor was off and the white rice was crunchy. They also forgot my order of veggie spring rolls which I didn't realize until I was back home. Great Thai food in a quaint little town in northern Kentucky! Any time we crave Thai this will forever be our go to. We got carry out and everything was hot and fresh. They also have delivery options available through third party apps. Service was great and with a smile as always. We enjoyed the crispy chicken pad Thai, crab Rangoon, steamed dumplings, and spring rolls. They all come highly recommended especially the crispy pad Thai. We both ordered the ginger chicken dish and were asked a spice level. both us chose the number right in the middle and were surprised at how spicy it was. Sometimes I feel like I go a number higher at restaurants than I think I want. However, here, we were pleasantly surprised at how much heat the dish packed. Sometimes I get it without the chicken and they will add more vegetables in its place for me. There are so many Thai restaurants around, but I was pretty impressed with Siam Orchid. Someone suggested it to me a while back but I kept forgetting to go. I finallyyyyy made my way there over the holiday season and am so glad I went! One of the things I liked most was my waitress. I unfortunately can't remember her name but from the moment I entered, she was so warm and friendly. She checked on me multiple times throughout the meal and was extremely kind and attentive. Now the food- You know, there are some restaurants Who drown their food in sauce which can really disguise if the ingredients are actually good. I loved that the selections I ordered were in a light save but still had so much flavor. Everything tasted really nice and fresh. You can tell they use pretty good ingredients and everything is made to order. I'm not sure how they are in the evening but they were too busy during the day either which was perfect. This is a smallish Thai restaurant in Bellevue. They seem to have a pretty extensive menu both Thai and other Asian cuisine. It was a beautiful night out so we sat in one of the two outside tables that are on the sidewalk in front of the restaurant. We started off with some Potstickers that were really delicious. They were very straightforward so if you like Potstickers you will definitely like these. My main course was a dish called Thai Spicy Chicken. It was sliced chicken, served with mixed vegetables, bamboo shoots, and red curry paste. I got it as spicy as they had which was quite spicy but not enough to bring tears to my eyes. It had great flavour and was cooked properly. One thing I will say is that it was not a very filling meal at all. I'm mean I know I'm a fat guy and I like to eat a lot but when I pay the money that is asked for at this restaurant I don't wanna be hungry an hour later. Also after we got our food we never saw our waitress again and we were out there eating close to an hour. That's simply unacceptable. I even had to go inside the restaurant to get my bill. I'm really torn on this as I liked the food despite me not getting enough but the experience wasn't good so I can't guarantee I'm gonna be back. I have had the best and the worst phad Thai I've ever eaten at Siam orchid. Sadly the latest trip was inedible mush with rubbery shrimp. The sauce was wrong. The noodles were wrong. Not sure if they lost kitchen staff or changed ownership or had a bad night. They did take it off our bill. I also ordered the mussels appetizer and it was not good and that is being generous. Avoid. Super thin wonton wrappers and (almost too much) cream cheese, crab, and shrimp. I've never complained about having too much filling before, but please don't stop! The noodle dish was spot on with lots of crisp veggies, tons of yummy scrambled egg and chicken, and perfectly cooked thick rice noodles. If I lived here, I'd come here again and again! read more
