I took my daughter's (3) bike to the shop today to fix the flat and they were so kind! I had felt a bit silly fixing such a tiny bike, but they were so happy to help. It was about a 20 minute process and you just wait in their patio area. Their patio that has string lights and is so cute. They said that they host events there sometimes so check their Instagram @mainstreetcycles. Scott (the owner) was eating lunch and offered me some humus right from his plate and a water! The guy absolutely kills it every time--whether it's a simple tire change or a full tune-up, I always leave feeling like I'm riding a brand-new bike. Danny's attention to detail, speed, and overall knowledge of bikes is unmatched. Plus, he's just a solid dude--friendly, professional, and clearly passionate about what he does. I've thrown some last-minute requests his way and he's always come through. If you want your ride in top shape and to feel like your bike's in the best hands in town, ask for Danny. Might as well call them Santa Claus, because they literally made Christmas happen for us. Tragically while driving 400+ miles to spend the holiday with family in torrential downpour, the wheels of our son's new SE bike fell off the roof rack along the 101. Seeing as it's Christmas Eve, we were beyond devastated and also panicked as finding a replacement wouldn't be easy in such a time crunch. Still en route to our final destination, with the recipient in the car with us...they quite literally bent over backwards to not only give us an incredible deal on the bike we had 1/2 of on top of our car...they helped camouflage the item so our kids wouldn't suspect what was on top of Santa's sleigh...aka our car. The bike was obviously assembled, they then dis-assembled it, wrapped it in several bags and sandwiched it between cardboard to ensure the surprise wouldn't be revealed until Christmas morning. They were so understanding, gracious and talk about paying it forward and having the Christmas spirit. We will always return for our bike needs. I mean, and let's be honest. Saved my husband as he was receiving death glares from me for the previous 80 miles as I promptly told him he ruined Christmas. I had a flat...no big deal...but I had a model that that they don't handle that required a quirky procedure to remove the wheel. Fortunately I had a download from the manufacturer to guide the procedure. Clearly they were a bit frustrated but undaunted as they finally got the wheel off. At that time I said, since the wheel is off let's replace both the tube and tire. They did this in a flash....then they went over the bike making certain that everything was aligned correctly and every screw tightened . The mechanics were very thorough and patient...glad I went there. read more

They were open and honest and were able to get the job done within 24 hours. Main Street Cycles is top notch! From the customer service experience to the variety of products and the non-pushy sales tactics, I could not be happier. This review is well overdue as I purchased my bike in Jan/Feb of 2024 along with some gear and a new helmet for my wife. It's an incredible environment, especially for the newbies because at no point did I feel looked down upon for my inexperience or that they were attempting to upsell me. I did limited research and thought I knew what I wanted but while in the store I asked the sales associate (wish I could remember his name) his honest opinion on the bike and he was able to give me the no strings attached honest assessment of two different bike models and the pros and cons of each. It feels like these guys live and breathe bikes. As long as Main Street Cycles is around, I will be a customer for service and any additional equipment. I'm very grateful for the service and cost I experienced. I dealt with a couple different sales associates between my first visit, my second visit when purchasing as well as when picking the bike up after assembly - I really wish I could recall all of their names to give a shout out but unfortunately it has slipped my mind. I had a great experience with bicycle repair services here. I am on a road trip with my boys, and my younger son's bike (an internal hub 3-speed 'priority' brand bike) stopped shifting after getting bruised up at the skatepark. I walked in with the bike and Scott immediately began to help me diagnose and repair the bike. He was very friendly and knowledgeable and it only took him about 15-20 minutes to get the bike shifter working properly again. Thanks Scott!!! The shop itself was very cool and hip. Very clean shop with a nice selection of bikes, including a few e-bikes and a couple SE Bikes. There were a couple of employees in the shop on a Friday afternoon to answer questions and service bikes (I've been to some bike shops with literally one or two guys max and they felt uninvolved). Main Street Cycles has a nice waiting area with comfortable seating and even some public acoustic guitars to strum and play. Too bad I don't know how to jam. after having the worse experience ever at Bicycle Bobs in Goleta... I reluctantly continued my search for the perfect bike. When arriving at Main St Cycle, the young man that helped me was so extremely nice and patient. He intently listened to what I was looking for, showed me a couple bikes and helped me find the perfect one in my size. He even had me test drive it, ensuring my seat was at the correct height. He explained all the specs and after realizing the didn't understand what he was explaining (even though I tried playing it off that I did) he explained again, explaining what each feature does. Had my bike chain snap last week and anticipated a lengthy wait to get it repaired; I called Main Street Cycles and they said to bring it in any time during their hours of operation (as long as it isn't right before closing, obviously). Today I stopped by with my bike at 10:30 and by 10:45 I was loading my repaired bicycle into the car for the ride home. The repair shop guy was courteous and super efficient. He explained why they are so beneficial. I ended up buying one after trying it out in the parking lot. I also bought a car carrier after Nick checked to see what was recommended for my car. He sold me lights and a helmet. He didn't oversell anything. Owner, Scott, was also very helpful and they both installed the bike rack for me and loaded my bike. Broke a spoke in my wheel on a ride over the weekend. Went into Main Street hoping for a 5 day turnaround and having heard how busy bike shops are now not sure it would happen. Jeremy helped me and gave me options on what to do. I opted for new rim and he configured it and sent me out the door all set to go in 10 minutes. What a great experience. All the guys were friendly and the shop has a great vibe. They have taken over the space next door and have a huge selection of bikes as well. He was very cautious helped her put the one she was looking at. While he was explaining. She saw an other one and he helped her with it. He acted like we was the only ones in the store.
