Dollar oysters! (And a mezcal drink)
    Sara E.

I've been here quite a few times now at different times of day, alone, with one other person, and with a group. Overall, I am happy with the service. Things were a little slow with the group once, but whether it's lunch or dinner, alone or with another party, I've been very happy with the friendly and attentive staff. The food is very good - we've tried a good portion of the menu, but my preference will always be for the sushi bowls and the maki, although going all out on the chef"s choice is definitely worth it! The bulgogi bowl is excellent as well. I absolutely love the 4-6PM dollar oysters!! Hard to keep away! Finally, the house cocktails are well designed and executed, you can't go wrong with any of them. This is my go to spot in the Market plaza.

Chicken and waffles were crazy good

My son and I had a great meal here today. We got two apps and a salad. The Cobb salad was excellent. Dressing on the side the chicken that they serve on top of the cob is so tasty. It's worth it to get it for that alone. We also ate the Peking rolls, and they were very crispy and great tasting. The Asian ribs, were very tender, though I think the taste of them could be changed just a bit. The winner of the whole meal by far, was the chicken and waffles appetizer. My son had it as a meal and there was more than enough. The manager, Michael, heard us gushing about the chicken and waffles, and said he'd love to hear that so we chatted a bit. He explained that while they make the chicken in house which is fried yet very tender, the waffles they actually import from Belgium. Belgium? Well it was worth it for sure. Neither of us will ever order anything else and it's definitely enough for a meal. Paloma was our waiter and she was wonderful. Very attentive, friendly, yet didn't hover of course. Though it was an expensive lunch, we would definitely go back there. The people make it great and the atmosphere is excellent also. Kind of laid-back yet great for a work lunch, and the music isn't too loud. It doesn't hurt that I'm a deadhead. I love all of the serenitee restaurants. A couple I rate lower than others and one of my favorite is Calas in Manchester. Each one has its own vibe, so callas is very different, but equally exceptional. I was seated right next to a picture of Jerry, and right into a photo wall with a big picture of Jerry almost directly over my head.

Another nice Restaurant from the Serenity Group. Last one of the group to go to.nice location, everything was nice & run well. We go to most of the group of their restaurants.

Where is the cheese? Tried Alchemy for the first time ordered the Brie appetizer- There was literally the tiniest scaping of cheese on the bottom and 3 slivers of apple with 3 small stale pieces of bread. It could have been a really nice dish if there was actually some cheese. It had nice flavor there was just much there. Entrees were okay even though we asked for dressing on the side on our salad and it came with dressing..

We ended up her magically at $1 oyster hour which was a pleasant surprise. We ordered a dozen orders, a salad and a burger to share. We were seated immediately as there was really no one else in the restaurant at that time. Service was on point the entire time during our stay, and our server told us about the app where we get a free appetizer on our first visit. We ordered the onion dip with chips and it was so good! The restaurant started to fill up and looks like a wonderful place to come back to. We happened to be in the area shopping and I hope we make our way back to try this place again!

Love this place. Probably my favorite restaurant out of the SERENITEE restaurants. Sashimi is fresh, oysters yummy and staff is great. I come here a couple times a month and it never disappoints! Keep up the great work

Stopped here for dinner after exploring in Salem all day as it was on our way home. Friendly staff and nice location. Dinner was good. Burger was cooked correctly and sweet potato fries were good! My friend liked her sushi roll and was happy they had the option of tofu as she's vegetarian.

Stopped here for a quick lunch after shopping. There were lots of people sitting outside as it was a beautiful day. We decided to eat inside and split a couple of appetizers. We chose the chicken dumplings and Asian style ribs. The obscene very meaty and the sauce on the was really tasty too.

Ummm are we kidding. Amazing experience at alchemy tonight. Great live band! Lucas and Michelle made amazing drinks!!! The oysters were so delicious and perfect! Yum! Genuinely could not have asked for a better experience. We will be coming back that's for sure!!!

My first time coming here and it was beyond amazing. The service was amazing, our server was so attentive. The atmosphere was great too. A chill and classy vibe. My poke bowl was amazing! I'll definitely be back!

Citrus salad (2/5 stars) pickles (5/5) and two drinks with menus that we did not ask to have remain on the table
    Lily G.

Service is decent, but ambience is as if Bertucci's had grown up and become hipster. Food? Prices are steep and plates are small. Hit or miss if it tastes good. We got two drinks, pickles, and a citrus salad. Pickles: a 5/5 hit, would have been a 2/5 review if we hadn't ordered this. Copied directly from every other restaurant this place owns-- I remember eating them at Maggie's Farm a while back. Even better after the drinks. Drinks: Lychee tasted lake a lush bath bomb. My friend said windex. Peach thing is some take on a Bellini, pretty good in comparison to the other. Citrus salad: BITTER as anything. Avocado was the only thing saving this. Grapefruit was peeled but they left one giant seed in. Can't catch everything I guess, but my tooth did. They left the menus on the table too, fetched them 30 mins later and apologized. Wasn't an issue for us, would be a 3/5 even if they took it.

Ate lunch here on my birthday. The food, service and ambiance is nice. Although pricey for the portion size and quality. Husband and I shared the Buffalo wings and fries. The wings were ok, nothing to write home about. The fries were delicious, thin and crispy, just how we like it. I had their salad and it was tasty. Husband had the steak which was cooked very well. The mashed potatoes it came with was sooo good! Overall a decent meal.

And we interacted with neighboring tables on both sides to recommend (when asked) the oysters, and when one received a drink with a big smoke bubble that created a magical flow of smoke when it burst. French inspired drinks and food were fantastic and interesting. The French 75 menu was so interesting-- choose your flavor and your bubbles. I tried two, the classic with rosé was so pretty, and the honey lavender with base level champagne was delicious. The raw oysters were to die for! Perfect little pop of acidity with other flavors delicately added and perfectly balanced. The oysters Rockefeller were also perfectly delicious. The foie gras is not something I would normally eat, but my boyfriend loves that stuff so we went with it. I enjoyed it more than he did. It was not a classic foie gras, it was smoother with a creamier texture and more buttery flavor. Eating it with the fig jam and "light as clouds" toast made it absolutely delicious! I enjoyed every minute and mouthful--would definitely seek this place out again even though I live an hour away! We enjoyed ourselves too much to take pictures!

Really fun and entertaining dinner experience night out at Post 1917 in Reading AKA Jason Carron…read more Great for date nights. Atmosphere/Decor: Really interesting and unique interior formerly a Post Office (hence the name) with exposed brick, a tall windows, and a very long three-sided bar that makes up most of the restaurant. Very happening and social scene. Most folks dressed business casual and to impress. Lots of birthdays, regulars, and lookers. Big glam meets classic steakhouse hybrid vibes. We sat at a booth behind the bar and were initially concerned about placement but glad for the happening scene afterwards. The legroom was fairly tight for the taller folks. The booth was a little tight with space for all our food and drinks (e.g., four people, four cocktails, four waters, three appetizers was tight). Service: Very attentive. We had great servers, very attentive, fun, offered helpful insights and thoughts, and took great care of us ala traditional steakhouse norms. No delays. No complaints. Food: We really enjoyed our meal. The appetizers were fun. The restaurant is gluten free in homage to one of the owners(?) kids who's found it hard to eat out. You probably wouldn't notice that it's gluten free, as whatever almond/corn/rice flour they're using closely mimics mouth feel and taste. We were a little surprised the lamb app was (gluten-free) breaded but very moist and flavorful. Our steaks were all very good. I had the ribeye and it was a nice cut, aged (23-30 days?), and cooked exactly as desired. Cauliflower was decent and voluminous but not amazing. Wedge decent. Filets good. The chicken parm sounded very intriguing -- different than the usual fare and apparently one of their most popular dishes and huge but we will save it for next time. Fun desert options. Drinks: Great dirty martini. Fun cocktails for the table -- some great some just good. All boozy. The Whistle Pig tasting desert option was a a great value even if just for the 12 year XII at that price. They have a few rare allocated bourbons and whiskeys. Price: A much better deal than Boston steakhouses in general. This would have been twice the price if downtown there, and they're clearly enticing folks to make the drive. I think it's well worth it.
