One of our male teachers had to step in and stop one of the patrons fighting with the miners that were attending an event there. Went to buy the summertime passes for myself and family. The guy selling cards/passes didn't know anything about it. I asked to speak to a manager. A younger blonde girl came out and handed me a pamphlet and didn't say a word. She just stood there looking at me. I asked her several questions which she had no answers for. I'm a big fan of Main Event. We had one open near us when we lived in Phoenix and I was sad to leave the fun behind. My husband and I went here for part of a daytime date when it was less crowded and that was a good choice! Had our pick of games to play. We tried to pay at one of the two card kiosks but neither worked, unfortunately. This place can be slightly overwhelming with so many shiny things begging for your attention (especially in the arcade area), but some super cool and unique game options like a virtual reality Star Wars game mixed in with the old reliables, like skee ball. There is the awesome arcade area but is also bowling, laser tag, gravity ropes, pool tables, a bar, a restaurant, etc. Pretty all-inclusive for fun regardless of age group. A group of four of us went to bowl for two hours. With shoe rental, it ended up costing $80, which was a little pricey. The lanes are also VERY close together... a party ended up right beside us and everyone found it a little tight and awkward. We had a nice server, but hard to find. Much faster to go get drinks from the bar. The food was really good! I recommend the cheesy fries. The bowling mechanisms worked flawlessly, which is always a concern at the cheaper and much older bowling alleys. Overall, we had a great time and plan to return one day. read more

We recently had my son's birthday party here, and we were very pleased. ME was busy and many parties were taking place, but our fabulous part hostess Maddie/Mad Dog coordinated everything seamlessly. As expensive as this place is, one would expect that staff would be paid a fair wage. M-Th you can pay $22 per person for unlimited activities (Bowling, Laser Tag, Gravity Ropes, and Billiards). **NOTE** The activities require sign ups ("reservations"), so do this right as you arrive. It was not an issue, and we did not have to wait; however, if they get busy, you would need to be on the list. All the activities were super fun. And because we paid for unlimited, we did them multiple times. Definitely feel like we got our monies worth. Good for all ages, but best for 5+ and up. We attended a 10 year olds birthday at Main Event today. This is a GREAT place for a kid's party. This party included bowling, laser tag, and a game card for each child. Everyone had a great time and the party came with a party assistant to shepard the event along. The reason I only give this place three stars is because they did not have anyone busing tables and cleaning up the lounge areas. In three hours, the same dirty glasses were stacked on a end table by the couches in the middle of the game space. I realize many places are struggling with staffing at the moment, but three hours is more than enough time for someone to clean up a table. read more

Service is absolutely terrible. Still tipped the server 25% out of principal but they took forever to acknowledge us, never cleaned the table and we waited more than twenty minutes between drinks. Additionally we bought the $25 bracelet passes but no one told us we had to sign up in advance for laser tag and/or ropes course. When we went to the laser tag station we waited twenty minutes while the attendant saw us but didn't acknowledge us. When the current group came out she finally approached us and greeted us rudely. When we showed her the bracelets and said we wanted to go in she simply pointed us to another counter. When we went to that counter they told us it would be two hours. We told her there was a group coming out and she said that doesn't matter. When we asked about the ropes course, which was empty, she laughed and said it would be two hours for that. Had the folks at the ticket counter explained the process it wouldn't have been a problem. We wouldn't have bought the bracelets and would have just hit the arcade. It all started with trying to book a reservation online. After multiple attempts to book a reservation, I got frustrated and called Main Event, and was told that online reservations were not possible on a mobile device, and I would have to use a home computer. The representative told me that it was also not possible to book a reservation over the phone. After I told them that I don't have access to a home computer, they decided that they could make the reservation over the phone after all. I found it odd that after a solid 45 minutes of trying to make a reservation, they still charged me a $10 convenience fee, but I paid it nonetheless. We arrived at our scheduled time, picked up our bowling shoes and started a round. After about 20 minutes, the building lost all power. No problem, we all assume it's nobody's fault, and we patiently sit tight while they figure out the issue. The lights intermittently go on and off over 20-30 minutes or so, and they eventually came around and asked everyone to evacuate the building and told us that we would receive either a voucher or coupon for a later date. We stopped at the exit and they took down everyone's phone, email, and information whilst promising that we should expect some form of compensation on Monday morning. Monday came and went so I called Tuesday afternoon and was told that nobody had any recollection of promising compensation for the issues, but the manager wasn't there so they would have to call me back. I received no call back by Thursday, so I called again. Again, there was nobody available that could help and they offered to call me back again. Friday - one week past our original reservation - I called again, finally spoke to a manager and was promised a refund receipt would be promptly sent to my email. I received an email showing the receipt from my original reservation, which I can only assume they hoped I wouldn't realize what it was, and no refund was ever made. I checked my statement in hopes that it was just a mistake but it was not. It was just another scummy attempt to try and fool a customer. I called back again, and was asked to hold until the manager returned, within a few minutes, someone came on the line speaking Spanish... Turns out, they transferred me to the Tucson location, seemingly in hopes that I give up and forget about my refund. You win, Main Event - I no longer expect to receive any compensation for my wasted money. I can only hope that you don't continue to conduct business in this manner with other customers. I am sympathetic to the fact that the location experienced an issue that night that was likely unavoidable. Its fact that the staff clearly had no intention to provide the vouchers that we were all promised, and is just standing by in hopes that everyone forgets that they never received any compensation for a wasted night out. It's the empty promises, and at this point, outright refusal to make it right that ensures I will never return to another "Main Event". Save your money, support a small local bowling alley or event center rather than wasting your time and money on Main Event. read more

Fun spot for entertaining kids -- laser tag, bowling, ropes course, billiards and arcade. It can get pricey - $19.99/person for all-you-can-play except doesn't include arcade and shoe rental. I think the Monday $10.95 all-you-can-play after 4pm is the best deal. Tue special is kids-eat free. Check out their website for daily specials. FYI Costco has a $100 gift card for $79.99. Also do the email sign-up to get 30min of free arcade for select games ... although you won't get the tickets if that's important to your kids. Honestly the prizes are not that great, haha. They have a restaurant onsite too. For us, it made more sense to buy individual games. Laser Tag was fun ... $7/person. Bowling was fun too, and the scoring system is pretty funny with the selfies. They have the bumpers too if you have small kids, and big screen TVs if you want to watch sports. Cost is $22 for up to 5 people, 1hr game, plus shoe rental cost. For the arcade and video games, my favorite was the VR game ... OMG so well done and riding the roller coasters felt so real. FYI $3.50/person for the VR.
