What a great little spot, right here in Centralia! Having just moved into town, we were looking for somewhere to order from - not really feeling like digging out the cookware from the boxes and making dinner. We had been looking and hoping to find some good fish and chips somewhere, and we hit the jackpot here at Main Street Grill! A huge portion of beer battered cod, served with fries, slaw, and garlic toast was on the menu and soon there after was in our bellies! Everything tasted great! In fact, after moving from the Midwest and knowing what real Wisconsin fish fry should taste like ... and getting utterly disappointed with the fish and chips offerings in Seattle ... the meal at the Main Street Grill was amazing! It actually tasted normal and what beer battered fish and slaw should taste like. No foo-fooing it up like they did in Seattle!! Give us the real deal! Not much detail to share here, because fish and chips shouldn't be fancy. It's simple -- fry up big pieces of cod ... check! Throw in a huge portion of thick fries ... check! Pair it with coleslaw that actually has the right proportion of cabbage to mayo to carrots ... check! As a bonus, a tasty piece of garlic toast ... check! I constantly drive by this place and the lot never seems to have cars in it, so I was uncertain about giving it a go...but the other Yelp reviews gave me the push I needed! I ordered chicken strips and they were perfect, as were the fries and coleslaw. I will ABSOLUTELY be back to try something else. The service was fast and very warm/friendly. I was in town on a work trip and could not seem to find a place I wanted to eat in Lewis County. My AirBnB hostess recommended this place and it fit the bill for a quiet, casual dinner with intentional leftovers to take to work for lunch the following day. My chicken parm was enormous, I could eat only a quarter of it after the accompanying starter salad which was fresh, crisp, and nicely complemented by the house made bleu cheese dressing. This would be a 4 star meal had my white wine been properly chilled and served in an appropriate glass. Alas, it came out of the kitchen sort of tepid in a peculiar looking plastic goblet. I would definitely try Main Street Grill again. It's unpretentious, charming and the server was very friendly. read more

I stopped by today to have a late lunch. The restaurant wasn't crowded. I had the meatloaf dinner which came with a small bowl of soup. The soup was chucken soup and was good with lots of chicken. The meatloaf was fine but not great. The mashed potatoes were insrant potatoes, and the gravy was probably a mix. The green beans that came with the dinner were, in my opinion, undercooked. For $18, I had hoped it would be a good meal, made from scratch as other reviewers stated. The only thing that was possibly homemade was the meatloaf, but if they were willing to sacrifice quality in regards to the potatoes and possibly gravy, then I couldn't say for sure that the meatloaf was homemade. The server was attentive until she delivered my meal and then didn't come back until I flagged her down to pay. read more

My husband and I were apprehensive when we pulled into the empty parking lot of this tiny restaurant. We almost thought it was closed as we walked into the quiet eatery. Considering the diner atmosphere, we did not really expect the dinner to be good but we had heard good things. After eating there, I am not sure why there was no one else there! The food was delicious. My husband and I both got a variation of their shrimp fettuccine Alfredo (Cajun, and Mushroom), which came in large portions with bread and a side salad. We were both stuffed and satisfied by the time we left, and the server was attentive and friendly. My guess is this restaurant is more popular for breakfast and lunch, but I highly recommend trying their dinner! read more

I'm always on the hunt for great pastrami sandwiches. I have found it. 90 minutes from home visiting my friend Rocky. And the service was outstanding. Great little spot with super throwback diner vibes. Our waitress was very nice, and I appreciated that with it being the holiday and such. The clam chowder was AMAZING with huge yummy pieces of clams. I had the bbq beef sandwich which was smoky and so tender. My son had the chicken tenders which came with some very delicious fries. My husband got a enormous breakfast chicken fried steak and ordered a couple of a la carte items. His over easy eggs were perfectly runny. Best clam chowder you'll find in the area! I've gone up to Seattle and still haven't found a place that makes it as good!

I drove 1.5 hours because a friend told me I had to try it and it did not disappoint the burgers were so yummy everything was fresh , then we had a huge cinnamon roll that came warm and smothered with not to sweet frosting that was perfect.. highly recommend this little 30 seat capacity restaurant read more

I'm torn, this year Main Street Grill had to or chose to be open on Christmas Day. I'm so sad that they had to work on Christmas but man am I glad! I love prime rib, I mean love it and the prime rib they served was literally the best I've ever had. If they're open on Christmas Day 2021 I'll be there, it'll become our family tradition. Tried this place based on reviews and heading down to Portland. Tried breakfast, it was tasty. Here is where the 1 star comes from. Service. Terrible. Almost walked out. Sat for 20 mins without anyone taking our order. Actually had to walk up to front counter and ask for someone to take our order. Wtf people? This is NOT how restaurant should be ran. After order taken, waited again 25 mins for food to come out. We litterally said, if food doesnt come out in 60 more seconds, we walk. They barely made it. Owner, please keep an eye on the ball... your staff is basically incompetent IMO Jeebus May try again some day, maybe not. read more

This place was packed when we got there and I can see why. My wife and I ate here on a Sunday because our usual place only served breakfast until eleven. She had the 2-2-2 which is two of each; pancakes, eggs, and bacon or sausage. Everything was perfect, the fluffiest pancakes we've found yet. I had the mushroom burger and a bowl of clam chowder. Both were excellent and made in-house. The chowder had just the right amount of clams, bacon, Yukon gold potatoes, and oyster crackers on the side. It's so popular they said have it everyday! While we were eating there was a grandmother, her daughter, and three small children from about one to four years old seated next to us. They asked the waitress if there was a kids menu and the answer was "sorry we don't, but if you tell us what they like we'll make it for them". Delicious!! Driving through Centralia- you must stop here if you are hungry. Huge portions. Homemade. (Made on site for those of you that say it can't be homemade if it's a restaurant) seat yourself diner. Our group had the cod basket, meatloaf & beef dip. Baked potato was superb with a premixed butter with bacon, cheese and chives. The Cod was battered in house with their own mix & it was moist, light, & flakey. The Meatloaf was top notch (the patron thought that he would have preferred a bit more onion, but it was great!) Beef dip was consumed quickly and was served with a side of fries. I want to go back just for the garlic toast! The service was prompt, friendly, accommodating & knowledgeable. Prices were great. Leave room for dessert. They had homemade pies.
