I saw a review being done on this Chinese restaurant, and someone said it was the best Chinese food in Bridgeport, Connecticut. My daughter and I checked the establishment out to see what it was hitting on. My daughter and I both had the Boneless Spare Ribs, and I ordered a side of Chicken Wings. The order came out in about twenty minutes. As I pulled the chicken out of the bag, I noticed hair still on the Chicken, meaning the Chicken Wings were not cleaned well. I tried half of the wing with no hair, and it was missing seasoning and flavor. The chicken wasn't that appealing, and that's all I had of the chicken because of the hair on the chicken. Also, the same was with the Boneless Spare Ribs. Lacking flavor, and it just needed some more cooking love for the rice. The rice was bland and could have used more sauce and cooking love. Went there today and called in my order on the way. They didn't give me my entire order which made for problems when I got home because now not everyone can eat and my family is very upset. I was also given the food in a filthy paper bag that had something wet and crusty all over it. The girl behind the counter didn't smile or even make eye contact. We've been coming here for almost 20 years and never had more than a minor inaccuracy with out order. Then last 4 orders have been grossly incorrect, and the staff seems unconcerned that "your order be ready in 20 minutes" turns into an hour and the order is wrong. Worse, they imply that "we just took down what you ordered". One wrong order is one thing. Multiple incorrect orders in a few months means something or someone has changed. Quite unimpressed by this Chinese restaurant. I ordered take out for dinner. We got the Pu Pu platter for two, which was very small and unlike the traditional pu pu platter mix that I'm used to ( I should mention I am from MA and realize it is hard to find good Chinese food in other states). The vegetable fried rice was good. Fried wontons were described as dumplings and were not dumplings at all and very over cooked. Crab Rangoon were also over cooked possibly made much earlier in the day (around dinner time I would expect fresh) and they did not have much filling in them, two of them had absolutely no filling at all! The dining area is a bit cramped, but the interior is attractive and kept clean for such a busy business. I always looked at take-out places the same way: they are greasy and easy if you just want some food to make you feel guilty after you are done. Fei Ma really changed my mind on that. I ordered their dumplings, noodles, and a few chicken dishes and for the first time I really enjoyed Chinese take out food. It was a crisp summer night, I was craving the salty satisfying flavor of my favorite ethnic food: Chinese. After several bad experiences at my previous Chinese restaurant I was a free agent and looking for change. I turned to Fei Ma, a local institution. I ordered veggie Lo Mein, an egg roll, sesame chicken, and a big plate of excitement. To my raging disappointment, the sesame chicken was in fact actual chicken. Many of my friends told me if you tip well enough they will give you the good stuff(cat meat). This rumor was completely false, and is largely one of my reasons for my 2 star rating. The veggie Lo Mein was in fact, very up to spec. The noodles were firm, but not too firm, but firm enough. The egg roll was delicious but the inside was pink. To be honest I have no idea how this was possible. And finally, as I opened my fortune cookie, to my disgust, there were TWO fortunes in my one cookie. In some sort of sick joke, they decided it would be funny to play games with my only connection to the possible future. I am anxiously waiting for my trip to the toilet tomorrow evening to see how the food fares with my super delicate digestive tract.
