They even gave me recommendations for a real estate lawyer and a Rhode Island real estate agent and both turned out to be wonderful. Compass is a family owned and run business, and every one of the employees are treated like family, and it shows. By the time my insane move was completed I felt like part of of the family too. They aren't the cheapest, but interstate moves - even from Massachusetts to Rhode Island - are never cheap. I definitely got my money's worth! Being able to communicate via email, and getting all my many questions answered quickly, was a huge advantage over other companies I contacted. Jim was running slightly late at his previous job, but called me ahead of time to let me know, which I appreciated. And I surely put him in the exact same position with his next client, as I kept adding things beyond what we originally discussed I wanted removed once he was here, including a queen sized mattress/boxspring and a heavy bureau. And at the end of the job, Jim asked for the exact same payment he had originally quoted, which was slightly less than the other quote I received from a competitor (we decided to add on ourselves, but it was a generous offer). Had a U-Box scheduled to arrive in Hyannis May 5. I scheduled a pickup date for 5/9/25, 2 weeks…read moreadvance notice. The U box was not at the Hyannis location when I arrived. I had rented a truck, hired and paid workers to help unload the truck and other accrued expenses. The Uhaul clerk was apologetic and had no explanation but gave me his General Manager Barbara Kelly's card and number. I called her and she told me she was in transit to Hyannis and would call me as soon as she got in. Barbara never called me. This morning I was charged for an additional month of rent on the UBox. According to Uhaul schedulers (talked to on the phone) my U haul box arrived this morning. Feels like a bunch of dots are not getting connected with U Haul and this Hyannis location. It was more than a $600 mistake, at my cost.
