Met up with family while in town. The place wasn't busy so our party of 8 was able to be seated quickly. Service was so slow to the point that we were basically forgotten. The waitress took drink orders for a few of us that were there then when others arrived we had to ask another server to please get them drinks. So that server said she'd get our server. Food order finally taken and didn't take long to come out but brought out by someone else. We needed napkins and forks but nobody around to ask so we got up and got ourselves. Clam chowder was not even warm. Gross. Hubs shepherd pie was covered in cheese and had no veggies. Sat at the bar and as usual the service is always good. The place was the old dockside restaurant with plenty of sitting room for tables and chairs and booths as well also they are good for groups. We went Saturday for lunch to give these new, rebranded spot a try. Their menu is pretty big and they had a lot to specials! I got the avocado turkey burger and really loved how nicely grilled it was. There was also soooo much avocado. It was nice and fresh. The fries were okay; not my favorite. My husband got the special veal parm sub. He said the veal was very fresh and the red sauce pretty good! He'd get it again. He agreed that the fries were disappointing. First not so good experience. To start she for got the lemons for the drinks. Then the stew had no meat or potatoes in it. They took it back and admitted it was what they had left for the night. That never should have come out. My friend burger was just okay. My pot roast was great but one out of three is not great. Table was not swept underneath. Had the American chop suey and was very good. Bread rolls were fresh and the meals were very reasonable. Price for the half meals were great and still quite a bit of food. Ambiance was super cozy. I do not know where to start. It was an awful experience, awful women (poss manager) helping serve our party, who was very rude. First got french onion soup and it was not even the slightest warmed, never mind melted cheese and hot for soup. COLD! The cheese was all lumped together and nasty. Then got a fajita which was burnt, chicken was charcoaled and the peppers and onion all charred and black. Another person at my party had same and returned the soup. Formerly Floramo's Wakefield,  Main St Grille & Taphouse opened recently, which offers a family friendly dining atmosphere with a spacious full service dining room to the left and the full service bar & lounge to the right. The place was updated with hardwood flooring, booths, and tables in the dining room and plenty of TVs with Keno including Keno screens in several booths. There's also a Mass Lottery scratch ticket machine in the front lobby. You can call this place a Kenocentric establishment. Background music (low volume) can be heard over the speakers including classic rock music. The current food menu offerings & pricing seems similar to the former Floramo's, offering Italian dishes, pasta, BBQ meats, steaks, chicken,  seafood, pizzas, salads, soups, subs, wraps, burgers, and a few desserts. They also have a kids menu. The prices here seem fair with good portions. They also offer lunch specials on Mondays to Saturdays until 3:30pm.  The bar offers about a dozen beers on tap, bottle beers, wine, mixed drinks, and cocktails.   I stopped by Main St Grille & Taphouse for dinner recently. The bar looked fairly busy and the dining room had plenty of open seating. I was promptly seated at a booth in the dining room. There were Keno forms in the booth if I chose to play. I quickly decided what I wanted for dinner. The server arrived to take my drink order (I got ice water) and placed my order. The server brought out a basket of Italian bread & butter. A Side Salad came out first (included with my dinner entree) which had a mix of fresh greens, tomato, red onions abd cucumber slices, and thick parmesan peppercorn dressing on the side. For a starter, the Seafood Stuffed Mushrooms ($10.95 plus tax) came out very hot, 4 stuffed mushroom caps in lemon butter, which had a soft bread & sealeg stuffing, pretty good. My main entree arrived very soon after the starter was served. The Meat Lasagna ($14.95 plus tax) was a big portion of a soft layered cheese lasagna topped with plenty of thick red sauce and soft ground beef. I also requested a box for some of the lasagna so I could get dessert. They did not have a formal dessert menu, but had Peanut Butter Pie, Chocolate Cake, and Tiramisu. I went with the latter. For dessert, the Tiramisu ($7.50 plus tax) was served chilled with layers of cream, espresso soaked ladyfingers, and cocoa powder layer on top,  whipped cream on the side. This dessert was on the sweet side. As I was finishing up, the check was brought over which was $35.52 with tax and before tip. Overall, I enjoyed a nice relaxing dinner with good tasting food. The service was adequate with timely delivery of my food. The server for the most part left me alone to eat my dinner in peace. I would definitely return here for lunch if I'm in the neighborhood. read more

Recently visited Main St. Grill and Taphouse. We chose to sit at the bar and watch the games. Plenty of televisions. we started with nachos which were delicious and big enough for 4 people. My friend had the chicken parm with linguine. They said it was fantastic. O had a half rack of ribs. I am glad I didn't get the whole rack. The ribs were moist and flavorful. We decided to have a night cap. I had an espresso martini. They said it martini was very good. Although it was light, I prefer a dark espresso martini it was very good. Probably the only flaw of the night, no coffee beans The staff was very friendly and attentive. We will be back. read more

Food is quite good. Ambiance offers a wide variety of screens and the staff tries to be entertaining but they tend to like to rush you out.

The only consistent thing is that service there sucks all the time! Waitresses are rude and give awful service! Food is hit or miss!! Was there last night and service was bad but food was worse! Cold, old reheated meats, soggy fries and tasteless rice. Waitress did not come back to table once to see if everything was ok. You can hear them all yapping because they all stand around because the restaurant side was DEAD at dinner time! Giving this place a break! read more

Worst meal all 3 of us have had. We got; 1) fish and chips, 2) chicken fajitas and ) wings. Fish was soggy, terrible. Fries were also soggy. Wife and I recently went for dinner on a Saturday night. In the past, when the establishment was under other names, we were always relegated to the back lot to try and find a space, but there were plenty available, which I commented to my wife at the time made me nervous. We walked in and sat at the bar, which was only half full. Once the bartender took our order, we were pretty much ignored the rest of the night (a different server brings you your food). Bartender never came by to ask how the food was, if we needed anything, I had to get up and grab my own ketchup from down the end of the bar, I had to flag them down for a drink refill. There is a menu item that is a two meat combo, but it didn't have a price, which was odd. I asked the bartender and they said it was $38!! No wonder they don't list the price on the menu. After the initial shock wore off, I ordered the half rack of ribs for $20. They were average at best and the fries were soggy. Wife ordered salmon which she said was "ok". read more

I will admit, I have not been back to this establishment myself (I work a 2nd shift job), but my boyfriend comes here often for drinks, lunch, and Keno. The manager reached out to me about my review on takeout packaging and she seemed genuinely concerned about my comments. The bar staff is great and some of them know us from going there so many times over the years. They will often ask for me if my boyfriend goes solo. He came home with a lobster roll for me the other night and I did notice that the takeout was packaged properly. I will give the lunch takeout another try. read more

I actually feel torn on this and I'm not one to go around and leave negative reviews especially because you can't be 100% all the time, however, the way you interact with your patrons especially if you're a manager that is something in your control. While this is not about the food (listen food here is great, 4-5 stars for food, and if you go there ask for Sammy for a server, she's amazing!) but the phone interaction I just had and yes I might be being petty but I am also a business owner and a man of principle. So I'm placing an Uber eats order (because I want delivery) and they don't allow you to leave comments to modify a dish, so we eat there all the time mind you, and I get the mixed grille but I don't want the turkey tips or steak tips, so they typically double up the sausage and chicken tips instead. So I call to ask them to modify this, she 1st tells me they'll only give me extra chicken tips, sure whatever, I place the order (mind you it's over $200 bucks) and I call back and ask "would you mind just melting American cheese on the sausage." Now, any normal manager or even staff would more than likely be like "sure no problem"... NOPE, she asks me if I paid the $1 for cheese, which I don't even think there's an option to do so and again you can't make a comment to even ask them to do that on uber eats, so she's like "you didn't pay for it" which I asked if she could charge me (because you can modify on Uber eats from the restaurant) and she tells me she can't do it. So we're sort of at a stand still, and I'm like "I just lost part of my meats so I think a $1 slice of cheese calls us even" and she then says "well I gave you extra chicken". So I'm like "how about I just dropped $200 bucks and I eat there all the time and I e never been charged for a slice of cheese on a sausage" and she continues to argue with me telling me they should be, and I'm like "would you prefer if I just canceled the order?" And she just said something like "well, ya, I don't know..." sort of a mishmash of words. Anyway, I know I'm being super specific and I'm hoping the upper management reads this and is appalled that a silly situation like this actually happened. I actually don't believe that "the customer is always right" because they aren't, but good customer service means you try to keep your paying clients happy and not argue and nickel and dime over stupid stuff like this. Not worth it. This place has gone from the dockside to floramos and now main street. Its not getting better. But hey, if you want to play keno, they have that! We got the quesadilla and mozzarella for appetizers. The quesadilla was bland and un-flavorful. The salsa that came with it was delicious so we just poured that on top of it and ate it that way. The mozzarella was good. We got the ravioli dinner, shepards pie, chicken broccoli Alfredo and the fish and chips. Everything was okay. The fish and chips could have been fried a little more they were really light in color. The ravioli was disgusting. The waitress didn't even know if they were fresh or frozen. She was kind enough to let us order something else. We got the BLT, it was fine nothing spectacular. I don't recommend eating here. The atmosphere, wait staff and food just seem to be blah. i just want to say that when you arrive at this restaurant, please ask to be seated in sammys (samanta) section. we had her our 1st time there and have had her ever since. She gets the orders right, pays attention to detail and has a great sense of humor. The food is fantastic. we get something different each time and have not had a bad experience as of yet. If you want to wait an hour to get your food while everyone else had ordered the same time but got their food right away; finished their meal and left while you are still waitin; then this is the place for you. All we got was "your food is coming soon "three times" and "I'm sorry" and do we want dessert on the house. But by the way; your food tab is $100. i understand things get bottledneck; but this place wasn't busy; worst experience ever. No concession at all. Solid neighborhood restaurant and bar! Steak tips, ribs and chicken tips were excellent along with traditional recipe buffalo wings doused in Frank's hot sauce, complete with carrots, celery and homemade bleu cheese dressing. Cozy and comfortable, they have a great local craft beer selection on tap, and contrary to a previous reviewer's comment, they in fact DO have a printed menu of their available drafts. And the beer is ICE cold. It's not fancy folks, but you get huge portions of solid, tasty home cooking for your money, and entrees come with a salad to start, just like in the old days. And the service was excellent. It's awesome to have a place like this in the neighborhood that is accessible and affordable and truly local. read more

I was dropping my kids off at my their mom's with my aunt after a full Saturday with them per the norm..now being from the Northshore region (Beverly) where we have a fine fair share of restaurants to dine out in, the thought of trying to get into a spot was slim to none. Great news and a pleasant surprise today. I went to Main Street Grille & Taphouse today to try it out, and saw that the original owners of The Dockside had returned and are now running the rebranded and upgraded restaurant. It was nice to see familiar faces. The food was fantastic, lots of menu choices, and our meals were cooked to perfection and very very yummy. The luncheon portions were large enough that we got a doggy bag (the dogs were happy) and the meals included a nice fresh side salad. I had steak tips and a sausage...cooked to perfection and you could cut them with a fork, my friend had a rack of ribs that she raved about. The Chicken Parm looked good and next time I go that will be my choice. Come support local owners and a real neighborhood restaurant. read more
