Buffalo Chicken Wrap with Sweet Potato Fries

Food was good. I had the Buffalo Chicken Wrap. It could benefit from some shredded cheddar inside. Took home a bread pudding to have with coffee later. Service was fast and friendly. Lots of seating. They offer daily lunch specials from 11-2pm. They also have a large list of fresh vegetables available as sides or a platter. Very reasonably priced $-$$

Awesome experience!!!! I had the Catfish platter Catfish was cooked to perfection. My wife had the surf & turf steak and seafood was cooked perfect as well. Best service we have had in a long time. Definitely recommend giving this place a try.

Not far from our hotel in Calera is the Main Street Tavern. I did my homework and found this place on Yelp in Montvallo, AL. Our server is from this town and was very helpful with the menu. We ordered cheese curds to start and they were outstanding! They came out piping hot and cooked perfectly. The batter made for a crispy treat and the sauce had great flavor. Tyler order wings; garlic Parmesan and honey BBQ, Eric ordered Chicken Parmesan and I ordered a fried chicken sandwich with garlic Parmesan sauce and tots. My sandwich was called a Buffalo chicken sandwich on the menu and I decided to sub the Buffalo sauce with garlic parm. Simple swap, right? The wires got twisted and they brought me a fired chicken with garlic Buffalo sauce. They corrected this issue very quickly which was appreciated since my colleague both were served a few minutes before me so they already had a head start. Tyler enjoyed his garlic parm wings. Eric was enjoying his chicken parm sandwich. The chicken breast was enough on both our sandwich and mine was cooked perfectly. The breading was crispy and the sandwich was enhanced by the garlic parm. Our server made an honest mistake and incidentally charged my colleague's credit card for my meal. Once I explain to her what occurred she immediately fixed the issue by refunding his card and bringing me a new bill for the meal. The owner stopped by our table and introduced himself. The building appears to be a renovated and reused fire station or industrial mechanics garage. I enjoyed our meal at the Main Street Tavern. Friendly service, tasty food and a relaxed laid back atmosphere. Thanks!

The food is classic, no-frills bar fare but consistently tasty. Portions are massive (easily shareable), so we almost always split a dish. They're also fantastic at accommodating large groups, which makes this a go-to spot for getting together with friends.

This is one of the best places in Montevallo they have steaks ,fish you name it very prompt and courteous service. Jeff is just the best and I don't think I've had anything that I don't like. It's all been fantastic. Come early they fill up fast very popular place. read more

Food is always great, and the Tav's extensive menu assures everyone can find a drool-worthy option that suits their own particular taste. But what really makes this casual dining place special are the hostesses, servers, and manager, Jeff, who go out of their way to make us feel welcome and well-cared for. The "Tav" is our go-to after Montevallo volleyball games. We appreciate how they go out of their way to create a family-friendly atmosphere. read more

I always enjoy having lunch at Main Street Tavern. Today I had the chicken fingers and fries. The chicken fingers were the biggest I've ever had. They were more like chicken hands. They were hand breaded, juicy, crunchy and flavorful. The fries here are always flavorful, crispy and not greasy. I recommend everyone to try Main Street Tavern. The food, customer service and value for your money is always great. read more

My wife and I shared the steak nachos starter and as usual, I ate most of it and it was great! I had the Jerk chicken pasta and it was also great and I had leftovers for lunch the next day since I ate most of the steak nachos. Me wife had a chicken sandwich and the chicken was juicy and flavorful. She had a chocolate martini which was delicious and I enjoyed a Smokey old fashioned which was made well with nice smoke. The owner visited our table 3 times! Jeff, we enjoyed our time at your place and will return and recommend you. Our waiter was also named Jeff and our service was fantastic. Man oh man what can I not say about this place. I've been coming here since they opened. Every time my family and I walk in, Jeff (the owner) always comes by and talks to us for a bit. The people here couldn't be nicer and the guy running the show is an awesome guy! There is a massive food selection and I haven't found anything that I haven't liked yet! I will say that the jerked chicken pasta is a lot spicier than it sounds.. so beware on that. The ambiance is about what you'd expect, pretty chill vibe and gets a little rowdy with college football games on of course. This place is always packed and always buzzing. The bartenders are great and pour heavy. All in all, this place is a true hometown haven and a gem for the area! I highly recommend anybody passing through to come on in! The staff are awesome and I almost forgot to mention that Jeff's wife makes the desserts and they are fantastic! You won't be disappointed! read more

Great food, full menu and draft beer! Cindy loves the shrimp salad and pops and I got fried catfish with garlic potatoes it was crispy and the potatoes are a favorite. Lots of TV lets you watch the game. Steakhouse style salads with fresh dressing. More food than we can eat! Service was excellent. read more

What a hidden gem in Montevallo, AL! We knew it was an excellent local eatery when we showed up 10 to 4 pm, and there was a line at the door. The menu had such a variety that we definitely will have to return. Everything we ordered was fantastic, especially the potato skins, since it seems no one has those any longer on their menu. Sanders, our waiter was super friendly, explained the menu, and filled us in on the town. He spoke highly of the Owners and how they are like Family, a true hidden gem. read more

The food was terrific! I had the new grilled salmon, which was cooked outstanding - moist inside and charred nicely on the outside. And the ponzu sauce was a perfect complement to the salmon - a soy-based sauce more like gravy than glaze, salty and slightly sweet. For sides, we substituted green beans for the side salad and roasted garlic potatoes instead of the rice. Both were tasty, but the potatoes were especially noteworthy - roasted and sautéed in a buttery parmesan sauce. My wife had the grilled shrimp and avocado salad, which was also very good. It had several warm grilled shrimp paired with fresh avocado slices, pico de gallo, and shredded mozzarella on a bed of fresh mixed greens. The dining room and bar, in an exposed brick setting, is casual but attractive and the atmosphere was fun but a little loud because of all of the hard surfaces. The service was excellent - attentive but unobtrusive - under the watchful eye of owner and chef Jeff Webster, who walked around the dining room interacting with guests throughout the evening. And the prices are very reasonable, well below what is typical for a comparable meal in metro Bham. It's worth the drive to Montevallo to enjoy Main Street Tavern! We'll definitely be back! read more

Y'all. Eat here. I got the Shrimp and Avacodo Salad with Southwest Ranch dressing, my husband got the fried flounder sandwich, and my daughter got a cheeseburger. All delicious. I feel like you can't go wrong. OMG and fried dill pickle appetizer, the batter was light and stuck to the pickles, and the ranch tasted fresh and homemade. 10/10, highly recommend. I cannot remember our servers name but he is as great. read more

Good stuff! Every time I eat here, I find something else delicious to eat. Last time I ate there, I had one of their fancy artisan beers with my lunch. LoL! The waitress talked me into it and I liked that she "knew her stuff". I enjoyed the fried green tomatoes for an appetizer. They were delicious. For my main course, I enjoyed the grilled shrimp and avocado salad! It had enough goodies on it to be appetizing and I didn't feel like I was eating rabbit food. (Y'all know what I'm talking about.) There was actually something delicious in every bite and I left satisfied. For a small college town, Main Street isn't too bad. The service was friendly and the food was fine. We were there at lunch and the crowd was a mix of townies and college students. The menu was bar food and meat and three. If I could change anything, I'd get these guys booths that don't rock around so much. As other guests got up, it was like riding an amusement park ride. The air conditioning also drips a lot. Still, it's a far cry from the restaurants that were there during my days at Montevallo in the 80's. read more

Went with 3 colleagues for lunch - they all recommended I have the Buffalo Chicken Burger - and as you can see from the picture, it was the size of a buffalo! Great flavor and fried to perfection! I also had the wedge salad - which was delicious as well. Everything on the menu sounded excellent - I am looking forward to going back. The portions are huge so leftovers are guaranteed. I recommend the J Lawley pasta, fried okra, fried mushrooms, anything seafood or the steak. Sometimes the ceiling fans are too powerful. Bring a jacket if you tend to be chilled easily. read more

This use to be my favorite place to eat a couple years ago, taste in food has gone downhill. Although the owner is very nice and service is good, nothing justifies for my Tuesday night dinner with a raw burger and undercooked chicken wings. Couldn't take food back because I picked up my food right before closing time. I don't think I'll be coming back any time soon. read more

We love the Main Street Tavern. The food is good with a good selection. I love their club sandwich (before 4p.m.) and their grilled shrimp and fries are great. Also Jerk Chicken Pasta is a favorite. Their service is always great. And I love it's in an old building from the 1800's. read more

Nice sports bar! We sat at the bar for dinner and the bartender was great! Funny, great service, went the extra mile. He made the entire experience great. I order the salmon. It was fine, but I wish it was served with something other than a plate full of white rice. I recommend this place for sure! Will try something different next time. read more

Came here based on the other reviews and we were not disappointed. Started off with loaded potato skins which were nice and full of potato. Then he had the jumbo shrimp and fries which were extremely fresh considering their not near the ocean. I had the hamburger steak with roasted garlic potatoes and steamed broccoli , which were to die for. Our waitress Sammatha was friendly, prompt and extremely good at her job. We will definitely be back where ever we are in the area. read more

I have been to this place several times when coming to town for business. The restaurant is family owned with few additional staff. They are very friendly. The food comes out fast and temperature hot like you would cook at home. Ask for Nicole and get her recommendation because you will be a happy customer. :-) read more

We also got an appetizer of onion rings, goat cheese, and fried green tomatoes. The fried goat cheese was my favorite. It came with a lemon blueberry aïoli sauce. I ended up using the rum sauce. It tasted better to me. The fried green tomatoes were very delicious. I believe they do a bottomless mimosa, but I decided just to get a sprite. Unfortunately, unfortunately, the server was not very attentive with filling up our drinks. I think they were shortstaffed. Tried it, confirmed it tasted like honey mustard, then went inside with my receipt asking for it to be switched for Champy's sauce. Spoke to a waitress (not the one who helped us at drive thru) and I explained that I wanted Champy's sauce. She said "uh huh" confused and I held up what I had saying it tasted like honey mustard. She said yes Champy's sauce is honey mustard based. I told her I've been to (and worked as a teenager) at Champy's before in Tennessee and the color was more yellow than the orange I'm used to (like they added too much honey mustard) and again it tasted exactly like honey mustard. She explained that the Champy's sauce (and red heat) recipe was different at their location. I took her answer and left. Not sure if I indeed had honey mustard (they come in the same containers) and she didn't want to double check or if their Champy's sauce recipe really is just primarily honey mustard. I think the people of Alabama are missing out though on the champys sauce from the original location in Chattanooga, not sure why there is so much variation between locations. Other than that, everything was great!

My family and I visited this restaurant after my doctors appointment a couple of weeks ago, we are not from the area we actually live in Gadsden so it was our first time trying this restaurant. An honestly say I finished almost all of my food and ate until I was stuffed and that isn't something that happens very often. Each member of my family was happy with their food and was already planning out what they would order when we come back after my next appointment . I just opened a Farm Stand in our home town and while we were sitting and eating I spotted a mixer that was sitting off to the side with some other supplies. If you know anything about industrial mixers they are far from cheap I had been looking at a few in the $500 range so I thought I would just check. I asked the guy upfront if he could ask the owner if it was for sale and if so how much he was asking. The owner came and spoke to us and I quickly realized that the mixer he had was way more expensive than the ones I had been looking at and I told him I was sorry that I couldn't even give him a fair price after looking up the kind he had . He looked at us and gave me a price that was astonishing to say the least , but I still didn't have that much at the moment. He told me to give him what I could and then pay him later when I had it for the rest. This is a man who has never met me he had no reason to help me besides just being kind. When you hear this man talk about helping others and community he means it, it's not just talk to make him sound good. I left his restaurant that day with a mixer that was several thousands of dollars. So I say all of that to say this Alabaster and surrounding areas yall are truly blessed to have a business that not only has amazing food but has amazing people who truly care about others, and from personal experience I can tell you they don't have to have known you for years to treat you like family. We will be making this restaurant part of our stop each time we come through. Thank you again for blessing me I can't tell you how much it has ment!

We also got an appetizer of onion rings, goat cheese, and fried green tomatoes. The fried goat cheese was my favorite. It came with a lemon blueberry aïoli sauce. I ended up using the rum sauce. It tasted better to me. The fried green tomatoes were very delicious. I believe they do a bottomless mimosa, but I decided just to get a sprite. Unfortunately, unfortunately, the server was not very attentive with filling up our drinks. I think they were shortstaffed. Jeff, the owner is a great dude. An Army vet that really treats other vets well. The food is awesome and the service is great. They have a semi-industrial atmosphere that really compliments the cuisine and the bands that play here are entertaining,but not overbearing. Very good food for both lunch and dinner. I do suggest to come early for dinner because they stop serving food from the kitchen around 9:00 and are normally very busy for dinner. read more
