    85. Vegetable Delight and 87. Tofu with Garlic Sauce
    Rachel S.

Family ordered takeaway for Christmas. We ordered their wonton soup, garlic tofu, vegetable delight, sweet and sour chicken, and fried wontons. Balance came out to approximately $110. What's hot - Menu. It's a pretty extensive menu- meats, veggies, tofu, maybe even for vegans. - Service. For ordering food for a family of 6, our order was ready in about 20 minutes. Everything was properly wrapped up. Nothing was missing. When I gave them the name for our order, everything was ready. They're also open during major American holidays, such as Christmas and New Year's, which is very helpful. - Location. Pretty easy to find in a small plaza with other shops. When we went on Christmas Day, all their tables and chairs were pushed to the side, so I'm uncertain whether they're currently doing table service or if it's just take away orders. - Price. Very reasonable, especially given the portions. If you order a quart, versus a pint, it's less than $10, which includes white rice. What's not - Quality. As a child of immigrant parents, who grew up in Silicon Valley, CA, where there is a large community of Chinese immigrants, I can say that this is not authentic Chinese food. It's catered for the local American population. The flavor and seasoning of the food is very generic. For example the difference between my spicy garlic tofu and vegetable delight was only the tofu. All the vegetables between the two dishes were literally the same, including the sauce/taste. With that said, it's not terrible. For Americanized Chinese food, it works. Final Answer Wouldn't be my first choice for quality Chinese food, but it's reliable.

Food was great. The service is extremely quick. The restaurant is to-go only and it's clean.

    Sesame chicken dinner combo meal

I've been trying Chinese places around Columbia over the past couple years, trying to find one of the little strip-mall type of places that had the best food and good prices. Main Moon fits that category better than anywhere else. It's a very straightforward place. You go in, they have the large printed out menus as well as some images above the register of the popular dishes. It's a very small place, and they don't really have tables set up for dining there, so plan to get carry out. Usually they're bringing my food back from the kitchen within 5 minutes of placing an order. I've been trying the combo meals, which come with fried rice and an egg roll, both of which are fairly standard but really good. My favorite dish, with my very simple palate, is the sesame chicken combo, pictured below. If you're going for quick, delicious, fairly priced Chinese food, this is the restaurant for you. 5/5 stars.

You order first and then the food is brought to your table. I liked the causal concept. I ordered chili wontons and a salt and pepper porkchop. The chili wontons were delicious. The salt and pepper porkchop showed up to my table and I immediately thought wait this is not correct. I clarified with the staff member and she told me it was indeed a salt and pepper porkchop. Well a salt and pepper is traditionally deep fried so I wasn't sure what I was looking at. I accepted it and although it was not what I was expecting, it was an incredible meal. I thought they gave too much white rice but the overall presentation was beautiful. The minced pork over the rice and the steamed egg were perfect accompaniments. I ordered a milk tea to go and it was only okay. The boba was cooked too long as they were very soft. Softer than they should be. Otherwise, this was a solid choice to dine in the area.

Their noodles have a great texture to them and make their soups absolutely standout from the rest. The shrimp bao buns have great texture and flavor! The staff is friendly and the service is quick! I had my order to go but the interior is nice. You can tell it's a mom and pop shop and it truly feels like someone's grandmother is making the food back there. I'm looking forward to my next visit to dine in!

But we were able to get a table fairly quickly. We ordered the Vietnamese spring rolls, which by far for the highlight of the evening. The sauce is addictive and I could have eaten three orders of these. My friend ordered the spider roll and I ordered the volcano roll and the Palmetto roll. The Palmetto roll had honey on it, which I didn't think about but the sweet mixed with the fish was not my thing. The volcano roll was absolutely delicious but know that it's pretty heavily covered in the mayo and eel sauce so if you don't want a ton of extra calories, you could ask for it on the side. My friend spider roll was super fishy. I'm glad we went, but not sure that it would be worth a trip back. The restaurant was clean and nice, but the bathroom has seen better days and there was blood on the walls so it was just really weird. Luckily went to the restroom at the end of the evening. So it didn't impact my appetite.

The food is actually good here, but we came and had some of the worst service in post COVID memory…read more We ordered an appetizer, and the tables behind, and to the side of us both had their orders messed up, so after close to 1 hour (no exaggeration) we never had a drink refill or our actual meal put in. We politely went to the bar and said in the most polite way possible that we needed to pay for these reasons, and I still tipped......because I am not a dirt bag. It still took another 10 minutes to pay. I am leaving off the name of the server, because people may need the money, but I am pretty sure that the staff and team know who it is, and the problem can be fixed by servers actually writing down orders, so that mistakes are less common, and staff covering down for others. I will happily update this review if I go back in a year or something and they have these easy, and almost cost neutral solutions implemented.
