Friendly service. See next reason 3. They have a tiny shopping cart! When I came in with a toddler, the woman at the register offered me a shopping cart, which actually fit down the aisles. As soon as I walked in, I knew I had made the right choice. I was greeted with a big smile and a warm "welcome in." The restaurant felt very homey, which I love. The staff was more than happy to help with the menu and even shared their favorite dishes. We got our order, and it was delicious! We could definitely taste the freshness of the food. The homemade tortilla taco was amazing! Everything we ordered was great. I knew everyone enjoyed their food because once we got the food, there was no more talking until it was gone. Have used them for several functions. I love that they will cook and slice so you can pick up and go. Deli trays are also great. The service is another great part of this establishment. The portion was extremely generous and piled high with meat. For $10, it's honestly one of the best values I've come across. What really stood out was the customer service. The staff was welcoming, patient, and very attentive when answering my questions about the menu and their meats. I had also inquired about their chili beans, which is made in house, and the young lady kindly offered me a sample, which was delicious! That will probably be my new side. If you're a fan of tri-tip (or meat), this place is definitely worth checking out. They also had precooked meat that you can purchase. I love that for a quick meal prep. Will definitely be back.!

You will never think about stopping to eat here if you are not brought by a person from the town. When my boss took me the first time it was for breakfast and my first expression was... Holy cow!!, when i saw a medium Pyrex jar full of melted butter in the griddle. You did not have to be too smart to know that "the golden liquid" was going to be use in the preparation of anything coming out of that griddle... from the pancakes, to the hash browns and toasts. The woman working behind the counter's name is Louis and she is super polite and with good spirit. She welcomes you with a smile even if you are not one of her usual customers. This is not a place to come if you want to eat something healthy but if you want to experience what is a good American breakfast in a small farm town... you should try it. Lately, I've been craving pineapple: pineapple juice, pineapple tea, pineapple shakes-- like, no matter how much pineapple I drink, I just can't get enough. So, that's what I was in search of. I walked straight to the aguas frescas (for any other gringos who may not know, aguas frescas are fresh fruit juices, and they're life-changingly delicious). "Do you have pineapple?" I didn't see any pineapple, but the server said, "Yes, we have pineapple cucumber spinach, do you want to try it?" He was basically already pouring me a sample, so I couldn't say no. I tried it, and it was actually really delicious, but it reminded me too much of the spinach smoothies I used to make at 'home.' I really wanted something more like a light juicy tea, so I ordered a jamaica. "What are aguas locas?" He looked like he was trying not to laugh at me (but in a cute way) as he explained that aguas locas are aguas frescas with added fresh fruit, chamoy candies, chamoy straw, and chamoy/tajin rim. Ordering a jamaica loca may not have been the wisest choice-- it probably would have been better with any other flavor of agua fresca. It was a little weird, but I still loved it, because all of the ingredients were so fresh and delicious. I've ordered several mangonadas over the summer, all over NorCal (and even Nevada). Oftentimes, the ice, chamoy, or mango puree can be less than fresh, but this was not the case. This tasted like the freshest jamaica I've ever had. The ice tasted like fresh, clean ice (the way that all ice should taste, but, unfortunately, not everyone cleans and maintains their machines appropriately). Even though I wouldn't recommend copying my exact order, I would definitely recommend checking this place out. I would definitely stop by again next time I'm in Merced.
