We had about 12 of us plan to celebrate a birthday at TopGolf in Farragut. The place has two levels and stays decently busy. Being a Monday evening it was quiet upstairs as we made a reservation prior. We watched a few friends first to get the idea and then we ordered a few pitchers of beer and a couple apps and started taking turns hitting frozen ropes out into the net. The game you pick will always determine the points for the type of shot so choose wisely. Once our crew began loosening up, we enjoyed the humor of a bad swing and trickling balls that ensued. They have a bar ups stairs and downstairs, but once you go to your lane you have to visit the level you are on. That part lost me as I thought it might be nice to relax and have a chat or 1-1 at the bar while the others took turns. Not sure what difference it makes where I order a beer for just myself but apparently it does matter at topgolf. We had good service and the food was basic bar food, nothing over the top. The beer pitchers were great on a hot day! The fans kept you cool for the most part, it might be a good idea to set up a misting fan area to cool off after hitting 20 in a row. Terrible service at the front desk honestly. The service once you get to your bay is good, i've never had an issue with anyone. But when I went to buy this baby onesie, the cashier rang it up and said total would be $15.30, i pointed out the sticker that says $9.99 and he said "that's a lie" so we paid the $15.30, im not going to argue over $5, but really if you're going to hire and let teenagers run a register by themselves, they need to know how and know how to talk to customers. I should preface this review by saying that I am terrible at golf...any sport with a ball, to be honest. However, we still had a great time on our morning day date. Many say Top Golf is pricy but check their coupons on the website because they have some great deals. We used their weekday unlimited golf before noon coupon (pay per person instead of per hour) and it was a good price...especially for novices like us (to put it kindly). The facility is new, modern, and even larger inside than we anticipated. There is a huge eating area with big screens and a bar. There is also a merch area with some really cute items for sale. After checking in at the front desk, you are assigned a bay. There are two stories and we were given a bay on the first floor. As a non-golfer, I have no idea if 2nd floor makes a difference with skill accrual. Each bay had seating for four people, men and women's clubs, and holders if you want to bring your own clubs/bag. We were impressed with the screen and ball-release technology and the air/heat controls for each individual section. The staff was friendly and helpful, especially Sydney who was the server at our bay. She walked us through everything with humor and patience and stopped over to check on us just the right amount of times. She recommended the Jewels game for beginners, which ended up being our favorite. We didn't try the food, but definitely would next time. Three of us walked in and were told there would be a 15 minute wait. After a couple beers and 30 minutes we approached the reservation counter to see how much longer. We were told at least another 45 more minutes because a large group of "platinum" members came in right behind us. They had no intention of notifying us our 15 minute wait had turned to 75 minutes. This topgolf location was the worst! Our group join the queue at 4:30 and when we went up to the desk around 5:30, the cashier said it would be around an hour. We waited until about 7 o'clock and ordered food in between going up to the desk when we got back up there, he said we would have to wait another hour. We thought that was ridiculous so we left. The food was a whole different story because we ordered nachos and they took over 30 minutes to come out and by the time they came out, they were very stale. This was not a good experience and we were really disappointed because our group was super excited to golf and we had to go home. read more

First time, my husband & I went to a Topgolf was in Nashville, TN and we longed to go again. Now, we can at Topgolf Knoxville. If you haven't golf or you're a pro, this is a place for you. There's different rounds you can choose from and each package varies at different price points. For example, for 1-hour = $75. Little pricey, but it's a great spot to hang out with friends or even a date night with yourself! Treat yo self! There's also full bar and food that keeps your energy going! The food and drinks are pretty good, and the bartenders are so friendly and laid back! They always suggest great recommendations to his or her liking. I asked them for a fruity/sweet drink and they made me liquid marijuana (it's not what you think) but it was so good! My usual is a piña colada, unfortunately they didn't have ingredients to make it, but I'm not picky, I enjoyed the drink they made for me. Full bar, energy drinks + seltzers if you're into that! One of the days, we went was a Wednesday and it wasn't crowded (obviously it's a week day). This is the part where they don't get enough stars... However, another time we went last Saturday and it was BUSY. Make sure you download the "Topgolf" app and make prior reservations, otherwise, you'll be waiting for hours. We went in at 1pm, they told us it'll be an 1-hour wait, we waited. Then, at 2pm, they said it'll be 3 hours. There's not much we can do aside from eat and drink if we're just waiting around. So, we told them that we'll go finish our errands and come back. Finished and had quick lunch, I called them and the girl said, "I'm not able to look into that. You'll have to come to the location and ask them." -- This made me Are you kidding me? They made us wait 4 hours and can't even tell us how much longer our wait is without us driving all the way back to Topgolf. We drove back to Topgolf, and we played for 1 hour ($75) and wanted us to go..heck no. We waited for 4 HOURS for an 1 hour play. We told our waitress that we waited and it's unfair. So she spoke with management, she extended our time. We played for about 4 hours and left. I'm glad there's a Topgolf closer to us & we can't wait to go back again, but Topgolf, if you're ready this, please make it convenient on customers by letting your associates access when people are waiting while they get their things done! Food was great! And came out quickly and correct. We had both flatbreads, burgers, wraps, chicken tacos, steak tacos and the queso. The queso is by far the best I have had in a really long time. The burgers, pepperoni flatbread and tacos received high praise. The top golf sangria was a little sweet. The drinks (even bottled beer) took FOREVER!! I am going to say probably newish gitters. We went out for a birthday dinner for our friends. The time there was amazing. We had a COUPLE alcoholic drinks and stayed for about 3hrs. After finishing our time we went outside to take pictures and sat in our car. We sat in the car for about 1hr just talking and watching videos on our phone when all of a sudden the security guard walked right out when my fiancé came from the bathroom. He stayed outside watching us, for over an hour he walked around the parking lot staring and taking pictures of us. Soon enough police surrounded our car. Six cops informed us that he called because we were "drinking " in the car. There was absolutely no sign of drinks in the car besides plastic water bottles. I was new coming into this establishment with my family of six renting out one bay for two hours. I had to reserve a bay ahead of time, it didn't give me an option to which bay or level I wanted to play on, online because the app wasn't working. Once I arrived, fifteen minutes early, I went to the desk on the right as we walked in. I told them my name and that this was my first time in here and I don't know what to expect or where I'm going or how this all goes. The employee told me that it would be on my text message on which bay we were to go to. Luckily, I had my phone on me because I don't carry my phone with me all the time. I got the text and it told me my bay number on the lower level, which is not what we wanted. We wanted the upper bay, they do have elevators for disabled people for the second floor. We went to our bay on the lower level and was immediately greeted by our waitress who took our drink order. It was cold and I read they had heaters, I wanted and needed heat and couldn't see where to turn it on..a gentleman seen us looking for the switch or something and he came over and turned it on for us on the post just left of the screen, it adjusts to medium or high heat. It heats up the whole couch on high, it's great! Ordered some pretzel bites with cheese-delicious cheese!!! Macaroni bites-delicious..buttermilk chicken sandwich- very good. Boneless chicken wings-spicy and pretty good. Tator tots- good. Food here is good. On to the games- this is where it gets confusing and why I ranked it the way I did. First off, you have to stand there and add everyone's name, phone number and email address. No. I don't want my number or my email address given out. Why is it they want your number and email? Why is it we are forced to give them this info? Then you have to choose a game. Nothing was explained to us about what the games were etc. Very aggravated at this stage of it. Where are the balls????? I feel like I'm playing clue here. The guy next to us showed us where to wave your golf club and the ball comes out, I would have never found it if it wasn't for this guy.... We chose a game where we played for best score wins. We found out after everyone took a shot that it was all on the first players card. Ughhh. Started a new game. Then we figured out you have to click your name after each player does a shot. NOOOOOo. That's not it either. Started a new game....this went on for about four supposed games. We finally figured out, we think, you have to shoot three balls at a time before switching players!? The waitress was not any help in this either, they weren't trained on the games. This is so frustrating. I was not happy at this point. I was watching other players and they were playing angry birds. We finally switched it over to angry birds. Ahh ok. The screen finally tells us when to switch players. Yes. Finally. We are starting to have some fun with this after wasting forty five minutes trying to figure things out. If it's your first time doing this your going to waste time trying to figure this stuff out. They really need someone to show the people how each game is done and train their employees the games, isn't that why we are there? To play...right? Highly suggest you get there at least a half hour early before your time to walk around and take it all in, if not sooner. I also highly recommend top golf to hire someone to show the players/customers how to get started to save them time and frustration and get settled in because it takes a lot of time out of the game, we're not playing clue here. Top Golf has to come up with a way to be able to pick the level you'd like to play on-its hard to see what your aiming at on the bottom level. read more

I am not a golfer, but you don't have to be to come here. They have a lot of different games you can play so it's not just hitting the ball as far as you can. The staff are pretty helpful and nice. The front desk person was very patient with us when we were asking how it all works. We showed up with a pretty large group and our server was very good about how we were trying to split up the bill. The food is nothing particularly special. I've tried the Buffalo dip (which I don't recommend) and a chicken margherita flatbread. The flatbread is loaded up with chicken, overall it's ok. The mix drinks are on the sweeter side, but I personally don't mind that. Overall, we had a good time. We will likely see ourselves coming back. read more

You guys - I don't even golf and this place is SO FUN. And our Top Golf Knoxville is all shiny and new, and the servers are friendly and enthusiastic (and haven't been worn down yet but the endless stream of crowds that will undoubtedly darken the doors of this establishment from dawn until dusk from now until the second coming) so NOW is the time to go....that is, if you can get in. A reservation is a MUST here - don't think you're gonna casually coast in and grab a spot. We had a party of 12 on a Tuesday night and the best slot we could get was 8:00 pm. ON A TUESDAY. And this place is on the opposite side of town from where I live, but I'm telling you the good time was worth the drive and some missed sleep on a school night. For a bar, the eat options are ok. Nothing is all that awesome, BUT YOU ARE NOT THERE TO EAT YOU ARE THERE TO GOLF! Full bar of course, a bit on the high dollar side, but that's the price of entertainment people. Our server took great care of us, especially since half of our group was 15 year old boys guzzling sweet teas. We were there to celebrate birthdays, and you can even request that the staff sing a boisterous rendition of Happy Birthday accompanied by a sweet treat. Fun! read more

Service was almost non existent. Our attendant had one bay. And only one table had people. Our table. It took at least 5 min for our attendant to come. He took our drink order. Another 10 min. By this time the rest of our party showed. It was another 10 minutes before he came back to take their drink order. So we ordered our food while he did that since it was obvious it would take awhile in between table checks. He literally would come out every 15-20 min. With a 2 hour minimum bay reservation, this is unacceptable. The appetizer came out at the same time as the food. The breakfast scrambler skillet had old, cold tots and the egg on top was lukewarm at best. The sandwiches that the rest of the table ordered seemed to be pretty hot. We ordered donut holes. 25 min later they came out. Luke warm again. I know it was the server because other bays next to us had their server coming every 5 minutes or so. So frustrating considering how expensive top golf is to begin with to get crappy service and mediocre food. At one point a manager stopped by walking by at the same time "how's everything going over here." Not stopping as he is talking. I say "it's pretty slow." He kept walking. This isn't the first time I have had slow service at top golf. My company has had a couple of "events" and during these visits, it seems to be much better. This place was so much fun! My husband and I went down to get some practice in. I am a new golfer. We had lunch, and then drinks as we played. My only complaint about our visit was I barely got any ice in any of my drinks. I was constantly asking for glasses of ice so I could add the icing to my drinks. Perhaps it's worth a night or two a year just for the novelty, but it is what it is. Very reminiscent of going to a ball game, which is to say that they get you in the door with the golf and then charge you captive audience prices for mediocre product. If you're going to visit, I'd recommend playing at a time when rental of the bay is at a discount, eat before you go, and then maybe have a beer or two while you hit. read more

This is our second time at Top Golf Knoxville. First time was pretty good , though we did have to wait over an hour for a bay. This time we went to celebrate our sons 10th birthday and the experience was one I do not want to experience again. First off our server started off ok, but then we never saw her and every time she did come by she seemed inconvenienced to have to serve us. Constantly saying "will that be all" like wrap it up here even though we had booked for a 2 hour time slot. Then comes the bill. For some reason we had 2 checks . One for the two bays and then one for players and all our food drinks. The total was around $350 ( plus what I had paid to reserve $130) I had told our server I was a teacher (10% off) but that was not taken off on bill. I got a manager to "fix it" but I am not sure if it was. I have about 38 receipts now and have to check to see what my credit card was charged Like most other reviews have mentioned, all they want is your $. If I am spending upwards of $300 + , I hope the experience is one I want to have again. This last visit left a bad taste in my mouth After this last visit I am not sure I want to go back. The golf is so fun, don't get me wrong but reserving bays is a major pain. They take a deposit ( supposedly half the cost of the bay .. but I was charged $10 more ‍) Then you have no way to request upper or lower deck for play. If you "walk in " you will likely have a decent wait and no way can you requests bays next o each other if renting more than one. The idea awesome, and it is a fun place. Just not executed well. I have always wanted to try a Topgolf when living in San Diego and Dallas, so when I found out this one was open I was excited! My SO and I had a weeknight date night here on a Wednesday and we really enjoyed ourselves! We got a couple of drinks which were good, we didn't get food so I can't vouch for the food part yet! The games were fun, the staff were all pleasant and friendly! The place was well taken care of as far as cleanliness etc. The only reason why I give it 4 stars and not 5 is because it was our first time there and we told the staff and waiter we needed help setting it up and a couple questions and they all said "I'm not sure or I don't know" these were what seemed like pretty basic questions, we just thought they would be able to get us up and hitting some balls easily, so there definitely was some confusion when we first got there, but once we got set up and understood how it worked the games were all fun etc. The other thing that kind of bothered me was to add even just one extra player they want all your info like phone number and email and I didn't want to give all of that out...and I guess every player has to. Not only that but they charge $5 per player which was not mentioned to us prior? Also, I know that this is not this particular Topgolf's issue but it really seems like it could be a bit overpriced for what it actually is! We were there for just 2 hrs, got two drinks and it was not a cheap date. I couldn't imagine getting food...adding more time or another drink etc...it would easily turn into an over $200 bill for two people. Easily.
