    chicken tenders
    Julya B.

i come to this place solely for their street corn, but that's usually at brunch on some toast, so when i saw it came with the guacamole i was IN. the guacamole was probably the best i've ever had, salted to perfection & the chips had a nice seasoning on them too. the chicken tenders were tiny for 17$, like very small. they were fine, but yea just overpriced. bartender was friendly enough & she made some great drinks.

Was packed so service took a bit, didn't really check in. Food was pretty mid lacking flavor on the fish but the sauce was so salty I couldn't eat it. Typical bar restaurant vibe din lighting

    Pulled pork nachos

This is a pretty short review because I got nachos and a cider. Service was friendly. Atmosphere was sports bar, but very clean and great energy. Nachos with pulled pork were delicious. Would absolutely return and do it again.

Sam Walkers is a great place to grab food and a drink. I would definitely recommend making a reservation. For starters we always get the nachos with pulled pork and guacamole. These are some of the best nachos you'll eat. For entrees my wife loves the Cajun pasta. I get either the smash burger or the chicken tenders. The food here is great, and they are great with allergies. A manager walks out the food with an allergy alert. If you're in Woburn, check out Sam Walkers. 10/10

Dry Rub Wings with Ranch & BBQ Sauce

If you think mid-week tavern food is just an afterthought, Sam Walker's American Tavern is here to prove you wrong. We came here on a Wednesday evening to celebrate my wife's birthday. She had been here once before and insisted I would love the food. I'll admit I was a little skeptical, but I was absolutely blown away. The Vibe & Service: Logistics matter, so I was thrilled to find plenty of parking. Inside, the ambiance is wonderfully cozy with a mildly busy, comfortable energy at the bar. We brought our 1.5-year-old toddler, which can sometimes complicate dining out, but we were seated immediately. Our waitress greeted us before we had even settled into our chairs, and the service was top-notch from start to finish. Drinks & Kids Meal: My wife ordered one of their mule mocktails, which was incredible. Knowing we were on a toddler's schedule, we ordered her the fish and chips right away. The kitchen was super fast--it came out remarkably quick and was fantastic. It kept our little one happily occupied the entire meal (she even learned how to dip her fries in ketchup and ranch tonight!). The Food: We originally planned to start with appetizers and order entrees later, but the portions were so decent that we never made it to the main courses! * Dry Rub Chicken Wings: A masterclass in execution. Decently sized and served at the perfect temperature. They were crispy on the outside, beautifully moist on the inside, and cooked to absolute perfection. Honestly incredible. * Buffalo Chicken Nachos: These stole the show. I have eaten plenty of nachos in my life, but these were unequivocally the best I've ever had (my wife wholeheartedly agreed). The secret? Even the tortilla chips themselves are seasoned! They were loaded with a highly generous amount of everything, topped off with fresh guacamole. We completely wiped the plate clean. Highly recommend! Dessert: We capped off the night with a warm brownie accompanied by their made-from-scratch ice cream. An absolutely incredible finish to the meal. The Verdict: I am shockingly surprised by the elite caliber of the quality, taste, and service here. Everything about this place fired on all cylinders. I will definitely be returning to see if they maintain this level of consistency, but for now, I cannot recommend Sam Walker's enough!

Royale burger - looks good but unfortunately was raw in the middle

Rare to leave a 2 star review for me, but I tried to give this place a chance again and the food and ambiance is not worth it. We thought we were playing it safe and ordered the royale burger and green goddess bowl - both looked pretty good, but were a disappointment. We got the burger and it was mostly rare / very pink and essentially raw and cold in the middle - didn't finish it. The fries were also cold, which was a bummer because who wants cold fries? For the green goddess bowl we asked for a vinaigrette on the side, but got green goddess dressing on the side - I think this was a kitchen error as we saw the server input our substitute in the toast device. Acoustically this place is in dire need of sound dampening as it's one giant room mostly. It is very loud and difficult to have a conversation. Our server was good, but that's really the only positive comment I have.

    Pretzel

Went to Sam Walkers for the second time. First time I got Steak Tips while my daughter got the Chicken Pie. The tips were just OK and she said the Chicken Pie was so hot should couldn't taste anything. Second time I wanted to play it safe and got the Deluxe Burger done medium. My daughter got the Pesto Chicken Pasta. My burger was OK although it was a bit on the rare side. Her Pesto Chicken looked incredible when it came to the table. However, the chicken had a really strange taste and the pasta was so loaded with tasteless pesto sauce it was swimming. Needless to say we let the server know and she took it right off the bill. My daughter got a salad and a Barvarian Pretzel instead. The pretzel was very good but the beer sauce was very grainy and not much flavor. The mustard sauce was pretty good though. There isn't much of a seasonal drink selection. All in all not a place we will return.

Solid place to go for food and drink if you find yourself Bermuda Triangle of Woburn/Wakefield/Melrose off of 93. I work in the area a few times a month and have popped by on various Tuesdays to wait out the traffic. To my surprise even on Tuesday it has always been very lively! I think a lot of commuter workers have the same idea + it's a shared lot with a hotel. Big space, really nice decor, casual elevated sports bar vibe. Good for groups but the bar areas could also be good spots to strike up conversations. The menu is enticing with some rotating dishes. My favorite so far was the steak Fajita bowl but everything I've tried has been pretty good including the smash burger and Shrimp Fra Diavlo, buff chicken dip solid. Good cocktails for sure. Staff has been courteous and professional and it's busy all the time- which tells you something! Check it out!

Came on a Sunday and was surprised how busy they were. Solid food. Good customer service. The place is pretty big, but would put in a reservation to be safe.

Spacious pub with a nice variety of breakfast, lunch and appetizers spreads! We couldn't decide between breakfast or lunch options, so we chose to get one of each and share. Service was prompt (note: if you order apps, the enteees do come out pretty quickly so you may want to space out when you order). The only item that didn't land was the caprese sandwich- the description looked a lot more alluring than it tasted! But otherwise you can't go wrong

The fried pickles here are a must, fried to perfection! The sauce it comes with has a nice kick to it too. I got the hot bird - spicy fried chicken sandwich with fries. The flavor was good, but the coleslaw tasted a little bitter at times and the breading slid off the chicken making it messy to eat. The short rib plate was delicious, minus the short rib. The mash potatoes were well seasoned and asparagus well cooked. However, the short rib was not seasoned at all, the meat was tender though. Cute place to meet with friends, good music, and overall nice vibes

Great spot! We stopped in for lunch and loved everything. Especially loved the wide range of options and care put into the gluten free menu. Our server was extremely nice and attentive as well. Over all a great spot to stop in for a meal or even just a drink at the bar.

I recommend the quesadilla or burrito. It is such a CUTE restaurant. The trash can is even aesthetic (love the barrel moment) my favorite spot is the high top table. It's PERFECT. If I was stranded on an island FOREVER I'd want their guacamole for the REST OF MY LIFE. This is my FAVORITE restaurant. Even the CUSTOMERS are nice and the vibes are immaculate. If you're EVER in the area, you NEED to go to La Victoria. It's the BEST RESTAURANT in Boston and their burritos WILL be my wedding cake #2027Bride. That's right, I NEED their burritos for my wedding cake. And I LOVE their marinated chicken. It is to DIE FOR. I would rather eat ONE quesadilla with cheese and marinated chicken than marry my high school sweetheart next march (#2027bride) or even MEET SABRINA CARPENTER. If you are EVER in the area, GO TO THIS PLACE. It is the only thing that keeps our area HAPPY. That AND Dunkin. They should Collab! If you're seeing this La Victoria, COLLAB WITH DUNKIN PLEASE!!! This is THE BEST RESTAURANT I HAVE EVER BEEN TO. I EAT IT AT LEAST 4 times a month. It is affordable, the service is great, the employees are so nice, the food is worth a billion dollars, the ambiance is perfect. Let's just say, I love this place more than I love my fiance! Such an awesome street Mexican food place. Got some chips and guacamole , an order of fish tacos (2…read moretacos), and one pork skin/meat taco. Food was extremely fast and the cashiers and cooks are just polite and very friendly and welcoming. There was a miscommunication with one of the order, but there was no big deal here -- they fixed it quickly without making it a big deal. They even let us keep the one that was made by mistake. Great attitudes and views on running business. (Other places, they rather not give it to customers for whatever reasons...) All good here. No complaints whatsoever. Highly recommend La Victoria Taqueria!

We are not that far from Medford and it took over 45 minutes to get there (traffic was crazy!) and we were running late. I called and they were super nice and said they could hold the table for 10 minutes (we were running 5 minutes behind our reservation) and not to stress out. When we got there, they were hopping! I am sure they get a lot of pre-show people because before I could even say we had to be out of there by 7, she asked if we were going to the show and assured us we would be out way before then. My hubby and decided to go the tapas route (which is basically the majority of their menu) and it was AWESOME! We started with the Queso Fundido. I am not a chirozo fan but the hubby is so I thought I would give it a try. It worked very well with the cheese and did not over power it. We moved on to the Cheviche Amarillo, Plantano Macho stuffed with beef, and Pollo Mole. All were perfect and just the right amount of food. I think my favorite was the Cheviche which was a white fish with sweet potato. The "sauce" was a citrusy topping and so light - did not detract from other flavors. Really all three were delicious. We also tried the flan because it looked so good coming out. Fair warning that I am not a flan person but it looked so yummy. Again, it was better than I have had but still not a fan - hubby on the other had devoured it with pleasure. It is a great location as well, and the space was very cheery, clean and despite being super busy we were not on top of each other - super worth the trip!

I got the margarita de la casa with salt, it was your classic margarita, but I liked it. Smaller size. For food, we started with the tamal with pork mole, which was really tasty, and fresh. Only one per order though, at $12 a piece. The size wasn't huge either. I then ordered the arroz del mar. It was creamy rice mixed with calamari, shrimp, and octopus. I was expecting more of a cream sauce but it was more like a watery broth, with a kick. It was spicy but tolerable. I liked the flavors but it didn't hit my craving. My boyfriend got the pollo con mole which he liked but I don't think he was crazy about it. I was still hungry so we ordered the plantano macho with beef. This stuffed plantain was good, I liked the cheese on it. But again, small size.. I will say I didn't know it was tapas style until we overheard the waitress tell another table. It makes sense in hindsight but we were quite hungry and this might have deterred us from coming. Portions were small even for tapas style. I saw a group and I'm not sure how they managed without ordering a surplus of food. I overheard them order at least 7 tacos...one per order... Strong flavors and fresh ingredients, I would say that. I think this is an elevated experience for food and it was a pleasant experience, but I wouldn't rush back because I don't think the portions were worth it even for tapas style.
