I really enjoy the atmosphere of Main Event, but I think they are overwhelmingly understaffed. I came to a friend's 30th there and he had booked three lanes, a buffet, etc from 8-10 for roughly 17 people. We just could never find anyone to take our drinks. Even when we did flag someone down, nothing happened. Talked to a guy with a headset about it and he mumbled something into it but, again, nothing happened. So a group of us decided to go to the bar to order instead. Waited 20 min. There were only two bartenders. They kept serving people who arrived after us and basically ignored an entire side of the bar. They need to staff more people to run the bowling area and more bartenders. Otherwise, the pizza, salad, and atmosphere was good. read more

I know going out on a Saturday night would be busy but last night was bananas! My party of 6 walked in and wet greeted with a line after standing in it for five minutes I finally asked what it was for the the guy said bowling. I thought it was for temperature check s. My husband talked to the near by door attendant and ask him how to get a table to eat we were let know it was open seating. After cleaning off our own table a bus boy came and s sanitized the closed table next to ours we the asked him to clean ours. While eating more ppl came in and some random adult left their baby on the closed table behind us and just left to play pool. After a yelling match-with another guest the mom came back with friends and sat at the closed table. The only positive thing was our meal was pretty good came out hot and the were super low on dining staff our server was over worked but she was very pleasant. Okay that was lame but for real, the food ranges from :shrug: to "pbbbtt". Plus, they're surprisingly expensive for what you get. I can lump the foods I've tried into one of two categories: 1. "That wasn't terrible, but how much did you say you paid for it?" Fried Calamari ($11.95). Onion Rings ($7.95). Hummus & Vegetables ($9.95). BBQ Chicken Pizza ($18.95). Buffalo Chicken Pizza ($18.95). Loaded Nachos ($10.95). 2. "...I bet you this is punishment for me being crappy to that one person years ago." BBQ Brisket and Cheddar ($9.95). Chicken Tenders ($12.95). In terms of service, Main Event is strangely predictable. It's almost guaranteed that you'll get a server that'll check up on you repeatedly before you know what to order, and then gradually check on you less and less. It gets to the point where they stop checking all together after you get your food. I don't know why but it has happened every time I've visited. The employees working at the front have consistently been pretty helpful and friendly, though. Basically, don't make dinner plans at Main Event. There are clusters of restaurants within a 2-mile radius that will satisfy your cravings, all while tasting better and being easier on your wallet. The "Bowl" and "Play" parts are what makes Main Event so appealing. Both are kind of overpriced but will probably net you a good time all around. The bowling lanes are plenty, the arcade machines have good variety, and the pool tables aren't usually booked for long. All three are recommended for groups or date nights. Every other available activity was kind of forgettable. Overall, there are other better bowling alleys and arcades, but the combination of both at Main Event makes it recommendable enough. If you're craving any genre of food, do yourself a favor and finish playing your games and then go and eat somewhere (anywhere, really) down Memorial. read more

For my daughter's Birthday there was almost no organization or clear guidance on the activities as they were occurring, and because of this most of the children missed out on 2 out of our 3 our activities. 3 or 4 children 'made it on time' to laser tag and ropes. But I was charged for 13. Our party host leader couldn't have been kinder and was working as hard as anyone possibly could but simply could not keep up with amount of kids. What was most frustrating about this is that while Mina (our host) was running her tail off, there were no less than six employees for nearly an hour standing around the drink fountain just laughing and talking with each other. Two of which were horse playing and not one of them offered to help Mina or us with the party. I expressed this twice to Mina and another server but there seemed to be nothing they could do about it. I was able to go into the front office and get free laser tag coupons from Jacob after most of the girls had missed out. But, at that point it was already too late to salvage the party. I spent the rest of the afternoon wrangling kids, passing the coupons out and apologizing to parents of crying 7 year old girls who 'arrived too late' to participate in the activities. Our food was late and cold. No one received a drink until an hour into the party. We spent $400 (not exaggerating) $399 and some change for this experience. Hoping for a partial refund. read more

The games were fun and we didn't spend way too much on them. The reason I have only given two stars is for the customer service and the environment. While we were purchasing our bowling shoes, the lady that helped us was extremely rude and impatient with us. Also, when we were getting socks, a man who looked like a manager was very rude in the way he was talking to me. Nobody ever came to check on us or ask us if we needed anything. For the environment, everything *seems* very kid-friendly. While we were bowling, there were videos where people were not dressed and dancing very provocatively. It's weird but I like this place. I was really skeptical at first, but after a while I learned to appreciate it. This place is huge! And it has so much stuff to do....and not just for kids, but adults too. Be ready to spend some money though, because the games aren't cheap. For kids there's laser tag, video games, arcade games.... Too much fun. You can set them loose with a fun card and not worry. For the adults, you have two things: bowling and a bar. Who ever thought of this is a genius because I saw too many parents throw their kids money while they hung out at the bar. Food: Full service restaurant with decent food. Better than bar food with more selection. Not too bad actually. The bar was pretty awesome for a supposedly kids venue. Full service and very generous pours. The beers were close to 20 oz. Service was outstanding. They have plenty of staff throughout the place and they're all working hard. We were there on a Saturday evening so they were maxed out. Definitely recommend Main Event for a party or special occasion. It's pricey though, so I can't see it as an economical alternative to bird watching. Went here last night for a friends birthday. This was the first time I have ever been to a Main Event, so I did not know what to expect. We got a table right by the bar to celebrate her birthday. The waiter was nice but seemed either distracted or lost at times. But I will get to that in a moment. We all ordered our drinks and the first round got there very quickly, then we ordered our food. Not even 10 minutes later the food started coming out. There was 11 of us so I was impressed... they gave the first 3 people their food then left to what I had assumed was to grab the rest...5 minutes goes by and they delivered 2 more plates....then another 5 minutes and they finally delivered the rest of the food. I was not okay with this. But I blew it off cause they were getting pretty busy with a bus of like 50 kids that previously came in the door. My friends brother and girlfriend ordered another round of beers from a different server that delivered their food. He said he would put in the order right away. 5 minutes later our waiter came back and asked who needed to order drinks. We told him that they already put in their drink order and he said that the guy only told him that he needed to take a drink order. So they finally get their drinks. Then my boyfriend and I orders a couple more drinks..making sure to order from our waiter. 5 minutes later...nothing..10 minutes later nothing. So my boyfriend goes up to the bar asking him about our beers, thinking that maybe he got busy and forgot to put the order in. Our waiter states "Oh, I thought you guys already came up here and got them."......ummmmm why the heck would we do that?? You can see how this is going by now... So then a girl that was at the same party as us went up to the bar to ask for a drink because of the lack of getting our drinks being served to us at our table and the bartender stated "Go back to your table and your waiter will get your order." Excuse me? But luckily for the bartender the girl was friendly and did as she was told. The food was pretty good and they have a variety of options to try. We all shared 2 orders of the Tex Mex Dip Trip. The queso and salsa was good as well as the chips. I got the boneless buffalo wings because I was not too hungry and they were decent. Mild sauce but a little dry. My boyfriend got a southwest burger. It was HUGE and messy. He ended up having to eat it with a fork which he did not like but he said it tasted good. The others got beer battered fish and chip which looked like your average fish and chips, Italian meatball sliders which looked AWESOME and they said they were really good, Strawberry Field salad...ohh it looked so yummy. Pepperoni pizza...meh...pepperoni pizza is pepperoni pizza and I will always love it. Italian pesto pizza looked pretty bomb and then BBQ chicken pizza looked like heaven. As we are finishing eating we decided that we wanted to bowl. We see that the list is getting big so her brother decided to go put us on the list. It was about 9pm at this point. The lady at the desk states that it is an hour and a half wait and that we had to pay up front to bowl..........I'm sorry say what? I grew up with this guy so I can only imagine his facial express when she said that. He wasn't having that. He talked to the manager and go our name on the list without having to pay until we actually got a lane. It was about 10 or later when we got our lane. The waitress was really nice and the bowling was fun...too dang expensive but it was fun. Good music. Other than the service from the bar/dining area everything was good. I was a little hesitant to come here after reading some of the reviews, but I'm glad I did! Granted, it was a Tuesday night, so I probably had a much more enjoyable experience as compared to a packed weekend. My husband and I went for bowling and a bit of game play. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with smiles and helpful assistance. I feel bad that others have experienced rudeness, but that was definitely not the case for us (which was nice since we were there to celebrate my birthday and the last thing I wanted was anything bad). We paid, got our shoes, were escorted to our lane, and the gentleman demonstrated how to work the score board. That board, by the way, is pretty cool. Aside from adding your name, you can personalize it with your picture, and choose a theme. Our server was prompt and also very friendly, which was great. Even the seating area was wonderful - comfortable and cushioned! We experienced only one mishap in that our bowling balls got stuck. They quickly took care of it, and offered to give us additional minutes to our time, which we didn't really worry about since it only took 3-5 minutes to fix. Yes, the bowling time is strict. An hour is an hour, and there is a timer on the board. Since it was just me and my husband, this was no big deal, as we were able to get in about three games. For larger parties, this will definitely become an issue. What I found to be rather over the top was the price: about $40 for an hour of bowling. Yikes. The video game area is fun, although money on your game card can quickly deplete, with what seems to be an average of $1.50/game (more for others). I can't comment on the actual food since we ate before arriving, but the cost for drinks wasn't bad. It was about $6 for a Pepsi and a tall glass of amaretto sour. They have several bowling lanes, laser tag, an indoor ropes course, tons of arcade games, two party rooms, Eyeplay, pool, an extensive menu, and a pizza place. You definitely wouldn't need to eat somewhere before coming in; they've got all kinds of choices (food and drink) at great prices. I only had a bite of the pretzel, but it was pretty tasty. Everything wasn't crammed in to a small area, which was great. I don't like dealing with crowds. The parking lot was packed, but I didn't have a hard time maneuvering through the different areas. This would definitely be a fun date location. The Eyeplay on the floor was fun. It's a projector that has games that interact with your shadow. The prices for bowling and lazer tag were competitive, but what you would expect from a place like this. read more

Went to the Main Event last night for the second time and had a good time, but there are definitely some things they need to work on. First visit: sat at the bar and ordered drinks. We already had other dinner plans, but ordered the soft pretzel as an appetizer. It was enormous! The taste and texture were perfect though and the cheese dipping sauce added some great flavor. Took the majority of the pretzel home and snacked on it another couple of days. Yum! As far as entertainment, we played some of the various arcade games. They have a nice mix of games for kids and adults and the prices vary depending on the game. Overall, it was a fun night out. Second visit: we went on a Monday night and decided to purchase the unlimited game play for $9.95/person. This lets you have unlimited bowling (you do have to pay $3.50/person for shoe rental), laser tag, shuffle board, pool, and use of the ropes course. We opted to bowl since bowling is pretty pricey ($29/hour) the rest of the week. The sitting area for the lanes is really roomy and would accommodate quite a few people. Servers do come by to check on drink refills so that was a nice touch. After a couple of games, we were ready to move on. We played a few arcade games and then decided it was time to eat. We found some seats at the bar, and then we waited, and waited, and waited. They were really busy and only had two bartenders working. They were doing the best they could, but they really needed some help. We gave up at the bar and grabbed a table close to the pool tables and we had seen servers in that area and they seemed more responsive than the bartenders. Again, we waited, and waited, and waited. Finally, my husband suggested finishing our drinks and grabbing dinner elsewhere. Right about that time, our server walked up to take our order so we decided to stay. After getting our food, we both wished we had gone elsewhere for dinner. I ordered the Chicken Cali sandwich. The chicken was a little overcooked, but edible. It was served on their pizza flatbread and it was really dry and thick and took away from the sandwich. I got rid of the bread and just ate the chicken with a knife and fork. It was served with a side of seasoned fries. The fries were tasty, but not very crisp as if they had been sitting under a heat lamp for a while. The best thing on the plate was the pesto mayo, which was served on the sandwich and brought out as a dipping sauce for the fries. Delicious! My husband ordered the sliders and they were good, but nothing to get excited about. The slider buns were thin and toasty and I wish the chicken sandwich had been served on that bread. The sliders were served with a side of homemade potato chips that were super crisp, the perfect thickness and seasoned perfectly. They also went well with the side of pesto mayo. After dinner, we decided to finish up with some shuffle board action. It's a nice shuffle board table, but there was one major component missing....where was the sand? There was very little sand on the table or the surrounding edges. There was a shaker for the table, but it was completely empty. Really?!?!?!? How do you have a shuffle board table with so little sand? Bottom line: go for the unlimited game play on Monday's and the arcade games any night of the week. The beer and wine selection is good and there is a bartender by the name of Lori who is top notch! Never saw Mike again until I hunted him down after waiting another 30 minutes for somebody to come back to our table. He admitted forgetting about us. His excuse was he had a banquet going on. This is the third Wednesday in a row that we've been here for bowling league. The place is really cool looking, & the concept is great! But the service? Not so much. The first night, we ordered from the dining area and it took literally 45 minutes to get our food to us. We got chicken tenders & a burger. I could've made that at home in half the time. This place was NOT busy, so that's not the excuse. We were told that there would be appetizer specials for the bowlers in the bowling area so... We moved to the bowling area. The bowling area is cool, I'll give them that, but that's about it. There were no less than 6 servers walking around, but you had to be a jackass & wave them down to get any attention! We ordered more waters, a fountain drink, and a beer. Fifteen minutes later, our drinks arrived. About an hour later, we decided to share a dessert. We had to be ridiculous & get our server's attention. Again. Twenty minutes later, we got our brownie sundae. It was delicious, but 20 minutes? Come on. Oh, and, we were never told about any specials. When we asked, our server told us there were some but he didn't know what they were. What? Excuse me? Ugh. Next week - same thing. Our server was MIA. The league starts at 7. Server showed up at 10 till. Omg. This guy knew the specials, (miracle!), and brought our drinks out with a quickness. Getting our food to us was another thing. It was 7:45 before we saw our apps of buffalo wings, nachos, and a pretzel. The food was tasty & that pretzel? GINORMOUS! But. We didn't get refills for over another hour. And. Someone spilled something nearby us. My son-in-law stepped in it & nearly slipped. He asked someone to clean it up. They did...About 15 minutes later. The mop left a smell so bad, we thought someone had left some rotten eggs out in the hot sun, brought them in, opened 'em up, poured some vinegar on those things, ate them, then passed gas for days straight. It was that bad. No lie. Which brings me to tonight. We got here early, thirty minutes early to be exact, so we could get some food in our bellies before the league started. We asked two different people four different times to please take our order. After 15 minutes, we gave up & just ordered a pizza. The pizza was huge, and tasted really good. One of the girls that we are bowling with asked about drink specials. One server told her she *thought* it was something to do with Angry Orchard. Another server said that she didn't know, maybe it was Long Island Iced Tea but that the servers aren't told what the specials are. Wha?! How does that even make sense?? This place looks cool. Really. The food is pretty good, but a little expensive. There are lots of things to do, and I give them props for that. We haven't experienced a busy Friday night, but we will this upcoming weekend. I enjoy places like this that provide a lot of fun for the whole family in one location. I like that the bowling is always "cosmic" style no matter the time of day. The food is so-so by restaurant standards but it's far better than typical bowling alley food. Laser tag is a fun course and you can actually see the lasers shoot from the guns. Games are abundant and suit a wide range of interests. This place can get costly quickly, but usually they offer deals such as passes for unlimited bowling/laser tag/billiards/etc. and we like to take advantage of those. If you go earlier in the day on weekends, you'll beat a lot of the crowds. It eventually gets way too crowded for my taste. Plus you get more value from your pass because you don't have to wait or be put on a waitlist. I wouldn't want to be here during the peak crowds, but when it's less busy it's a lot of fun! read more

Took a group of boys for my sons birthday. Loaded over $400 on gaming cards and less than 5 mins several of them had no more credits. The boys said they only played 4 games so I looked at the history. It showed that to be correct but he had swiped it multiple times because the game was delayed to show it accepted the credit. The staff were not helpful and said he needs to not swipe it more than once. We could show that he didn't get to play but it took the credit anyway. It is a great concept and certainly could potentially be a really cool place, but only if you do not go on a Friday or Saturday night. Let me emphasize that. DO NOT GO ON FRIDAY OR SATURDAY NIGHT. You buy a pass so you can do the ropes course, bowl, laser tag, etc and then the wait time is so long that you spend $18 and only get one game of bowling, one round of laser tag and your night is up, even if you have been there for four hours. On the bowling- you get one hour to bowl. If your game isn't over yet, too damn bad. They cut you off and kick you off the lane. Drinks- terrible, horrible drinks. Tasted absolutely horrific and cost a small fortune. Even the bartender admitted the drinks sucked. Service- The waitress could not have had much more of an attitude and she is a trainer. If that bitch is training people then you can only imagine how everyone else is. The management had a major attitude as well, which was completely uncalled for. Their game policies and the way things are done is just ridiculous. The manager admitted to me that he gets yelled at by customers all night, every night. Um, if you're getting that many pissed off customers then shouldn't that be a clue that you guys are not doing something right here?? It might be ok on a Monday night when there might actually be time to do everything there that you paid for on your pass but on a weekend, it is a waste of money because you won't get to do everything. Went to Main Event with a group of co-workers and we met in the bar area and had a few cocktails and then had a bunch of shareables.... I would recommend any of these- they were all very tasty! Showed up to go bowling at 10:10 just to be told that they won't sell us a lane after 10 PM... the establishment closes at 12 AM on Sunday evenings... My group only wanted to bowl for an hour anyway.. people who were already on the lanes played til Midnight... we would have been done before them anyway.. just simply bad business on their part. Disclaimer: long review ahead. I've been going to this Main Event location since it first opened, so almost three years and during that time, I have seen it grow into a place that I personally can go to for non-stop fun. Their prices can be real high. Unless you are aware of their Monday Night Madness special, where you can get an arcade time card lasting from 4-close or their half price games on the weekends from 10-2am, you'll be looking at spending $25-50 in thirty minutes. Admittedly, my arcade addictions are real niche. I'm a big, big fan of rhythm/dance machine games. So, when I first heard they had Pump it Up Fiesta 2, I was nothing but excited. For the past three years, they have kept it well maintained and I have never had much fault with the pads. Because of this, I can literally just go there mondays, buy a time card for 10.95?, drink water all night, and that's all the cash I have to fork out. It's an easy way for me to get exercise and enjoy the atmosphere of medium-large sized crowds for a cheap price. Their food is alright, maybe a little costly, and their drinks are what you'd normally expect, but that isn't why I go there. It's hard to find dance machine games in Oklahoma that are functional and play well, so in that regard, Main Event would get five stars from me. However, this is an all encompassing review. Their staff has always been nice to me, including their management. The only real nitpicky suggestion I may have is that the Pump it Up machine needs to get fully updated in order to unlock all of its content. There are many, many more songs on there that are locked and all it would take is a USB update to fix it. The several times I have mentioned this to them have got me nowhere. All in all, Main Event is a fun place to go to at a cheap price if you know about its deals. read more

The bowling lanes were sticky, the soda was flat, there was no one around to fix lane malfunctions but despite all that we did have fun. Oh yeah the bacon cheese fries were great! read more
