Stay far far away. Broke part of my car, tried to blame it on the dealer who worked on it 20,000 miles prior after doing a janky fix. Had to get towed 4 miles after leaving the shop as the car completely died. Will probably have to take them to small claims to recoup the fees of having a reputable shop fix this. read more

This is the second time I've had them work on my car. Both times it's been a medium ticket item, about $600. I get courteous calls to explain what is wrong. Larry will trouble shoot and tell me what he thinks and what the possibilities are. No sugar coating. The ticket has always been in the range that he predicted, none of this "well, I thought it would be...but it turns out it is....." kinda crap. It's hard to find someone who you don't feel is going to try to slick you over, and will call you with information when they say they are going to. Incredible, honest service at a fair price. I purchased a used vehicle and two days later it broke down. I limped it to Main Street Car Care simply because it was the closest mechanic. Stopped by on a Thursday evening at 5 pm (they close at 6). Explained that my engine had just started making an awful noise and that my check oil light had come on several days before. Would they be able to look at my car and do an oil change and see what might be wrong. I stated that I am a woman who hasn't ever had to deal with these things so I wasn't sure what was happening. They were "too busy" and I'd have to come back another day. I went to drive back the next morning and my entire engine locked up and blew. A repair problem costing $6-7k to repair. The car only has 30,000 miles on it. I've spoken with many men in this industry since this occurred. All have stated that any one with experience with cars would have known my description would be an immediate red flag and they would have taken the time to look at it. If a car shop isn't willing to go the extra mile to help any customer than I don't want to be "their customer". read more

My husband and I will not patronize or recommend this shop after our experience on 7/25/22. We have a Ford F-350 with 2 Interstate batteries. We live in Berthoud but our camper is stored in Erie. After driving to Erie and hooking up our camper, the truck would not start. We called AAA and waited 1.5 hours for service. When the tech arrived he tested the batteries and said they were both failing. We originally purchased our batteries from the Fort Collins interstate battery location and had the batteries replaced once under warranty at the Fort Collins location. At that time we lived in Livermore but knowing that Main Street Car Care also sold Interstate Batteries, we went there. Once there, my husband talked with Larry about what had happened and mentioned that he thought both batteries were still under warranty. They weren't going to get to our truck for a while so we grabbed lunch and then walked back to the shop. Wow! That's when the attitude and rudeness kicked in. Maybe this guy got burned on a previous battery warranty replacement?? The attitude and rudeness continued all during the replacement. He was angry that my husband had mentioned that both batteries had been replaced before at the Fort Collins location. My husband finally said, look - I just wanted to mention this! I'm not trying to tell you how to handle this situation. He said if Interstate wouldn't stand behind the replacement of the 2nd battery, we would have to pay for it. As it turns out, Larry called Interstate Fort Collins at some point during this escapade and was told he could replace both the batteries, however he did not tell us that. Our receipt says one battery was replaced under warranty and one was replaced as "goodwill" and that we would have to pay for the "goodwill" battery if Interstate Ft. Collins didn't stand behind the replacement. When we got home, my husband called the Fort Collins distributor and was told that Larry had called them while we were there and they told him to replace both batteries under warranty. So, Larry lied about the second battery! Also - we were charged $133.58 for parts and labor for the replacement. We told the Fort Collins distributor this and he said there was nothing he could do about that however, we have had batteries under warranty replaced twice at Fort Collins with no charge at all! The worst part is, Larry never told us there was going to be a charge for parts and labor until he was almost done with the replacement. Although we are grateful that the batteries have been replaced, we were treated poorly and will not return to this shop for any service or recommend them to anyone. You would think that with Christian Bros. Automotive building a new shop a couple doors down, we would not have been treated so poorly! read more

This weekend I broke down over 2 hours from home. My car was shaking badly and felt like my right tire was about to fall off. I was able to drive a mile down the road and pull into this businesses parking lot. They had closed just an hour before so I was left to wait till Monday till they reopened. I was a bit worried having someone unknown look over my vehicle and hoping they were honest. They spent a long time Monday checking everything out and couldn't find anything wrong and my car was back to driving perfect again. We think my brake caliper had stuck. They could've really taken advantage of my desperate and clueless situation, but they did not. They were honest, thorough and very kind. They even drove it on the highway for me to make sure I would be safe on my journey home. I'm grateful if I had to break down it was close to them. I've been using Main Street Car Care for years. They do quality work and my truck is usually available the same day for pickup.

Either they try to rip everyone off, or just the females. They wanted $400 for new front brake pads and rotors. I have been taking my car into them for regular oil changes for over two years, but I will not be going back to there again. read more

First and for most....HORRIBLE customer service... after paying for service that actually made my car run worse.... when I returned they tried to charge me again to get it right. I've been several times and the service seemed decent, however the last time in I waited in front of the oil change bays for 5 min and the 2 mechanics inside ignored me. So I went in and found the owner chatting with a customer. It was 5:00 on Tuesday and they close at 6:00 pm. I just came back from getting an oil change and was IMPRESSED. I'm so used to going to Jiffy Lube and dealing with all of the add on sales they attempt to con you into. These guys got me in and out in less than 30 minutes and were friendly and POLITE. They confirmed what I needed was an oil change and when it was done, told me my 17 year old car was in good shape. They didn't try to sell me anything or scare me into coming back and spending more money. read more
