But what really impressed me was how Garnik actually took the time to explain everything instead of just doing the work and handing it back. He didn't just slap on new thermal paste and call it done. He properly reapplied the paste, then noticed my fan configuration was all wrong and moved everything to the correct CPU pump headers and fan headers. He walked me through exactly what was causing the thermal problems and how he fixed them, then stress tested the whole system right in front of me so I could see it was running properly. Luckily, Vito answered and was in the office, so I brought the computer in and he offered to replace the hard drive for $140, labor & reinstalling everything (by imaging the old hard drive which was just old, not infected) included. This was at about 4:00 PM on a Saturday, and he would have been able to return the computer that night!! But I wasn't in that big of a hurry and picked it up the next day so the guy wouldn't have to work late. Here's the 5-star part: I discovered that email would not under any circumstances display pictures, and that Windows Explorer/My Computer would not do searches. So using the image of the old hard drive had evidently not gone as well as hoped--the damage, whatever it was, caused some parts of the image to not transfer. Then after Vito did clean re-installs, there were further issues, and the short version is that Vito had to wipe the new hard drive completely and re-install everything from scratch. POINT: after the initial work, he spent at least 5-6 hours on the phone with me, in the office, and on his own getting the new hard drive completely working and all details the way I wanted, at no extra charge, and with no complaints or attitude or hinting that it might be my fault like some people would. In December, the speaker went bad again, so I returned and asked if there was any way to fix it. Angel and Sake replaced the bad speaker for free and checked out the computer again to make sure everything else was good to go.. Quick Fix & Fair Price for My MacBook…read more So I needed my MacBook screen replaced (and wow, I didn't realize how expensive Mac screens are ). I brought it here, and they were able to fix it for me at a reasonable price. The only thing was they didn't have the exact matching case color in stock my laptop is the darker gray, and they only had the lighter gray frame but they gave me a discount for that. Plus, they told me that once the darker gray came in, they'd swap it out for free. When I picked up my MacBook, I noticed I couldn't copy/paste anymore. Turned out it wasn't the repair itself, but some update my computer needed. I brought it back, and they reset everything properly so it worked again. Luckily, my computer was new so I didn't lose anything major, and they made sure it was running smoothly before I left. At the end of the day, I decided not to go back for the darker gray frame honestly, it didn't matter to me anymore. I just grabbed a sleeve, and it looks fine. Overall, the price was fair, the service was helpful, and they took care of the problem. If you're in a bind and need your Mac fixed without Apple-store-level pricing, this is a solid option.
