My husband and I are hot chicken fans so we were excited to come visit Main Bird! The restaurant is a little small on the inside but they do have a good amount of seating for pairs and a couple groups of four. I would highly recommend main bird for people trying hot chicken for the first time. I had the hottest spice level for my wrap and it was not a burn your mouth out spice but well balanced. Now, if you're a heat fiend like myself the hottest level here would seem like a hot level at most other places. My husband does not enjoy super spicy foods and his medium level spice was perfect for him. The staff was super nice and I highly recommend the mango lemonade! The reason for 2 starts is only because customer service the young man at cashier really wanted to fix the issue and was very kind about it. We got our order and drove home ready to eat. When I opened the box it smelled burnt. I brushed it off and took few bites and it taste burnt, no seasoning of a Nashville taste, drove back close to 1AM and got the orders remade. It was just a little more fresh but still burnt. I had to peel off the skin to eat around the chicken. I end up sadly trashing the dish. And paid close to $50.00 for an 3 meals. Super great hot chicken!! This is probably one of the better hot chicken places I've tried as far as flavor and spice. Came here as a group which was not the best since they have very limited seating but we were able to still sit near each other. I had the dirty Mac extra spicy which was phenomenal!! I absolutely loved the kick. The comeback sauce was pretty good. You can sub crinkle fries for waffle fries such was pretty awesome. Their menu consists of sliders, tenders, fry combos and milkshakes so it's a bit limited but still lots of variety within those options! The staff was super friendly and the service was sooo quick despite it being busy. I also liked that they had screens you can self order from to dine in or to go. Terrible customer service- there were 5 people in the kitchen cooking and it still took about 15-20min to get it. Additionally, when I got there, the cashiers were outside and said "guess we have to cook now". When they gave us our food, the food was completely dirty and there was cheese and sauce scattered inside the bag. Food was disgusting- leading to when I got home, we opened up the food- excited since we were starving, and besides the conditions that the food was presented, the chicken seemed to have been prepared either the day or week before. Old bread, stale chicken, and the breading for the chicken would clump up because there was so much spice to it. To give you an idea, when I took a bite of the medium spice leveled chicken, the roof of my mouth was covered in sand like spice. As soon we pulled in the guy at the front desk saw our lights and proceeded to TURN OFF THE MENU SCREENS How does one order off the menu if the screens are off. Came here for a quick dinner tonight. We had a hard time finding the restaurant. It doesn't stand out but it's between the Pilates place and the Mediterranean restaurant. See my photo to reference the storefront if you don't want to get lost lol. The chicken was cooked perfectly. It was juicy and crispy. They have their own dipping sauce called comeback sauce. We wish we would have got more than 2oz but you can buy more for .50 cents. Not bad. We know for next time. The combo meal for $13 was good. We also got the Dirty Mac $10. It had waffle fries, Mac n cheese, chicken with sauce and cheese. You can order your chicken to your desired heat level. The hot was spicy but not crazy spicy where you can't handle the heat. Medium was perfect for me. Overall good food, good value and prompt service. They were getting a lot of Uber eats/door dash orders so I'm thinking most people take their food to go. If you're in the mood for all things hot chicken, this is a good place to satisfy your cravings. The customer service was helpful and the overall experience of walking in, ordering, and walking out was super quick and easy. After learning that it was my first time eating there, the cashier strongly recommended half cheesy sauce and half comeback sauce for my Dirty Mac and it was definitely a good choice (tbh I like both equally). I tried this food truck turned brick and mortar hot chicken place with some family members one Saturday for lunch. They are located on the side of the shopping plaza facing Louetta, pretty near the Indian restaurant. Upon entering, there are touch screens for ordering, set up like a take out place, but you can also dine in. I'd say this is not the ideal restaurant for a large group. There are a few 4 tops right up front, then 2 tops running down the narrow walkway toward the back where restrooms are located. We had 3 people in my group, and we were the first to arrive during the lunch hour. The ordering was a little challenging because they call everything sliders here, but thats just a misnomer. The presumed owner indicated they are full sized sandwiches. This turned out to be true since it's a full sized bun (when ordering a slider), although the meat is just a massive chicken tender on steroids. My family members loved the taste of the hot chicken and said it was the best they had ever had, I on the other hand didn't see anything special as for me most hot chicken tastes basically the same.... I had to come see what all the hype was about yalllll Okay upon walking in the location seemed smaller than i expected, but still had good seating! It is a restaurant where you order on a tablet instead of talking to an employee and lowkey i love that! It is a card only restaurant so be prepared for that! The plate it's self was a good serving of fries and sliders and can easily be shared with two people! The bun was so soft and had a good amount of comeback sauce on it ( tasted better than canes sauce) pickles and a tender that was so big ! The cluck it up fries were order to be extra hot and omg ahaha i would have been fine with hot it was so good tho for those who love their lips to burn after a meal ahaha ! updated review after coming here at least 6 times since their grand opening, love it! my husband is obsessed with this place. The dirty mac is alwaysssss a must for us, cluck it level of course. Now, the first time we came here, there was a supper long line with a really long wait. Everyday after that first visit, has not been the same, virtually no line and no wait to order! There's a new girl & gentleman named Sam now who works the register and they are so nice & lovely! Awesome staff. Food comes out stupid hot and fresh so I don't mind waiting a bit after placing the order. Now the food, like i've said, in the previous times we've been here we always order "Cluck It" spicy. On Thursday I wanted to fully enjoy my food without sweating my face off so I ordered it "Hot". When I got home, I took a few bites excepting little to no heat, so I ate a bunch of bites before actually swallowing or tasting it. MAAAAAN LOLLLL. they accidentally still gave me "Cluck It" (probably because my man & our dirty mac were still "Cluck It" , mine was the only one that was "Hot"). What a regret taking so many bites like that!! i'm talking about, unlimited salivation, unlimited snot running down my face, my face was so numb I couldn't even tell there was tears running down my face, snot running for a good 30+ minutes AFTER finishing eating. I had no milk at home either so drinking water made it way worse. This place looked so good on Instagram. Stood in line for about 30 minutes waiting to place an order, waited an additional maybe 20 to get my food. I was so excited, ready for this Nashville chicken right here in Houston. This chicken was a spit in Nashville's face, the chicken tasted like it was cooked in burnt grease, it had no flavor to it other than the spicy seasoning on top, my chicken was hot yet soggy. The fries I could barely bite them, they were cooked so damn hard, I got the Mac & Cheese fry meal thingy. It was awful. One star for the Mac & Cheese I'm not gon lie on a plate of misery the Mac & Cheese was a plus. It was good no cap. My bae got the fries w half combo sauce and half cheese. The cheese was good but the combo sauce was pretty bland, it was giving watered down Cane's sauce. She felt the same way about the chicken, it wasn't over cooked but tasted burnt which was weird af. Again it was giving old grease. When we were done w our food we looked at each other and wished that we'd chose Waffle Bus instead. Good hot chicken items are served here, in this small spot in a strip mall. There's not much seating so you might be waiting or forced to take it to go on a busy day but it's worth a visit. The menu is small but focused. There is a small variety of chicken sliders and tenders, plus fries and milkshakes. It's a nice setup for couples since you get a little break on pricing if you get a combo that comes with two sliders and fries. The sliders are not tiny things served on a little square Hawaiian roll, they're more like a small burger but the fried chicken is a thick chunk and sufficient along with fries for a normal appetite. If you're really hungry you could handle the combo on you're own but I thought it was just right for me and a dining mate. The restaurant will season the chicken to your choice of six spice levels. Can't say I'd necessarily make a long trip to come here but I did like the food enough that I'd stop by if I was in the area. If you have a larger party and need seating, or want a bigger menu that includes more interesting sides and appetizers and bone-in options, head a little father west to Tumble 22. Have been a fan of this place since it opened in the Kleinwood Center. Went there today, and ordered a chicken wrap meal to go. There was no one else there, and mine was the first order up, but it took 15 minutes before my food was ready. Got home, the wrap was good. The fries were worse than In 'N Out's. Tough, just above room temp, as if they had been under the warmer for hours. This is the closest place to me for hot chicken, but I think I'll start making a longer trip to one that gets my food to me faster, and has yet to disappoint. read more
