If you're looking for a review discussing the competency of this company's repairs, I'd recommend reading other reviews for that. What I can speak about is the level of knowledge, friendliness and professionalism I experienced from New World Mac. I took my wife's old 2017 Macbook Pro in because the screen was dead. He quickly diagnosed the problem and recommended an entire screen replacement. Then, I mentioned the keyboard keys sticking and he said that model had been recalled for that issue years ago. I would have to replace the whole panel. Then instead of trying to convince me to get it all repaired, he advised that I'd probably be better off spending the $800 on a new computer. In a current economy where every dollar counts, he was not trying to make his money at my expense. I was flabbergasted. It motivated me to write this review in hopes that he gets more business because this is the type of proprietor we should all be supporting. If I ever have another Mac issue, I'll be back! read more

I was more than a little worried when my nearly 13-year-old Macbook Air crashed, as I had a lot of important data not backed up. I brought it to Andy at New World Mac and he diagnosed the problem for free, which gave me the option of shopping around if I chose to - but I didn't need to. Andy was clear and upfront about the recommended service to my machine and quoted me a very fair price given the work involved (recovering all my data before wiping the hard drive clean and reinstalling everything). Needless to say, I was super relieved to hear that he could save my data. He was done in few hours, so it was same-day service and I showed up to a sparkling clean laptop (yes, he even made it look all pretty) that ran as good as new. I brought my MacBook Pro to New World Mac today. It was made 2012 and is running on Catalina. I brought it to Andy several years ago when he was in Silver Lake area. Lately, my MacBook was slugging along and I remembered Andy fixed it last time. Granted, it is over 11 years old and will not software update anymore. I use it mostly for emails and writing, so it still works for me. I don't want to buy a new MacBook if I can keep this one running. Andy suggested giving it more RAM. Also, the battery needed to be replaced. I mentioned that the laptop was running hot. He took care of the RAM and battery, plus cleaned out the fan, which was dusty. Now the MacBook is way faster! It made such a big difference. Andy is honest and very knowledgeable about everything Mac. Definitely contact him about your computer because he is good at diagnosing problems. I would say that I was very satisfied with the great customer service and excellent repair work performed by Andy at New World Mac. I thought that I messed up my non-retina MacBook Pro 2012 after repasting the cpu and upgrading components. I connected the cables and I would get no display. I thought that I might have messed either the display, display connector, or the logic board. I brought the MacBook into the shop and was greeted by Andy. He took down my information and would call me after he diagnosed the issue. I got the next day and was told that the display was bad. Just Excellent. Honest, reliable and personable. I've got an older MacBook and use it for very light photo editing, emails and shopping and it does all I need it to do, and I'm just not ready to drop $1200+ on a new one, so when my touchpad all of the sudden didn't work anymore, I looked online and it sounded like the battery had swollen and that's what I told him when I went in and he immediately told that might not be the case, but asked for a few minutes to open it up and check. Turns out it wasn't the battery after all and just needed an adjustment. I also asked about upgrading the hard drive and he pointed me online to the one I'd need, said I could buy it myself and at the best price I could find and bring it in and he'd install it for a nominal fee. This is clearly a moment someone could've socked me for a hefty fee on stuff I didn't really need, but he was honest from the moment I walked in and that's much appreciated in todays world. When any apple product is broken, I feel devastated because it would cost an arm or a leg to have it fixed. I used yelp to find this business and carefully read all the reviews. Now I hope my review would help others save time. The 1-yr old MacBook Air could not be turned on due to ill usage of a teenager. I went to the shop, and Andy was very professional and straightforward. He gave us 2 option : 390 to clean inside hoping it is gonna work. If it doesn't we don't have to pay. Andy is an honest dude which goes a long way. Came here for a quote re: battery replacement for my laptop. He was straightforward about how much he would charge (80 for the battery + 40 for the install) and how much I would spend on Amazon (50). He would then charge me 40 to install it. I ended up buying it on Amazon and having my boyfriend replace it (it was an easier task than I thought). So, Andy's honesty did cost him my business in the end. However, I know where I'm going if my laptop breaks or who I'm recommending to others. If I had employed him for the job and later discovered that I could have saved quite a bit of money by way of Amazon, I'd likely be annoyed. I went back to Andy last week as my Mac has been acting weird. Nothing that I could identify other than it was slow. Andy accommodated my request to drop it off and pick it up in sync with my other errands. When I returned, he told me he could find nothing really wrong after going over everything. He put a malware protection program on the computer which I had the option of keeping or deleting after the free trial period. He also was very helpful in answering questions I had regarding how to find files on my Mac so I could delete the ones I no longer needed. He also pointed out that my photos were taking up a lot of room and gave me an overall score on where I could improve the storage capacity etc. After all of that, he didn't charge me! He said he didn't really do anything other than check it over and as he found nothing to repair, he didn't want to charge me. I was very pleasantly surprised at this good old-fashioned approach to business. After my computer's spa day, it now runs very well. I've taken his advice on clearing up my storage so I don't run into those types of problems in the future and I have noticed it runs much better with the malware software so I'm definitely keeping that.
