So the first time I used Main Auto Body was probably back in 2002 or so? They helped with an insurance claim for a totaled vehicle. So while I wasn't as involved w/ that process, it seemed like everything was handled very well and it all worked out positively for us. Recently though, I had an issue w/ my 2005 RX330 where the top moulding was coming loose. It started to become a constant issue every time I'd take it through a car wash. So I ordered the OEM parts for it thinking one of the auto repair shops I use in Bend or Corvallis would be able to take care of it. They both said that wasn't something they could help. The guys in Corvallis recommended Main Auto Body so I started with giving them a call to explain what I wanted help with. They said I could stop by anytime and they'd give me a free estimate. So i few days later I was able to stop by, they were very friendly at the front desk, had me pull in to the covered area and then w/in about a minute, someone came out to see what I needed. The guy who helped me was super helpful. Checked out what I had going on with the old moulding and saw how i just wanted to swap out the old moulding w/ the new moulding. Then basically just took care of me on the spot! Got some cleaner to make sure the adhesive would take good, and took the time to rotate the moulding both ways to make sure we'd get the best fit possible (turns out there was a better way to do this). And then about 20 minutes later, we were all done! Said there was no cost! I was thrilled w/ that :D But more than the fact that he got me taken care of at no cost to me, it was the fact that he took such care in the process. I could have seen paying more to have a mechanic do this and if they didn't know what they were doing, i could see them just making an assumption. But here he took them time to really make sure he was getting everything lined up right, pressed in correctly, triple-checked everything. So he gave me the kind of value I'd expect if I were paying for top quality service, but w/out even charging me for it. Made me look forward to the next time I might need to use them for some other service. Really appreciated how they took care of me and would certainly recommend anyone needing their services to at least start w/ a call and see if they can help. read more

I had a small fender bender and my 4Runner only had minor damage to the fender. The only issue was the front fender was pushed in and when I turned to the right the tire rubbed against the fender. I tried to pull it out but couldn't. So I went to Main Auto Body and had them take a look. The guy in the front had a mechanic come out to take a look and quoted an hour. Then about a minute later the mechanic brought out a tool and after about 3 mins he had it pulled out and back to normal! No charge. Not everyone would do that and it's nice to see someone who helps with the easy stuff even when they don't have to. read more

So, one thing led to another and I backed my 4Runner into a horse trailer. I dented the living crap out of the back fender on the passenger side...as well as my pride. Took it into Main and they had it taken care of within 24 hours. As a car enthusiast I can appreciate good paint work, and the blending these guys did was flawless. You can't even tell that I don't know how to back up my own vehicle. I would recommend them to anyone I know. read more

I was updated throughout the process of price changes, new parts being added, and when the vehicle will be done. The staff was AMAZING and when I picked up my car I was shocked by how great it looked. They clean, waxed, and replaced my license plate cover (all of this free of cost). After reading the reviews, I was a bit concerned when my insurance company told me that Main Auto Body was their only Corvallis shop. However, everything worked out very well. Communication was great. I felt fully informed throughout the whole repair process. Everyone was completely respectful in all conversations. I received continued and accurate updates. My car was ready exactly when they said it would be ready. Most importantly, my car looks great! The paint on the new parts matches perfectly with the existing paint. All in all, I am very pleased. I dropped one star just based on price. I feel like they maximized their opportunity to bill my insurance company for every aspect of the repair. I feel like, if I were paying out of pocket and seeking a competitive bid, the repair would have been more reasonably priced. All in all, my overall repair experience was excellent! read more

I used to praise this place for it being the only shop I had to go to ever since moving here almost 4 years ago. But after today I will never give them as a recommendation! If you have a customer who doesn't understand, has clearly stated they don't understand and just want the correct information you don't treat them terribly, have an attitude and then lie to the next person you speak to about them. I recently had someone hit-and-run my Prius while I was shopping (the parking lot was super busy and nobody knew who did it). I was driving by Main Auto Body and thought I'd stop in to get an estimate, super convenient location. When I parked, I noticed a couple of people sitting at a table in the parking area trying to gather signatures for recalling our state governor!? I hadn't noticed the sign when I drove in, but I can tell you I drove OUT much faster than I drove in! NO way am I supporting a local business that puts their politics front and center, especially when I don't agree. Luckily I have a neighbor who recommended another place to fix my car, no politics were involved AND they did a good job. read more

Main Auto Body is not trustworthy. Things were stolen from my vehicle while in their shop. I noticed right away when I picked up my truck that the ash tray was missing. Yes, they stole my ash tray full of quarters along with my sunglasses, bluetooth adapter, and tire pressure gauge. When I immediately brought this to their attention, they claimed that I was lying because they don't remember seeing those things in my vehicle. Even an acknowledgment and willingness to look into it would have meant something. The whole experience was infuriating! read more

I took an older Toyota PU to the Corvallis Main Auto Body about twelve or fifteen years ago and was very impressed with their work, so when I needed more work done recently, I went back without even getting another estimate because I trusted them. (I needed work done on the front and rear because I saved up several small dings until I needed to get a bigger one fixed.) When I was finally able to pick up my truck (it was delayed twice beyond their promised date), I noticed that there was a gap on the right side of the tailgate that was about ¼ inch wider than on the left side. After I pointed it out, they took it inside and hammered on it to decrease the gap, but it still wasn't perfect. (I later noticed that they hadn't painted the tailgate side of the fender below the taillight.) But then I got it home and started checking it out. I wondered if they had adjusted my headlights after they re-installed them, and found that the right headlight wasn't working at all. I popped the hood and saw the lamp socket just hanging behind the light assembly. I plugged it in and the light worked. I almost never drive at night, so it wasn't until several months later that I noticed that the headlights had not been adjusted when they re-installed them. I figured that can't be too hard to do, so I tried doing it myself. After turning all the adjustment screws and seeing no results, I started checking things out more carefully, and saw that the left headlight assembly was only bolted in on one side (the two left side bolts are missing). Then, I was concerned that they may have overtightened my canopy mounting clamps (which would crack the fiberglass), so I checked them and could move them about a half inch either way with my fingers! So, they snugged them down but hadn't torqued them at all! (This is a heavy fiberglass canopy and could have come off at highway speeds--maybe killing people!) The front license plate had been bent in the crash, but they didn't even bother to hammer it flat before re-installing it--literally a thirty second job! I also noticed that the paint has tiny craters where bubbles had formed and popped as they dried. I also saw that the support brackets behind the grill were still slightly bent--clearly showing that they had been damaged but poorly straightened. So, I'm not at all happy with their very sloppy work and lack of attention to detail. Although the body work looks good from a distance, there are uneven gaps from one side of the grill to the other. I'm very disappointed that the car wasn't ready when promised, wasn't road ready (SAFE TO DRIVE) when I picked it up--and that I had to take it back or fix some things myself. I can understand how someone could have missed one or two small things--especially if new to the job--but the work should have been inspected by a supervisor to be sure it was up to industry standards--and SAFE TO DRIVE--but it wasn't! And when I took it back to point out all the problems, Mario acted insulted--as if I had no right to complain--and kept telling me that he didn't charge me for the pin striping (although the charge is listed on the invoice). So, NEVER AGAIN MAIN AUTO BODY! YOU DON'T DESERVE EVEN ONE STAR! UPDATE: After talking to my insurance company and another body shop, I was encouraged to go back to MAIN and talk to the manager, Dana. He was very apologetic, accommodating, and I think he said embarrassed about the poor quality of the work. So, a do-over is pending, and I'm increasing my rating another two stars based on the manager's response. read more

Worst business I have ever dealt with! I have used them because of a lack of options twice now. Both times I left unhappy. This time all I need is a bumper installed. It has taken 7 months and my bumper is still not installed!!! After being told they would get me a loner vehicle, I was told after calling back twice that they don't have one and that I will have to figure out the vehicle situation myself. Horrible customer service, continual delays while they had our car for nearly 3 weeks instead of 5 days as quoted, ridiculous excuses, poor communication. I just had a great experience with Main Auto Body and wanted to pass a good review along to other people. I know it's usually easier to review when we are unhappy so I wanted to make sure and add a my good review here. When you are in a fender bender you are already a bit irritated and on edge having to deal with the aftermath. The people at Main were courteous and professional. Garrick, who did my estimate, was very friendly and informative about the process. My car got fixed and looked great. I noticed a flaw which I unfortunately had to come back and request fixed but they took it on quickly and got it done while I waited. I recommend them highly and thank them for doing a good job for me. By the way, they gave me some of the paint to match my car so I can do other touch ups. Don't forget to ask for that- it's one nice perk in a crummy situation. read more

I was hit in a parking lot by another driver, and was sent by their insurance company to Main Auto Body & Paint in Corvallis, OR. Previously to visiting Main, I went to three other well-reviewed body shops in the Portland and Corvallis areas (Freebird Auto Body, Canyon Auto Body, and Artistic Auto Body) and got the damage assessed. Each one of them was beyond kind and courteous, and suggested that the damage to my rear bumper was significant enough that it could not be repaired and would have to be replaced. I had a 100% opposite experience when I went to Main Auto Body. The appraiser assigned to me was very disrespectful. When I showed him the damage to my car after I had explained the circumstances that lead to it, he stated "why are you even mad about this." He then went on to mock me for even considering getting the car fixed. I explained to him that I just got the car and I, very understandably in my opinion, like to have my cars in good cosmetic condition. I mentioned that I detailed cars and was very meticulous in fixing issues and he laughed at me. He then scoffed and ignored me for the rest of the inspection. To make matters worse, he completely ignored me when I was showing him the damages to by bumper that were sustained away from the initial point of impact. My bumper is cracked in both wheel wells from being forced inward and he only acknowledged the dent and paint cracks from the original point of impact. Furthermore, he boldly suggested that anyone who thinks they cant fix that "is dumb" and that they don't think replacement of the bumper is necessary. I find this hard to believe as the three body shops I previously mentioned stated that it simply could not be repaired and look professional, and that the bumper had to be completely replaced. After compiling his incomplete information, Mario went inside and wrote an estimate that only covered a small part of the damage my car sustained in the accident, which significantly lowered the settlement I received from the other drivers insurance and wont even get close to getting my car back to the condition it was pre-accident. After I left my appointment, I was in shock with how badly I, a potential customer for Main, was treated. As a result, I cannot recommend ever taking your car in for service as you will be treated like a piece of trash before your car even gets close to their bays. I will be receiving my check from insurance and taking my car to someone else who actually cares about the customer. Please save yourself the trouble and time and take your car to Freebird Auto Body for any needs you have if you are in the Corvallis area. read more

My door was opened too far (thanks a lot wind!) and the hinges bent. They took a look and were able to realign the door latch free of charge. Now I can close my door without a loud metallic sound, and I don't have to slam it! Also gave me a reasonable quote to replace hinges to make like new again, and told me the breakdown of the part cost and labor. I will probably get it fixed later in the month, but for now I'm just happy to be able to close my door! read more

I went in for an estimate on Tuesday for my car that someone had hit. The guy who helped me asked to many personal information about my insurance and the other persons insurance that did not pertain to the estimate at all and I felt like he was overstepping the boundary between client and worker. I believe his name is Chase I can not remember exactly. He came off very arrogant and in a way trying to tell me what to do as if he were my father that to me was disrespectful. I proceeded to ask him if he could do the estimate or not as I was on my lunch and did not have to time to spend on pointless chitchat he said yes he could take the pictures and then email me the estimate. I thought great he is willing to accommodate me. Well I never received an email and yes I checked my junk box. I gave him 24hrs incase he was just behind on work. I call back Thursday and the gal up front transfers me to him and I let him know I did not receive the email he proceededs to ask if I have gone to other body shops for an estimate which is non of his business and proceeds to ask if he needs to send it to one of the insurances in which I state no just send to me for now as that was mine and my families plan. He said he would resend the email well I never received an email I think 72hrs is enough time to do an estimate. I fell like no one should bother with this place. I fell like I got this treatment because I am a young female and it is not right. I feel disrespectful and honestly really offended I would not recommend it at all to ANYONE! I recently took my Mazda into Main Auto Body in Corvallis after it had been backed into. They had done such a wonderful job on my Honda a few years back, I decided to go with them again. The staff was very welcoming and cheerful which I enjoyed because I wasn't too thrilled about my car situation. They were able to get me scheduled in right away and even had Hertz rental cars on site which made things really convenient for me. My repair took five days (mon-fri). Every other day they called me with updates to let me know how the repair was going and that they were still right on schedule. When I came to pick my car up I was able to just leave the rental car at their shop and hop right into mine. Loved it! The repair work was once again amazing. They even ran my car through their detail shop so she was squeaky clean. Thank you Main Auto Body team for making my car look new again! read more

I went to Main Auto Body to get a repair done on my front fender because someone backed into my car. I thought they were going to be of great service as I have used them in the past with no issues. Well, this was not the case this go around. I took my car in for the estimate and they stated it could be fixed and they would have to match the paint to my drivers door, which I thought was great. The paint job and the correction to the fender looks great, It is the after care that scares me. I have a BMW, an older one but that is okay. When I arrived to pick up my car I received a message on my dash indicating there was something wrong with the fog lights. I got out and there was an issue. The left fog lamp would not turn off. This made me believe there was something wrong. Well, I did not take possession of the car and let them know there was an issue. They stated that there was nothing wrong that they could have done. They did not even work with the fog lights at all. Finally after a day or discussion and the rental car agency not willing to continue to pay for the rental I did take possession of my car. I scheduled it for an immediate check-up with my mechanic. After some time my mechanic determined there was a short in the wiring but could not determine where exactly without much more detailed inspection. I stated let us hold off and I will go back to Main Auto and see what they have to say about it. When I was able to get my car in with a Technician they did locate the issue and it was they pulled the incorrect wire into the fog light. What they did was plug the wire in from the marker light into the fog light and the fog light into the marker light. This seems to me to be a rookie mistake and they should have been able to determine this without me going to my mechanic and spending the money to get it diagnosed that there was a short. I have mixed feelings about my experience with Main Street. From an efficiency standpoint and quality of work, it was excellent. My car was in and out quickly and looks better than ever. However, service at the front desk is awful. The women at the front desk kept flirting with the men that work there and then called me "my dear" like I was a child or an elderly person. I was embarrassed to be sitting in the waiting area listening to the juvenile banter going on. So the front desk is patronizing and unprofessional. I got into a car accident, fault of the other driver, on December 9th 2017. The other driver came into my lane without seeing me, and swiped the whole right side of my car. The other driver's insurance is Progressive, and Progressive has a relationship with Main Auto Body, guaranteeing that they work on my car for four hours every day. I opted to go through Main because of this agreement, thinking my car would be done in a timely fashion. The first time I picked up my car was on a Friday in early January, and it had a terrible, foul smell, and there were air fresheners hanging in my car. The panels didn't align, the mirror didn't align, the interior was hanging down where the door jam connected, and the handles were still scratched from the side swipe. I scheduled to take my car back on Monday to have those repairs done. Saturday morning, I opened my glovebox, and found that a rodent had eaten through my firewall and lived in my glovebox during the stay at Main, hence the terrible foul smell. I took my car back to Main on Monday, told them about the rodent issue and asked that my car be detailed. They agreed. They called me the next business day stating that all repairs had been completed and my car had been detailed. I went to get my car now for the second time, and none of the repairs had been taken care of. My door still didn't align, the mirror still didn't align, the handles were still not buffed and painted, and there were SEVEN air fresheners hidden amongst my car. They had vacuumed and dusted as their "detail". At this point, Progressive no longer wanted to pay for a rental vehicle since repairs were supposed to have been completed, and Main provided me with a 1999 Toyota Camry. My car is a 2013. I accepted it, thinking it would only be a few days until my car was actually done to satisfaction. The repair representative for Progressive, Tim Quiel, insinuated that Main would be going above and beyond to have my car professionally detailed because they couldn't prove the rodent infestation and Main "works really hard to ensure they don't have rodents". Back to the shop my car goes, to fix the alignment issues with my doors and mirror. I received calls from Tim stating that the USED parts they tried to put on my car (door and mirror) were warped and that's why they didn't align. Then I had to wait for factory parts, because they tried to use used parts. It is now January 19th, and my car is still not done, after going to Main on three separate occasions when my car was supposedly "repaired", and telling them that my car was not completed. I left a voicemail for Tim, asking for a rental vehicle, since a 1999 Toyota Camry is not a satisfactory replacement, and since Progressive should be providing me with a rental vehicle the whole time my car is being repaired. Again, Tim insinuated that he was going above and beyond by calling Enterprise and scheduling a rental vehicle for four days, until Tuesday morning. I called Enterprise and they don't have a vehicle until Sunday, January 21st. DON'T give Main your service. My car has NOT been repaired to the shape it was in before the accident and I'm getting screwed over repeatedly. Main has insisted every time I go to pick up my car that "it won't be perfect", but it sure as shit needs to be in the shape it was in before the accident caused by another driver. Not only has my car taken longer than it should have, Main has tried to give it back to me in terrible shape, and with rodent excrement in my glove box. DON'T GO HERE. read more

Probably the worst experience I have had at an auto body shop ever. I got the estimate and made the appointment a month out to get my car repainted. At the time I made sure all forms were signed, even forms I did not have to sign yet just to make sure nothing went wrong when I brought the car in. They never called me to make sure I knew to come in for the appointment, good thing I had it written down. When I got there, the workers took the car, and made sure all their information was correct. Then on the day I was told to pick the car up I never got a phone call. So I called them, and they said they have not started on the car because they never got the authorization from the insurance to start the work. Shouldn't they have called me earlier in the week if that was a problem? They were authorized to do the work over a month ago! I was without a car for five days, and I took it back so I would not be without a car for another five days. Completely unprofessional, and I will never recommend this place or take my own car there ever again. read more
