    Cream tea for 2

We have been coming here for year's, it is a must stop for us to get cream tea and other treats. The staff are extremely friendly and we watched one of the owners take time and help some Non English speaking tourist spread the jam and cream and pour some tea for them, showing them the way. Food and tea are great and this is a most stop tea room while in the area. Great people watching as well

Absolutely loved their cheesecake. Being from the US, I've had NY cheesecake a ton. The consistency and flavor of the one I had here was just stunning! The blackberry tart was delicious. Staff was off putting with their pushing coffee and tea and then seating us by the register so we could overhear their arguments. A bit pricey, but that's the area.

Friend convinced me to try this place bc he is OBSESSED with their clotted cream and scones. Scone was good, didn't have much flavor but that is typical. Staff was friendly. However I'm leaving only 3 stars because it was quite pricey. £20 just for one pot of tea and two scones.

Okay! This is the best cheesecake I have ever had in my life so far!!! Far better than anything I ever had in the states! So it is really intimate and cozy on the inside so perfect for two to four people max! The tea is good and the atmosphere makes it worth the spot. Come for some nice treats and tea. If you like cheesecake you will not regret it!

Best cheesecake I have ever had in my life, the texture of cheese resembles the combo of pudding and cheese, very light and thankfully not too sweet which is what i exactly want. Strawberry parfait on top of the cheesecake is amazing and chewy. Will definitely come back and try for several times other types of cheesecakes. BTW I randomly ordered their homemade ice tea and that was amazing too

I like to enjoy teas in historical place, but this famous tea room really needs a refurbishment and better toilet management. When we visited, the wall paints of the back staircase are falling off, looks unfinished and dirty. My friends went to toilets and complained the awful smell. I really hate good restaurant with smelly toilets, what is the point to ruin my good memory of food with strong awful smell of the toilets after meal. Nevertheless, I will recommend to try the teas here, their fresh mint tea and mango tea are nice. Their cakes are just so so, the cheese cake is on the lighter texture, so it is good refreshments after a dinner. But after discovering the toilets and have a look of their kitchen sink area, I was just not sure of their hygiene. Don't get me wrong, I loves streetfood, and all strange places. But as their cake is so so, so I can't overcome the toilet issues. Hope the owner can spend some money to refurbish this venue, keep the historical feeling but just make it look cleaner and more organised, I am sure this place can shine again like before.

Some of the pastries at Maison Bertaux are delicious, and I wouldn't hesitate to return if I happened to be in the area again. (I got pastries to go, so can't comment on the service for customers who are having tea or eating pastries in the shop.)

Really cute little tea shop in soho, had the pear tart and a pot of tea came to seven pounds. So slighlty on the expensive side but well worth the visit. As I walked in it was like stepping back in time greeted by and old lady it seemed like your granny's tea room. Immediately felt at home and on best behaviour she just that effect. lol Would only come back if I were with a friend from out of town.

Kinda dingy place, but the tea and scone we got were really good. Good place to stop and relax.

Overpriced, somewhat stale pastry - a tourist trap. Nice location & friendly staff but don't come for the cakes.

I have walked past…read moreSweet for at least a year and often admired the pastries, but just never had the time to go in. Today I made the time. When I entered Sweet I was greeted by the staff and quickly took in a few silver tables and several wooden tables with stools. I ordered a goat cheese pastry puff and cappuccino. I was a bit annoyed that rather than ring me up, allow me to sit down and bring me my cappuccino, I was made to stand and wait until my drink order was finished. As I sat down, there was a mini rush. I was glad to have a seat because Sweet wasn't meant to hold a large crowd. The goat cheese puff was good; with each bit I could taste the goat cheese, meaning there was lots of goat cheese, yummy. The puff also had large tomatoes and a bit of basil, which added a nice flavor. The crust was light and flaky and I am sure I would have enjoyed the puff even more if it had been served warm. The cappuccino was also very good, but had a bit too much foam and not enough liquid for my taste. I like just a bit of foam and lots of liquid, next time I will request it that way. Overall Sweet was not bad, I would visit again, but doubt that I'd make it my regular boulangerie.

My husband and I decided to try for a table and we ended up waiting about 45 min - 1 hour to sit. There was a super short line for to-go pastries (and sometimes there was no line), so if you're pressed for time, definitely do that! I love how the Arome workers help move the line along and help people in line find tables. Also speaking of Arome, the AROMA was fantastic! It smelled to buttery and fantastic both inside and while waiting in line. I ended up trying: the iconic Honey Butter Toast, Black Sesame Mochi Cookie, and Almond and Chocolate Croissant, a Savory Croissant (I think Sausage and Cheese), a Chai, and a Matcha. Everything was SO GOOD. All the pastries were amazing. I'm glad we got a mix of sweet and savory things. Everything we had was buttery, flaky, intentional, and made with love. What you'll like the most will depend on your personal flavor preferences! Definitely give this place a try!

According to their website, they deliver "European excellence with Asian flair" which is really a great way to describe their pastries and the experience! Definitely the quality that you would expect with some of those Asian flavors. Here is what we tried: Chocolate Pistachio Escargot (5/5): Shaped in a snail shell, in between the flaky layers of pastry were luscious chocolate sprinkled with pistachio for nutty texture. Really enjoyed this one! Honey Butter Toast (4/5): Touted as their signature, I had high expectations for this. It is exactly as described which that slightly sweetness from the honey in a perfectly toasted milk bread. I did enjoy this a lot but also felt like it would benefit by having something else for texture or contrast. Chicken Butter Croissant (4/5): The croissant had the nice flaky layer with chewy interior. I loved the savory chicken sausage with the slightly sweet soy glaze that provided nice contrast and that Asian twist. When we got there a little after opening, there was no line but all the seats were taken as the place is quite limited on seats. While we were asked to wait for a little a bit outside, we did not have to wait too long. However, the line did end up getting longer as we were leaving and some ended up eating outside. Overall, if you are interested in tasting some tasty pastries, I would recommend Arome!
