Ordered from main hings website, to which my food was incorrectly delivered to a different address 30 minutes away from my home address. Upon contacting the driver and restaurant, the restaurant printed the incorrect address. To which the restaurant informed me they would make a new order to be delivered. However, the driver went back to the wrong address and redelivered the food that was left outside. I am thoroughly disappointed in main hings inability to make a rightful decision. read more

Ordered through UBER- this place got good reviews. I ordered beef with broccoli- sometimes Chinese restaurants add carrots so in the comments I added "broccoli only." This was not specific enough for the Mensa staff and cook at the restaurant; I received broccoli with rice!!!!!! Do you understand this? It's like ordering a pizza, saying mushrooms only, paying for a pizza, and receiving a cup full of mushrooms. I am livid and all the woman could say was take it up with Uber. read more

Most of the information on this restaurant is outdated so call for information, they no longer have a Buffet. I ordered takeout and have to say that the bone in bbq spare ribs were cooked reheated precut ribs that were way too greasy the meat was tough and dry, there was no way to salvage them. To be fair the staff was friendly the dining area look well attended to and had a clean men's room. Also to be Fair the Fusion menu looked appealing, if I were to return I definitely would avoid the Ribs! read more

Main Hing has been our "go-to" Chinese restaurant for eight years as we now live in Stratford. We've had bad meals and good meals. They delivered through the pandemic and helped make life easier for us. So I'm uncomfortable giving them a review of less than 5 stars. Over the years the chef's have changed hands. Now they have more cooks than they used to have which may account for the inconsistency in the fare. We know this because the "usual" dishes were made differently after being prepared other ways. Their chicken chow mein today is the best I've ever eaten, there or anywhere else. In the past it had under cooked onions, almost non-existent chicken (used to add my own) and was "dry". Today it is wonderful and we order it regularly. Their bar b q spare ribs were meaty, juicy and tasty. Two weeks ago they were burned, super dry and covered with something that tasted like jarred sauce. I threw them out. This week we both ordered a roasted pork dish, which having had many times before is known to us as "delicious"...large, thick cut juicy pork slices, crisply cooked veggies (I got snow peas), good sauce. The order this week was similarly bad for both of us, the pork was not sliced but chopped up and had a LOT of gristle, inedible. If you tried to eat it, the cut pieces (that weren't mouth size but long and stringy) weren't cut all the way through. The pork was over cooked, the vegetables were limp. The sauce was oddly flavored. We threw it all out. Thank goodness the egg drop soup was, as usual, very good. Ironically, the crispy noodles were stale! (BTW, if you order a quart of soup you get ONE package of noodles, but if you order two separate pints you get two packages of noodles.) When I've requested a second package (for the, obviously much larger size of soup container) they charged me an extra 50 cents! This weeks meal tasted like they were getting rid of yesterdays left-over food. The dollar figure for tossed out food so far is nearing 70+ dollars and we must review our decision to order at Main Hing any more. We have not called them this time, which is usually my first step in lodging unhappiness so am feeling badly about writing this but perhaps the person I've spoken with didn't understand. I was bothered enough to wait four days before addressing this in a review on line. In the past, if I had a bad meal (one gets them even in their favorite restaurants every now and again) I'd call. They'd apologize. I didn't ask for a refund or another dish (as I might have were I dining there). And it was never offered! The person I spoke with sometimes got slightly defensive (understandable) but was always polite. Nothing was offered even though they know we eat there 2-3 a month (take out). More important than being offered a refund or replacement is being taken seriously. Listen to your customers, they are your life-blood. Make changes to your cooking staff if you have a new chef who doesn't know what he/she is doing. Stale, overcooked food should not be allowed out the door. We will order from them again, but only the dishes that we know they do well which cuts down the menu to non-spicy foods. They do offer Szechuan spicy foods but it's not their best strength. We also can't order foods that are breaded as they arrive mushy when delivered (from the steam inside the container). If we encounter more inedible dishes we will sadly, have to stop ordering from them. We're grateful for the many decent meals they've cooked but their prices are no longer super reasonable (fair but not inexpensive) and every order for two people nears $60...we no longer can ignore the tossed food. read more

The best place for Chinese food in Bridgeport does NOT deliver. Main Hing is very good and they deliver. Their boneless ribs are tender, their yaki sticks are SO GOOD. I've had better dumplings but other apps are terrific so far. We love every chicken dish we've tried. read more

I expected better. I will say I stopped in on a weeknight during dinner. There was only one other patron and she was literally eating off of the buffet instead of taking her food back to the table. Convient location. I ordered take out. It was ready fast, was kinda cold but tasted fine. Girl on phone and at counter very rude. They messed our order up not giving me my large vegetable lo mein which was my dinner so wtf. They charged my husband an extra $1 for extra bag of noodles for his soup (which was cold) i will not be back. So i lost an $8 dinner and ate some cold soup. This was first time i ordered from this restaurant and i was amazed that every 6 dishes were absolutely delicious. They told me the delivery would be at my home in 30 minutes and they showed up in about 25 minutes. Mom and me were really wanting Chinese and our usual place Osaka Hibachi Buffet has been closed cause of COVID. We got the book they send in the mail with coupons in it and this restaurant was listed. Just know it's not a buffet. It's a usual sit down restaurant. One thing that is confusing is that it's two restaurants in one. When you walk up to it it's DAO FUSION / Main Hing. I said to the host are we in the right place for Sing Hee and she said yes. There are two interesting Japanese like places to sit which is off the main dining room. The tables are close to the ground and you sit on the floor. You have to see it to understand what I'm talking about. But the restaurant itself is kept quite clean and tidy. Mom and I both started with soup. Mom had the chicken rice soup and I had the egg drop. It was good but I think you should get more for the money (this is my only complaint). I ordered the steamed pork dumplings....which were very very tasty. I gobbled'em up. They had fried noodles on the table and their duck sauce is different and very good. I think they have some kind of red pepper in it. VERY GOOD and addictive. For our entrees mom and me, both got combo dishes that come with pork fried rice and egg rolls. Mom had the beef with peppers and onions (what we usually know as pepper steak) and I had the shrimp with lobster sauce. Both combos were very tasty and the quantity you get is perfect. Mom's beef was so tender you could cut it with a fork. And my shrimp tasted very very fresh and the dish itself tasted clean and yummy. From the places, we have in our area...I think this will be our new place for our Chinese...cause you can't beat the portions and quality of Main Hing. The service was good too. We visited last Sunday and were surprised to find that, after all the years we've been dining there, the Main Hing Buffet is apparently circling the drain. Most of the staples with sauces (like General Tso's Chicken and Coconut Shrimp) were down to about a half-pint of actual product, obviously scraped and re-scraped over and over into a dense, sticky lump in the center of each pan. I never really enjoyed the spare ribs or dumplings here and in any case, they looked very unappetizing, so I passed on those. I was relieved to find that the Egg Foo Yong was hot, fresh, and as tasty as I remember. And it was nice to find that the Crab Rangoon was still plentiful and crispy. But to be fair, there's nothing in it but a tiny dollop of cream cheese. There's certainly no hint of crab. Can't keep a buffet restaurant going on good Egg Foo Yong and "No-Crab Rangoon". Most everything else looked dried-out and awful. They do still have the soft serve, for whatever that's worth. What really made me stop and think was when I paid my bill and it took forever for someone to come out of the kitchen and ring me out. Then she wordlessly slapped a few coins into my hand (less than I was owed), spun on her heel and strode briskly back into the kitchen, as if to say, "that's all you're getting". I won't be back, but if you've ever wanted to try eating here, you should probably try to do that sooner rather than later. read more

Man was a feening for a buffet this day! In this area their are pretty much no buffets at all. We traveled about 10 miles to have an all-you-can-eat situation to find out that the buffet was only for lunch and not dinner. Feeling forced we order food. The food was made quickly it was steaming hot and above all The Taste was dynomite. The quality of the food alone made up for not being able to have all the food I wanted to eat period if I have a find myself back in this area and Connecticut I will definitely go back hopefully I'll be able to have the buffet but the portion that you would say suddenly it's definitely not settling. read more

Realized around 10pm I was getting hungry and there was no way I was making dinner tonight. Placed a seamless order at 10:15pm and my food was here at 10:45 by the nicest delivery kid I've ever experienced. None of the rude "outside," grunt or the "where tip?" comment. I would have given them a 5 star until today! I have gone to main hing to eat many time, and we have been ordering takeout from them through grubhub.com for a while now. our food was always very good, and our order would come faster than expected, which was great. and the delivery man was always very friendly. today, however, was not the case. although the man who delivered was friendly as always, when we took our order out, we were VERY disappointed. one of the items we ordered was crab rangoons. and the dough was raw. and the dipping sauce was missing. seeing as that was the only item I ordered in our group, and it was disgusting, I had to eat part of someone else's order. the rice tasted disgusting. the spare ribs had a lot of pieces that were all fat and not edible. and the fried wonton that came in the pu pu platter was chewy and pretty much not edible either. I called to tell them, and the woman on the phone gave me a huge attitude, telling me it was impossible the crab Rangoon dough was as undercooked as it was. I said well im looking at it, its gross. she gave me an attitude that told me she really just didn't care at all. I didn't even have a chance to tell her the rest of our order was not up to their usual standards. very disappointing, we will not be ordering again due to our experience today. Buffet could be bigger, but they usually change the items around once in a while for regular customers. Will never eat there again. We used to go all the time for the buffet. They don't have it anymore. They said they will be but only for lunch during the week. We decided to stay and sit and have something. It was horrible. We weren't even sure if it was chicken. We had General's and Orange chicken. Not spicy at all even though you could see pepper flakes. Some pieces were fatty but when we cut ours open it didn't look like chicken. We got it to go and threw it away when we got home. It was horrible. Too bad. Smallish selection for the buffet, compared to most large buffet restaurants. But plenty of food, and very tasty!

Our GPS led us to this place when the traffic on I-95 was at a stand-still. We were planning on driving up to Foxwoods, but gave up around Bridgeport, CT. The restaurant is not big, and only had a single island of food. But the food was good and the prices were very reasonable. The waitress was very nice and came by often to clean our table. My kids really enjoyed the food, and the final bill came out to be less than what I would have paid at McD's. Next time we're in the Bridgeport area or making our way up to Foxwoods, we'll definitely make it a point to stop by and have lunch here. read more
