So, I got my eyebrows done and I got what I signed up for. The fact that I don't love them is simply preference and nothing to do with the service itself, I'm sure many people would love them. However, it is the lack of say I got into my own eyebrows on my own face. I asked for super natural and subtle eyebrows (I will picture my before and after). I was not asked what color I would want, instead she decided to mix black and blonde for my BLONDE eyebrows. I immediately panicked and asked how dark they would really be and she told me "you'll be able to see when it's done". Like, I'm sorry? Now I can't even see how crazy I'm going to look? I also asked for barely an increase in thickness and was met with DOUBLE the size of my eyebrows. Now, I'm stuck with blonde black eyebrows and I feel the most insecure and ugly I have ever felt. My appt was at 8:30am and parking was easy...they do recommend arriving early because it's in Old Town but this early on a Tuesday was smooth sailing. The salon is very clean, trendy, the jams are great (major girl gang vibes), and the staff was friendly at all points of my visit. I scheduled with Anna Tran after seeing some of her work on their website and I was so glad I did! She works quickly (efficiently) but it is really great work! I've been getting my lashes done for about 8 years and I'm SUPER picky about them. Definitely recommend Anna! I love this place a lot. I've been to a few lashes places in the valley and stopped doing it for awhile because they seem to come off in a week or so, which wasn't my experience coming from Cali. I found this place and only have to get them filled every 3 weeks and they still look pretty good after that long without a fill. Kelly is AMAZING!!! She does really great work. I highly do NOT recommend this business. When I had first arrived at the I had showed my lash artist an EXACT picture of the look i wanted (the picture of Kylie Jenner below) My lash artist verbally communicated to me that she COULD do that look. When I got up from my session, not only were my eyes red and irritated, my lashes looked absolutely nothing like what I wanted. Honestly, the lashes looked incomplete in general. I have been coming to this business for many months, so I was extremely confused at how shitty my lashes looked, even more, so confused when it became such a difficult process to get my money back. I asked for a refund and was told that they needed to check with the manager and then get back to me. After multiple phone calls having to re-explain the situation because apparently the colleagues do not communicate with each other, I was given back 40% of my money. Extremely unprofessional, and I'm super bummed that I wasted my money on a company like this. yelp is not the only platform that I will be voicing my review on. I had such high hopes for this place & was excited to get both my eyeliner & eyebrows done by the owner. However, although they were nice, professional, & clean - she didn't listen to what I wanted for my shape. She did the initial measuring & told me this was the golden standard. But I didn't really want that - I like my brows more arched and a bit more thin. After the 1st session I text them that I felt my eyebrows were uneven - one eyebrows was thicker & the other one more arched than the other. I tried to be optimistic that when I went in for my touch up that it would be fixed, but it wasn't. Now one eyebrow is even longer than the other in the front. Instead of remeasuring & making sure they were even, she just freehands it. She said it was because the muscles in my forehead made it look that way but thats not true. I felt like she just didn't give a crap about me & how I felt about the eyebrows. Nothing to make me feel better or effort to try to correct. I had to tell her that I needed it more defined on one & that the tail was shorter. Once it heals, I will need to use makeup to shape them correctly & wait for a year or two to get them fixed by someone else. I know eyebrows aren't twins, but more effort could have been made to take my feedback/worry & measure out the eyebrows again. read more

I went for Microblading with shading combo. My technician was Amy and she was amazing ! I came in requesting for the Korean straight brow but after making some measurements and taking some pictures she explained to me in detail why it would be better that I have a slight arch in my brows rather than just the straight kind. It takes some time before you start seeing how the final product looks (and they provide detailed information on pre and post care so you know what to expect) so keep that in mind! This applies to just Microblading in general. But overall I had such a wonderful experience at MaiLash starting from checking in and working with my brow tech Amy! Looking forward to returning for my 8 week touch up and annuals after that! FYI total payment is broken up onto 3 parts, deposit, main service, and touch up. My review of Ann remains. She does awesome work. Everyone gets sick; some of us more than others and some more than most. Getting sick is inconvenient for everyone involved, and I understand late cancellation policies normally; however, during a pandemic that has killed over 180,000 Americans, when k-12 schools are attended online, and jobs that "could not be done from home" are, in fact, being done from home, I would anticipate grace and flexibility as we navigate this new world for our protection. Mailash? NOPE! I have not been anywhere but a doctor's office in months. It was probably stupid and selfish of me to try to get my lashes done in the first place, but they make me feel good about myself and I missed that feeling so much. I have asthma and allergies; I woke up coughing and "sick". Pre-Covid, I would not have thought twice about keeping the appointment. Post-Covid, I didn't want to be a "donkey"-hole and potentially put others at risk because of a "want". I tried to do the right thing and postpone. They still wanted to charge me as they would have pre-Covid--although they still referenced now as "during this time"--so I offered to come in because I'm pretty sure it's just asthma. They graciously waived the fee and offered an alternative date. Now, this is the part that infuriated me and triggered my Yelp review change. Two minutes prior to my appointment, and a little over 6hrs after our earlier communication, they fired me from Ann's service. Given the rest of our conversation, I can only assume the timing was on purpose, to prevent me from coming in to abide by their policy, and totally a **** move. read more

Overall, I'm extremely disappointed. They have an offer listed on Yelp (this is how I found the location) that they wouldn't honor. Then I felt they didn't communicate clearly. I asked before my service if they would honor the offer on Yelp and the girl said that it was supposed to be with only two techs (neither of which was who I booked with) and only for a classic set. The offer does not specify who or the classic/hybrid/volume set (as shown in the pic). The girl that checked me in took a picture and said she would ask. After some time, another girl came over to let me know she could offer $120 for the full set and a lash serum. I specified that I wanted hybrid and I said that was perfectly acceptable and I was happy with that. However, when I went to checkout after my service, I was now told it was $150. I let her know that she had told me $120 and she said no, that was for classic only. After tip, it ended up being $180. I was originally expecting $99 + tip. This was highly unprofessional and I will never go back. That's so shitty to tell your customer that $120 is fine since you can't match the online Yelp offer of $99 (which is obviously unclear on which tech and style it applies to) and then bait and switch. To top it off, the tech didn't even get the correct style and left uneven lashes. read more
