Mom and I went to Original Steve's for breakfast. I'm always impressed by how many different ways breakfast can be reinvented and Steve's was no exception. We both had omelettes for breakfast. I was thrilled to see gluten free toast on the menu and even more thrilled to learn that it didn't taste like cardboard. My omelette was cooked to perfection, as was moms. Amazing diner! We came here as we were in Rochester for a special needs ice hockey tournament. Many people suggested we try Steve's. My son and I thoroughly enjoyed the meal. Finally made it to Original Steve's Diner the Henrietta location! This spot has been here for three years, and I'm glad I finally checked it out. We went on a Friday around 10:30 a.m., and it was already busy. We sat at the counter and were told weekends get even busier, so plan ahead! The servers? Sassy in the best way -- super fun and full of personality. The food hits the spot. While it's not heavily seasoned out of the kitchen, it's tasty once you add a little salt, pepper, or one of the multiple hot sauces they have on hand. The more you know! We both got the two eggs, home fries, toast, and ham -- a solid classic breakfast. The coffee is smooth, and the pancakes... Lordy, they are HUGE. If you leave hungry, that's on you. Great service. Our waitress was very friendly and helpful. The decor was cool and the place was clean. We ordered the Irish Benedict , Nutella crepe and Margarita omelette. The Irish hash was good but there was a spice in it that was so overpowering that I couldn't eat it. The margarita omelette was very bland and the mozzarella on top didn't melt and was tough. The hash browns were very good. The Nutella crepes were very good, there was a lot of Nutella inside. I will go back to try something different. read more

We have ordered " to go" meals a few times from the Henrietta location. The food is always outstanding and they'll make it right if it's not. The problem is quality control. In today's takeout order, we ordered three pancakes and one omelette. All the pancakes were ordered with extra sauce. One of the pancakes did not have sauce, although we were charged for it, and we never got the omelette at all, again we were charged for it. When I got home and unpacked everything for the family, it was my omelette that was missing. Now it was after 2 o'clock when I got home, but I tried to call them anyway. It was only like 2:15 or so and I know that the people were still in there yet they were not answering the phone. So now everybody's eating but me, and I'm out probably 20 bucks and I can't get a hold of anybody. This is the one thing that I absolutely cannot stand about Steve's diner. read more

I came here with my mom and Great Aunt. I got the cheese grits and New York Cheesecake Love cake with hot chocolate. The food was delicious! I really enjoyed the New York Cheesecake Love cake it wasn't super sweet which I really like because usually pancakes with toppings are very sweet but this was just right. The hot chocolate was amazing! Perfect amount of chocolate taste without being over done. Our waitress was really sweet and very helpful with answering any questions we had about the menu. The ambiance of the restaurant is very family friendly and had interesting decor. I definitely will come back here when I visit Rochester again! read more

We had some time in our shopping date to try the original Steve's diner on Jefferson Road in Henrietta While waiting 15 to 20 minutes for a table we had to wonder why we were eating here for a scrambled egg Well, they didn't disappoint a customized what I wanted and the waitress said no problem Wow but the rest of my group got items off the menu and we're not disappointed. Either the food came out quickly fast and accurately One thing I do enjoy is the constant flow of fresh coffee and my mug never got less than a half filled I guess I'll have to wait 20 minutes in the future because they didn't disappoint. read more

We went for something out of our usual diner. It was recommended to us. Saturday mornings are busy, so we had about a 20 minute wait but the give a pager so we did some window shopping. The pancakes are a specialty, but we heard the corned beef hash was good & we both had a hash dish. The hash omelette was large & tasty & came hash browns. We had a very short wait and were a party of 5 seated with Miranda, who was about the brightest ray of sunshine one could hope for today. The food was absolutely delicious and I let her choose my bfast, as I was stumped between the Greek Benny and the Nashville Benny. We had the BLT, veggie omelet, chocolate chip pancakes and the Nashville, which was sausage, gravy and eggs with Hollandaise sauce over English Muffins. Great place for breakfast. We had about 30 minute wait as it was Sunday. They call you when your table is ready as there is no room to sit and wait. I had the cannoli love cake which is a huge pancake. It was absolutely amazing. The cannoli cream was so good. I had the jamician me crazy coffee. They keep it refilled and your cup is never empty. After a long morning packing the car for a trip across the border, this diner served as a delicious rest stop. Quirky but cozy- this place is worth a trip if you're in the Rochester area. Wife and I were up early and decided it's a good time for a breakfast date. I clearly wasn't paying attention because I didn't know Steve's was open in this plaza. Plenty of parking in the parking lot to start. Since it was early on a weekday morning, we didn't have a wait. Service was prompt and friendly. Good coffee choices... Jamaican me crazy is always a hit! Everything still looks clean and new. There is a large menu with tons of options. We got an avocado Benedict with bacon, and a veggie omelette. The omelette looks big enough for 2 people! The Benedict was fresh with nice slices of avocado and tomato. One snag was the kitchen forgot to include the requested bacon inside the omelette. But we just shared the side of bacon. The waitress apologized and took it off the bill. The bill included a QR code which we thought we could pay the bill with but it's for the staff to use. It would be nice to be able to pay and go. So you still have to pay at a register. You can also get a discount if you pay with cash. Breakfast for 2 averaged out to about $20 a person. It feels expensive but when you factor in current inflation and cost of everything, it checks out. We'll be back for sure. read more

Let me preface this by saying that I love eating at good diners. On the other hand, Steve's is neither original nor is it very good. The food is mediocre at best and the service is satisfactory. I was fooled by the name, hoping for something distinctive and I am not happy to report that it isn't worth a trip out of my way to eat there. I live in Vegas and there are tons of breakfast places there. But none are like this one. I want to try other things but the strawberry cheesecake lovecakes are just so good, I never am able to. Stop being so delicious!! The breakfast I got the other day was picture perfect. (They told me they took a photo of it before serving it to me.) it was as photogenic as it was good to eat. It's huge though! I was able to take half home to my mother because it's filling! I used to go to the one in Gates when I was home before the Henrietta location opened. In one word ... YUM! My husband and I give this restaurant 4 thumbs up. We arrived around 9am Extensive selection of meals to choose from. Friendly staff and our server Luke was great! The old fashioned diner with booths and tables was comfortable and fun. We had a hard time selecting what we would eat because they have MANY, MANY options for breakfast and lunch. My husband settled on a Bacon Cheeseburger Omelet with smoked Gouda cheese and home fries. He received hash browns on the side which were a bit reminiscent of McDonald's. The chipotle sauce we requested was delicious. I chose to enjoy a Veggie Frittata which was loaded with tomatoes, mushroom, onions, potatoes, peppers, spinach and topped with smoked Gouda cheese. The portions were generous and I took half of my breakfast home to enjoy another time. We hoped to have fresh squeezed orange juice and unfortunately that wasn't available, however there was a substitute which was acceptable. I got the traditional eggs benedict and it was the worst I have ever had. Pictured is the Irish benedict to show the coloring of the hollandaise. The hollandaise is not homemade (unlike other Steve's locations) and they used regular ham, not Canadian bacon. Thank goodness for hot sauce because at least it gave it some flavor. Ordered the seasonal pumpkin bread French toast to share after the waitress raved about it and it was also disappointing. It was not a flavorful pumpkin bread; I tasted a bit of cinnamon but no clove, nutmeg, all spice, etc. The only evidence of French toast was the egg on the bottom. The texture was also unpleasant, like a wet crumbling. Will not return to this location. read more

Want to like this place more - should probably stick to their pancakes which are elite. Got the Mexican wrap and it had a weird almost chemical odor and smell to it. The chorizo had thick inedible casing. On top of that it was very soggy. Ate 3 bites and left the l rest (3 strikes).
