Quick Fix & Fair Price for My MacBook So I needed my MacBook screen replaced (and wow, I didn't realize how expensive Mac screens are ). I brought it here, and they were able to fix it for me at a reasonable price. The only thing was they didn't have the exact matching case color in stock my laptop is the darker gray, and they only had the lighter gray frame but they gave me a discount for that. Plus, they told me that once the darker gray came in, they'd swap it out for free. When I picked up my MacBook, I noticed I couldn't copy/paste anymore. Turned out it wasn't the repair itself, but some update my computer needed. I brought it back, and they reset everything properly so it worked again. Luckily, my computer was new so I didn't lose anything major, and they made sure it was running smoothly before I left. At the end of the day, I decided not to go back for the darker gray frame honestly, it didn't matter to me anymore. I just grabbed a sleeve, and it looks fine. Overall, the price was fair, the service was helpful, and they took care of the problem. I went yesterday and spoke to Angel, and out of all the places I went to for my macbook (four places now), Angel was the most helpful. He did a free diagnostic (it was $275 at a place in dtla), opened up the case in front of me, and showed me where the spill was. I was tired of being referred to a bunch of places and since I'm not a big hardware guy, it's tough to know what I actually really needed but Angel gave me a pretty honest assessment. Even though I didn't leave my laptop with him, he told me what my options and didn't pressure me to make a decision on what I should do. There was even another lady there who I think needed some help with her ipad, and he didn't charge her for it! I'm sure it was a simple fix but I think that goes to show how nice and honest they were and not money-hungry like a lot of other repair places. Angel was unflappable as he spoke to them all, evaluating their problems and offering solutions, with the ability to speak to MAC folks as fluently as PCers. For my laptop that was dead on arrival, he first tried to change the battery, then the power source, before he had to give up and remove the hard drive for the transfer. Angel could do what Apple Tech Support couldn't do. I spent hours online with Apple Tech Support. They referred me to the Genius Bar at the Apple Store. They could not diagnose the problem either because Apple does not diagnose or have software (OS Operating System) for any Mac ten years or older. Although I have a newer Mac, I still use the old one for Photoshop and InDesign, as Adobe now only offers subscription software. I'm a MAC user since Day 1, and always have relied on Apple when it comes to problem and repairs. One of the keys on my laptop stopped working and for the first time, the consultant at the Apple Genius Bar gave me some bad advice- to upload the newest software and its froze my computer, which then had to be stripped. That's the set-up to why I went elsewhere to get a new keyboard, and I was surprised to find one in Los Feliz, where I live. While this wasn't a major issue, I knew this would become where I go from now on. Angel, who seems to run the place, has this very calming energy- so unlike the traditional computer tekkie, that makes it much easier on someone like me, to understand an issue, because I barely can understand the difference between a megabyte and a shark bite. Recently decided to give this shop a try. My 17" macbook pro was . We are all working from home so... Into the shop it went, the tech asked what the issues were and went right to work. My baby kept crashing, and my cd drive wasn't working and the left side was always hot these days. I called every couple of days for an update, the tech walked me through all the things he was doing and always asked if I wanted him to continue working on my baby. She needed some work. I now basically have a new laptop . The motherboard, optical drive, speaker, cd rom drive and fan have all been repaired. I would highly recommend them. AMAZING!!! My friend recently gave me her 2010 MacBook Pro to use and I was trying to reset it to factory settings when everything went to hell. I've never owned a Mac before so this was all new to me. I ended up doing all the wrong things and eventually I had pissed it off so much that when I turned it on, it was stuck in a reboot loop.
