Very nice hot chicken sandwich and strips. The sauces are actually spicy. Delivery service was quick and easy through lunch drop. Price was okay.
We really enjoyed trying this place. The employees were very cool. The food got to use super quick and wow you get a bang for your buck. The meals are massive, we had leftovers for a whole other day. The original with no spice I will say lacks a bit of flavor but the texture is great. The fries are soooo delicious. I want to come back and try their new Mac and cheese.
The food is great, made to order fresh! The tortilla soup is wonderful. Great flavor. The loaded fries is enough for two people! Better come hungry!
To all of my SPICY LOVERS out there... YES. I came here with an old friend to explore some of the menu items. My friend ordered the strawberry hibiscus frozen lemonade. I had the cucumber watermelon (not frozen) lemonade. I highly recommend the lemonade not frozen. You are gonna need the drink! Extra side of water would be even better. I ordered the spicy sandwich combo that came with a tender. I asked them to make the tender "lift off" style which was SCORPION PEPPER SPICY! Super good and loved the flavors. Everything from the taste of the spicy chicken sandwich to the amazing flavor of their fries. If you are not a sweet/ spicy fan.. im not sure this would particularly be " your jam" but it was ours. We LOVED it. Service was very friendly and helpful. The wall painting was so cool. Such a "hip" vibe. Highly recommended!!
Was in the area and saw that Houston TX Hot Chicken is around the corner. It was a no-brainer that I had to eat here again, especially after I was left impressed the first time I had their food at Katy. This time I had their secret menu, and tenders with slaw. The secret menu was 2 Belgian waffles with tender and slaw. I had the honey butter rub which was so good. The Belgian waffles were served hot and crispy. The tender was cooked perfectly, and it paired well when dipped into the mild spicy house sauce. I love the tenders and slaw too. Everything was served piping hot and fresh. Food was served to my table and the staff were so polite. Though this restaurant isn't as big as the one at Katy, there is still a good number of seatings for big and small groups.
Another hot chicken restaurant in Houston. I had lunch here a couple of weeks ago for the first time. It's in a nice strip center with parking in front. Inside it's a counter service eatery nicely decorated. I ordered the original hot chicken sandwich w/fries for $13 and added a drink from the self serve drink fountain. They have several heat levels and I went with mild. The food took about 10 minutes before ready. The sandwich and chicken tender is a little smaller than some of the competition however it was still big enough and plenty of food. It was a good tasting sandwich. Also the crinkle cut fries were hot and had Cajun dust sprinkled on them and good tasting too. I would be glad to return and order this meal again.

I really wanted to like this place a lot but I think Hot Chicken is just not something that I enjoy as everyone else does. Having said that Houston Hot Chicken has a lot of sauce options and it's a great addition to the growing halal scene in the Houston/Cypress area. I have tried their Original hot chicken, nuggets, and fusion fries. On another trip I tried their classic chicken sandwich. Between the original hot chicken sandwich and the classic I think I prefer the classic one. The classic one does not have the sauce on the sandwich but it's also lacking the coleslaw. If I go back I will probably get the sauce on the side for the original and have the sauce on the side. I remember really liking their coleslaw but the sauce is just not for me. I dipped my fries in the sauce on my most recent visit and I just did not like it. I found it to be a bit sour and the flavors did not really sit well with me. It's a good spot if you are in the area and want a quick bite to eat especially if you are looking for a halal spot. Service was nice and friendly.
Service was nice, and the ambiance was clean and with modern decor. The chicken was decent. I got the honey which lack seasoning but was good with the dipping sauce. Others ordered medium which had a decent amount of seasoning. I wonder if the no spice means no flavor??? About that waffle.... It's a big no for me. It was super sweet with chucks of sugar crystals- a huge turn off. One was so big it looked like a tooth. We also tried the red velvet puck and it lives to its name. It was gross and crumbly. Everyone is so friendly and helpful. They greet you as soon as you walk into the restaurant and thank you for stopping by when you leave. It feels great to be acknowledged right away. The food tastes amazing as well and their milkshakes are soo delicious. The place is very clean and welcoming. I would definitely recommend it. Overall great experience every time my daughter and I visit.

The coleslaw adds a nice touch, and the chicken was amazing as always. The fries are the weak point, but the chicken makes up for it. They give so much food here, i took half of it home for leftovers too. The vibe of this place is pretty cool. It feels kinda bougie while still being a fast casual restaurant. The service is always good too, i never have any complaints. The food is usually out pretty quick. I'm looking forward to coming back here!
Came here for a Thursday lunch, as I was craving a chicken sando! Initially found this place from a Yelp Elite week, and the first go round was super yummy, so the choice was easy when we were looking at places to go! We arrived during lunch rush hour, so parking lot was full, but there's plenty of places to park. Came in to a clean, and bright restaurant, love all the bold colors and paintings they have on the wall. Our wait wasn't long, and were greeted quickly by smiling staff. The lady who took our order was super patient as we navigated the menu with questions on spice level and drink options! I got the plain chicken sandwich combo, which comes with housemate pickles and no cole slaw and a side of fries with the strawberry hibiscus lemonade! Let me tell you, this sandwich is big, I could only eat half, and the portion of fries is quite large too, and seasoned deliciousously! We also got the original chicken sandwich combo which comes with the pickles and coleslaw and then an order of the strips, all of which looked delicious! They've got a great variety of specialty lemonades, which all taste yummy! Will definitely be coming back here, I saw someone with the fries, and they looked stacked and loaded, so that'll be the next order!!

It was my first time visiting Houston TX Hot Chicken, and I was genuinely impressed. The food was excellent, and I'd absolutely recommend giving them a try, I'll definitely be back. I ordered the original hot chicken meal along with fusion fries, mac and cheese, a strawberry hibiscus lemonade, a chocolate milkshake, and a red velvet cookie. Everything was on point, from flavor to quality. They also offer large platters, which would be perfect for events or gatherings. read more

It feels like on every other corner there is another hot chicken place, but I have to say that this place is one of the good ones. I haven't tried their Chicken Soup yet, which is something that I want to try, but I do like their chicken sandwiches, the mac and cheese was pretty good and so were the different flavors of teas. The medium was a pretty good spice level and it has a good amount of kick. I paid for the extra cilantro ranch and I actually did not like it. It kind of had a weird tang to it. The crinkle fries were good. The chicken had a nice crisp to the outside, juicy and tender on the inside and the buns were soft, although not warm. I will say, I think they're a little on the pricier side, especially for those sauces, but it is a good place to try out. read more

I think Hot Chicken restaurants have kinda nailed down what they are all gonna look like at this point, and HTX is right in line with that style. Wood walls, fire murals, tv's, and a bar coming soon. The menu follows the mold here, there's the standard sandwich and tenders options and a choice of slaw and fries. Not sure if I'm meant to take the name as a statement of differentiation, but I'm not sure if there was anything that made this HOUSTON hot chicken as opposed to the regular Nashville Hot Chicken that's been popularized. The tenders were quite big, but the breading needed to be crunchier in my opinion. Would suggest more of a batter than a breading. Spice levels had a good range, they had maybe 6 or so I think as compared to the standard 5 many places go with. It helped find a good level for me. Interestingly they labeled their spice levels with Scoville units, never seen that before. They have a couple of different sauce flavors to choose from, but at an extra charge of a dollar, seems pretty steep. Asked for ranch, but was given their House Sauce. It was just a sugary Cane's sauce. Paired well with their fries which were awesome! Don't change a thing with those crinkle cuts. I liked that they had a selection of flavored lemonades, they come as the regular drink or iced, kinda like a slushy. They were WAY too sweet. Went with the Blueberry Lavender and liked the flavor, but the sweetness overpowered the drink. Some nice things here, but other spots are doing it better. read more

Sandwich comes with a chicken patty and pickles. The spice levels are no joke, so would not recommend getting TOO ambitious (unless you're trying to test your limits -- then go for it). I like to think I have a pretty good spice tolerance and the medium was just the right amount to enjoy my meal while getting a little kick. I tried a bit of Liftoff and it was definitely yummy for a couple bites but I would have started sweating if I tried to finish it. Fries were yummy and crispy. The sauce was my favorite part, it's delicious and on the sweeter side -- complemented the spice super well. read more

great chicken sandwich, I got the mild temperature but that was too hot for my mild taste. Sandwich was delicious as my sinuses were opened The chicken patty itself was seasoned well. The french fries were crispy and seasoned to perfection. I also tried the frozen strawberry lemonade. Kids ordered the chicken tenders and loaded fries which they enjoyed and agreed that the seasoning was perfect for them as they got mild also. This was our second visit. Really enjoyed the ambiance of the dining room and that out food was brought to us as we waited. we will be back! read more

My husband and I visited this place for a second time while running errands today. The first time, though service was amazing, the mild chicken was not as favorable as I'd hoped. Let me tell you about this visit... I ordered the fusion fries...OMG! You MUST try these! I loved the crinkle fries the first time so I was excited to see that's the fries they used in this recipe. The best part about this item is the array of flavors all in the same bowl. You get the sweetness of mango, the saltiness of cotija cheese, the savoriness of the black beans and corn, and the creaminess of the cheese and avocado crema. And on top of all that is the chicken strips! Mmmhmmm! The fusion of all those flavors is supremely satisfying! My husband went with the medium cheesy chicken sandwich meal with a chocolate shake. He said the bread is the perfect denseness to hold the chicken, slaw, pickles, and cheese. He said if it were not as dense, it wouldn't have held together so perfectly. The shake had a nice ring of chocolate syrup at the bottom from it's fresh blend. The servers were as accommodating as the first visit. Philip was making his way around and checking on all customers The place was packed. If you tried it the first time and didn't have a 5-star experience, try it again. Fast casual has arrived in Houston and Houston TX Hot Chicken does it well. I ordered the Texas Ceasar Salad and a fountain drink. They faked me out originally, as the fried chicken strips were completely covered by cheese and croutons. A quick stab with my fork revealed two large, juicy, perfectly fried chicken strips. The lettuce was crisp and fresh. I enjoyed the salad and washed it down with an Agave Cream Soda. One of the nice things about fast casual (compared to fast foods) is the effort that the restaurant owners put into creating a welcoming environment for their patrons. Was able to try this new establishment out this evening and let's just say I'm glad Hot Chicken has made It's way to Houston, TX. Service: Immediately walking in we were greeted from the distance even with a busy evening! The cashier at the counter was extremely friendly and recommended the favorites in which we took her offer lol! I wish I got her name to give a shout out on here but just know you were greatly appreciated! Wait time for the food was fast about 5-7 minute wait from ordering! Food: The cheesy chicken sandwich was definitely the way to go! The flavorful thick viscous cheese in the sandwich was made to be! Chicken tenders are massive and sooo tender! The crinkle cut fries are in my opinion the best crinkle cut fries I've tried anywhere else! Fries were fresh and golden crisp to a perfection! Beverage: Ordered the blueberry lavender lemonade after our cashier let me sample all three flavors which was amazing! The cycle ever lemonade would be my next option! Get ready to be overwhelmed with amazing service and delicious chicken. The moment we walked in, we were greeted by the staff at the front desk. The joint is exceptional well kept and spacious enough so that you can sweat from the spice in peace. We ordered the Cheesy Chicken sandwich with the 'Liftoff' level of spice and the Three Tenders meal with medium level of spice. The chicken was so juicy and tender for it to be chicken breast, but it is. This quite literally dissuades me from making chicken breast at home. The medium level of spice was just right for me personally - spice level a tad bit below of Sriracha. My partner was super satisfied with his sandwich and how the flavors all went together well. He is accustomed to spicy foods so the 'Liftoff' was not too spicy. The fries were crispy, not overfried, not underfried and seasoned. The seasoning has such a familiar taste but I could not figure it out. I asked but the employees would not crack. They state that their lemonades are "house made" so I decided to go with bluepearl lavender lemonade in a slushie form. I was told that they do not put any added sugars which delighted me even more. My partner ordered a chocolate milkshake which practically saved his life. Let me explain. We were graciously provided a complementary salad and my adventurous partner decided to pick the the spiciest level food the chicken; Houston, We Have A Problem!. It is roughly 3x hotter than the 'Liftoff' and the restaurant requires a signed waiver form. Judging by how much darker the chicken was, you can visually see the problem. Luckily the milkshake was there to provide some relief. Be warned, this is not for you if you think Jalapenos is problematic. Overall, this was arguable the best chicken I've had in a very long time. I don't live close by here but I will make repeated visits just to enjoy the best chicken in town. read more

This place is amazing!!! Not only is the food excellent, but the staff is just as great! Yaritza was so helpful and kind during our visit. She helped us look over the menu and recommended popular items. We were not disappointed in our choices! First off, their lemonades are SO good. We favored the blueberry lavender and got it as a slushy. We also had the strawberry milkshake and it was thick and yummy! The cheesy chicken sandwich was crisp and delish! It comes with cheese, pickles and coleslaw. The fries on the side are so so perfect!! Seasoned well and come out fresh and crisp. The 3 piece tender meal was good as well! You can order a different heat level on each. We went honey butter, mild and medium. I wished we had ended up trying something on the spicier side as well! Can't wait to come back. The huge modern painting is very attractive to me. It turns out it's painted and customized by an artist in person. Accompanied with the neon light and marble dim lighting, the chill vibe is all over. Couldn't expect anything better than this in a fried chicken place. The decor is absolutely a 5 stars. I tried spicy one which indeed is a bit spicy. lol, I love how they add mango in the food which adds fruity fresh flavor, making the perfect balance with the spicy chicken. Hot chicken seems to be the trend this past year or couple years. This has to be one of my favorites so far. Upon walking in we were greeted kindly. Any questions we had was answered politely. I ordered the Chicken and Waffles and it was tasty. The waffles weren't like ordinary waffles from the store or something, they had a taste to it where you can go " oh that is from Houston TX Hot Chicken". The chicken was huge for tenders. At first I was like man two tenders for this much but when I saw how big they were, price of the food makes sense. The environment, food, and staff made the visit a great one. I hope this place lasts a while as this space has gone through many changes. I even hope they get to expand. read more

We visited the Houston TX Hot Chicken for an YELP event, but wanted to buy something to go...Tortilla Soup for my hub the next day. First the place is clean, modern and counterstaff and Manager are all so cordial and helpful. If not for the YELP event we would not known of this place. It is better that the other, well known chicken place. Hubs and I shared the Tortilla soup the next day, I had two bites and we agreed it was as good or better than mine. You are able to choose your spice level (mild) and it was perfect. I want a Lavendar Lemonade or one of the specialty Lemonades next time, but the Milkshakes look amazing. We will be visiting again and I will try something else...The salads sound delicious. Very happy to find this place and they have only been open 3 or 4 weeks. read more
Always a big fan of hot chicken since I went to Nashville 5 years ago (Hattie B's anyone), so will travel for some good, spicy chicken. Located in Louetta (Longtime Houston resident and I had to google it), it's in a nice new Plaza with plenty of other shops and restaurants. Oozes modern. Clean and fun. Parking up front is a bit limited, but more in the back. Very easy to spot once you're there. First off, service is great and on-point. Some of the nicest people you'll ever meet. The space is fairly large inside with plenty of tables, and some outdoor seating if that's your thing. The interior is immaculately clean, more so than a fast casual place typically is (especially since it's brand new). It was about half busy when we went but orders were coming and going rapidly. Got a chicken and waffle plate as well as the loaded fries. Got spicy (equivalent to habanero) and a mild. Now, I eat spicy (e.g. pluckers fire in the hole), and the best thing about this place is they give you the relative spice ranking. So no more guessing, pick your number and go with it. The spicy had a nice kick, it builds up over time but easily handled. The next 2 levels will probably kill most normal people. The chicken itself is juicy, and the sauce is amazing. Full of flavor and calories, but exactly what you need in a hot chicken. The fries were meaty and crispy, compliments the chicken perfectly. And the waffle is the perfect desert, don't even need the syrup for it. The loaded fries is similar except chopped with slaw. Would probably stick with the tenders and fries instead of mixing them all together but they're both good. And the homemade lemonade is great as well. Definitely try it. read more
This was my first time visiting this establishment. The cashier said they've only been open for 3 weeks. It was really clean. I went after work and the place was empty. I had the chicken sandwich, crinkled fries with one of their signature lemonades; Strawberry Hibiscus which was really refreshing and didn't have a lot of sugar in it. The sandwich was crispy and tasty with medium heat. Coleslaw and pickles were also on the sandwich. Loved the decor and restroom doors were even themed out. Overall, the service and food was great.
