Everything I've had here has been delicious! Special love for their chicken tikka masala and their mango lassi! Friendly service and good prices too! They've made the best with the decor as a former Coney Island. They do have a drive thru too, haven't done that yet but that's a great option!

This restaurant has an attentive staff in a nice assortment of Indian foods to choose from. The dining area is clean bright and pleasant. I considered it a hidden gem in Clawson!

Main Street Kitchen--You Never Go wrong Here! I never knew they had lunch specials--What a deal! The lentil soup is perfect. The chicken curry is perfect. The rice is perfect. The Mango pickle is untouchable. The Raitha is something to write home about! The rice pudding settles it all in nicely. I'm going to start eating here more often. We usually do takeout, but they are so nice here...

The service is always amazing, super friendly. We live 4 1/2 hours away and make it a point to go here for dinner every time we're in town. We order Vegetable Samosas, Channa Masala, Butter Chicken, and Chicken Biryani, and garlic naan. We order mild spice, and the flavor in everything is just amazing! The prices are low, but the quality is high! The portions are generous. We usually find Indian food every time we travel because we don't have it in our area and this is by far our favorite!

Ordered gobi manchurian -cauliflower, hakka noodles, and vegetable tikka masala spicy. Food: The manchurian flavor was ok but was overpowered by dough and deep fry. I couldn't even tell there was cauliflower. what's worse was it was soggy and damp, so i got a mouthful of oily doughy cauliflower. This is a classic dish but was not made to adequate standards. Hakka noodles were good. Noodles 90% chicken 10%, so be aware of that. I ordered it non-spicy, and this was my fault because it literally came without a single spice and was incredibly bland/unflavorful. We asked for additional spice (got it nonspicy to share with our kid), but they said this was unavailable. and had to ask for the spicy sauce they would normally cook this with. Do they really not have hot sauce? surprised, not in a good way. The vegetable tikka masala spicy was NOT SPICY and was a bit disappointing. The sauce was flavorful and thick/creamy, which I enjoyed. However, there was BARELY any vegetables (see my picture). it is well presented, but I didn't really come for the presentation, it was just a lot of curry and little content, similar to the hakka noodles 85% sauce 15% other content. I was hungrier than when I began. The atmosphere is ok and it is clean with tables and booths. Service was fast and run by one person who was very nice to us. I think they tried to mimic a slightly fancy Indian restaurant atmosphere, but I don't think it was achieving it. If I come back, maybe I'll ask for double portion and extra spicy.

Great customer service, good food, reasonable price! Very clean and nice inside. Lots of parking.

Food was around 3.5. Service was attentive as expected as we were the only ones in the restaurant. Ambiance is like American breakfast booth vibe with white tablecloths and napkins. Food tasted good, but didn't feel super warm although there was a candle underneath most dishes.

Never disappoints me. Extra spicy Chicken Hakka noodles I've also got the garlic naan bread, just not this time. It's also pillowy, garlicky goodness!

Gave this place another go. I think because this was closest to home and I needed food ASAP. This is an absolute no go, this is the last time. NEVER AGAIN. They are making money off these clawson people that don't know any better. It's wrongly overpriced for not good food and a small amount of it .

Everything was great! Food, Service and ambiance. I had the Lamb Vindaloo, Aloo Gobi, Garlic Naan. This is honestly the best Indian food I have had in years! Spices were perfect. The ratio of Cauliflower to potato, Lamb and potato were better than any restaurant I've ever been to. I didn't feel like I had a plate of potatoes with sauce and spice. I still have left over meat to take home! The dishes came out in metal pots with a candle underneath to keep the food warm! The table was tastefully set. Honestly the best meal I've had in a long time. The staff was friendly and attentive. If I lived closer, I would be a regular! Keep up the good work! Excellent!!!!

I had big hopes but wasn't super impressed. The food was good but nothing outstanding. I definitely had better Indian food. We ordered Onion Kulcha and Garlic Naan and for the main we had Chicken Tikka Masala & Gobi Manchurian. Both dishes with rice. Unfortunately we received only one cup of rice so we when we divided that by two of us, we had barely any rice. There should be two cups of rice for sure since both dishes indicated to have rice. Flavor was good, but as indicated above, we had better in other places. Portion size, I was a little disappointed. For what you pay for a dish there should be more, in comparison to what you get dinning in, this was half portion. And you pay the same. Garlic naan and onion kulcha were good. As for the pickup, we ordered online and drove to their pickup window, this is nice option during these days, but I would appreciate if the person giving out the food wear a mask. Noticed trough the window that nobody inside was wearing masks. Will I order again? Probably not.

We just started going there. The chicken tikki masala was absolutely wonderful however the Mixed Plate appetizer was dried out, cold, and inedible meats. The onion was good but the meats were inedible. We received 3 orders of naan bread. Some was good and some were cold and old. Really disappointing since I was bragging on how great this was. Had to wait about an hour for the food. Most likely will be back for the chicken ticks masala, hestitate to try anything else. read more

I ordered online and when I arrived the kitchen seemed very overwhelmed with the amount of orders they had. From start to finish, food in hand, was about 2 hours - 45 minutes after I got the 'Order is Ready for Pick-up' notification. I think it was just an off night (and a Holiday) so I'm not judging them by this first experience. They were apologetic and it seemed like they were going as fast as they can. The food was excellent and still hot when I got home - so it says something that even though they were super busy, they didn't sacrifice quality. I got the basics, Butter Chicken (10/10), CTM (8/10) and Garlic Naan (10/10). I will be giving them another shot. read more

I got the chili chicken and my wife got the butter chicken. Then we shared the garlic naan bread. She makes homemade butter chicken often but said this was way better than hers. My chili chicken was very spicy...like wipe your face sweating spicy. Overall we thought it was solid and plan on going again and trying something different. read more

The chicken Vindaloo was the perfect spicy dish for my taste, and the chicken Hakka noodle was enough for three meals. The chicken Korma and Butter Chicken rounded out our meal. Absolutely appalling experience at this restaurant. Told to arrive at 7:30 to pick up my order. Left sitting in the parking lot for over an hour with no information despite calling several times.. Discovered that my ticket was lost and my order was never made. Given little remorse. Absolutely terrible operation. read more

Top notch service and top notch food. The naan and garlic naan are out of this world. The biryani rice, chicken korma and mushroom chicken dishes are amazing. The mango lassi drinks are a MUST try. They are better here than any Indian restaurant we've ever been to. When we are back in the area we will for sure be stopping in again. Check out their awesome lunch specials, too! I came here multiple times for dine-in and carry-out. I was so excited after moving to have found a near-by Indian restaurant. After multiple times of going and carrying-out, I had ordered rice pudding for the 4 of us as we had had it the last time we were there and it was so good. However, when I took a spoonful, I knew instantly it was rancid as it was sour. I was sick the rest of the day. The other 3 containers after I had taken a bite were tested and it was all sour and rotten. I immeidately called them to say hey your rice pudding is rotten, but was told it was so fresh that it must have tasted funny. I've eaten rice pudding from multiple places and NEVER had it taste sour/rotten from being fresh. The person said they would refund my money as they knew who I was since I had been there so many times, but they never did refund the money and then refused to reply when I had sent messages to them. Their entrees are amazing and so tasty, so it is regretable that I had such a poor service from them. Eat at your own risk and definitely avoid the rice pudding. read more

YUM. Ordered takeout from here on a whim, not knowing how it would be and it's definitely the best Indian food I've had in Michigan. I've had the lamb korma, gobi manchurian, and chicken tikka masala. All were so flavorful and distinct from each other. The drive through window is cool too. I placed an order and got to wait just about 20 minutes in my car and they brought it out. The person who works the drive through window is very friendly. read more

The food was good but the service was very slow. When we ordered we were initially given a wait-time of 35 minutes for pick up. We arrived on time and the employee at the window told us it was going to be another 10 minutes. Our order was ready 30 minutes later (without any updates in the mean time) and was finally given to us without much remorse from the employees. We did enjoy the food though and it was hot even after the ride home. read more

After seeing some delicious pictures and reading great reviews about this place, my husband and I tried Main Street Kitchen for dinner tonight and it did not disappoint! It was one of the most pleasurable dining experiences we've had in a long time. We ordered the paneer pakora for an appetizer, butter chicken and Special chicken Dansak for our entrees...and naan, of course! Both were so delicious and satisfying! The owner was actually our server and he was so friendly and attentive. He was talking to us and when he discovered it was our first time there, he said he wanted to bring us dessert! We appreciated such excellent customer service and we enjoy being able to give our money to a local business, especially one that's serving such delicious food. We definitely will be back!! P.S- the place was very clean, tables were socially distanced, server wore a mask and we were even offered hand sanitizer at the end of our meal. read more

There was a random empty water bottle at the table. Table top is peeling, needs a refinish. I would put the fly strip in a more discrete spot and not hang it in the vestibule behind the counter. The samosas are good, dough is nice and light, like a wonton and it's packed with potatoes, peas and corn, which is a bit odd. It's better with some chutney. The Gobi Manchurian tastes good, just not crispy at all. The lentil soup is scalding, it's good. I like the roasted garlic in the soup and added some lemon to it as well. The Chana masala is okay, they put potatoes in it as filler instead of more chick peas. Other than the potatoes, it's good. The butter chicken is rather sweet, it's still pretty good. Our naan was barely toasted through, which mattered since we had ordered cheese naan. The rest of food (biryani and gobi manchurian) tasted bland. I'm a big fan of spicy food, but none of the dishes had the usual notes of toasted spices I associate with Indian food. Everything seemed to taste spicy for the sake of heat.

Wanted to get this dish so I could judge it objectively rather than try something new like I did last time. I'm glad I did and happy to report while the chicken was good, the sauce was even better and paired beautifully with naan and rice. The sauce does come with some spice at baseline even if ordered with no spice but it blended well unlike last time. Lamb chop was my "special order"; again, glad I ordered it. Lamb chops (x5) were cooked well, with a hint of pink, and mixed perfectly with Indian spices. I am happy to say these were devoured quickly after opening. It was a 5/5 dish that paired favorably with the sauciness of the butter chicken. The owner contacted me himself, apparently there was an interim chef at the time of my initial review who did not make the dishes accordingly and who has now left. I was told I was not the only complaint. I am happy to say the owner - Sam - was cordial and apologetic about the situation. He made sure the dishes were cooked to his standards this time. There are few restaurants who's owners would go above and beyond in a situation like this and I will definitely be returning to Royal Oak Masala.

Point to note for ourselves is to order spice level as hot for myself and medium for my white American bf whose spice tolerance isn't as high like myself but more than a mild for sure. It is a family run business so the owner himself comes out to take feedback and talk to the guests that shows us the dedication in running this place.. we have to come back again for this as I want to try their biryanis. We arrived on a weekend for the buffet, at the time their website, social media and door sign said they were open. The food was out and they were filming it. 2-5 minutes, okay. 5-7min, pushing it, at 15min past opening time, with the food being out for the same time we were invited to eat. The food was okay, some of the chicken was dry. The Indian Chai was a nice touch but not flavorful. We must have been asked 12 times how we liked the food. The manager/owner? also came to our table and asked; we shared it was good and relayed the initial waiting experience, he said, sorry. These actions put advertising ahead of the customers sitting in your booths, its a choice and as previously stated, our choice will be to likely not return.

I'm happy to say that I recently started coming back, and wow--what a difference. The food is as amazing as I always remembered, and the service has been consistently great. Everyone is attentive, friendly, and on top of things, which makes the whole experience enjoyable again. I've been here at least 15 times recently, and every visit has been solid. I actually felt guilty checking in and seeing my old review because this place is back to being exactly why I loved it in the first place. Nick's Country Oven is once again a go-to spot for great food and great service. Highly recommend giving it a visit (or another chance if you haven't been in a while).

Hands down the best Indian food that I've had in the USA! I'm originally from the UK and the UK has many Indian restaurants, in fact "curry" is a staple now in the UK. Main Street Kitchen has many menu items that are on UK Indian restaurant menu's, dishes that you never see on menus in the USA. The food tastes excellent and the service is top notch too. The location is a former large diner so don't expect any "white glove service" but do expect excellent Indian food! Highly recommend the Seekh Kebab appetizer (easily enough for 2 people) followed by Chicken Vindaloo or Bangalore Murg Phall, for a vegetarian option their Aloo Gobi (potatoes and cauliflower) is fantastic too!
