I reluctantly made another trip to Main Event. After multiple bad experiences during previous visits, including busing and waiting my own table, I chalked it up to weekend business and gave them the benefit of the doubt. But i am surprised to see that the level of service was the exact same if not worse on a weeknight. Let me start with the check in desk. After standing behind the wait here point for 5 min waiting to be helped by the 3 people dancing and talking amongst themselves ,including what looked like a manager of some sort, i stepped pass the line to a employee who told me that the person to his right could help me. We shortly left the counter after check in to sit in the bar area for our 30 min wait for bowling. My group was planning on having some appetizers or a couple alcoholic beverages as we waited for a waiter to no avail in a valley of empty tables. I finally decided to return to my normal role as self waiter for our group. I should really be on the payroll by now. After a 30 min wait we headed off to our bowling lane. It was perfectly decorated with food on the floor. It looked like a partially eaten pretzel. Yum! Again we were not greeted or approached by any of the waitstaff in the bowling area. I continued taking drink orders for my group for the rest of the evening. Every time I leave I am so disappointed because this place has so much potential. The bowling lanes are the nicest in the north okc area. And the place has a great vibe and tons of ways to have fun. But it is all squandered by apathetic, untrained, and poorly managed staff. The level of customer service is dismal at best and for the price you pay it is unacceptable. Our group could have easily ordered 100s of dollars more worth of food or drinks if we had only been helped or greeted with average service. I wont be going back and I believe my opinion was shared by everyone else in the group. I also wouldn't recommend it to any one else. read more

Pretty nice venue, had a lot of fun bowling. But can't give it a 5 Star. For this place to be as empty as it is and so many employees standing around I expected a lot better customer service. One of the girls at the front desk was pretty rude when asking for help. Definitely will go back to Hey Day or Top Golf. Word to corporate your going to go out of business with scheduling a thousand staff members to stand around and watch people bowl and eat. Guess their not worried about payroll. read more

Took a group of 20 teens and adults to hang out, bowl, arcade, laser tag and high rope! Staff was awesome and paid close attention to us! Very quality place, well staffed and really sets a high bar on quality and fun. Games and atmosphere was perfect for teens! Definitely going back! read more

After waiting in line forever to buy the tickets, we went into the restaurant and waited over 50 minutes for simple dinner food (salad/fish and chips... this was NOT the waitresses fault, they were nice and sweet...) Then my husband waited another 20 minutes trying to get a manager to help him when his card stopped working, but the manager said he can't replace his card, but he did manage to get his money back. We came here to bowl and play some games. We bowled for an hour and not one person on the wait staff came to take an order, despite our attempts to ask for a waiter. The bowling lanes were not even full. Very poor service or shall I say none. We finally went to the bar to get a drink which they were out of what we wanted. Okay, so we ordered some mixed drinks. They were watery and not great. Being a local business owner I understand customer service. If I treated my clients like this I would be out of business. Monday night, took 45 minutes just waiting in line to get game cards, only 1 cashier open with lots of staff milling around. Order 2 pizzas for over $40 and they have no plates, you have to eat it off a napkin and the pizza was so greasy it kept sticking to napkins. NEVER again! I have had pretty good experiences here including private events and hanging out in the bar area. The food is pretty good as well. Most recently I had the Cali chicken sandwich and liked that they used arugula instead of regular lettuce. My issue with Main Event is their check in area when you arrive. It is extremely inefficient. I was here on New Year's Day and it was very busy. The staff didn't seem prepared for this maybe because it was a Monday? The bar area was understaffed starting out for the Rose Bowl game, but thankfully they had more bartenders later on. Not really sure what the deal was, but it made no sense because they have a really good deal on Mondays that makes it a popular day. Maybe also with kids still being out of school this Monday was particularly busy. We waited in line 10-15 minutes to buy the wristband then again when we got our bowling shoes. It's hard to complain too much since the $10.95 deal for unlimited bowling, laser tag, billiards and shuffleboard is a steal. I just wish they were more efficient with their check out system. It seems like families in particular show up and have no idea what to pay for. Maybe this is on the customer more than the staff. Anyhow it is a fun place and this won't prevent me from coming back. read more

Great facility, great games and a full bar...but absolutely HORRIBLE customer service. From the desk clerk who left for her lunch break with 5 people standing in line, to the managers who were too busy checking in bowling shoes to notice those standing in line, and to the Assistant Manager who then greeted me with a head nod and a "What's up?!", the attitude of the staff here is less than cordial. To then be sold out of the morning All You Can Play special (how that can happen is beyond me...it's a bunch of video games!), and to also get shoddy service in the restaurant area leads me to think we should have gone to Dave & Buster's instead. read more

Brilliant concept, and surprisingly affordable in many settings. Like a 2 hour party for 15 for less than $20 each. Do catering for 10, everyone can bowl on the 12 open spots (2 lanes) and there's plenty of food for all. And it's Great Food! Like gourmet tailgate fare. Mike worked with us for a birthday and he was fantastic. The whole staff was, except for a few dawdlers but what do you expect with high school crew? The managers are on it. A+ experience! read more

Can't say I enjoyed myself. Wanted the food and play for me and the kids. Was directed to go to the dinning area, that was frustrating and disappointing in itself. Waited 20mins for someone to acknowledge us. When we finally got service it was like another 20 min wait for dirty drinking glasses had to wait once again for them to even bring us a cool beverage before I just said I've wasted 40min- hour of my time just waiting. We had previously had a less than stellar experience here. We left a review through Main Events own review system and we were very quickly contacted by their general manager, Mark. He offered my husband, myself and our couple friend an hour of free bowling and shoes. When we came in to bowl with our friends we were met with welcoming and warm employees. Our server, Morgan, took amazing care of us and the entire staff was great. Not only did this establishment take a bad experience and make it a good one, they went above and beyond and made it a great one. Thank you to the managers, Matt and Vance, who were on that night. We really appreciate the recovery and will be back often as bowling is one of our favorite date nights. read more

LAZY WORKERS. But great prices & food portions. I went to Main Event yesterday and really paid attention to how their staff operated. They are very very L.A.Z.Y and RUDE. I was there from 1-3:30. I played a round of laser tag, the young girl gave it to us for free (not complaining but something didn't seem right) Game started at 1:30, the women was rude towards us when saying the rules, while we were playing, "Marshal" was sitting down, hiding & playing on her phone. She didn't even know a kids laser pack wasn't working properly because he was a different color than the rest & she was too busy on her phone so the kid just walked around for the whole game. The only guy that was nice was the guy working the front when I asked for more money on my card & he had a great attitude! Great place to hang out for a few hours. read more

My first time with my kids and waited in line for 15 mins just to be told I had to wait at the bar to put in an order for food. I get to the bar and a worker who looks like a manager or supervisor but no tag doesnt even care to acknowledge me and my kids standing there waiting to be acknowledged. I can't even get a drink without waiting at least 15 mins. I am a very patient person when it comes to eating out but this is just bad hospitality. The bowling was fun. The bartenders were horrible. They did not know how to make basic drinks. They obviously had not been trained very well.one of them ignored my friend all together. When the bartender asked for bottle of rumplemints the manager kristine ignored her while she drank her smoothie. The bartender asked a second time she was still ignored. Finally when a friend of mine asked for it, we were told by the bar manager kristine we were being told we were rude. Then we were cut off when none of us were even intoxicated. Finally one of our party had to go talk to the main manager so we could continue drinking. This was all around horrible service. I have loved this location ever since they built it. This is located right around the corner from my house so the convenience factor is definitely one of the main things that drives my rating. My kids and my wife come here all the time and we usually put our sons in the summer camp when school is out. We love the games but I think the biggest driver for this place is the bowling alley and the bungee climbing. Today my family went to Main Event for the first time. We usually go to HeyDay in Norman, but because our family was visiting and staying on the Northside of town, we decided to try out Main Event. The facility it great, the games all worked in perfect condition, it was clean and the upkeep was apparent. The prices were good, we got a deal for it being memorial day weekend, (unlimited Bowling, Billiards, Rope Course and Laser Tag, 18.95 per person). Laser tag was fun and cool for even the adults, the ropes course was great for the little ones and bowling was really fun for all of us. So, you're probably wondering why after all of that, I gave this place a 2 star review. It's simple. The place has some of the worst customer service ever experienced. From the top management to the waiters serving guest the bowling. Between all of the people in our party, we spent almost 200 dollars alone just buying our passes to do activities. You would think the service would be a little better than being ignored on multiple occasions by the serving staff when bowling. Every one was planning on ordering food/drinks while bowling but we were ignored through both of our games. We even went as far as to page a waiter on our intercom and the person we called said they would call a waiter, but they never came. To me it just seems like an easy way to make more money while people are bowling but it's obviously just as easy not to make any money if you don't help the guests. A couple of us were so hungry we went an ordered a slice of pizza at their pizza bar to hold us over, she was very friendly, but she pulled our pizza slices out and put them on our plates with her bare hands. A little unappetizing to say the least. We never did ever hear from a waiter so we saved our money until we went elsewhere. It's a pretty ridiculous way to treat customers that have spent so much money already to be there for the day. If the management/staff could change the way they act towards people and learn how to treat customers properly, I would consider re-doing this review. Horribly over priced! I just took 6 girls and spent $104 for them to play laser tag (1 time) and the ropes course (again 1 time). Each event is 15 minutes. So I just paid $104 for 30 minutes! Could have went to frontier city for $175 and spent all day there. I won't make this mistake again. Also it's football season in the middle of OU country and they are not showing the game, and I even asked them too. All the tv's on Crappy games! No where you are located Main Event! The entire family is having a blast! The kids are enjoying the arcade, gravity ropes, laser tag and bowling. The adults are loving the bowling and the full bar!! Very clean and the staff is incredibly helpful. This was our first time and they explained everything to us. We were able to bring our birthday cake in with us. Jacob was an awesome server, he kept our glasses full and was always close by when we needed him. Will definitely be coming back! read more

Main Event is a decent spot to kill time on a random day but I wouldn't go out of my way to plan a trip there. There's a variety of arcade games, a few bowling lanes (which have terrible food service), laser tag, and some pool tables. They have a full bar and a pizza place. The bartender was nice but the drinks were overpriced, not uncommon these days. My main complaint is that when I purchased a certain kind of game pass the worker failed to tell me that I would not earn any tickets. So when I went into the store to redeem the tickets for a prize and they told me I didn't have any I was fairly upset. Overall, I would probably only recommend Main Event for adults with children or kids parties. read more

So fun! I came her during New Year's week w/ some friends. HUGE place w/ plenty to do. Pool tables, bowling, ropes course, and games. I love arcades now that you don't have to use tokens (that's just asking for money loss!). You load a card w/ money, play games, then use the tickets collected to buy things in their shop. They do have a bar inside, but they're slightly on a the slower side. My group had to wait a little to get a few drinks. Stop by and hang out if you have some time to kill! read more

Disclaimer: This review is long so here is the short synopsis: The staff is generally rude, apathetic, and hesitant to engage customers. A sense of customer disdain permeated the entire atmosphere and we constantly felt as though we were an annoyance to the staff, simply by being there. If you would like details and justification then by all means, read further. Review: This review focuses on customer service and the operational systems in place at Main Event. I did not try the food so I cannot comment on that aspect. Customer Service: The employees fit into 4 distinct categories, with some crossover: 1) Rude 2) Apathetic 3) Inept and 4) Hardworking, yet inept (This 4th category is a management and training issue, not the employee's fault, but we will get to that later). Our experience began at the restaurant/bar area. Their I.D. policy is very strict mind you (which is fine by me, as the penalties for serving under age people are extremely severe), however, a bit of tact and respect should be employed when I.D.ing customers. Then, AS I WAS SITTING DOWN, the bartender peeked his head up and insisted: "you better have ID or I won't serve you". Really? A bit later a woman, obviously in her 60s or 70s, came to help her friend carry drinks from the bar to their table and the bartender insisted on seeing her I.D. She did not have one and he abruptly asked her to put the drinks back down and informed her that someone else from her party with proper ID would have to come and help. The staff is generally rude, apathetic, and hesitant to engage customers. When we were finally able to get the staff's attention they were abrupt and very unhelpful. A simple inquiry into the game card purchase process prompted a "you gotta stand in that line over there... they'll tell you how it works". After 15 minutes in line, we finally spoke to someone who, very abruptly and discourteously, informed us we could have simply gone to an automated kiosk (which were well hidden and not at all delineated by signage) to purchase gameplay cards. Summarily, a sense of customer disdain permeated the entire atmosphere and we constantly felt as though we were an annoyance to the staff, simply by being there. Operational Systems: The staff issues all boil down to a management and coaching issue, obviously. The company either does not engage in customer service oriented training curriculum or does not implement it properly. I have served as a restaurant GM for an extended period of my career and can say that, from my experience, these team members were not trained, coached, or encouraged in a customer centric environment. It seems to me that the business is built first around the IDEA of a utopian indoor entertainment mecca and THEN the 'systems' (if you want to call them that) and the employees are an afterthought just crammed into the model idea. This is a large place with numerous game and food/beverage areas. There is a severe lack of customer direction and the layout is extremely unintuitive in regards to directing the customer as to where to go to purchase a certain type of gameplay ticket. Communication between areas (e.g. bar servers don't know how to instruct customers to purchase game cards or where to get laser tag tickets) and lack of employee training significantly impact the customer experience. The ticket system is also significantly flawed. Physical tickets don't exist, which I appreciate from both a business efficiency and customer experience perspective, however, the tickets are just put on your card but there is no way to get your balance without standing in line at the prize shop and asking the clerk to scan your card. In order to check my balance I went to the other, shorter, line on the outside of the prize shop (incorrectly assuming the line inside the shop was just for people cashing in their tickets) and the clerk rolled his eyes, turned to another computer behind him and swiped my card. He turned back to me and said, very rudely, "next time go to the other line to check your tickets... I don't do that here". I then proceeded into the shop and wanted to get numerous small items to give my nieces and nephews but soon realized I couldn't carry them all. I asked the clerk for a bag or basket of some sort but was informed that they "don't have anything like that" and they wouldn't even give me a plastic bag. I used my sweatshirt as a "bag" and then stood in line again. After finally "checking out" the clerk put all of my items into a small plastic bag for me with the words "Thank You" printed prominently on the outside. I took the irony in stride and swiftly exited the building, hopefully to never return again.
