I'm a repeat customer of Mainline, and couldn't be more pleased with their service--from their personnel, timeliness, skill, communication, awesome attitude in the field (of course), competitive / fair / legit pricing... THE BEST! But I'm embarrassed that I didn't write a Yelp review back when I first was lucky enough to have them, in early-ish Covid (2021?)! Main sewer line leaving the house cracked, and was kind of a disaster; they came out super quick, did the camera snake high-tech greatness, pinpointed the break, dug in (through super deep concrete/brick), repaired/replaced it, and also installed a "clean-out," which previously (this house is old) was on the roof, lol. Fantastic! Here I am today though, writing about my latest and greatest experience with them: installing a host of valves (Water Pressure Reducing Brass Valve, Master Shutoff valve, Pressure Relief Valve) which were mostly ancient, and had failed (or close to it), all dovetailing into (also today) a BRAND NEW WATER HEATER (replacing the one that I'd had since 1999 or 2000). Unbelievably quick, and the coolest! Couldn't be more pleased :-) Obviously, as everyone knows, needing services such as this is unnerving (there aren't many "casual" plumbing needs). To reply your comment, I add our messages to remind you that you did mention your anniversary and your travel plan to me as a client. Also you charged me half of the price for sending your staff to check the leak job they did the day before... after I questioning why is an extra charge for that visit . Lastly, I called you for which brand and model of the new drinking filter system your staff recommend me. You said you'll have to confirm with the vendor and let me know, which you never left me know. But I guess you're too busy as always and "forget" again! -------------------------------------------- I have been using Mainline plumbing for my house and my rental properties. The first few times with the owner Ranelle were good. But last time was really bad!! It starts from October 2024, my kitchen faucet and drinking filter faucet are leaking. So I contacted Ranelle and was told need to replace them. So I got all the new parts ready and scheduled a time with her. The day her staff was supposed to show up between 9-11am turned out to be no show. I contacted her and was told they have another sewer emergency and "forgot" about me. So had to reschedule. Wish she could give me a heads up instead of keeping me waiting. Unfortunately this was just the beginning! On November 4th, her staff came and replaced the faucets. But after they left , I noticed there's leaking under the sink since I put kitchen towels there. I was told maybe because pressure is high and could change regulator and relief velve. I'm fine to change that because I trusted her. Her staff came again but left saying there's no leak. Need to come another day to change the regulator. Ranelle charged me again because her staff came to check "their previous leak job" but didn't find the leak. Anyway, I paid her. Then they changed the velve and regulator and I was hoping it's done but no no no!!! The filter water faucet is leaking water drastically from where the air was supposed to be out. I tried to get hold of her, but there're tons of reason/ excuses to not able to talk: her anniversary, her doctor appointments: she's on the plane, her staffs are sick . And it's already Jan 2025. I had to keep texting her for when they can come to fix it, then she told me she's helping her friends vacating , then help the city with issues, another bad gas leak somewhere else etc. Time goes to Feb 2025 and finally her staff came. As what Ranelle keeps saying it's a faulty faucet even though it's a new one I just purchased to replace the old one when her staff came in Nov. Her another stuff couldn't find the issue and just saying it's a faulty faucet and suggest me to change the drinking water system. I'm done with this mess and just want to have it fixed so I said ok and waited for Ranelle to show me which brand and model. Until June 2025, I still haven't heard from her. I contacted another plumber Z& H plumbing and the owner Zorro responded right away and came to fix all the problem. I wish I was not that patient for Mainline plumbing. I will never use them again and definitely do not recommend them! read more

Our family has been using Mainline for our home and rental properties for a few years. Recently, our tenants had an intermittent leak under the sink. Mainline came out and said water was leaking through the backsplash, they did no repairs and left. The leak continued intermittently. We got a tiling person in who said there was no leak in the backsplash. Six weeks later, the tenants made a video of the leak coming from the pipes underneath. I contacted Mainline again and asked them to return as they had incorrectly diagnosed the problem. They refused to return as they were "not available" and said "this type of issue couldn't possibly be intermittent... it looks like faucet". I contacted another plumber who came out and diagnosed the problem immediately, it was a problem with the pipe as the tenants said all along. Thankfully the new plumber was able to fix it. Disappointed Mainline didn't find the problem and refused to return, plus I am out of pocket on a second plumber. Will not use again. read more

We recently had a nasty sewer issue at our house.  It was a highly unusual problem- the first several plumbers were all stymied (and charged us) but with no resolution. My wife and I were getting extremely frustrated. We have young children and couldn't use the facilities. I am very pleased with Mainline. My tub faucet and shower head began leaking on the same day. And my toilet was running for too long. My neighbor recommended I call Mainline. They came out the same day to check out the situation. They were able to fix the toilet that day by replacing a part. But, they told me they would need to order parts for the leaking faucets. They explained to me that it could take a while to get them, which is industry-wide these days. They called me more than once to let me know the status of the order and came back to install the parts the day they came in. Ranelle in the office was friendly and is clearly interested in keeping their customers happy. Not only stuck to their estimate ( they could have hit me up for more like every other contractor I've ever known) Didn't even try. In fact they charged me the lower end of their estimate. A few days again, I spoke with Ranelle at M.P. & Rooter. I explained that a subsurface patio drain was plugged or "crushed" beneath the house pad foundation. We'd gotten one estimate of $6 to $8,000. I'd seen a positive recommendation and so I called MP&R to get another estimate. She recommended I check LA Hydro-Jet & Rooter first, explaining that they had some equipment that might be needed, she trusted them and maybe could save me $$$$. I called them. They sent Cesar. He fixed the problem in about an hour and charged me about $300!!!! I will always call Mainline first. Ranelle demonstrated an ethics which is, sadly, seldom seen today! Update May 9, 2023: Not only does Mainline do poor work, based on Mainline's comments below, they lie about it. We *certainly* hired Mainline for this work- a photo of their invoice is attached. Mainline blamed it on "soft copper" initially, which was pipe that Mainline chose. A screen shot of my text messages is also attached. Its more lies from Mainline instead of just claiming responsibility. I'm glad I did most of our communication via text. There are many good, honest plumbers out there. Mainline isn't one of them. Omg! Our water main sprung a huge underground leak! We live in the hills so this was a dangerous potential problem needing a smart, experienced plumber fast! Found Mainline on Yelp! Ranelle sent Cesar out right away and wow! Cesar figured out what we needed, how he could fix it (wasn't easy) and they began digging! They found the pipe and the leak like a dog after a bone, pulled out a 10 foot section of old rotted galvanized pipe and somehow magically and expertly threaded new copper pipe under our hard scape, curb, gutter, and street without breaking any of it! Just the original 4 foot deep hole they dug! This was a big job. The work and the cost was EXACTLY what they said it would be before they started. This is more than a company. These are good people that care about you and your home. There's no up-sell or diversion. They tell it like it is and get to work, and do the job. We used Mainline for years and have easily spent over 10-15k with them recently, including agreeing to their recommended upgrades. We had a major issue which they fixed and asked for a solution to avoid it happening again in the future. They reco'd an expensive piece of equipment. We agreed. However, it turned out their reco did not address the issue so we're left with an expensive 'nice to have' and they take 0 accountability. When confronted, they speak out of both sides of their mouth simultaneously and redirect blame. After being such good customers for so many years, we were surprised and disappointed. They are not trustworthy and their word means very little. We expected more from a local business and member of the community. This is my first Yelp review. I'm giving it to Mainline because they saved me and my mother $17,500. I'm not kidding. Our main line was backed up so that when we flushed a toilet or ran the shower/bath nothing would drain and the downstairs bathroom would overflow. It was gross and terrible cause we couldn't use water in our house. My mom called a company called JW Plumbing and Heating. They ran a camera down the drain and told us it would cost $18,000 to repair a cracked pipe, and that they'd have to jackhammer through our front porch to do it. We were going to do it but thankfully I called Ranelle for a second opinion. She tried to get someone out the night of (shortly after I called). She wasn't able to but really tried hard and then had people out first thing the next morning. They unclogged the drain for $500 and it's been working ever since. It's probably the most successful experience I've ever had with a contracting/repair company. They saved our asses and saved us $17,500 in the process. I'm forever grateful. I've hired Mainline a few times over the last 10 years and they've always been very upfront and honest. I moved into my current house in 2013 and right away the water heater failed. I found Mainline and they came out. My water heater was nasty looking and old so they recommended replacing which is made sense so we went forward with that. Now in 2022, that hot water heater from 2013 started to have issues. The pilot light was weak and it kept going out. I called Mainline and Ranelle laid out options for me. There was a repair kid that would replace the timer and pilot light which would be 1/4 the cost of a new & installed water heater. The current water heater was probably on its last leg so spending some more to get a new system is what I chose. They were able to fit me in on the same day I called them back to tell them I was ready. A couple of hours later I had hot water again! We had a gas leak and the Gas Company came and red tagged our meter and shut the heat off. I called around and couldn't get anyone and then reached Mainline who were very helpful, receptive, and knowledgable. They shifted some things around and got me on their schedule early the following morning. Our sewer collapsed.  That's the bad news.  However, after receiving multiple estimates for $15K to $20K (not one of those companies spent any time explaining our options or what they meant to a layperson and were frankly unprofessional) we found Ranelle and Cesar.  They spent so much time helping us through the process.  Every detail was explained and they even came up with a much better solution at a much lower cost.  The time to complete the work was also much shorter than what the others proposed (we would have had to stay in a hotel with the other companies). I'm finally getting to this review after my wonderful first time experience with Mainline Plumbing & Rooter 2 years ago. I was referred by a friend who has used this company for many years. I called and spoke to Ranelle to get a bid to replace my old water heater with a tankless. I did my research on many tankless manufactures and decided to go with one that had the best reviews from customers as well as plumbers. I called Mainline Plumbing & Rooter and the tankless I wanted to buy was the one they suggested. Not only did they give me the best price out of the 3 bids, but I received a great installation plus Ranelle helped me get the rebates that were available at the time. I've since referred them to my friends & neighbors who have all tried Mainline and love them too! My reason for this late review. Since then, I've called them for some small problems, as usual they were prompt, neat, did a great job at a reasonable price. This month the valve in my shower gave out leaving me without hot water halfway through my shower. It was an Italian fixture that was not a typical style and the manufacture was out-of-business so I couldn't buy a replacement valve. I called the tile guy to find out if the existing tile cracked, what could he do to fix it. I thought maybe adding a liner to cover the repair would be an easy solution. He said that since I didn't have extra tile to make the repair after rerouting the copper lines to match the new fixture, they couldn't add a liner and would have to retile the shower wall...cha-ching!! They brought "their plumber" to look at it and he agreed that to do it right, the tile would have to come out. I didn't believe any of it and called Ranelle, which I was going to do anyway. She sent RICHARD their AMAZING lead plumber down to access the situation. He said they could remove the old valve, rework the pipes and put the new fixture in with a drywall cutout in my hallway. He couldn't guarantee the new round shower plate would cover the existing hole as the original was rectangle but he would try his best. I got a price and said do it! There were 2 guys working as a team, one from the inside of the shower and the other in the hallway. They were there for a couple of hours measuring and moving pipes to try to make the new valve center in the existing opening. All that time and patience worked! The new shower plate covered the existing opening within an 1/8" because they took their time to make it work. Since I didn't have to retile my shower, I was so thrilled that I changed the tub and faucet fixtures so everything would match! If you want the BEST you MUST call MAINLINE PLUMBING & ROOTER for excellent workmanship, knowledge, promptness, neatness, and reasonable prices! Plus it's nice to work with a company that actually answers the phone and cares about helping you...that would be Ranelle, she's amazing too! Lastly, this company are big animals lovers!! read more

Mainline found the source / fixed quickly (they answered the phone on a Sunday ) and we had hot water restored in no time. Their emergency/Sunday rate was not bad at all. Simply the Best! Ranelle wears many hats. I have used Mainline for my water heater, shower clog, and today replacement of my kitchen faucet. My house is super old, built in 1937 so I have went through quite a few plumbers who had no clue with old homes. So many charged double to come to my home as I don't have an outside sewer clean out valve. Update 6/24/23: In my orginal post, I gave Mainline 5 stars, this is my edited update. We had a crack in our main-line. Ranelle quoted 4 to 7,000 bucks. I was gonna go with that, but I wanted to get a 2nd opinion. What concerned me the most with getting a 2nd opinion was when Ranelle said it was a 2 day job, I'd have to leave the house as there would be no water. I was freaking checking hotel rooms and where to board my dog. I was really ok with that even then. Then she texted saying they need to get under my foundation to check my pipes before they can start in 2 days. I was like What The Hell??? My mainline extends 50' from the water meter, to where the mainline connects under my foundation. That rose a red flag so I got a 2nd opinion. This local plumber quoted 3,200.00 albeit he only accepts cash. We opted for copper piping. It was a butt hurt but we came up with it. We have a duplex and was also having an issue in the upstairs unit with banging pipes when water was turned on. Mainline Plumbing charged 350.00. We paid it. However....Whatever Mainline charged 350.00 for, I do not know. The issue still was not resolved. However we went with another plumber, same one who did our mainline. He checked the upstairs unit. Once they replaced the main-line, he went upstairs , spent an hour, water off and fixed the issue. It was a pipe that got loose under the upstairs sink. Don't get me wrong, Ranelle is a really nice gal. Her crew are prompt, arriving on time and a quick response. I just feel I was "taken" charging 350.00 for doing nothing in my upstairs unit. Regardless, we paid. Lastly, my duplex is old, built 1937. I know my pipes are old, we are slowly getting things done. I just didn't need her crew when they replaced my kitchen faucet saying......you need a kitchen remodel. I laughed it off and just said....yeah, like I don't know that. Update: 6/24/23.Thanks for your response Ranelle. Just so you know Ranelle...when you guys installed our water heater, A PERMIT is required...I never saw it or was not shown to me. I assure you, the Plumber we went with is licensed, bonded and insured. There are plumbers out there that just work with cash to avoid accepting credit cards, that work from homes, not offices, so cash avoids the overhead expenses. Happy to send you the invoice from Sable Plumbing. I'm okay with the 350.00 but you don't send an invoice to break it down what exactly you did. read more
